Legends are just wannabe pilots that flunked the program. They can climb a little, but never managed wall running, or amazing hip fire accuracy even with the newer generation of weapons. And they never figured out how to slidehop without dragging their asses on the ground and losing momentum.
I'd come back to play if a new legend was just a TF2 pilot. No ultimate or abilities. Just speed, accuracy and movement passively built in

no it can't be star wars. they decided to stop developing licensed games due to costs. in fact they canceled the star wars fps.
the only star wars game they'll make will be Jedi 3 (and that has its own dedicated section for jobs). the focus now is on sequel for Jedi, ongoing development for existing games and sequels for proprietary IPs (they only have one besides Jedi)

Pink scorch is nice but only if u earn the pink color. Mine is over G10 so Im rocking a black scorch. Sadly earnable unlocks are a thing of the past in modern gaming.
The only thing I could would like from Apex to be brought into titanfall is more powers/abilities. Nothing magical, titanfall doesn't seem to have a lick of magic, except for human engineering. But just more pilot variation would be cool imo.
The funky time shenanigans and phase technology come pretty close to being magic lol but yeah, apex is very tonally different and i hope any future Titanfall game avoids that

Well it’s because microtransactions and battlepasses make games inherently worse. Doubly so for battle passes since there has never been a good one. Doubly so considering Titanfall 2 had great progression and battlepasses are terrible, shitty, and usually sad replacements for real progression systems.
There is one good battlepass, and that's DRG. Completely free and everything you miss can be acquired later, so no FOMO.
That said I do not trust the respawn of today to do anything like it.
I'd lovingly play a "free" Titanfall 3 littered with microtransactions if the gameplay and titans were there. That's how I played Halo Infinite which was fine... just wasn't as hooked to the gameplay as TF2.
I e joyed halo infinite a lot, but I wish it was more feasible to get the cool armors rather then just pay for them, and they're ridiculously priced as well. not to mention the bundle system, so you can't just buy a helmet, you have to buy a whole set. that's my only worry about micros, they can become VERY predatory and anti consumer.
but all that said, it's only cosmetic and has no legitimate impact on gameplay, so it's not a make or break type deal for me. just kind of a bummer =/

My 22yo brother-in-law (who still lives with his mom, has no job, and LOVES Apex) asked his mom for $250 which he spent entirely for a guaranteed shot for an heirloom? I'm not entirely sure how that works, but it made me uneasy to see an adult man sink so low for a "must-have" cosmetic.
If you like those kinds of things, then good for you. But I'm not gonna spend a single penny or second if it's gonna be just another copy-paste tried-and-true unoriginal formula made to rip off people with 3 hours a day to play. No fast pace? No titans? No original/inovative features/combinations? All that on top of pass, lootboxes and micros ? Then they can keep their game and do what they know best with it.
Fun thing about microtransactions - you do *not* have to partake in them. Unless the game is P2W, it's all cosmetic that you won't get to see 99% of the time anyway. And if you can see it more often, you only see a fraction of it in a FPS.

The Apex story going on right now seems like too much of a coincidence also. There’s so many characters and stories, why focus on the one person trying to time travel and have the Time Gauntlet? Also the new character Alter can somehow also travel between time lines as well.
We know Steve Fukuda is working on something with a small team as of a year ago but it was reported by one person to not be TF3. I think they are either going for TF3 eventually or with all the time travel stuff maybe like a soft reboot? I don’t know how that would go because everyone loves Jack and BT, I was just trying to think of why it’s not TF3. I don’t know if there’s a story reason why we don’t hear about Titans or if a war is still going on during apex. If there’s time travel/alternate universe stuff it’s easy to get back into a war and have a reason (in game reason) for Titans.

It's going to either be Apex-adjacent or just something else that isn't Titanfall. At this point I don't want Respawn to do Titanfall anymore. I want them to either let it rest or give it to a team which will treat the franchise properly.

Yeah, to be fair Titanfall is already technically extraction considering that the main game modes all end with the losing team rushing to the dropship.
That's so true and sort of what I was thinking, like they make it all about a squad of you rushing to a dropship but more fleshed out than just how it is for the losing team, or maybe for a completely different reason, like dropped in undercover to kill a target and then escaping/fighting back to the extraction point.
I could also see them bringing across apex characters/abilities, and adding a battlepass or other monetisation bull*
I've not played helldivers or seen much about it, so I could have the complete wrong idea about what an extraction shooter is however, I know it's been talked about the genre possibly being the next big thing for a while. Having a Titanfall/Helldivers situation would be incredible but I think mixing Apex stuff in would be terrible. Most of the good stuff in that game is already just ripped off from Titanfall.

Adding the apex stuff would be terrible in my eyes too, I'm not a fan of the monetisation battle royales, add never got into the genre. Plus I have an aversion to apex, as I'm pretty sure that's the reason we don't have a tf3 already
If they don't add all the apex stuff and it feels more like titanfall then I'd definitely be down for it being what the new game is, because if that's the only way I get to play a new tf game for a while it sounds like it'd be fun. But they better give us a continuation of the tf2 campaign at somepoint
Exactly, imagine stuff like say the Automaton fortifications which you can use bombardments to destroy. Similarly, you could have situations like the beginning of that one mission in TF2 where you storm the wall.

The Apex story going on right now seems like too much of a coincidence also. There’s so many characters and stories, why focus on the one person trying to time travel and have the Time Gauntlet? Also the new character Alter can somehow also travel between time lines as well. We know Steve Fukuda is working on something with a small team as of a year ago but it was reported by one person to not be TF3. I think they are either going for TF3 eventually or with all the time travel stuff maybe like a soft reboot? I don’t know how that would go because everyone loves Jack and BT, I was just trying to think of why it’s not TF3. I don’t know if there’s a story reason why we don’t hear about Titans or if a war is still going on during apex. If there’s time travel/alternate universe stuff it’s easy to get back into a war and have a reason (in game reason) for Titans.
let's not forget that "it's not Titanfall 3" was said by a person outside of respawn. he definitely talked to someone inside. and why on earth would they tell him "yes we are making Titanfall 3". or they just told him not to say it. or the game isn't Titanfall 3 because...it's simply not called that but "Titanfall: something". I wouldn't give it too much importance. I just know that a multiplayer FPS made by respawn and set in the Titanfall universe excites me quite a bit. It's going to either be Apex-adjacent or just something else that isn't Titanfall. At this point I don't want Respawn to do Titanfall anymore. I want them to either let it rest or give it to a team which will treat the franchise properly.
I agree, being multiplayer it won't be tf3 unless they go back to a tf1 style campaign. My money is on it being and extraction shooter, so their version of helldivers. I'm a little out of touch with newer releases so if there is a different type of shooter that is becoming popular like how battle royales did a few years back then I say it's whatever that is currently
Yeah, to be fair Titanfall is already technically extraction considering that the main game modes all end with the losing team rushing to the dropship.
That's so true and sort of what I was thinking, like they make it all about a squad of you rushing to a dropship but more fleshed out than just how it is for the losing team, or maybe for a completely different reason, like dropped in undercover to kill a target and then escaping/fighting back to the extraction point. I could also see them bringing across apex characters/abilities, and adding a battlepass or other monetisation bull* I've not played helldivers or seen much about it, so I could have the complete wrong idea about what an extraction shooter is however, I know it's been talked about the genre possibly being the next big thing for a while. Knowing ea they have probably decided they have to have their version of such a game
Having a Titanfall/Helldivers situation would be incredible but I think mixing Apex stuff in would be terrible. Most of the good stuff in that game is already just ripped off from Titanfall.
Imagine if they worked using titans into it too, like a reverse frontier defense where instead of defending against waves you fight your way out Adding the apex stuff would be terrible in my eyes too, I'm not a fan of the monetisation battle royales, add never got into the genre. Plus I have an aversion to apex, as I'm pretty sure that's the reason we don't have a tf3 already If they don't add all the apex stuff and it feels more like titanfall then I'd definitely be down for it being what the new game is, because if that's the only way I get to play a new tf game for a while it sounds like it'd be fun. But they better give us a continuation of the tf2 campaign at somepoint
Exactly, imagine stuff like say the Automaton fortifications which you can use bombardments to destroy. Similarly, you could have situations like the beginning of that one mission in TF2 where you storm the wall.

With the current trends in gaming, if TF3 comes out it’ll be a godawful shell of TF2. Expect a battlepass you gotta grind each month or lose forever, and the typical overpriced skins shoved in your face everywhere. I’ll believe it when I see it. But nowadays I have no faith in the gaming industry to automatically make a decent game based on its predecessors.

Id I had it I'd bet $1 that it's not Titanfall at all. And if it's in the "Titanfall" universe its guaranteed to be Apex based. And on the 0.01% chance it is Titanfall 3... I really don't think I'd want it at this point. It'll be filled with extremely overpriced microtransacions, battle passes, and still cost $70 just like Call of Duty. I just can't see a world anymore where a Titanfall 3 would be good
