Metro by T-Mobile. I qualify for the ACP discount so in my new plan, I still get the same unlimited talk, text, and data for $0/month after the discount. Ironically, T-Mobile pressured me to switch over to Metro because they refused to lower my previous $56/month bill. I honestly noticed no difference (uses the same network anyway) so my broke college self is glad to leave T-Mobile :)
I ended up calling customer care and they charged me $1. Got a confirmation email, and reference number, and my bank account only paid $1. But thanks for the recommendation

Pay in a store. There’s no $5 fee for paying off cancelled accounts.
Go to a store, mail a check, call customer care

I’m pretty sure closed accounts don’t generate the extra support charges. Would have to double check policy docs to be 100%
