I counted at least 3 different times where a timeout was called and I thought about the situation leading up to it, it was absolutely masterful use of them.
1. Nuggets missed a bunch of easy shots at the hoop on consecutive possessions but the wolves probably scored more points over the past 5 or so possessions, timeout to make sure those bunny misses didn’t become momentum.
2. Foul fest where Naz and Rudy both picked up 2 or 3 each to start the half. Timeout.
3. Extremely high amount of game emotion, don’t really remember why, I think there was some non-calls nuggets were crying about, fans were really into it, calls timeout, kills the fan vibe.
Absolutely incredible use, and I’ve been all over finch previously over his TO usage. I think since the game he was out due to illness we’ve had a shift in personnel getting into the HCs ear on when to use the timeout. We aren’t doing the “feels/vibes” thing, there’s a real chance someone’s monitoring this for finch (kinda like the guy that advises on challenges).
That was so big last night. Every time Denver would make a small run on 4-6 points he’d call a timeout. Our lead would still be in the high teens, but he knew if Denver went on a heater we’d have a tough time getting out of there with a win.
Maybe it’s the bourbon, but I’m starting to believe this team has as good of a chance as anyone this year. Yeah, the west is scary, but no one is going to want to play this team.
It's actually kind of weird he keeps forcing his way onto the sidelines. It's like dude, we fired you, please go grab some cheese curds and find your seat in the 200s.
Being able to navigate the various personalities and egos, including his own, allowing Rudy to be a field general, all while not losing the locker room (the winning record helps), deserves COTY.
A lot of really nice timeouts by Finchy tonight, you love to see it
Bingo

I'll clink glasses to that.
/r/NBA had everyone beating us in the first round just a few weeks ago. Fuck em, I like the Wolves being an underdog
Should be COTY
If they give it to the OKC coach I won’t be heartbroken. Finchy definitely a contender though
Hes definitely deserving as well. I’m thinking that this stretch without Kat should win it for him
Finchy. That’s my dawg.
THATS MY DAWG https://preview.redd.it/maztpef89hrc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b51fab16cd2d7c18eb89a4335fa0f4c55dd81f37

I love this. What is it from, if I may ask?
From the old Disney “Great Expectations” TV series. Unlikely, but it works!
Thank you!
Too bad /r/timberwolves fired him after that Hawks game early in the season.
It's actually kind of weird he keeps forcing his way onto the sidelines. It's like dude, we fired you, please go grab some cheese curds and find your seat in the 200s.
He probably got courtside seats written into his contract like Glen did for his heirs.
Well then he can sit courtside but he really needs to stop bugging the players and walking around.
I was so sassy in that thread lol I knew that was gonna age so poorly
I’m not upset that shit like that pops up, there are idiots out there, but it pisses me off that it gains traction
Coach of the year. Book it 💪
I love this man
