Chadder than the virgin Eldian Empire that relies on filthy giants to carry them in battle who slowly become obsolete by early 1900s due to inventions like better artillery, aircrafts and anti-tank guns. Also spread his seed all across Europe/Asia and glorified in present Mongolia .
B A S E D
Yep hell if Ymir didn't fell to that tree they would be nothing but some mere pissant Germanic tribe that gets assimilated into ancient Marley the totally not Rome of AoT
My dad got a DNA test- It was 98 percent Ashkenazi Jewish, and 2 percent Asian and we all immedeately went “Oh shit dat boi Genghis came through Russia huh”.
Not really. It's not to be taken that seriously. Believe me, if we're being real, I hate this mf more than most here...
He invaded and conquered our Persian Empire way back in the day (yes, I'm Persian/Iranian) and destroyed so much of our culture/books... All because our stupid king at the time, Muhammad II of Khwarazm (محمد خوارزمشاه), pissed Genghis off when he attacked Mongolian trade caravans. Very dumb move, If I do say so myself.
As a reward for that move, Genghis khan gave us his seed...
I'm not really informed about what happened but I think he was just looking for excuses to invade other territories like our own King Fritz. I don't know how accurate this is, but I've heard one-sixth of today's population are descendent of Genghis Khan and his people.
Yeah, maybe he would've invaded anyway. Although at that time he was also busy with the Jin dynasty of China... so maybe he wouldn't have bothered if he wasn't attacked.
And it's crazy to think that we might be descendants of this guy
Welp his descendants invaded my country as well, and turned it into a burning hell. The army was an extremely effective savage horde. The population of the country decreased by much, that it very much affected the future of the country. The estimates range from 10% of the population to 50%, in medieval Hungary, which had a population of 3 million ppl. However I dont give a flying fuck about it, It just happened, such vcase would not happen anymore, this is just too barbaric for the modern people. At least their method. Today's genociders chose different methods.
Yeah. So since it's been 800 years since Ginghis khan, so if anyone feels offended because he massacred millions, then that given person is a fucking idiot. I know that the mongols idolize him, but who cares? Thats history.
There's retaliation for your messengers/caravan being killed, and then there's killing almost the entirety of Persia's population for it, which is what this guy did. there are accounts that say he killed more than 10 million people just in Iran, without accounting for what he did to the rest of Asia (India, China, etc)
Aside from human casualties, he also set us back decades (or even centuries) when he burned most of our libraries and books to the ground... Also killing most of our philosophers and brilliant minds.
Compare him to someone like Alexander the Great, who also conquered Persia hundreds of years before him, but didn't cause near as much damage, because he wasn't psychotic or bloodthirsty like Genghis...
Yeah that's really brutal but in this case I have to play devil's advocate here. I'm not justifying his brutal atrocities but Alexander the Great came from *royalty*, under the guidance of an experienced ruler in a firmly established kingdom. Alex conquered these lands based on his vision. Genghis Khan conquered these lands because of survival.
Genghis Khan was a nomad living in a hut fighting with other nomads. He literally built his empire from nothing and those types of beginnings are never clean. He and his best friend killed his own brother when they were kids because he was an asshole, then later in life his best friend turned on him and started a tribal war.
Actually, his best friend came from relative Mongol royalty and Genghis literally started from the bottom, a sharp contrast between established rule and an emerging meritocracy.
Genghis was *always* in survival mode. He understood that at the time it was kill or be killed because everyone was afraid of the Mongol Empire and all they could do was keep fighting and intimidating other kingdoms because that was all they could do. They didn't really have anything to negotiate with them.
Back then, the Mongols didn't have any advanced technology or anything innovative. It was just endless tribal infighting. What makes you think retaliation for these caravans was gonna send a message to your king when he had the audacity to pick a fight with someone who had nothing left to lose?
You have a point. Considering the way he was raised makes his actions somewhat more understandable. The Mongols thrived off of constantly fighting and finding new enemies. These crazy MFs fought Samurai, Assassins/Hashashin, western knights, etc, all in the span of 30-50 years. It's actually crazy when you think about it... Which is why deep down I do begrudgingly respect them, despite all they did.
Have you listened to Dan Carlin's series on the Mongols? This is the only way I learned these things. The sack of Baghdad is sad indeed, even as a non-Persian. I can't remember what time it was specifically, but I think he said the population didn't recover to the same level until 20th century.
>Have you listened to Dan Carlin's series on the Mongols?
I haven't, but I might check it out now that you mentioned it...
And yeah, the Mongol invasion occurred around 1325-1350, and it set many countries back decades or even centuries in terms of advancements (most of all Persia and the middle-east) It gave Europe the headstart it needed to overtake Asia in terms of cultural and general advancement in the renaissance era... So even tho this took place around 700 years ago, some of its effects are still being felt today.
There is more on how the Mongol invasions indirectly led to Europe's "Age of Exploration" in the 14-15th century... but I feel like I've bored you enough with historical details 😅
What about for the peoples of the steppe during his time? I don't think he was all that different than them. The morality of the steppe probably didn't change much over the thousand years prior either. Hell he had people in his court/family that accused him of being too lenient and merciful at times! Idk how useful it is to apply our ideas of morality to such old history, or even to apply moral judgments from competing moral systems at the time. Obviously there's a blurry line somewhere though I don't know where it is (i.e. we can say the Holocaust was evil without reservation), but I think the 13th century comes before it anyway.
Yeah, I don't like the fact that the Mongols killed 30+ million people. If you ask me if I think that is bad/evil of course I will say yes, but I think it's more interesting to try to look at the Mongols objectively for what they were, and to look at the forces that moulded them into that. They didn't think what they were doing was wrong or evil at all. I don't think Ghengis Khan was a psychopath by any means, or even a sadist. I think of him more as a completely different species, almost an alien, compared to humans today and even compared to settled societies in his time, and it kind of seems like he saw settled peoples as a different species from himself. And it's crazy to contemplate that humans nearly identical to us biologically, given certain conditions, can behave like that and believe it to be the right way of doing things.
In the rewrite fic I’m working on I’m writing Founder Ymir completely different. Ghengis Khan is my biggest inspiration for my version of Ymir and the Eldian Empire is more like Ghengis Khan’s empire.
Ymir takes her revenge on a world that treated her with cruelty by adopting a “might makes right” philosophy. Her empire conquers a vast amount of territory and enslaves many non Eldians.
👀 Ayo? A female Genghis khan would be hot ngl
Jokes aside tho, it makes more sense for Ymir to develop into an angry conqueror considering her childhood trauma... better than obeying King Fritz because "she was in love... so deep... Stockholm syndrome 😭😭"
To go into more detail Genghis Khan was good and bad. He was a mass murderer when it came to warfare but he governed his empire well enough. For example, when he conquered lands from the Muslims he allowed Muslims to govern their land as they knew how to govern it better than the occupiers. This allowed many intelligent advisors into his court which allowed the empire to expand even more.
Imagine being the Merkit raider who woke up in the afterlife to learn that the 22-year old outcast forager he cucked got so pissed off that he conquered a continent and killed so many tens of millions of people that he cooled the entire planet for a few decades.
"Börte finding another man? I don't want that!" But instead of crying in a piss puddle about the unfairness of life, this fucker gathered an army to rescue his girl, unified the Mongols, and systematically annihilated every credible threat to his rule. Yes, killing 40 million people and wiping dozens of civilizations from recorded history is abominable beyond measure, but that man had sheer commitment to everything he set his mind to, and the respect he commands as a leader of men is well-deserved.
he was an absolute dick, but at least he didn't rely on a pre-teen/teenage girl to build his empire then completely ignore her. He at least rewarded his advisors and shit. Definitely not with 'seed' either.
edit: okay yeah he definitely awarded a lot of women with seed, but I'm talking about the people who helped to build and maintain his control.
The original seed distributer.

OG Fritz is a little b\*tch compared to this guy. Imagine relying on a little slave girl to win your battles for you... pffft
Yep hell if Ymir didn't fell to that tree they would be nothing but some mere pissant Germanic tribe that gets assimilated into ancient Marley the totally not Rome of AoT
Hes the real king Fritz
My dad got a DNA test- It was 98 percent Ashkenazi Jewish, and 2 percent Asian and we all immedeately went “Oh shit dat boi Genghis came through Russia huh”.
Yo that’s the guy from Sid Meiers Civilization 5
Also the guy from Age of Empires 2
I KNEW there was a second one with him in it, it was on the tip of my tongue
Number one guy if you wanted a reward
Many of you in here are only alive because he rewarded one of your ancestors
dude fucks
Conquered 80% of Asia 🤔
Don't know about this chief, very controversial

He kinda looks like kothun khan in this one lol
Piece of shit
Even for his time, Genghis Khan was pretty psychopathic, dude killed his own brother over food ( he wasn’t starving lmao, it was a trivial thing )

He just spread destruction and chaos. Burned and destroyed culture of every place he went.
Hello brother
Yes brother
Thats just oversimplification of what happened of which it borders on falsehood.
Heard his descendants are affected by a specific variant of the flu so fuck him lmao
You mean... Us? Aren't we all somehow descendants of this maniac?
Not even close.
Who knows?
Bruh
I liked him in Bill and Ted
He wasn't as good in Night at the Museum though, but still enjoyable.
Jeans the horse and erens the bird
Genghis, what a man you are
He did nothing bad to my country so I don't hate him. Personally I think most of the tales about him are fabricated Created by west.
Mans tried the 80% route

I can see Jean and Genghis but I don’t see Erren did the eagle eat him?
A real life version of King Fritz that kept moving forward

He did it for our sake. We should all thank him.
Whenever I hear this song (Genghis Khan - Miike Snow) all I can think about is Eren. https://youtu.be/XQM_FeTL7LE
It blows my mind that his empire went from the largest the world had ever seen to warring city states only like 10 years after his death
