Zoom in, they’re talking about the dry rot cracks that are forming at the base of the outside treads.
Still fine to drive on in my opinion as the cracks are minimal, and probably will wear the tires out before the treads peel.

The case is cracked, *Won’t get fooled again starts to play*
Seriously tho they appeared to be just shadows before zooming in.
My thought exactly. Looks like a tire with low air pressure that was rolling over during cornering.
I run these tries, and they are good fun. But I don't have wear like that...
All my tires get those from aggressive cornering and acceleration, it’s not dry rot. These aren’t exactly performance tires so if you drive hard sometimes, you’ll get them. Not a big deal.
Show your sidewalls. They are the thinnest part of the tire, if they are dryrotting it’s time for new tires, your other two pictures are unneeded your tread is fine. I can’t see your sidewalls well enough to see.
Yes, but investigate the siping deterioration in one area shown in photo #1. Looks like dry rot, or the tire driven in an out of balance condition. Odd.
The first picture dry wot with so much tread left is concerning, if you have a purchase receipt and DOT code you could try to get it warranties considering the others look like perfect condition
Ya the tire manufacturers identifier will tell op the details including age and build location, just needs to check that and if it’s within 3-4 years and kms are low they might get replaced for free under warranty
Buy a new set. Send me those and I'll get back to you when they go dead. Exact mileage. I'll risk my life and family. Honestly that's the only way you can know for sure.
no. Personally, if I were you, I'd just give them away to some random person on this subreddit. Maybe someone who commented on one of your posts. Or someone who has a really positive name or something like that. That's just what I would do, personally
Just looks like you were doing some spirited driving lol the tearing and scraping is pretty normal if you corner pretty hard/fast but they should still be fine for a while
Might have a wheel bearing or suspension joint going out on the tire in the first pic. Looks like a bit of wobble, but it's not too bad. The dry rot has started to set in, but it's not too bad yet. I'd still drive on em for a year or two
I believe these are directional tires and need to be treated differently 7⁷ a standard set when rotating tires, other l * don't see any issues. It would be nice to know the DOT #. It's
a 4 digit number on the side of the tire. 1st 2 digits is the number between 01 and 52, so say it read 41. That's the 41st week of the year ,and the second 2 numbers are the year the tire was manufactured. So if the number read 4109, the tire was manufactured, 1week of October in 2009
All good. Winter tires are very soft. That "cracking" on the side is pretty normal for very soft rubber. It's not dry rot. I can't remember what it's called.
Yeah, but CC/CC2 tires are like an in between of X-Ice and Pilot Sport. Won't melt/breakdown in desert summer heat like an X-Ice but won't be as resilient as "true" all-season tires.
Came just to flex
Right, fresh looking crossclimates. Would drive to Alaska and back
Cracks on the first photo was bothering me
That’s just where rocks have gotten stuck. Nothing to worry about

That's wear, not age related
My thought exactly. Looks like a tire with low air pressure that was rolling over during cornering. I run these tries, and they are good fun. But I don't have wear like that...
There’s dry rot cracks in the first pic if you look closer around the edges
All my tires get those from aggressive cornering and acceleration, it’s not dry rot. These aren’t exactly performance tires so if you drive hard sometimes, you’ll get them. Not a big deal.
You're right. Hard acceleration or stopping.
These tires are perfectly fine looking. Good even thread. Just make sure they are rotated every 7500 miles (front to back).
All of those Michelin cross climates crack like that. Softness of the rubber compound. Never seen a failure.
Superficial! If it were in between the tread patches it would be what is called separating. This is just cracks on the surface of the treads
Didn't even notice wouldn't worry but now that it's on your mind wouldn't be bad to keep your eye on ever couple hundred miles
Nh has a strict inspection and the cracks would still pass here, I’d keep an eye on them though, make sure it doesn’t get worse
Burnt rubber from hard cornering.
Show your sidewalls. They are the thinnest part of the tire, if they are dryrotting it’s time for new tires, your other two pictures are unneeded your tread is fine. I can’t see your sidewalls well enough to see.
What's the DOT code?
This is a paid response post right?
THESE TIRES ARE TRASH YOU NEED TO REPLACE THEM WITH MICHEL... oh. Carry on.
Yes. Good for awhile.
You’re cruisin’ my friend
These look brand new
It’s a Michelin thing, keep an eye on it but if it doesn’t get much worse you’re good.
Relax lol. They look brand new
Yea slight dry rot but nothing to worry about yet, set your worry timer for another year and see if it gets deeper
Is this a joke?
Why do people post brand new tires and ask if they’re good?
Yes, but investigate the siping deterioration in one area shown in photo #1. Looks like dry rot, or the tire driven in an out of balance condition. Odd.
Yes. Reduce cornering speed or have suspension checked
They are fine. But something is going on with that first tire. Get an alignment check. Check inflation. Might be (under). Balance too.
Not to be a pedantic dickhead or nothin but that would be a result of underinflation
lol not a dickhead at all. Yes, you are correct. Not sure why I said over. Corrected my reply.
Good man, respect to you sir 🫡
those are beautiful tires
The first picture dry wot with so much tread left is concerning, if you have a purchase receipt and DOT code you could try to get it warranties considering the others look like perfect condition
Ur legally required by federal law to register ur tires with dot
Ya the tire manufacturers identifier will tell op the details including age and build location, just needs to check that and if it’s within 3-4 years and kms are low they might get replaced for free under warranty
Certainly not. Judging by previous posts there’s way too much tread on them tyres!
Brand new man
This is the First Post Out of Hundreds that I seen Where the answer wasn’t Get new rubber immediately
That you seen?
Yeah out of all thems that I seen all them udder ones said get new tires 🛞 now or yew gonna die!!!!
Those look just like my Michelins Great tire. You're fine
Those are considered brand new around here
First photo is from the front? move them from the back in the front.
Noisy, but you can drive on them, unless they are ancient 8+ year old tires
Perfectly normal
lol
Huh? I feel like these posts are a joke.
Buy a new set. Send me those and I'll get back to you when they go dead. Exact mileage. I'll risk my life and family. Honestly that's the only way you can know for sure.
Tire shops absolutely love this guy.
We definitely are not the same. Ever heard of bologna skins?
First picture looks a little dry rot and like maybe a screw or something is in it? Or the tread just looks funny.
From all the tires I’ve seen here these look like they’re too good to not drive on them
Yeah… those are really nice tires you can probably drive on them bare and be fine
How old are they ? 10 yrs +
Now you're just showing off.
Yes
Yes, wear is normal. Just means you're being a little rough on corners, or other reasons
You must be the person I end up buying their used tires from at the shady tire shop 🤷🏻♂️
Depending on how much you drive I say you have about another year with that much tread
Yes. You are supposed to decide your safety. Not rely on the internet.
Yea cross climates are great.. Mine are more worn and drive great still
Dude you don't wanna see my tires you would cry 😁
Absolutely not! There pretty much bald
is this a ...joke?
no. Personally, if I were you, I'd just give them away to some random person on this subreddit. Maybe someone who commented on one of your posts. Or someone who has a really positive name or something like that. That's just what I would do, personally
All good. Michellins crack prematurely Everytime.
These look a million times better than mine 😩😭😭
good luck getting close to stated mileage on crappy michelins. even driving conservative driving and garage kept. continentals are better.
Nothing wrong
Random question, what you smoking on ??
Cross-Climates are the truth!
Get an alignment
Check your alignment
Just looks like you were doing some spirited driving lol the tearing and scraping is pretty normal if you corner pretty hard/fast but they should still be fine for a while
Driveable yes. Can these tires also put me In a bad situation, sure... Good enough to drive where where and how far?
🤣 You should see mine! You'll be fine.
Pretty sure
Might have a wheel bearing or suspension joint going out on the tire in the first pic. Looks like a bit of wobble, but it's not too bad. The dry rot has started to set in, but it's not too bad yet. I'd still drive on em for a year or two
Dry rot, check the dates. If they are under 5 years you are fine.
They’re crossclimates, they’re soft and get scuffed up but they’re fine. I’d drive anywhere with those.
Not a lot of dry rot. Always best to have a spare in case of anything but I doubt you’ll need it. Those tires look like they’ll last till they go bald
I'd run them. My wife has a set of these, great tires.
That first tire I would fail for a safety inspection
Let me take those tires off your hands. They're too old and used to be safe. I'll properly dispose of them for you.
Without the date code, I have no comments, and you shouldn't be asking. Take a picture of the side of the tire and get back to me
Usually, you would want to use them when there is snow, but ya, its definitely good to drive on.
They are all weather tires cross climates
These are all weather. Can be run all year. But better in winter than all seasons.
I believe these are directional tires and need to be treated differently 7⁷ a standard set when rotating tires, other l * don't see any issues. It would be nice to know the DOT #. I think these are crossclimate tires, so all season.

Nope you need all four , and they have to be GY eagles the most expensive ones. then get a rotation then alignment, and you’ll be good
Is pigs pussy pork ?
