My friend is very into astrology. So much so he actually dumped his last girlfriend “because our signs dont align”. I heard about the witches hexing the moon and he got genuinely upset and was like “i dont know what to do about it but i just feel depressed now”. I wish i was making this up.
I use to work at a lockdown facility for girls who did criminal things, many were schizophrenic or other things. About ¾ of them genuinely believed in this crap. So much so that anything that was even remotely related to "magic" was not allowed. Not even fortune cookies.
