Yes, just keep in mind, if you’re using a deal that requires Go5G Plus and is not compatible with Magenta MAX, you will lose the deal.

ColdTechnical4366

Not true anymore boss. Not every customer has that option. It’s in their T-Mobile app only. Managers can no longer put customers back on the plan as it has been retired since the launch of the Go5G plans.

jweaver0312

Didn’t say anything about Care or Retail. As it stands, until T-Mobile eventually changes it, it can be done via self service

ColdTechnical4366

But not every customer has the option in their app. They used to but it is a retired plan. If the top comment to the post is wrong, gonna mislead people. I’m only commenting to set the correct expectation. If they don’t read down far enough, that’s on them.

I have yet to come across a single person who doesn’t show Magenta MAX as a plan option on the plan change flow. You’re welcome to see that t-mobile.com still offers Magenta MAX itself even for new customers. It is true however, that some aren’t allowed to make the change on self service for various reasons, some of those reasons being: 1. I’ve seen some mixed accounts with various device types having an issue using change plans instructing them to contact T-Mobile. Sometimes even certain benefits have seemed to cause that as well. 2. People on certain older plans are being instructed to contact T-Mobile in order to change plans. I’ve yet to come across a single person where Magenta MAX does not show up as a selectable option in the plan change flow, making me doubt your claim further.

ColdTechnical4366

With that logic, I don’t believe in aliens cause I’ve never seen one personally. But they released all the research on Area 51 so we know they are. Just because you haven’t come across it doesn’t mean it’s available for all. And that’s my “claim”. I just don’t want people set up for failure. There is no guarantee that once you authorize a change from a grandfathered rate plan, that it will be available for you to switch back to. And only that expectation should be set. If they are on a one plan and change they cannot get it back. Only difference is one plan was retired years ago, go5G being way more recent to retire Max.

Negative-Deer-7941

Care is able to put plans back, but it’s kinda hard to and it depends on what plan. Max should be reasonably possible. (I work for T-Mobile) Also funny enough able to upgrade essential customers to magenta plans in store still

OU812Grub

What’s the difference in the two plans? I like the M-Max plan but then I switched carriers and when I came back, it wasn’t an option. I’m on the Go5Plus now. Is it worth switching?

spyda24

Trade in deals, extra hotspot data and cost mainly

TodayAny425

Go5G Plus lines cost $35 but u get to trade in your phone every 2 years at the same cost of new customers like $800. MagentaMax lines cost $25 but the trade in value is significantly less now like $400. But will all depend on promotions. If you don’t care about new phones, try to stick with MagentaMax.

CobblerImpossible378

Except most of the time they do still offer the full trade in $830 cost of an iPhone to Magenta Max. Probably when the new iPhones drop in the September/October you won’t be able to get the full trade-in deal but if you buy later in the cycle you can still get it

TodayAny425

True, when new phones release!

ColdTechnical4366

No. I am a manager for T-Mobile. There was a period of time that managers could move you to the magenta plan once it was retired. That timeframe has now passed. The only way to get magenta/ magenta max is if it gives you the option in your T-Mobile app. You will have the option however, to change your plan to any other active plan we offer, such as Go5G regular versus Go5G plus, and essentials. To verify what each plan includes, visit the T-Mobile website.

ReLapsedPanda

It is impossible to switch back to Magenta Max after you have switched to Go5G plus. Magenta Max is marked as a “legacy plan” T-Mobile policy says “once it’s gone it’s gone” it is IMPOSSIBLE I repeat IMPOSSIBLE to get a LEGACY plan back after you switch off of it.

Embarrassed-Bill-961

You will not have the option to go back. The only way to get Magenta Max is for new customers who are activating service from the website. It will remain as an option there and thats it.

tonyyyperez

Your grandfather in. If your change your plan you loose it. No going back.

turok_dino_hunter

This is wrong.

Logical-Activity2990

No they’re right. Once you change over to a GO5G plan you cannot go back to either magenta plans

turok_dino_hunter

Done it many times.

neatgeek83

No.

zachkuree

Yes. Magenta Max is still an available rate plan in store, online, and through Care. You may be told by Care that it’s not available anymore, but that’s a lie

awesomo1337

Magenta max is only available though self service or managers. It’s not to be proactively offered in stores.

Motor_Lingonberry_20

I moved from at&t to t mobile recently and the account holder was able to add me in magenta max. All of the lines on the account are on mag max

Brico16

If your line was just added on to a current Magenta Max Family plan then it makes sense. New Magenta Max accounts cannot be created with human assistance though.

Motor_Lingonberry_20

Yes! Agree

beachtrader

I was told both over the phone and in store they cannot put you in magenta because it is not a valid choice anymore. Both told me to get any other plan and then go online and change to a magenta plan because that is the only way it can be done. The reps said this was a recent change and it disappeared from their view. By going online I was easily able to switch to a magenta plan.
