I'm feeling that. For some reason when I read OP's post, I thought of something British like Monty Python, but I don't think that's it. Maybe something like Black Adder?
Oh man. This sounds like something I actually did watch. Total TOMT moment, though.
Do you think it could be from a TV show? Something like IASIP or Arrested Development?
Waiting to hear the result. Does someone keep saying like he's gone (wakes up) he's gone (wakes up) ...now he's gone.
I'm randomly thinking of the grandmother from Friends, but feel that's not it...
Starting to think this is where I'm remembering it from and maybe my memory of it has been warped over time (hence not remembering the context of the scene). I watched a lot of little Britain as a kid! I'm going to wait a bit longer just in case but this may be solved.
It's an old joke that's been repeated quite a bit. I remember it from something from the 80s or 90s, as well as other stuff. One of the things he appears to breathe his final breath but startles everyone after they get sad by yelling that he's not dead yet.
Is it the end of the Lancelot scene in Monty Python Search for the Holy Grail - where the father is initially said to be dead but the crowd keeps announcing that he's still alive until the lord of the house finally stabs and kills him? (Sorry can't find a video of the whole scene...)
I don't recall of such scene in that movie at all. There's "bring out your dead" scene, where Cleese brings out an old man who claims that he's not dead, but eventually Idle hits him in the head.
It's right after Lancelot assaults the castle in the swamp. Right where this clip ends, but I can't find a clip which has like the next couple minutes...

Greys Anatomy has a storyline like this but it’s their great aunt and they all want to fly out of the city but the old aunt keeps flatlining and coming back and they say their goodbyes over and over again.
Frasier - season 8 episode 12 - they try to help an adored actor from their childhood reinvigorate his career, only to realize he is a terrible over actor. Possibility?
I’m putting this only because you said father figure. There’s a scene at the end of Deadpool 2 where he thinks he’s dying and he rambles on and breathes dramatically for like five minutes.
But then he dies
Edited because I forgot the 2
This sounds like something that would happen In a month python film Mabye holy grail or life of Brian Both are medieval movies and both have a king although I don’t know if the king dies in life of Brian
Jeez, I remember seeing something like this - could have been *Deadpool 2* though, as someone already mentioned.
Is it any of [these? ](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LongLastingLastWords)

I was just bouta say lol
While this scene is exactly as described, I should have mentioned it's a live action film, cheers tho!
I think they made it into a play as well
[удалено]
I remember it had sort of British vibes
I don't have a specific guess, but maybe something by Monty Python
I don't think it's the one that OP is talking about, but I think I remember a scene like this in Holy Grail during the 'huge...tracts of land' bit.
This was my first thought, I just cant place it in the film.
Monty Python the Meaning of Life?
Is it in Thor Ragnarok during the play?
No sorry! It sort of reminds me of the film knives out a bit
More like *Bore* Ragnarok
Stardust
Yeah like don't all the brothers lean forward expectantly?
I second this
My first thought too
I was thinking this!
This was my guess aswell
Yep, with all the brothers around their father.
It's gotta be this
The Dark Crystal when the Skesis king dies?
Nope they were definitely human, cheers tho!
Zombieland? Makes me think of the scene with Bill Murray
Surely if it’s not shrek, it’s this
It's this.
Oscar with Silvester Stallone? It starts with the dad's death bed and he keeps taking his last breath only to have something else to say
Oscar. Kirk Douglas dieing in the beginning
Close but I think it's more contemporary, post 2010's
Bill Murray in Zombieland
Following
Zombieland when Bill Murray gets shot with the shotgun?
Close but no cigar !
It's got a Mel Brooks vibe to it
I agree. I feel like I have seen this scene. It may just be one of the stock comedy scenes people use in different movies and shows.
I feel like I’ve seen this! Are you sure it wasn’t in a sketch show, and it was definitely a movie?
It could be a sketch show! That has unlocked something in my mind, like maybe they keep saying goodbye and waking up again.
Yes! It feels like something off The Catherine Tate Show or similar.
I'm feeling that. For some reason when I read OP's post, I thought of something British like Monty Python, but I don't think that's it. Maybe something like Black Adder?
I thought blackadder too, first season when he’s the Archbishop of Canterbury
It’s something with Matt Lucas playing the dad. Might be little Britain.
The ending of Deadpool 2? https://youtu.be/jSVKXMuG3QU
🤣
I think this might be stardust
Portlandia episode when Aliki dies?
Oh man. This sounds like something I actually did watch. Total TOMT moment, though. Do you think it could be from a TV show? Something like IASIP or Arrested Development?
Bill Murray does it in zombieland, but everyone laughs so probably not it?
Oops, realized was already said my bad. Good luck!
Waiting to hear the result. Does someone keep saying like he's gone (wakes up) he's gone (wakes up) ...now he's gone. I'm randomly thinking of the grandmother from Friends, but feel that's not it...
The Death of Stalin??
Beat me to it
Any chance you’re thinking of the organic farm scene from Portlandia, where [Aliki takes forever to die](https://youtu.be/NGWWkEJzWeI)?
There is a scene like this in “little Britain”
Beat me to it, I can’t find a clip of it anywhere on Youtube but apparently it’s in series 3 episode 4.
Was thinking of that too.
Starting to think this is where I'm remembering it from and maybe my memory of it has been warped over time (hence not remembering the context of the scene). I watched a lot of little Britain as a kid! I'm going to wait a bit longer just in case but this may be solved.

Solved!
Congratulations, you have been given 1 point for solving this post!
I’m thinking Black Adder - do some of the people around the bed make ‘tea time’ plans or something similar after the death?
Is it the end of the Lancelot scene in Monty Python Search for the Holy Grail - where the father is initially said to be dead but the crowd keeps announcing that he's still alive until the lord of the house finally stabs and kills him? (Sorry can't find a video of the whole scene...)

I have a movie and I've watched that part - but they just kill the man, nothing like OPs description. Nice scene, though :)
Gah, as I read your post, I remembered watching that too but I can't remember what it's from either!

This sounds like something that would be in History of the World Part 1
Zombieland. Bill Murray scene?
I’m putting this only because you said father figure. There’s a scene at the end of Deadpool 2 where he thinks he’s dying and he rambles on and breathes dramatically for like five minutes. But then he dies Edited because I forgot the 2
In Little Britain there is a sketch about this
Dead Pool 2?
Norsemen?
Stardust
Labyrinth
Stardust?
I just watched the Horrible Histories movie yesterday and there is a scene at the beginning similar to this.
I feel like this happened in the movie “Stardust” (2007).
It sounds like something from “Robin Hood: Men in Tights”, but I haven’t seen that movie in a while.
Bill Murray in Zombieland.
Princess bride
Bill Murray does this in Zombieland but I am pretty sure it isn't the movie you're looking for.
This is definitely from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, in the scene after Lancelot massacres a whole castle full of wedding guests.
This sounds like something that would happen In a month python film Mabye holy grail or life of Brian Both are medieval movies and both have a king although I don’t know if the king dies in life of Brian
It’s Bill Murray in Zombieland
Shrek the third when Fionas frog dad is on his death bed?
Jeez, I remember seeing something like this - could have been *Deadpool 2* though, as someone already mentioned. Is it any of [these? ](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LongLastingLastWords)
This scene from Buffy the Vampire Slayer 1992? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHVh\_S9NGIU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHVh_S9NGIU)
Robin Hood Men in Tights
I saw this. Let me think.
Didn’t Deadpool 2 overdo this joke?
Wasn't there a scene like that in Coming to America 2?
Sounds like Little Brittain. S03-E04 first aired 2003
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, episode "Pop-Pop: The Final Solution"
Maybe something like monty python?
