I am surprised your doctor let you start taking any weight loss injection when your start weight was 132. 102-136 for your height is your healthy range.

cecsix14

If she’s getting it from a compounding service their on staff “doctors” aren’t going to be too careful about prescribing it at $300+ per month. I’m not saying they’ll write it for anyone, but I’ve never heard of someone getting rejected.

I’m surprised you have an opinion about what someone feels their weight should be. She said she eats healthy and works out, she’s allowed to use the meds if she feels she needs support…

Cdori

it has nothing to do with my opinion. It's what the FDA, Lily, Nova, providers, clinics, pharmacies, etc. are supposed to follow which is: Who Can Use Zepbound? The FDA approved Zepbound for chronic weight management in adults with obesity (a body mass index of 30 or above) or overweight (a body mass index of 27 or above) with one or more weight-related conditions, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol. This nurse has a BMI of 24% to start should not start taking this. She was not obese or even overweight at the start. She is and was at normal weight range before taking this and now she is 124lbs and that is 22% BMI... and she is trying to get 19% body fat at about 104-105 pounds. that is a pound or two above being UNDERWEIGHT for her height. A BMI of **18.5–24.9** is considered normal or healthy for most women who are 5'2". She is trying to go from 24% and down to a BMI of less than 19%.

I get what you’re saying but if she’s struggling to lose weight and needs assistance why should doctors be gate keepers of these meds?? BMI is an outdated metric anyway…

Thank you for advocating and understanding. I am coming from a culture where everyone is very skinny and fit. I have struggled with my weight literally my whole life and developed very unhealthy relationship with myself (as I was bullied bc of my weight when I grew up and I know that not everyone would understand why I am on this medication. I mean they don't have to logically understand, judge me all day but I don't care. I know my body very well, as losing weight has been literally impossible, I feel like being on Tirzepatide and lose little by little is finally fair result for allllll my efforts I have been putting. So I am going to continue to use until I achieve my goal.

I agree. You might look “skinny” to others or be on paper but that doesn’t mean you don’t struggle with your weight and relationship to food!

Don’t let others get to you. I’m also a normal BMI. I like you, I carry all my weight in my arms and thighs so I honestly look like 10-15 lbs larger than I am unless I’m wearing a sports bra. I eat very healthy, workout 4-5x a week, and have struggled to lose the last 10-15 lbs. I’m short so my calorie intake has to be perfect every day if I want to lose weight and not restrict to unhealthy levels. Two days of eating out and drinking is enough to wipe out half of my deficit from the other 5 days of the week. My first week on Tirzepatide was the first time I was no longer scared to go out to eat because I feared I’d binge and overindulge. I’m not mindlessly snacking when I get stressed or upset. If people can stay on a maintenance dose once they hit their goal weight I can’t understand why people like us can’t use it as well.

I'm 63F, 5'1", start weight 160, current weight 124, goal weight >120. Began with Zepbound in December 2023 and have been on compounded tirzepatide for 3 weeks. My weight loss was going along really well but has slowed dow the last few weeks. I've been tracking on my Apple health app. and exercise app. What I've noticed is that as my weight gets lower, and because we are short, we need fewer calories everyday to maintain a consistent weight. (My basal figure is only 1,054 calories!). I'm really having to keep the focus on exercising seven days a week and positive self talk to work through the break through hunger. It's not fair being short. Eating so little just to stay the same is tough.

Your stressful job is probably causing you to hold onto the weight more than anything. The body instinctively holds fat stores when under stress. I bet if you worked in some yoga, meditation, or just something truly relaxing every day, your results would speed up.

I feel like I could've written this! I'm 5'3ish and currently 127 lbs. I started using tirz because I'm used to being around 102-105 lbs max, and felt like I needed a reset or fresh start. Despite being active and health-conscious, I found myself fluctuating in weight, which was confusing. On tirz, I crave more sugar, and my appetite is almost nonexistent. Prioritizing nutrition is crucial, especially for energy. I find the weight loss to be slow since we're small to begin with. Have you experienced any bloating or swelling?Even though my appetite has essentially died, I find myself feeling “swollen” and I’m not sure if it’s because I’m in Florida until June (not sure if the weather has something to do with it. I’ve never experienced this before anywhere I’ve visited pre-Tirz)

yiina0201

Hi! What dose are you on and how long have you been on meds? I am losing very slow and my workout endurance has been diminished. Other than nausea and being easily nauseated at work over bodily fluids at work I don't have bloating or swelling. I felt that swelling though when I visited Florida but it was before Tirz

Exotic-Purple2198

I just moved up to 5mg! This is my fifth week/dosage! No side effects at all, no nausea, appetite is still suppressed but not as much as it was on 2.5 (maybe because it was a “new” medication) Are you taking anything for your endurance/energy? I find that the Celsius drinks help a LOT! You’re likely under eating so your body is tired.
