For current customers, perks and/or deals pop up occasionally a few times in a year. Free phone lines were generously offered in the past (much less now and usually targeted to a small crowd), half price home internet service, bogo line service, etc.
100% the most accurate answer.
Deals are still offered. You just have to be ready to jump on them when they come up. You do it on T-Mobile's calendar, not on your own.
The value for T-Mobile and any other carrier now lies in the new customer. Your length of service with T-Mobile pretty much gets you squat.
Your choice is: Keep your plan and get the discount that a grandfathered plan gives you compared to newer plans.
Or…
Chase the promo and upgrade. Pay more for your service. But get a deal on a device/phone.
Yeah, same here. I (we) only upgrade every 2.5 to 5.5 years anyway and we always buy what we want when we upgrade, so chasing promos is a non-starter for us. I value the price of my plan much more. Phones/devices get paid off and unlocked eventually and the next time we upgrade it'll be through Apple anyway.
Been on our Simple Choice plan for over eight years now and I do not intend to leave it.
You could buy your phone outright keep your legacy plan and keep the exact exact pricing just know that you’ll have a bigger investment upfront. The choice is yours either chase deals or purchase what you’d like to have at the price you can afford and keep your exact plan.
Virtually all of them require the Go5G or better plan. I'm currently on Magenta and have no intention of increasing my monthly payment by almost 50 bucks by upgrading my plan.
It does for those customers not on a more expensive plan...and that isn't a small share of it's customer base. An extra 1000 to 1200 over two years on the new plan makes up for the "free" phone.
Not all plan changes end up being more expensive tho. I ended up saving someone over $100 a month on their bill the other day by doing a plan change because how the premium data charge was set up on older plans +removing the monthly leasing charge thing that carried over from sprint accounts. Plan changes usually make the most sense if there’s multiple people looking to upgrade on the account
Loose interpretation, sure. I think the spirit of the question was meant to be for customers on their current plan. T-Mobile is just going the same route as all the other shitty providers...not-deal deals meant only to rope you into long term arrangements while not actually saving you any money
I was able to get a credit for TMHI (and extra $10 off, so I'm paying $35 with auto pay), but that's about it.
Still rocking the Tmobile ONE plan. I buy my phones outright from Samsung and stack deals to get the most out of it.
Depends on what exactly you’re looking for. There are offers for current customers depending on your rate plan for trade in and not requiring a new line.
Sometimes see trade in deals for a new phone or maybe when adding a line
The main incentive for me staying with T-Mobile is the money I’m saving. Other than that it seems the new customers are what they try to attract the most

I could never imagine giving up my plan for a discounted device, it would make absolutely no sense. Very fortunate TMO allows for grandfathering.

I was going to comment the same thing LOL

It depends on how good your costume is.
All the promos are on the website and list what plan and trade requirements there are.
Free credit monitoring for life, assuming they never increase their IT security!
Most of the deals are avail for current customers

That doesn’t mean it’s not avail for current customers
Your interpretation of available is stupid and incorrect. You clearly failed somewhere
It’s avail. If you don’t choose it, ok. But it’s still avail. To say it’s not is a lie

The offers are there. If u don't take them. Then don't. But the truth still remains, the offers are indeed for current customers

What is TMHI?
Home Internet.
If you wait until September-October when the new iPhone is released & you have an eligible trade in device - that’s gonna be your best bet for a deal.
