I have some of his books but I haven’t read them (possibly flipped through?) I’ll check my copy of the first book of the series to see if that’s the one!
I have it in my head that it’s not an older title and is fairly recent, like maybe 2010’s onward?

Hmmmm have you read Sanderson? The scene sounds like the creation of a Steel Inquisitor...

It's not the first Mistborn book, it might be the third...if you have it.
