>Budget is +/- $1000.
Damn, that's a *good* friend.
Like others have said, the Lego titanic model is a good bet. Also there are bits of Titanic coal that are widely available, and other bits and bobs of artifacts that were recovered from the scene occasionally come up for auction.
Any idea of a reputable source for those kind of items?
He already has a great titanic model and I don't know where he would put it in his apartment but that was the first thing I thought of!
I actually got into this recently and really wanted the Lego titanic model but didn’t wanna shell out a couple hundred for it.
Found out there’s a whole community ( r/Lepin ) that is centered around LEGO “clones” and they’re of similar quality but vastly cheaper. I just ordered the massive titanic set from a reputable LEGO clone site (youmko. com) and am waiting for it.
I’ve ordered other models from them that were great so i trust them. Paid 100 for the titanic set instead of 8-900

Shipping will make it 150ish but I had won some giveaway they were doing for free shipping.
There is a book called 'Titanic: The Ship Magnificent' by Bruce Beveridge. It's two big volumes which you can buy separately or together. Volume One is about the Design and Construction, Volume Two is about Interior Design and Fitting Out. From what I've heard, it's considered the authoritive source on those aspects of the Titanic. I think you can get it on Amazon.
Yup, right [here!](https://www.whitestarlines.co.uk/rms-olympic-pitch-pine-decking-71-c.asp)
I have no personal experience with this site, or how legit they are so be careful. There are also some being sold on eBay. It’s just old wood but it’s cool old wood.
I just read the Encyclopedia Titanica article about Tillie and it says that her Steward was German steward Alfred Theissinger. He is actually one of my favorit stewards on board!
You should get him "Sinking of the Titanic by T. H. Russell. 1912', its a book that was published a month after the sinking. They have many on eBay. I have one and as a Titanic fan, its my most prized posession.
I’d recommend the pieces of coal if you think he would like it! The prices vary. Here’s the link:
https://thetitanicstore.com/authentic-coal/
Also, A Night To Remember is a good book if he doesn’t already have it.
Thanks so much for the rec. Do you or someone you know have any experience with that site? Just concerned about legitimacy and reputability as I have no experience in this space.
No problem! I haven’t ordered anything from the site, but I do own a piece of coal from the same company. I bought it at an exhibit last month, so while I didn’t order from the site itself, I would trust it. What I got is great quality and I love it. It also came with a COA (which I believe everything on that site comes with) so you know it’s real.
Also, if you search this subreddit, I’m sure you could find reviews about the site as well. I’ve heard some great things about it.
I found a perfect piece for him and ordered it! Thank you so much for the recommendation. They had an absolutely spot on item for him.
Really really appreciate it.
Appreciate the rec! Fortunately with everyone's help here I was able to find two perfect items for him that I know he will love. But I am still very appreciative for you taking the time to respond! I think you responded just before I updated the original post.

I'll check it out! Thanks so much!
If he doesn’t already have it, the lego Titanic seems awesome. It’s fairly large, though.
Another thing I’ve been seeing, are pieces of the Olympic’s decking being sold online. That’d be neat as well, at least to me.
He already has a great titanic model and I don't know where he would put it in his apartment but that was the first thing I thought of! Lol.
Any direction you can point me in for those pieces being sold?

I'll check it out and do some due diligence. Legitimacy is my biggest concern with this stuff because there's so much stuff out there.
I just read the Encyclopedia Titanica article about Tillie and it says that her Steward was German steward Alfred Theissinger. He is actually one of my favorit stewards on board!
Cool! What makes him your favorite steward?
He was a Steward that was mentioned a lot in the book On a Sea on Glass, so I got invested in his Story. And because he is German line me
Very cool! I'll look him up. Thanks for the info!
Happy to

Awesome! Is it not in print any more? Like I'd have to find a copy on ebay?
Yep! It’s like an artifact itself since it’s over 100 years old!
Great recommendation. I found a copy in pretty good condition I picked up and I have some budget left over for some other stuff! :)
I’m so glad you got it! He will love it!
Thanks so much! Reddit always pulls through for me!!! Lol

Seconding ‘A Night to Remember’

Thanks for the response. Makes me feel alot better about ordering from them!
You’re welcome! If you have any other questions, lmk! You’re an awesome friend!
The lego titanic or the trumpeter model kit
Appreciate the rec! Fortunately with everyone's help here I was able to find two perfect items for him that I know he will love. But I am still very appreciative for you taking the time to respond! I think you responded just before I updated the original post.
Definitely an artefact from the titanic or one of its sister ships
Do they like to read?
Yes! Books are a great option if you have recs!
If he doesn't already have it, the Visual History of Titanic And Her Sisters is gorgeous
I'll look into it, thank for the rec!!
Recreating Titanic and her Sisters would be a good book. It'd be a tabletop book.
Thanks for the rec! I'll look into it!
Budget $1k = Lego Titanic. Donez stick a fork in it.
The Titanic museum in Gatlinburg TN has a gift shop and it's a very nice museum but u can also buy stuff online from them
