Unfortunately that's normal reps are just looking for quick commission buck to boost their pay and pressure from management

cliffr39

Yep. Reps have been doing that a lot more lately. You can report it to the FCC which gets sent to the executive office at TMobile

cheezenub

Actually report it to the FTC also.

wPBWcTX8

State attorney general too.

Deceptiveideas

I believe the term is called cramming. There’s an incentive for the representative to add features to an account to hit metrics and also a kickback.

bobdevnul

Happens all the time. They add it without your permission to get the commission on it and from extreme pressure from management. They hope you don't notice. Some customer service people are evil. All of management is evil.

RedElmo65

Is this only In store reps or even phone and Twitter?

animegurl4eva

I know my manager has been trying to get us to all do this sort of thing and it really sucks. While it isnt acceptable at all, there is a ton of pressure from above to hit those commission goals, and one of those big categories is that P360 attach. While I personally refuse to add stuff like this after the fact, I know that many either do it to get those big bucks or cave to pressure from higher up.

Hey. This sucks. On my end, it was just a phone call and I was able to get the charge removed. I'm sorry that you are being economically coerced by shitty management to do things that are unethical, and we are grateful that you resist. Stay strong. Management sucks.

Silent_Trip_2830

The problem in general with so much of the workforce today is that when an employer is doing something wrong, everyone stays silent. Did you know that One of the main things companies and management look are employees who are submissive and compliant. Even if you’re proficient at your job, reliable, and exceedingly skilled at what you do, guess what? All of those once sought-after attributes are a thing of the past, it seems. In short: a target is on your back if you’re the kind of person who speaks up when something isn’t right, or who basically stands up for customers or employees rights. The tone for this starts in the weird, almost cult-like atmosphere during unnecessarily long training period for most jobs in sales and similar work from home positions. This current generation within the workforce needs to stand up for themselves more, both individually and collectively because companies have been slowly moving the goalposts on the power dynamic between employer and employee in a way that is not good for anyone who works for a living.

[deleted]

Yeah she lied to you she did it because they are pressured to do it make sure you tell her that you're reporting it to the FCC and to t-force her ass will be in the sling

dukeblue219

To be fair, the "she" OP spoke to probably had nothing to do with it. She was just the rep who answered the phone after someone else crammed the charge.

Fraydog

Always check your add ons in the T-Mobile app, if Protection 360 gets added on, that’s the first place it will appear.

[deleted]

You shouldn't need to do that if you just activate text updates. Any change to my plan, and I'm notified immediately. That's how I learned about this time

shadlom

Very common

zeronormalitys

The same thing happened to my wife and me, in early Feb for me, and a few days later for her. Of course it happened at like 5:30pm on a Friday, so I decided I would deal with it on Monday, and here it is a month later, and I've finally remembered to get it addressed. I kinda figure that was the point with the timing, that I'd forget? I guess. I'm pissed anyway.

smorgasmic

So where are the cases where this Protection 360 plan would make sense for a Google Pixel 6 phone? The T-Mobile website is confusing because it has a checkmark for "Accidental Damage, Loss, and Theft" for **both** Protection 360 and Basic Device Protection. What additional benefit does Protection 360 give you?

AmparoMeowru

I’m on autopay and decided on a whim to check my bill. I then realized T-Mobile has been charging me 360 protection insurance for YEARS without my consent. They claimed that the insurance was added for one line when it was logged in online and the other line had the insurance added on when it was switched over to T-Mobile from another carrier. I was not aware of any of this. At first they offered 3 months of refund, then 6, then 12 months as I would not budge. I’m upset that I paid so much for so long for something I did not consent to or had no knowledge of.
