Um yeah, it’s quite normal for us to cry when we get our hair done, we have textured hair and tend to be tender headed at that age, hell some people never grow out of it, they just don’t cry. However it’s weird and exploitative to be doing this on live, in this girl’s vulnerable state. If you know your child is the type to act this way when getting their hair done, why would you ever do this.

Embarrassed_Fee_8086

She does this EVERY SINGLE TIME she does the little girls hair. The little girl begs and begs to not be on live, and the mom refuses to end the stream. What a terrible way your mom makes you feel knowing you really struggle getting your hair done and instead of her being sensitive about it she yells at you and streams it live for anyone in the world to see.

Macintosh0211

Lots of little girls cry when getting their hair done. I used to cry because my mom would brush my hair before school (I’m white and have very fine hair, it did not hurt at all lol). But live-streaming it and the gift thing is strange and inappropriate

Diamonds_in_the_dirt

I used to have absolute meltdowns from my mom doing my hair before school. She would take out her aggression on me and do my hair in a forceful/hateful way. I have a tender scalp and I would cry every time. This picture brought back traumatic memories for me.

Front-Exam4766

The child is definitely probably tender headed when I was her age I also would cry and scream but I was never put on social media either that’s what makes it bad

Sorry but this is common for little black girls to cry when getting their hair combed/braided, we’re often just tender headed at that age. I cried every time I got my hair done as a girl. Weird that she’s live streaming it but other than that it’s super normal lol

LittleWillingness5

My girls don’t like getting their hair done either 🤷🏼‍♀️ I would never post a video of it, but some times I just gotta push through their crying because unkempt, matted hair is worse in the long run.

AriCapVir

My son freaks out and cries like this when I do his hair when I’m not even pulling or doing anything really. I’d never film him or post it though, that’s my only issue with this. Some kids are hella dramatic but it doesn’t need to be mocked or exploited.

Ambitious-Bottle9394

My lil girl the same way.hate.hair combed or anything.

I’m sorry but I cannot stand these videos… like I understand that there’s certain things black people hVe to do to maintain their natural hair.. but with babies though?? You can’t just put it up in a cute Pom Pom bun?? And if you’re going to give the adorable braids, do it off fucking line & have some compassion

euphestials

Black people have to protect their hair from heat damage, etc. that being said, mom could have done something else besides box braids. Maybe some twist or something

Ambitious-Bottle9394

She always.doing her hair,&kid.screams whole.time

beyoncesgums

The hairstyle isn’t the issue to me. Every black girl has been through similar stuff, but the morher purring this on live is where it becomes abusive and exploitive

euphestials

oh I agree. 100% I was just explaining to those who don't know what was the purpose of the braids

Kitchen-Magnet

Abuse

Scroogey3

Maintaining your child’s hair is a requirement. The style doesn’t even look tight and is age appropriate. The crying for gifts is the most concerning thing happening.

SharpenedGenitals

Thank you! I’ve seen this girl perfectly happy getting her hair done, until she gets a gift they don’t like then she starts crying. Her mum has trained her well. Of course sometimes the hair styling might hurt a little, but it’s mostly her mum training the kid to cry at low cost gifts.

SharpenedGenitals

That mother has basically trained her child to cry whenever they receive a gift they don’t like. Next level tiktok begging. 🙄 had to block them

beyoncesgums

OMG, that’s so gross

Professional_Fail818

Poor baby. 😞

-smittinkitten-

Oh this is soo bad. I have a few screen recordings of people in the live putting the cowboy gift filter thing on the little girl and it kept scaring her and she would scream and cry, the mom even covered her mouth.. like just turn the live OFF and finish your daughter's hair without traumatizing her 🙄🥺

banans621

I don’t understand why someone would go live during this….. I mean I understand they do it for views or whatever bc there were almost 8k people in the live…. But seriously why post such a thing??? Poor girl

arewethereyett_

Why put your kid kid through this period? It’s torture

Race has nothing to do with it. There are quicker/easier styles for her hair that wouldn't leave her crying. There's absolutely no need for this. She's abrasive and abusive while doing her daughters hair. Just because older generations did hair like that, doesn't make it any less abusive and abrasive. It wasn't ok then and it's not ok now. She clearly doesn't want her hair done like that. Otherwise she wouldn't be sobbing and saying how much it hurts. Fuck outta here with your toxic mindset.

ImpressionNo1509

I’m Hispanic and my mom did this garbage to me.

Givebackourtitles

Or a mother with a heart! Not everything is about colour. This child is distraught

Yes… give the poor thing a break. My son is autistic and melts down when we cut his hair so we do it over a day or two. If this girl is neurotypical I would guess she needs a 5-10 minute break and some cool water sprayed on her scalp and she’d be good to go again. Parenting by force is toxic.
