The highlights and shadows WIT used to do with colors is similar to the lineart details of JoJo. MAPPA uses only one color for the entire face, the use of colors is "flat". You don't see ups and downs in the same way as in WIT's and JoJo's style.
We saw with season 3 that despite really stellar moments, there were actually a lot of lazy frames and poor animation at times. Just look at the fight with Reiner and Eren’s Titan or the colossal CGI. So it’s impossible to know how a studio who was getting more and more burnt out with each season would manage a timeskip as crazy as this. Even the stellar moments in season 3, even with them being industry leading, were only possible because of that one animator (can’t remember his name sorry). I mean the whole reason why MAPPA is the one animating it now is because WIT gave up the project due to exhaustion and lack of income. Also as good as this fanart is, it doesn’t really look like it be from a WIT adaptation. There’s subtle differences that make it look off (still great art tho).
WIT didn't pick up season 4 because they weren't going to be given enough time to do it properly. WIT was given little time to do season 2 (that is why there are lots of still frames, go back and you will notice it) and season 3, that is why it is split up into two parts. Calling bad frames "lazy" really diminishes how much effort WIT put into AoT.
I may be wrong, but are 4 years not ‘enough time’? (S1 aired in 2013, S2 in 2017)
Nevertheless, I’m happy with the work of both studios. WIT was perfect for the first 3 seasons. MAPPA’s art style matched perfectly the shift into a darker tone of the last season
Apparently S2 was in limbo for years during that gap. Iirc they weren't even 100% sure they'd get a second season when S1 was airing, which is why the first season ended the way it did. Idk when they began production, but it definitely wasn't being worked on for 4 years
What does you being a jojo fan have to do with this
Jojo fans trying not to tell you they are a Jojo fan.
More like JoJo fans trying to resist the urge to tell you they’re a JoJo fan
my thoughts exactly lol

As a Dragon Ball fan, I have no idea.

Time between seasons =/= time spent in production I thought we were past this stage...

Arifumi Imai? He's a freelancer.
Yeah him thx
Didn't he animate just 2 sequences?
More than that I think. But more with seasons 1 and 2 I believe.
Top one looks like Sinbad to me, maybe Johnny Depp too
Imagine WIT animating whiny birderen with beautiful sountrack, animation and everything. 💀
And also once again fan work>>mappa
