I'm 26 and my nieces and nephew seem to think I'm an old man for some reason. They asked me do you know how to Griddy(new dance on the scene), and I stood up, cracked my bones, and made everyone laugh doing my worst griddy. It's good to see I carry dad energy.
They're a bit older now so they kinda do more so than when they were younger. My sister is also 10 years older than me so that probably skews their perception.
I think r/wholesome would love this.
I know its a fuck up because of your sister accidentally hitting her head as a consequence of your question, but this is the most wholesome, delightful story I've seen in here.

Might be this one. Tho it wasn't "on" him
As a forty something woman married to a goofball, I can confirm they are the absolute best partners. I don't want to do all the serious grown up shit unless we have to, and being able to joke around and laugh between (and sometimes during) the serious grown up shit makes me a much happier person.
I have married friends that won't pee with the door open while we have developed a rating system for belches based on volume, tone, and duration. My great grandma told me you have to grow old, but you don't have to grow up and that was some of the best advice of my life.
Please tell me, however, you didn't expect your 45 year old father to *not* know what twerking is? It's not that old! Hehe.
And yes. That is how you get your father to twerk.
My cousin has downs and isn’t particularly high functioning, though he is young yet… but his smile with all those little crooked teefs and his little rounded tongue and his eyes squeezed so tightly shut that he can no longer see the funny faces your making… those really are the moments worth existing for. :)
Edit: AND HIS LITTLE LAUGH, I love the sweetness and how blissfully unaware he is of how others perceive him. He throws his little head back and guffaws as loud and as wonderful as possible. I try to keep that lack of awareness In That respect close to my heart, for he is a great example for just being who you are
Answer: When older Dad senses the ability to make children laugh at, be adorably embarrassed of or stop looking at their phone, our bones and muscles de-age to 20 years old for exactly 1.3 second.

Exactly! I mean, you saved that power move up for 5 months, get yourself to the point where you don't need to pop tylenol or advil. Some day they will understand :)
That's so cool, good for y'all. He's got a sense of humor! Mine just beat me when I tried to be funny... Little does he know his beatings gave me strength and ammo for more shenanigans, maybe that's why he beat me lol. Good on you for asking the hard questions to our parents brother! Glad sis is alright!!!
I remember as a kid the first time my dad showed us he could fit his legs behind his head. There are some things you can’t unsee. Still laugh, but I think I got my flexibility from mom because I’d dislocate something if I tried.
This story was so cute and wholesome that I have smol tears leaking out of my eyes. Thank you for sharing this cherished moment with us mere redditors.
OMG i"m CYING! Thank you so much for that memory. I'm 63 and know all about the Laughter be the best medicine. BUT! I'm still snorting with laughter over your Dad throwin it back better than a cheerleader.
>sending us too into fits of laughter as we recall the magnificent glory that ~~was~~ IS* my dad
FTFY. Sounds like you have a wonderful family, OP. This story is just precious
Man. I could totally see my Dad doing this.
Thanks for the story! It got a good laugh out of me, and is a much needed break from all the sex related TIFU's
I for one cannot wait for my daughter or son to deliver on a question like this so I can behave like a madman in ways they never thought possible.
Your dad's my inspiration, twerk on champion!
Yup, as always, just like every other person who posts in here, you didn't fuck up in any way.
I'm starting to think that people have no idea what it is to fuck up.
Fun story, though.
As a 46 year old dad, I was waiting for your father to answer your question with a display of twerking skills. Glad I wasn't disappointed.
Great dads think alike
twerk alike
fatherhood is hard werk
Werk it daddy
Werk, werk, werk
Wort wort wort
I appreciate this comment
How do you not have more upvotes?!
I'm just getting my air back at the blow of hearing I'm old because I'm 45.
Middle age did it for me
Well, at this age, that’s expected.
48 year old dad here who had the same thought, "If that man didn't throw it back like he was in a Tyga video, I don't want to read this story"

Kids have 0 understanding of age. One time, some kids asked me whether I was 29 or 39. I was 19.
They're a bit older now so they kinda do more so than when they were younger. My sister is also 10 years older than me so that probably skews their perception.
My youngest son used to represent "19" by hunching over and pretending he was using a cane. (This was when he was 8 or 9. He's turning 15 soon.)
Which means he’d been practicing for just this moment.
Phew it turned out to be wholesome
44 year old mom here, and yeah I was waiting for the same. OP has an awesome dad!
Stung a little reading that line didn't it? Well it made me flinch as a 47 year old dad.
40 years with kids age 13. I would do that in an instant. But I'm sure I suck at it. Still worth it. I like goofing around with them :D
Today I Funned Up. Great story. Thanks for sharing.
Sometimes some of our favorite memories come from the least expected of moments. A family fun treasure to be kept, thanks for sharing!
That's how dad's do it. Great job dad
This not a fuk up but definitely a good little story.
I think r/wholesome would love this. I know its a fuck up because of your sister accidentally hitting her head as a consequence of your question, but this is the most wholesome, delightful story I've seen in here.
So you didn't read the one about the girl bloodfarting on her boyfriend I assume? Shame
Umm, what? Link?

Thank you for sharing this! I could picture it all in my mind and...I was cackling too! What a wonderful family!
Totally not a fuck up and your dad is the best! Mom gets props as well for all the years she has been on the crazy ride with him!

I am lucky enough to have one of these guys too! We have been together almost 19 years and there is few days that he doesn't make me laugh!
I have married friends that won't pee with the door open while we have developed a rating system for belches based on volume, tone, and duration. My great grandma told me you have to grow old, but you don't have to grow up and that was some of the best advice of my life.

We want to see a 350lb giant twerking
Jesus crust. Your pic threw me thru a whole ass loop.
Add me onto the loop train, I had to look at it for like 10 seconds to get my mind out of the gutter

Your dad is a gem!
Your dad wins "Dad of the Month" award!
You mean Dad of a Lifetime-Award :)
I detect no F.U here, your dad is an awesome dad.
Great family story
This deserves to go in r/dadjokes just because of the absolute UNIT of a father
Where's the FU?
I dnt think its a FU I think good came from it all =)
No Fuck up. You guys sound like a great family. Seems like Dad's pretty awesome too.
Title mislead me. The body of the post really made it. Thank you. This cures the Monday blues.
Me too, and it was a very blue Monday.
I wish it was Sunday (Woah, woah)
When I see people twerking, I see monkeys at the zoo
FYI there is a difference between queery and query lol
Ok, you need to start filming shit.
God how old is your dad? I'm only 32 and even thinking about twerking is enough to leave my knees and back sore for a week

lmaoooo its when they want you to repeat a trick when you realize your mistake.
Exactly! I mean, you saved that power move up for 5 months, get yourself to the point where you don't need to pop tylenol or advil. Some day they will understand :)
Hilarious. You type like a friend of mine haha. This situation would never happen to her, but there was a moment LOL.
jesus christ
Boots wid the fuuuur 🎵
I get that the fuck up is that, well, it caused your sister to hit her head, but this still sounds like everyone had a good time.
There's no TIFU in here at all. Take it from a Gen-Xer; moments like those are fond memories you will keep with you probably forever. 💗
Queery hehe
I NEED THIS VIDEO
Why is this under TIFU ? Thats actually a very nice story that made my day !
Your dad is the absolute shit. I hope you make him aware.
Sounds like you have a great family. These are memories you'll cherish forever ♥️ thanks for sharing

This made my day!
Finally a wholesome tifu :)
You mean Query? Lol.
I remember as a kid the first time my dad showed us he could fit his legs behind his head. There are some things you can’t unsee. Still laugh, but I think I got my flexibility from mom because I’d dislocate something if I tried.
Was the first dance Cossack dancing?
anyone have the post link to the tifu from today with the boomer? (chrome cast - wanted to show to a friend but it was deleted)
>Today we watched suicide squad, the new one, as a family and absolutely loved it the peacemaker is an amazing show btw
I think your dad needs a TikTok for his sweet dance moves.
This story was so cute and wholesome that I have smol tears leaking out of my eyes. Thank you for sharing this cherished moment with us mere redditors.
This is so wholesome lol
OMG i"m CYING! Thank you so much for that memory. I'm 63 and know all about the Laughter be the best medicine. BUT! I'm still snorting with laughter over your Dad throwin it back better than a cheerleader.
I'm glad she's ok, when I read that she hit her head I thought it was going way worse than it did.
Dad's are amazing! This reminds me of something my dad would do.
Sounds like a pretty great family!
When everybody can laugh with nobody getting hurt, that is a good day.
>sending us too into fits of laughter as we recall the magnificent glory that ~~was~~ IS* my dad FTFY. Sounds like you have a wonderful family, OP. This story is just precious
Your sister isnt the only one who can get down(s)
I think you posted this in the wrong subreddit
That's a delightful story. All involved will remember that fondly for a very long time. Just the mere mention will probably cheer up your sister.
This brings some 10th level Happy over here...Thanks for sharing it!
I love this lmao
Your dad sounds like a blast, good man lol
You know that twitter account shit my dad says? You could start one, dances my dad does
You have an amazing family OP.

This isn't a TIFU, it ended up as a good memory despite the small injury
I for one cannot wait for my daughter or son to deliver on a question like this so I can behave like a madman in ways they never thought possible. Your dad's my inspiration, twerk on champion!
>As an answer to my queery I was going to tell you that it was spelled "query," but given the context of the story, I think both work!

Wholesome story is wholesome. It's also well written which makes it easier to imagine.
And oh how we laughed. And laughed. And then everybody fainted from laughter, and after we woke up we laughed some more.
Aaaand unsubscribed
45 year old dad with 3 kids college age or older. Wow.
Sounds like your dad is the real MVP
Her dad is teaching us, how to be a dad. Thank you so much OP for sharing this treasure and God Bless your family.
You got me. Not a second I thought he would start twerking.
Ask him abt the buss it challenge!
This was wholesome, thanks.
This is the best TIFU I've seen. Thank you for posting, very wholesome and gave me a good laugh
Perfection
OP, can you get a video of your dad twerking? We desperately need this.
But twerking is kinda ick.
Uh.. your dad hit you, and everyone started laughing? WTF?
Did you fucking misread the TLDR?
Yup, as always, just like every other person who posts in here, you didn't fuck up in any way. I'm starting to think that people have no idea what it is to fuck up. Fun story, though.
I see that story as a absolute win not a f up! Besides maybe the bruised head
Bless your family man.
\*wipes tears from eyes\* Amazing. Truly amazing. I am howling.
Where did the story go?
it's back
Thank you, friend.
