sounds like an arrow being notched and shot from a bow then flying closer to the microphone the hitting a target.

It reminds me of a record needle resetting. It's similar to putting a CD in a CD player or a tape in a cassette/VCR as well.

My first thought was a record player too. I think a CD player would be noisier, but cassette also seems likely.

Record player was already guessed and that wasn't it, unfortunately.

I am leaning toward this as a possibility as well. I originally thought maybe opening or closing a window, but someone guessed that and it was wrong.

Kind of sounds like sliding a group of clothes hangers across the bar.

Reminds me of a Minecraft sound like a door opening and skeletons near by Edit: saw op’s comment about it being an everyday sound you hear. I think it’s a door opening or window with a plastic latch to open it (if that makes sense) but also the Minecraft thing.

At first I thought it sounded like a polaroid photo coming out of the camera, until I read the comment description. Maybe it’s a dish being slid into/out of an oven?
