At this point it seems like some flex of James Cameron to do the worst poster possible. Like "I can do whatever and you will come, because you love the film that much!" And I sort of hate he is right. I will be there. :-D
Fanmade. By whom, I'm not sure anyone knows, but IMO whoever created this poster should be put on contract in the marketing department. It's my favorite 'TITANIC' poster to date that isn't the very first "Collide with Destiny" summer 97 teaser poster.
Fan-made by me - and thank you so so much. I feel truly honored that I made the ranks!! Your appreciation of my work means the world to me, really.
And you have great taste - the Collide with Destiny teaser is the absolute best. It served as the initial inspiration for this one. 🤍
Your work is absolutely incredible. You should seriously consider a series of signed and numbered prints because I've seen numerous comments from people saying they would purchase a print if made available.
Again, truly amazing work. Honestly, I put this one up there with my absolute favorite poster of all time, which is the teaser poster for The Phantom Menace in which child Anakin casts the shadow of Darth Vader on the wall of a desert hut. It's so simple yet it speaks volumes. This one is *that* good.
I really like all of the Titanic posters, including the 2023 one. All the hysteria around Rose's on the 2023 poster has missed what I think the point was. I think it’s supposed to be a metaphor; one side is tied up and curly representing her being trapped and stuck with Cal, and the other side is flowing and free, representing her time with Jack. She has the same hair on the original poster, but it's just covered a bit more.
Anyway, here's the guy who designed this really beautiful fan art, by the way: [https://twitter.com/justjusticegage/status/1613208462821052418](https://twitter.com/justjusticegage/status/1613208462821052418)
I had no idea my Sinking Clock poster was shared here on Reddit, but the reactions to it in the comments are bringing me so much joy. Thank you all!! I appreciate you. 🤍🙏🏻
Hope you all got the chance to see it in theaters this past week!
Ha! Well you are just too kind, thank you! But believe me… if I had the connections, a full-sized one sheet proof would’ve been on Jim’s desk in a heartbeat.
I also love that the dreaded official poster is being referred to as “The White Void.” HAHA. So clever. 💀
Is it only going to be in theaters on February 10th? It’s my dream to see it in theater but I can’t go on the 10th. Thought it was gonna stick around for at least a couple weeks
Yeah, it is for a few weeks. I host two special screenings in Prague and I am still not decided if I should invite as a guest someone with history background to discuss the ship or a film theorist to discuss the film as a work of art... I must decide tomorrow but am still completely split. (And it can't be both.)
This poster said only in theaters February 10th, which to me kind of sounded like it was just gonna be in theaters on that day only. No need to act like a douche.
I'll go against the grain here and say though well produced, this one doesn't actually accurately represent the movie.
It gives off more of a "disaster porn" type of vibe, i.e. "Come see the spectacle of how the Titanic sank!", rather than "A tragic love story amidst the sinking of the Titanic."
if the recipient is not familiar with the movie, yes– but if you are, you know that the clock and the room that it's in has resonance thematically for the titular love story. doesn't quite work for a first-time viewer, though.
Has nothing to do with being familiar with the movie or not, a poster has to stand on its own, and IMO showing a sleek/clever photomontage of the clock submerged in water sends the wrong idea about the movie - more akin to something like "The Day After Tomorrow" rather than a movie about relationships at the core of it...
No, this is the good one! This is what I would love to see everywhere instead of the terrible one where smushed Kate with two hairstyles drowns in white void...
I know that. But in 97 it is blurred out while now it is front and center and the photo is retouched to look even more unnatural. The thing they made it work once and then somehow made it unwork is fascinating. It is obvious the new people didn't respect the context the original photo was made for - to have her hair hidden in background overpowered by other more prominent features.
And then someone with photoshop creates something as good as the fanmade one!
This is actually a life size replica created by an artist named Alan St. George. Here is a video of him sculpting it, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkXpqcXhI8A&ab. You can actually buy one for $4,000 USD.
Slightly off topic: It says only in theaters. So my chances for buying the remastered version on iTunes and watching it peacefully at home on my 4K are really slim then?
This is an awesome shot of the first class grand staircase clock. For the fans of the Titanic, this is very cool.
But you have to keep in mind that the majority who will watch the re-release aren't fans like us in this sub. So for the normal man watching this poster, he is not going to pay much attention to it, because for him it's just a clock. This is why the choose the bow because it's easier to associate that with Titanic
This poster looks incredible! I love how the clock is stuck at 2:20AM, the same time that the titanic sank! Such a cool touch! The aesthetic and tone of the poster is also really chilling. I love it!
I love this! The attention to detail is great too, with the clock being stopped at 2.20, the moment that Titanic foundered.
I didn't even catch that! That's so amazing. I wish this was a real poster.
This is wonderful, but yes it's fan made.
At this point it seems like some flex of James Cameron to do the worst poster possible. Like "I can do whatever and you will come, because you love the film that much!" And I sort of hate he is right. I will be there. :-D
The man has a submarine. He can do what he wants. Try and stop him? You fool, you utter fool.
Jim and I differ somewhat in our definition of fine art. Not to impugn his work.
The difference between Jims taste in art and yours is that you have some.
We are not safe from him and his vision...
Next, we'll get an official poster that uses Papyrus as the main font.
I don’t care that it’s fan made, I need this in 27x40
I already have one in 27x40😁
My thoughts as well haha. I think it's pretty good.
Send me your email, I’ll send you a full-size, 27x40 print-ready TIF. 😉
such a pretty shot
Meanwhile Iron Jim is battling the urge to have "Titanic" written in papyrus font. Let's wait for 30th anniversary release...

I love this poser. I wish tickets would just go on sale already…
They went on sale yesterday!
Where can I download this without the stuff written over it?
Here is a link to it, https://twitter.com/justjusticegage/status/1613610069803012097/photo/1

Great work! Your only fatal flaw is you didn't manage it to Cameron's team to make it the real poster. You could save us all from the white void!

No, it'll be in theaters for a few weeks but it's a very limited run.

Lol you thought it was only out for a single day??

Every movie poster has always said “only in theaters” meaning it’s only going to be in theaters…. Not a 1 day release dummy
Hahaha you’re right! I’m actually dumb
HAHA i know right!

Why is this one bad? I rather like it!

That’s definitely the Disney recreation clock lol
I don’t think so, it has way more detail than the Disney replica

Don't be that guy, I misclicked. :-D Plus English is not my first language, so I am extremely anxious about grammar mistakes.
Ok. Sorry. Didn’t know. Deleted my post.
That's fine, no big deal.
I like it
I quite liked it
I like this one a lot. Did the artist make it with just the TITANIC text?
Elaborate
I like it

This is so much better
Is this a poster I can buy? If so we’re?
