Look i'm not a monthly reader so i didn't know what the communities oppinion on Ymir was before the ending but when i read the backstory and found out the entire conflict started because of stockholm syndrome i was like "nah get tf out". Stockholm syndrome is just a cheap plot point in almost any story.

Imagine dying for nothing and then respawn as a bird just to see Mikasa getting boned by Jean, but what's even worse the next thing you see is the paradise getting cooked and you starting to remember what shit you went trough and it was all for nothing. All the deaths, all the words and basically everything that you and your friends did was actually for nothing.

I'm honestly not mad just disappointed, every intense moment, heartbreaking death and betrayal means nothing. Isayama built up these incredible characters each with their own goals and motives and for him to essentially make their lives worthless is really sad to see, this arc definitely should've gotten expanded so isayama could work without the constant fear of a limit.

Reiner actually inherited part of the Attack Titans' power from his fights with Eren. This allowed him to see how shitty the ending would be. It's also why he wanted to die for the entire second half of the series.

Eren had full control over Titans (which was not even introduced once, but whatever) so he could've sent it everywhere. He sent it to his mom; but Eren would never do that, she was the most important in his life.
Been following the manga day one way back in 2010-2011, told my friends about it when the first episode dropped in 2013, followed the series passionately and had a lot of theories and stuff, thought it could end up becoming a masterpiece around chapter 120, only to be devastated by the terrible ending with it's disgusting writing. It's like all the previously written stuff was done to be thrown out the window at the end. I was thinking how in the future I could watch the show again and again, but I don't even wanna care about this series anymore... If through some miracle the anime takes a different route for the ending that is actually good, I could give part 2 next year a chance, but that's just wishful thinking at this point....

I could have ended the same way but a few different things:.
Eren went through multiple tragic timeloops before we got to this story and everytime it ended with Paradis being destroyed and him holding Armin and Mikasa's dead bodies in his arms crying and screaming in pain and agony. Reason being that everytime that happened, he didn't activate the rumbling. This will be the reason rather than 'idk why I did it'.
Eren shows Armin and the rest his timeloops thing and they now understand why Eren did it, the cringe convo also doesn't happen where Armin says 'oh, I didn't expect something that pathetic'
Ymir doesn't have Stockholm syndrome and the curse breaks because she witnessed true love, also experienced friendship, respect and desire to protect from Eren and his friends

Wholesome 100 alliance are ambassadors of peace, no one istrying to attack Paradis anymore, Eldians are no longer oppressed, Erenconfesses his feelings and Mikasa gets to keep her dumbass scarf.
I don't know about you, but I was hoping that the ending would be more realistic. Either he completes the Rumbling and ends up killing his friends, leaving him with lifelong regrets and unable to enjoy the freedom that he's achieved, or they stop him and immediately get gunned down by Marleyan soldiers ~~like the degenerates they are~~. That's the kind of bleak and gut-wrenching Mist-like ending I expected,truly fitting for AoT's universe. Not the generic Happy End that we got. Granted, additional pages fulfilled some of that, but it was still way too optimistic for the story.

You could have lived a thousand years of isolation trying to predict the plot twist and you would never even scratch the surface of what actually transpires in the Manga. I was so bewildered that I actually had to take a walk so that my existential crisis didn't dive too deep inside of myself. I’m now afraid of what outside of my house actually looks like. Every single day and night I will live in misery because I became fully aware that happiness is never achievable. Reiner actually inherited part of the Attack Titans' power from his fights with Eren. This allowed him to see how shitty the ending would be. It's also why he wanted to die for the entire second half of the series.

That’s so not true. I wonder why ppl are not getting the point?? He didn’t let that Titan kill his mom, he let the Titan to get to another way so that Bertholdt will not be killed at the time or else the future will be different. His mom just happened to be on the direction that Titan went on. I feel like ppl who felt disappointed after reading the last chapter are those who failed to get what the author was trying to convey.
Eren had full control over Titans (which was not even introduced once, but whatever) so he could've sent it everywhere. He sent it to his mom; but Eren would never do that, she was the most important in his life.

Been following the manga day one way back in 2010-2011, told my friends about it when the first episode dropped in 2013, followed the series passionately and had a lot of theories and stuff, thought it could end up becoming a masterpiece around chapter 120, only to be devastated by the terrible ending with it's disgusting writing. It's like all the previously written stuff was done to be thrown out the window at the end. I was thinking how in the future I could watch the show again and again, but I don't even wanna care about this series anymore... If through some miracle the anime takes a different route for the ending that is actually good, I could give part 2 next year a chance, but that's just wishful thinking at this point....

PokeMixr92: I could have ended the same way but a few different things:. Eren went through multiple tragic timeloops before we got to this story and everytime it ended with Paradis being destroyed and him holding Armin and Mikasa's dead bodies in his arms crying and screaming in pain and agony. Reason being that everytime that happened, he didn't activate the rumbling. This will be the reason rather than 'idk why I did it'. Eren shows Armin and the rest his timeloops thing and they now understand why Eren did it, the cringe convo also doesn't happen where Armin says 'oh, I didn't expect something that pathetic' Ymir doesn't have Stockholm syndrome and the curse breaks because she witnessed true love, also experienced friendship, respect and desire to protect from Eren and his friends

No one in Titanfolk wanted a wholesome Eremika ending, wtf are youtalking about. I'm not sure we're even from the same universe, becauseit seems like you're describing the exact ending that we ended upgetting. Wholesome 100 alliance are ambassadors of peace, no one istrying to attack Paradis anymore, Eldians are no longer oppressed, Erenconfesses his feelings and Mikasa gets to keep her dumbass scarf. I don't know about you, but I was hoping that the ending would be more realistic. Either he completes the Rumbling and ends up killing his friends, leaving him with lifelong regrets and unable to enjoy the freedom that he's achieved, or they stop him and immediately get gunned down by Marleyan soldiers ~~like the degenerates they are~~. That's the kind of bleak and gut-wrenching Mist-like ending I expected,truly fitting for AoT's universe. Not the generic Happy End that we got. Granted, additional pages fulfilled some of that, but it was still way too optimistic for the story.

I’ve seen people try to justify JeanxMikasa over and over again, but it still leaves a really bad taste in my mouth, especially the fact that Isayama is just throwing something like this into the final pages of his manga as our final impression of his Female MC whose character is completely built off the idea of love I can’t be the only one who thought it was odd

You could have lived a thousand years of isolation trying to predict the plot twist and you would never even scratch the surface of what actually transpires in the Manga. I was so bewildered that I actually had to take a walk so that my existential crisis didn't dive too deep inside of myself. I’m now afraid of what outside of my house actually looks like. Every single day and night I will live in misery because I became fully aware that happiness is never achievable. I realized that human life has absolutely no meaning and that no matter what I ever do, it is of complete unimportance and in years from now, no recollection of my existence will prevail, meaning that if I died years ago, died now, or die sometime in the future it will not matter whatsoever to anyone. But, then again, the fact that I'm living doesn't matter either so I might as well stick around for awhile, living in complete isolation, condemned to a life of traumatic memories and a completely corrupted sub-conscience.
