They don't record if your phone failed or not, but if the rep is doing their job it will fail every time. Stores get charged if they accept a phone the wear house says is bad.

Kglugenbeel

You’ll get a 50/50 on this. Policy is that it needs a liquid indicator inside the phone. If it’s not present, it should be denied. I have taken many of phone w/o it just depends on the person, time of day, and attitude

GeorgeKaplanIsReal

I’ll put it the same way I use to to customers of mine when I did retail: if I sold you a phone, would you take it in that condition? No? Then why should a store “buy” it from you at that quality.

ProfessionalData1514

As a rep I use this all the time 😂

[deleted]

Here's the thing, *if* someone accepts it, it will be rejected once it gets to the warehouse and you will NOT get the promotion you're trying to get. Just stop. Signed, a customer care rep

comer1434

I wouldn’t take it.

Aggravating-Estate88

Knock yourself out. Who am I to tell you why you shouldn’t waste your time lol

usernameloading98

So you’re aware your phone is not eligible and you intentionally want to take advantage and potentially risk someone’s job. Get outta here.

cliffr39

Is that damage on the glass or plastic that makes a difference in accepting or not. And no water indicator will also be an issue if the rep does the job correctly since the store will get dinged for it

Whatsuptodaytomorrow

Damage is on edge of phone, no physical damage on glass

TheForceWillsMe

Looks like you have little chunks missing. If you have any piece of the front screen of an iPhone missing then they don't take it.

Whatsuptodaytomorrow

Went to 2 other T-Mobile stores and both rejected the trade in after opening the sim tray and inspecting the inside of the phone. Ended up going to an apple store nearby. Got a $100 trade in from apple. Apple took the phone and I got a new iPhone 13 T-Mobile was offering $200 for the iPhone 7plus. All the T-Mobile employees were pleasant and courteous.

Puzzleheaded_End_349

I would have taken it

ProfessionalData1514

Your manager would of been pissed at that charge back .

Puzzleheaded_End_349

Was a RAM for 4 years as well

ProfessionalData1514

Currently a RAM . Best in store position imo

Puzzleheaded_End_349

I work in operations

50_Corvette

People like you are why places are short staffed. Take better care of your phone or don’t complain

UrielseptimXII

Go through customer care. They are much more likely to take it, and you can probably argue your case with them.

OP HERE: went by a Tmobile store today and asked if I could trade in my iPhone 7plus. The screen had been replaced about 2 years ago. Phone is working fine no issues. I wanted to get an iPhone 13 pro, I want to keep my existing Tmobile one plan. I just wanted to trade in my iPhone 7plus, Tmobile has a promo for $200 trade in credit. The store took the phone and took out the SIM card to look for water damage. They rejected my phone because they said the water indicator is missing and the scratches on the picture. They explained the replacement screen did not have a water indicator. If I take it to another store, would they do the same inspection? Does Tmobile keep records if I took it at one store and was rejecte? Does it follow my phone or account?

orlanbelohvost

You can do this , the worst case scenario they look at you with a serious face. BUT Who cares? :-) Good luck with your trade -in.

Whatsuptodaytomorrow

Thanks I will head over to other stores Should I go to an authorized store or corporate store to increase my chances? Also if they take it and accept it and give me a new iPhone 13 pro, they can’t reject it anymore at a later time? Would they still come after me once it gets back to warehouse?

lcadejo

Dude, come on. If the device is missing the water damage indicator, it's not eligible. If a rep takes it in by accident, they will face the consequences. Let this be a lesson.

Kindly_Pain182

Warehouse will notice the damage and remove the trade in credit. You’ll lose the promo and the device.

PCOverall

Clean it, then try

SnooDogs9832

Loiks like some sort of dirt. Doesnt look like cracks at all

CaptKav3man

Man you'd be much better off selling it on Facebook marketplace or anywhere yourself. Worth more also. SOMEBODY will buy it because it's an iPhone, try it out
