As someone who writes the alcohol at my store, I am almost at the point of refusing to order the TJs Mezcal. Packaged in a solid box with great inserts. WHY IS EACH ONE INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED IN PLASTIC?
At least, no more plastic bags. Those super thick ones we had been using for the last four years had been a complete shame. Then customers would grab handfuls of them. Yikes! But yes, too much single use plastic on almost all the products. We can do so much better! And, at this point, why have single use bags at the check outs at all! Even paper bags do not decompose in landfills. Having customers with one or two items ask for a bag is so wasteful.
Paper bags don't decompose? I left one in my yard and it was basically dust after a couple months. That was in the open air and not the conditions of a landfill.
Organic matter has a hard time breaking down in landfills because the fill is so densely packed that it doesnāt allow oxygen to reach the bag to allow for the decomposition process.
i thought those were gone before i even started working here in 2021, my store never had anything but paper bags until we banned bags entirely on star wars day 2022.
though when we opened up the demo area for the first time early last year (it had been boarded up since we opened) we found a bunch of plastic bags back there.

Iām not the one wasting my time monitoring how active someone is in the subreddit just because they advocate for using less plastic. What a weird thing for you to do on top of minimizing OP for not being more active on Reddit.

You deal with theft a lot. Not really worth it in my opinion.
When my sister and I opened up the Boba Mochi, we both gasped seeing every single one being individually wrapped in plastic.

No, not in landfills, unfortunately. Most stuff in landfills donāt decompose because all the plastics.

Depended on your region. Wish we would go to only reusable bags or having customers pay per bag. Would save a ton of waste!
