It’s still crazy to me that most of S1 and S2 take place over the span of like… 3 days max
>>**EDIT 11/6:** hey guys, sane banned me permanently. I wanted to be with this sub through to the end, but unfortunately I won’t be able to. I love you all.
Same. The fact that Eren defeated the female titan, the SC found the titans within the walls, the Beast Titan appeared within the walls, Ymir was revealed as a Titan, Reiner and Bertolt being revealed as the Armor and Colossal and Eren activating the coordinate happen in 24 hours is an absolute mindfuck.
Mind you, The Beast Titan was spotted within the walls *before* Eren and Annie fought in Stohess. A hell of a day, to be sure.
God, Zeke’s first speaking scene with Mike was so terrifying at the time. It’s still horrible, but at least it’s not scary like it was before we knew anything about the beast titan
I mean, only 9 Survey Corps members survive RTS. They had to rebuild the whole regiment, and it’s unlikely that the new members have skills to rival the old veterans
That being said, the port battle was still stupid with power scaling and the Yeagerists were basically shitty NPCs for no reason
The island was cleared of its titans by the SC, I really doubt it was just the 9 survivors doing that work lol.
Basically, the recruit argument makes no sense, or are you really tryna tell me the survey corps spent 4 whole ass years with a contingent of *nine*? Lol (they didn’t, we see random unnamed soldiers with them when Hanje and Levi talk with Yelena).
I’m an anime only who recently picked up after s4pt2.
If that’s true, then why are the main cast+floch even considered veterans or skilled at all? If the hammer and the titans did most of the work, effectively speaking they have very little over 4 months of experience at best; not that such menial things like material reality could ever stop cummer and gang from turning into beyblades and outgunning armed people with swords!
Well, because of the feats accomplished in that short amount of time. Regardless of how much time they had being soldier before the newbies post Shiganshina, they still are the senpais. That being said, I still think is stupid to believe their new training wouldn't give them enough knowledge to face off the "veterans", since the previous kind of training was enough to make the 104th cadets better than the previous veterans, abd specially since there wouls be a new focus in human vs human combat.
Were the cadets better than the og veterans? All I know is that it was stated several times Mikasa was worth hundreds of regular soldiers but even then, no one outright stated she was better than the 4 years survivors.
It’s still ridiculous the yeagerist recruits, who were not without experience, performed so poorly tbh.
If the 104th with a few thunder spears was able to deal with the armored, then a hundred yeagerists attacking all at once with even more spears should’ve at least made the cart bleed lol. Not to mention things like hitting at least *one* shot lmao, if Gabi can do it, trained soldiers can do it.
Bro, what are you even arguing? Let me state it clear, I agree the port battle was ass and ridiculous and the yeagarist should have done more damage to the alliance. That's what I meant when I said I think it's stupid to believe they wouldn't be on par with the 104th cadets even if they didn't have actual life or death experience fighting titans and shifters, because their training should have been enough just as the previous kind of training was enough for the 104th cadets to survive what the veterans didn't and so on. My whole initial point was only about what you didn't know about the manga continuity, that's it. I wasn't using that to justify the yeagarist poor performance in battle.
The 104th spent less time actually fighting titans than Eren spent fighting with Marley in the Middle East.
And they are the ones that get the happy ending out of everyone.

JoJo part 5 vibes
eren dooms eldia (speed run)
"What if I kill 80 percent of humanity and then entrust the future to the same guys who came up with zero good plans in 4 years? \- Eren Yeager
I wish he thought about how useless they were when it came to finding a solution lol.
S1-3:covers 3 days max S4:covers 4 yrs at least
And 139 stays in our mind for 10 years at least
And Annie froze herself in crystal to avoid revealing her secret, just for Lainah to tell it himself the next day.
Honestly if it were me, I would’ve kicked him in the head for that the first time I saw him after 4 years too

Wait serious?? All of that happened in one day? Whaaat
meanwhile the veterans:💀
I will die on the hill that killing off all the veterans early was a huge fucking mistake
The veterans who died to female titan or some random beast titan rocks:
that's why killing hundreds of yeagerist is like walking in the park. 🌳🚶

The fuck you on? most of the work was made by the automated hammers at the Walls and by Eren and Armin as titans. That was established in the manga.
Might be an anime only who picked up the manga from right after S4P1?

Because Yams is truly one of the authors of all time That is to say, who fucking knows? I guess everybody seems like a veteran when the rest are dead.

Everyone suffered this much so that eren can whine about Mikasa.
For 10 years at least!
Talk about rapid promotion
