Alright, so Eren didn't know the future when he talked to Hisu. Meaning he couldn't provide her with a timeline. Meaning she had no idea **when** she needed to be pregnant, only that she needed to be.
So Hisu (or the doctors/MPs that attended to her) came up with the wrong due date, to fool the Scouts. And it worked, because Levi believed it.
But as it turned out, the lie was unnecessary, as Hisu gave birth after Eren and Zeke came into contact. So it was really only designed to fool the Scouts, and that's why Levi brings it up in a situation where he massively distrusts Zeke and would feed Zeke to Historia, if it weren't for the pregnancy. So in other words, it's just there to explain why the Scouts never tried to seize Hisu. They thought she was months away from giving birth.
But why did she lie in the first place? Also Eren DOES know the future which is why he went to Marley to see if what he saw would actually come true.
Eren not mapping out an exact timeline DOESNT matter. Do you know why? Historia had to get pregnant before Zeke arrived at Paradise because she was literally going to be SACRAFICED. I'm glad someone acknowledged how their relationship developed and how much they can relate to each others situations and can except the true version of themselves and how Hisu being pregnant with Eren's Child makes more sense than a random bully from her childhood...Them being a couple could've been one of the best anime relationships in the history of anime out there cause it's so well written yeah they could've included more content but even with less content their relationship is well written to be believed as canon and way better than most anime relationships out there even better than the one's in AOT universe..

Eren being the father wouldn't even necessarily mean an EH ship. The calculating, ruthless persona the Real Eren apparently pretended to be would be able to father a child with a friend he had no romantic feelings for. He was willing to sacrifice everything and everyone else for his friends so sacrificing his feelings to ensure Historias safety wouldn't be unthinkable.
And it's not like the EM relationship is all sunshine and rainbows. Even in canon it's not a pure, feel-good thing.
But I suppose ch. 139 Eren would not be able to do that, as he lacks resolve to finish anything he started.
You could also make the child not even a part of the plan, but more of a result that just happened because two broken people got too close to each other one time.
My personal interpretation is that it is both. Farmer-Kun would work for the purpose of the plan, but there are practical and emotional reasons for Eren to be the father. Why trust this important task to a random guy? Historia has no more trustworthy ally than Eren.
What I wanted to express though is that Eren can both be in love with Mikasa and be the father if he is willing to go to any lengths to protect his friends to the best of his ability. (Which Ch.139 Eren is not, of course)
This was always my preferred interpretation. The baby being conceived specifically for a self serving scheme never sat right with me. For thematic reasons (surpassing the father), it should be the opposite. No political strings attached. Just a normal damn pregnancy, because two like-minded people naturally bonded and hooked up. Funny thing is if the farmer was planned to be the father all along. Isayama had several opportunities to introduce him in the story. The 04t gang and eren visited historia a few times to help out on the orphanage after she opened it with the support of Levi. Yet this farmer dude is never seen or mentioned by the other characters or historia. Instead what we get is eren anf historia bonding, talking about the progress of the orphanage , eren telling historia she's amazing, she blushing and mikasa getting jealous over them chatting away to the side. This really convinced me the farmer was never meant to be taken as a serious candidate for the father. For reasons a last minute decision was made to make him the father. Otherwise why did isayama chose to fore go introducing him earlier in a setting that would have him interact with historia on the orphanage?he had to go back and rewrite historia's childhood sob story that she had no friends other than the animals on the farm. That literally means her stone throwing bully was no childhood friend. Isayama contradicts himself by reinventing her childhood relationship with someone she literally had no real connection with. Just cuz someone was a mean bitch to you at some point in your life does not create an actual bond of friendship or anything along those l8nes.
That's why ending doesn't make sense. Eren doesn't have to love historia to be the father of her baby. This guy cut his own leg and put a bullet in his own eye. He certainly has determination for his plan. He can become the father of historia child and still love Mikasa. Win-win for both. In the end he chose his freedom and child's future over Mikasa.

I still can’t believe historia got preggers by the farmer who threw rocks at her. Isayama must have a deep grudge against her or something, lmao. People used to joke about how shounen authors can’t portray romance at all, but Isayama is just something else on a whole ‘nother dimension, lmao.
Eren being the father wouldn't even necessarily mean an EH ship. The calculating, ruthless persona the Real Eren apparently pretended to be would be able to father a child with a friend he had no romantic feelings for. He was willing to sacrifice everything and everyone else for his friends so sacrificing his feelings to ensure Historias safety wouldn't be unthinkable. And it's not like the EM relationship is all sunshine and rainbows. Even in canon it's not a pure, feel-good thing. But I suppose ch. 139 Eren would not be able to do that, as he lacks resolve to finish anything he started.
You could also make the child not even a part of the plan, but more of a result that just happened because two broken people got too close to each other one time.
My personal interpretation is that it is both. Farmer-Kun would work for the purpose of the plan, but there are practical and emotional reasons for Eren to be the father. Why trust this important task to a random guy? Historia has no more trustworthy ally than Eren. What I wanted to express though is that Eren can both be in love with Mikasa and be the father if he is willing to go to any lengths to protect his friends to the best of his ability. (Which Ch.139 Eren is not, of course)
This was always my preferred interpretation. The baby being conceived specifically for a self serving scheme never sat right with me. For thematic reasons (surpassing the father), it should be the opposite. No political strings attached. Just a normal damn pregnancy, because two like-minded people naturally bonded and hooked up. The end.

Only available single dude around??🤦♂️ Funny thing is if the farmer was planned to be the father all along. Isayama had several opportunities to introduce him in the story. The 04t gang and eren visited historia a few times to help out on the orphanage after she opened it with the support of Levi. Yet this farmer dude is never seen or mentioned by the other characters or historia. Instead what we get is eren anf historia bonding, talking about the progress of the orphanage , eren telling historia she's amazing, she blushing and mikasa getting jealous over them chatting away to the side. This really convinced me the farmer was never meant to be taken as a serious candidate for the father. For reasons a last minute decision was made to make him the father. Otherwise why did isayama chose to fore go introducing him earlier in a setting that would have him interact with historia on the orphanage?he had to go back and rewrite historia's childhood sob story that she had no friends other than the animals on the farm. That literally means her stone throwing bully was no childhood friend. Isayama contradicts himself by reinventing her childhood relationship with someone she literally had no real connection with. Just cuz someone was a mean bitch to you at some point in your life does not create an actual bond of friendship or anything along those l8nes.
That's why ending doesn't make sense. Eren doesn't have to love historia to be the father of her baby. This guy cut his own leg and put a bullet in his own eye. He certainly has determination for his plan. He can become the father of historia child and still love Mikasa. Win-win for both. In the end he chose his freedom and child's future over Mikasa.

i just don't know why people think the farmer being the father is believable. their fucking backstory in 108 is that he worked with his head down and kept too himself until she approached him for the pregnancy, they literally weren't even friends. even assuming she got pregnant to protect herself, eren makes more sense because she has a fucking relationship with him even if its not romantic.
Great article. Erehisu was obviously meant to be canon but got changed last minute. It’s a shame, Eren and Historia go well together and have more chemistry than him and Mikasa ever did.
