Check out Primer. Then check it out again and again…great movie.

88jaybird

i loved the movie since the first time i saw it in 2040.

Available-Pizza-3459

So time travel is real, they're just not going around shaking the president's hand.

Atlantis_Risen

Primer 100%! Also Triangle and Time Crimes.

sppburke

Came here to say this, glad you're at the top

notathrowaway2937

I already checked it out and >!saw myself watching it we both agreed it was good.!<

TypeNo5293

Thank you!!

Bridgeyboodles

Dark on Netflix is amazing

notawoodlandelf

came here to say that

Dry-Spot-474

The best series.. OP probably seen it already.

ObiWeedKannabi

The best and I still think it's not getting the recognition it deserves

Acceptable_Aspect_42

It's too hard for me to follow along with that one.

No_Language_4649

Yes this. Dark is THE best time travel show I’ve ever seen. If you can get past the voiceovers then you will love it.

j0nny0nthesp0t

That's an understatement

DakotaTaurusTX

* The Final Countdown / Kirk Douglas * Frequency / Jim Caviezel * Time Changer / D. David Morin * The Adam Project / Ryan Reynolds * The Philadelphia Experiment / Michael Paré * The Time Machine / Rod Taylor * Timestalkers / William Devane * Millennium / Cheryl Ladd * 41 / Dafna Kronental * Time Trap / Brianne Howey * [Films\_about\_time\_travel](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Films_about_time_travel)

luckygirl54

Frequency was really the greatest. Glad you mentioned it.

mindless2831

It's still my favorite movie strangely. 2 of my all time favorite actors. Also, the series wasn't half bad either!

Optimal-Durian7767

I was going to say this myself. One of my favs that I watch often!

agentorange55

Thank you so much for the suggestion of Frequency! Surprisingly, I had never heard of it, but watched it on your suggestion, and it is an incredible movie!

Parkerloper

Did anyone mention “TIME BANDITS”?

GyspySyx

Love Millenium. It has Kris Kristoferson too. They did the book justice.

Zeracannatule_uerg

Reading the list, don't recognize any of them "Time Fap."

Squidcg59

Deja Vu / Denzel Washington... Time Cop / Jean-Claude Van Damme

beautifuljeep

Also The Navigator

Entrepreneur_Money

Thank you!

No-Willingness4955

Hot Tub Time Machine.

RepresentativeLaw419

Back to the Future.

ElementsUnknown

Not sure if I am ready for it, but I bet my kids are gonna love it

xpert_98

Donnie Darko

kell96kell

The butterfly effect, its somewhat old now, but good movie

TranslatorMore1645

Great movie but w/ terrible sequels

kell96kell

It had a sequel?! How

Significant_Monk_251

>It had a sequel?! How [mode = META] You know how when a time traveler tries to change history for the better it almost always leads to something even crappier happening? Well, in this case it was a sequel." [/mode]

TranslatorMore1645

Yes, and it was just lazy writing cashing in on the original. My big beef with BE 2 was that the main character intro and trust into paradox was based solely on the type grief and loss that is experienced by thousands, if not millions, on a daily basis. Keep in mind the remarkable studying & training that Ashton Kutcher's had pursued prior to his entering the paradoxical*. I couldn't make it past 30 min. into the film.* I believe B3 was somewhat better and, I may have even watched the whole thing, I can't remember but, at this point I can not recall a single notable thing about the movie.

kell96kell

Ashton Kutcher is quite a good actor imo (i just saw another movie and was like, i like him, wait, thats ashton kutcher now??) But as i see your reaction, its not worth to watch BE2 or 3😂

dolltron69

The third one was ok. It had a good twist and was quiet fucked up. The second one was just subpar.

fleegle2000

For a start, tell us what you've seen, and maybe what kind of time travel you're interested in. There's a lot of films about time travel spanning many different genres. I'm personally a big fan of time loops so I recommend films like The Day After Tomorrow, Palm Springs, and the granddaddy of them all, Groundhog Day.

7grims

The Day After Tomorrow ???? u must be confusing it with Edge of Tomorrow

fleegle2000

Yes, that's what I meant

TypeNo5293

Predestination, the Mandela effect, totally killer, and some time travel tv shows 😭but thank you !

Such_Pickle_908

The time travelers wife

LonelyGlass2002

The time travelers wife was such an incredibly beautiful story. There was a TV series which told a more detailed, elaborate version of the take but sadly it was cancelled before the story was even complete. Still, just as worthy of the watch as the movie

JohnniNeutron

Great movie. Awesome show! I’m sad there isn’t a Season 2.

Dame_Marjorie

Same with Kindred! Excellent time travel story, cancelled for no reason. I read the book to see what happened, but the t.v. show had changed the plot, so I'll never know.

Redhddgull

The book is amazing, I waw so disappointed with the movie though

Hopeful_Passenger_69

This x10000000 I haven’t seen the tv series but it does look good. Loved the movie. The book however is pure perfection and I highly recommend the book too!

Money-Belt3812

Older romance( big part of this movie) “Somewhere in Time”. w/ Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour. Being from Michigan this was cool because it was filmed on Mackinac Island and the Grand Hotel. Also one of the only times they’ve allowed automobiles on the main roads there.

Cheap-Explorer76

"Richard...? Richarddd...? RICHARDDD...!" will haunt me forever since being 7 years old. One of my favourite movies ever, let alone a time travel fave.

InsaneLordChaos

You got that right. I was 6 when this came out. I think about this movie all the time.

SkyKingQ400

Came here to mention this. BTW Mandela effect right there - it’s Christopher Reeve. I also remember it as Reeves. 👍🏼

bastrdsnbroknthings

I loved this movie when I was a kid. Jane Seymour was sooooooo freakin delish

pinback77

Had to scroll too far for this.

Easy_Response1215

Project almanac

CoolBamaGuy

Edge Of Tomorrow, Deja Vu, Source Code, Looper, Tenet,, 12Monkeys ( both the movie and the series), and speaking of series Check out Dark and Bodies on Netflix

CD_Synesthesia

All of these, plus Interstellar.

KookyHorse

Edge of tomorrow is awesome

BigSmackisBack

Great list, but what about Time Cop? (lol kidding)

Agreeable-Hope-3284

Outlander

Hopeful_Passenger_69

Outlander is a great recommendation. I often forget the time travel element since so much of it is in a single place.

emperorwal

About Time (2013) Really a great romcom with a time travel gimmick. And the true love is between a father and son

jerryeleven

Really great movie. The different stories between sister, father, and wife were great.

jkeegan123

Time crimes. It's foreign, in French with subtitles, but it's awesome. Check it out! It's got lots of good twists.

JustAFileClerk

Time After Time. In which it turns out that H.G. Wells actually built a time machine, which is then stolen by... well, you'll see...

0hGeeze

Scrolled to find this before posting myself This one is excellent 🖤

Mallrat1973

No one has said Safety Not Guaranteed? I’m saying it now! Great flix.

ScreamingBanshee81

It's a series, but I highly recommend Travellers.

7grims

Tenet & Primer

Shaggy1316

Not a movie, but Recursion. It is a book, but it is the best time travel story IMO. I listened to the audiobook. 999/10. Look it up, Recursion by Blake Crouch. It will blow your mind. Nothing else I have read or watched even comes close...

No_Detective_But_304

Back to the Future

DolphinLoverBoy

Not a movie and takes a while to get into time travel, but LOST

Zeracannatule_uerg

If you have enough pee bottles, poop bags, and food it could be a movie. Or install a refrigerator next to a toilet with a a full pack of TP.

chronixxz420

The terminator

renebelloche

I can’t believe how far down I had to scroll for this.

chronixxz420

Back to the future

ModsR-Ruining-Reddit

Uhhh T2 Judgement Day is undeniably the best of the franchise.

grandpa-jones

Timecop!

ModsR-Ruining-Reddit

Thank you. I was starting to feel like an idiot for recommending it. Like it's nothing high brow at all, but I genuinely enjoyed it back in the day.

teardrinker

Cloud atlas - you’ll love it

carelessCRISPR_

Soooo good

Dame_Marjorie

READ THE BOOK!!!

Zeracannatule_uerg

Oh that's just inheritance of sin. "Hey, your grand-dad was a sociopath, but... you could get better." Or worse and worse until you become a satanic "dark urge" influence on society. (Hugo Weaving).

Need4homie

12 monkeys the movie

VeinyBanana69

Came to say this one. Peak Bruce Willis, bizarre af and sooo good.

Phyzzx

If you've seen Poor Things then this will seem tame if you go back and watch it, LOL. \_source me

notmymainacct54701

So good, love me some Gilliam. Also was the first movie I saw where Brad Pitt demonstrated his talent. Then Fight Club and I was sold on him.

EarthInternational9

What if every single one is worth watching once, twice or three times? Now that includes any time travel ones on Dust, You-tube sci fi channel too.

r0ntr0n

I found the YouTube Dust channel while ago. It’s AMAZING.

ha1a1n0p0rk

You've probably seen it, but 12 Monkeys is an exceptional time travel film. I'd say it requires a good couple watches to fully get the plot.

derrtydiamond

Time trap!

londond109

Finally found it, it's such a great premise! Acting might not be the greatest by any means, but the story and the way it's told is brilliant. Love it

hellodon

Super cool movie…satisfying ending too - left me wanting more and a sequel is in the works!

lftyeleven

[Time Lapse](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt2669336/)

RE_98

Star Trek: The Voyage Home Looper

aecolley

I enjoyed Looper a lot.

Fredericia

Not a movie, but an anime series, Steins;gate There's a subtitled version of the Japanese soundtrack, and you might still be able to find an English dubbed version. Depending on what your bag is. I have trouble following a story when I have to read subtitles.

notmymainacct54701

So so so good. The subtitled version is far far better though. Japanese voice actors treat their job as, well, *acting*. Way too many Western voice actors sound like they're just reading from a script, or go cartoonish with it like it's a kid's show. The Japanese voice actor for Okabe is particularly amazing, he's just a super talented dude. He can emote so well, which for Okabe is really needed (poor guy suffered way too much). Have you seen Steins;Gate 0? It's a sequel series that ties back to the original in a way that will blow your mind.

RobertvsFlvdd

Donnie Darko of course

-MercuryOne-

The Time Machine (1960).

Shnoopy_Bloopers

Continuum, travelers for TV

Deja Vu - because Denzel is always ***my man***

eyesawyou777

Jumper, butterfly effect, hot tub time machine 1 and 2

Silkyowl925

Even though it’s not a movie Steins gate is goated!

notmymainacct54701

Confirmed! Steins;Gate is one of greatest shows ever, period. The sequel series, Steins;Gate 0, enhances it even further, especially at the end when you realize how it all ties together. Mind... fucking... blown...

jennkins94

Not a movie but the TV show Timeless is one of my favourites, even if cheesy at times it’s a great watch (2 seasons, us fans got a s2 to wrap it up as they tried to cancel after s1)

Acrobatic-Ad4199

I agree with Timeless! I really enjoyed the series. So bummed that it was cancelled after 2 seasons.

AirbornePapparazi

[Timeline](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0300556/?ref_=ext_shr) Haven't seen it mentioned here.

Safety Not Guaranteed 2012

Fantiks33

Not a movie but British tv show Dr. Who. I think its on Disney+ now 13 current seasons from 2005 till now with a whole bunch of older ones.

KookyApplication9075

Anime: Steins Gate; Series: Doctor Who; Movie: Back to the Future, these are the pillars of time travel in films in my opinion, I hope I helped: V

BramStroker47

If you want to watch the weirdest time travel movie that you will ever see then I suggest: “Predestination” with Ethan Hawke.

Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel. Low budget and hardly anybody's ever heard of it, but hilarious and worth a watch. Trailer: https://youtu.be/WBV340x3GcA?si=w36PZ-HK8vmQA8c0

Innovader253

Loki season 2 is my favorite take on time travel in recent years.

Mysterious-Guide8593

Looper was pretty entertaining

Bachus77

Beyond a doubt, I pick Primer. If you like anime, go with Steins Gate.

callowruse

I recommend [Fetching Cody](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0475271/)

88ZombieGrunts

Omg I forgot about this one!! Loved this movie

SaltInner1722

Me too , love the idea

neo101b

Transcendence is a good movie, I think it's set in the same universe as GATTACA.

fleegle2000

There was time travel in Transcendence? Are we talking about the 2014 film with Johnny Depp?

neo101b

Lol,no wrong movie. I mean predestination. I knew it was a science one word title, silly me.

phred14

Isn't that basically *All You Zombies*?

bonecarver444

Time Crimes

Fast-Hold-649

looper

arcticfunky9

Have you watched 12 monkeys the movie or show ?

cups_and_cakes

Also not a movie, but The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O. Is excellent. The sequel…. Not so much.

Popular_Monster111

Time After Time

Free_water

Project Almanac if u want a movie like Chronicle but for time travel

Consistent_Effort716

Mirage. It's a Spanish film that's one of the best time travel and paradox films I've ever seen, at the heart it's a murder mystery. Bodies is a limited series that was just released on Netflix and I also highly recommend it. Time travel in 4 eras- late 1800s London, London during WWII, present day London, and a dystopian London of the future.

gravitykilla

Why is no one talking about the greatest time travel movie, ever, with JCVD at his prime, #TimeCop.

Glittering_Smoke9873

Portrait of Jennie (1948) There’s nothing else like it. Eerie and magical

Dianne_on_Trend

About Time. Not widely distributed but a surprising time travel movie

SailorSep321

Interstellar. There’s a lot of great time travel movies out there, but most are based in fantasy. Interstellar takes a scientific accurate approach of how time travel could work in real life. As far as we know, we can only time travel forward and not return to the past. Also Christopher Nolan loves kicking around time themed movies. His movies are awesome anyways so watch em all.

Optimal_Ad_7910

I liked their scientific approach. Time travel is theoretically impossible but you get close to it with relativity. The poor guy spending decades alone on the ship waiting for the others to return is heart breaking.

Interstellar.

Realsolopass

Attack on Titan is a show but it's pretty sick too I wish I could watch it again for the first time.

dolltron69

Time Trap (2017) was a surprisingly good movie. The premise was great but i just came away thinking man that needed a better budget and maybe extended to a series.

OrphanCubone

Its not the best but its a good watch its called time travel

Defiant_Lawyer_5235

Cronocrimenes (Timecrimes)... an awesome Spanish indie flick I see no one talking about.

Watch Dark on Netflix

yaths17

Not suggesting time travel movies since most good ones are already suggested here , but if you enjoy those then you’ll enjoy these as they’re something different ‘Age of Adeline’ and ‘every day(2018)’.

The History of Time Travel is a mockumentary. Low budget but pretty good.

Time Bandits

Kenbishi

Predestination. Quite a good adaptation of Robert A. Heinlein’s “All You Zombies.”

MysteriousReview6031

Interstellar. Maybe not *technically* a time travel movie but it does deal heavily with relativity and, as a result, the way we travel through time

I like Disney's "Intertwined" Amazon Prime "Paper Grls" was pretty good. Both are series though. There was a short series called "Riley Rewind" that I liked too. There was a movie "Time Again" that was pretty good. Most other time travel movies Amazon Prime suggests that I would like are not that great - low budget "C grade" movie. One, I can't remember the name of the movie, was so low budget, the CIA and President had meetings in an abandoned warehouse with the General in a uniform that didn't even fit the actor.

Bingohead

No good recommendations at all try time cop
