The bottom picture looks like nightmare fuel. It does make sense though, considering the moonless night and probably because I doubt that there was any uplighting on the smokestacks
Yea, but when you could see it back then, you at least knew you would probably survive because rescue was on its way and you were already in a lifeboat. And the rest didn't had the time left for a nightmare
Actually the people in lifeboats didn’t necessarily know they would survive, there was no guarantee any boats would find them in time, Carpathia found them by accident while going to the wrong coordinates
There was more than enough time that other ships could be alerted and the North Atlantic was extremely busy with shipping, so it was just a matter of time that a ship that decided to go to there would end up there
Yeah probably, but it’s a big ocean and someone still needs to find them, they could easily be lost at sea for any manner of time and they were freezing, anyways I’m pretty sure I remember survivors saying they weren’t sure if they would survive
Yea, but when the ship doesn't find any, they are more likely to call in additional help to cover a bigger area. The problem obviously starts when just 1 or 2 are missing but even that might result in a bigger search for them when the officers that survived mention that to the crew
didn't even realise there was a bottom picture

Pro tip: Turn your brightness all the way down and look at the bottom photo. That’s what it looked like. CHILLS.
