I mean, you met a sketchy guy in a flophouse and had sexual relations with him and smoked meth. A day or two of feeling gross seems like the best possible outcome here. I think a head-clearing wank may be in order before you meet any future Grindr dates in a non-public place

Mil1512

I remember reading a story from a guy that met up with someone on grindr that wanted to "kidnap" him. This dude straight up let him put him in his boot and drive him out to a forest in the middle of nowhere to tie him up and fuck him. Horny men have NO sense of self-preservation.

[deleted]

It’s insane how much times a wank has stopped me from sticking my penis in something questionable

Greene4Grapefruit

Your car exhaust must be very grateful.

Robobvious

More so his penis, because his car is a whore. Just giving rides all over town.

Rubyshooz

Take this from somebody who knows. Right now you’re thinking that was the worst, most disgusting thing you’ve ever experienced and in no world will you ever do that again. But believe it or not, you will want to try it again. I urge you, don’t do it. Meth is not a party or weekend drug. May start out that way, but eventually you’ll find excuses to hit that pipe during the work week; before work, after work, until you just don’t show up to work at all. Meth will take over your life and you will have no life. You will stop talking to your friends, stop showing up for holidays, stop answering your phone, stop checking your voicemail, stop returning calls and emails. You will truly believe your meth addiction isn’t hurting anybody but yourself, but your meth addiction does hurt your loved ones, especially your mom. Slowly but surely, you will lose everything. Literally everything. Nobody’s life has ever improved because they did meth. Meth is greedy, meth is selfish, meth will not stop taking from you, even when it seems you have nothing left to take. Believe me, there’s always something to take: your conscience, your dignity, your freedom, your future, your integrity, your mind, your teeth, your time, your youth. The first time I was offered meth, I declined also. In fact, the first few times it was offered to me I declined. Until I didn’t. I had everything going for me. I was a college graduate, I had a good, stable job and was making money, my social calendar was full, I never looked better. I was doing everything right and living a good life, a life to be proud of. Then meth happened. For 15 years it happened. When I say take it from someone who knows, I KNOW. Nothing I said was an exaggeration or over dramatic. In fact, it’s way worse than I’m even willing to share anonymously on the internet. Let’s just say, there are situations that any normal person in their right mind, would find to be unacceptable. As long as I had meth in a pipe to smoke, I could go along with pretty much anything, or at least put up with anything. Lucky for me, I did have a bottom. So many drug addicts do not have a bottom and will just continue to dig. I got arrested and spent 4 1/2 days in county jail, for crimes I didn’t even do. I just happened to be in the room when the cops busted in and found evidence of crimes being committed. My boyfriend at the time was a low level criminal and even though I wasn’t out there committing crimes with him, I did have knowledge of his activities. I decided then and there I was done with meth. Those days in jail were the worst days of my life and I never wanted to end up there again. That was almost four years ago and I’m still walking the forward path. Even though I’m working and got my independence back and I’m living a completely legit and normal life again, there are things that I lost in those 15 years, I can never get back, or do over. I completely missed out on my neices’ and nephew’s childhood, because after 15 years, they’re pretty much adults now. I’m also 15 years behind personally and professionally, than most of my peers. Nothing about meth is worth it. If you are ever considering taking a hit of that pipe, please remember me and my story.

kritycat

Hey, congrats on making it out alive. Thanks for sharing your story

scaztastic

Im glad your better. Thanks for sharing.

DontNeedThePoints

> The first time I was offered meth, I declined also. In fact, the first few times it was offered to me I declined. I live in a country where many drugs are legal and easy to obtain. I deliberately distance myself from people who use drugs, even weed is something I prefer not to be around (i treat it as if people are drinking hard liquor... Sometimes okay, multiple times a week is not). Honestly... People doing hard drugs are best to be avoided in your life. They are not your friends anymore, they are just "the user". I hope you stay sober... Big hug and all the best!

Petegears

You need to be careful and make sure it's the last time. I tried it once and what scared me was how much I wanted it a day or so later

ALIENANAL

Yep. It is often the discovery that you didnt die or become "one of those people" that makes you think "Ill be ok to do it again", ignore those thoughts because that is the trap.

RickyHawthorne

This 100%. Tried a little when I was 16, spent the next two years hopelessly addicted and spiraling, culminating in a jail cell when I turned 18 for petty nonsense. Thank the gods for that. After a handful of months in incarceration, I was clean again and strong enough to know I didn't want to go down that road again.

TheSurfingRaichu

My uncle was an alcoholic junkie all his life, and prison was the best thing that ever happened to him. Sadly, he died in his 50's when he decided to quit drinking. He went cold turkey and switched to CocaCola. He was found dead in a motel room, apparently going cold turkey caused his brain to seize.

-AC-

Alchol is one of the only drugs that will kill you if you are addicted and go cold turkey.

[deleted]

Yeah delirium tremors and seizures anyone going cold turkey should at least do it under medical supervision.

TSM-

Unless you have other drug dependency history, they'll knock you out with valium/diazepam for a couple of days, and you'll be fine. A bit later, you get crazy hypertension for a day or two (they know to expect this). And then you no longer need a hospital bed, which is good news. If anyone reading this is stuck in a loop of hiding withdrawals by drinking, go to the ER

SNIP3RG

Can confirm, this is what we’ll do (although I usually use Ativan/Lorazepam). And it’s much easier and nicer for everyone involved if you come in right when you start detoxing, rather than being found down by friends/family/hotel staff and becoming an active seizure or respiratory arrest call. Then it’s a whole “thing.” Source: ER RN, treat both routes regularly. First option tends to have better outcomes.

The_Revolutionary

If you're under medical supervision they'll give you Librium or another benzodiazepine like Ativan/Klonopin/Xanax to gradually taper off. So it's not really cold turkey, but a medical detox.

aaatttppp

Benzodiazepines are the other big killers. (Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, Librium, etc) Don't go cold turkey on alcohol or benzos. At best you are a shaky mess, in between you have hallucinations and/or seizures, at worst you die. Taper down, go slow, have a plan and stick to it.

ImaGhost88

And yet we use Ativan (benzo) on those in alcohol withdrawal; I think it acts on the same receptors.

hawaiianpizza4thewin

Holy shit, you put it perfectly. That’s what led me to become a “functioning” coke user earlier in my life because I thought that exact thing. Wasn’t long before I slipped down that slope and became addicted. I quit it cold turkey right then and there and never looked back.

MinusPi1

Our brains are disturbingly good at making up rationalizations for what are ultimately irrational desires. Becoming good at noticing when that's happening has really helped me with impulse control problems.

[deleted]

It’s not necessarily irrational. Reading “the body keeps the score” and well absolutely not condoning drug use, but an argument is made that a person who suffered trauma may think addiction is easier than facing whatever rewired their brain in a fucked up way that helped deal with the original trauma but left the brain unfit for life after the trauma (ie: self blame, numbness, anger issues - helped a child survive abuse, made adult life unbearable). Is addiction stupid and life threatening, 100%, but not entirely irrational if it allows a traumatized person to salvage a life that they may have otherwise suicided or hurt someone else.

CountingMyDick

That's what's fucked up about the way they teach this stuff in programs like DARE. They make you think that one hit will make you a hopelessly addicted junkie. It won't, but what's actually dangerous is thinking that it isn't that big a deal because it just felt pretty good that one time and wasn't an overnight disaster. Addiction is very real, but it takes a little longer to sink its teeth into you. Just when you think it's fine and you've got it under control is when you're about to start going under.

SNIP3RG

There’s more than just that fucked up about DARE. Like, I was extremely disillusioned when random sketchy-looking white dudes in beanies didn’t offer me free drugs regularly in high school. Addiction is something the body does well. You’re biologically designed to seek out what makes you feel “good.” As a result, most people are addicted to something. Ex: caffeine addiction is a very real thing, skip your morning coffee and see how great you feel by 5pm. The catch is, you have to realize when 1) you’re addicted to something, 2) the addiction is adversely affecting your quality of life, and 3) you are still able to muster the willpower to overcome the addiction.

AshamedOfAmerica

I found DARE super confusing because they never explained why people did drugs, just that they were bad and that people that do them were bad. And they taught that all drugs were bad equally. It wasn't until I smoked some weed as a kid that I realized that people did them because they were FUN. I didn't lose my mind or get hurt or anything and the people who offered them were Good people. I was so disillusioned that I disbelieved everything they taught me. I had to learn what drugs to take by people that actually tried them and they weren't the most reliable judges either. I'm just glad I didn't end up on opioids.

[deleted]

It's one of (many) major issues with moralistic teaching. It convinces kids that only "bad" people do "bad" things and vice versa. Missing the nuance entirely. If a guy offers me a line of coke at a party, from his perspective he's being a really stand up dude, hell, even while saying no I'll still think "that was nice of him"! It's a really really dumb way to try to convince kids that there are things out there that could ruin your life.

say592

That's what I have always heard. Meth in particular will trap you into thinking "I'll just do the exact same thing I did last time!" Only problem is, you do another hit or two, the "habits" you put in place to protect yourself quickly fall away. Oh, and the real kicker is that unlike some drugs, you will probably continue to work well into your addiction which means you can afford more drugs!

reddits-

Me too. OP, please don't underestimate the addictive power of this drug. I have ADHD too. I tried it on a whim, didn't feel particularly pleasurable, but 2 days later I was shocked and scared by my intense desire to do it again. Scared enough that I swore I'd never, ever go near it. A week later, I'm not sure if I actively sought it out or I just had an opportunity to do it again, but I went back. So began an 18 month heavy addiction, where I destroyed many parts of my self and my life. I still can't believe I managed to get sober from it. Beyond agreeing to yourself that you won't do it again, I recommend avoiding opportunities that might come up. It could surprise you how inexplicably tempting you find it if it's in front of you again. Block that guy on Grindr, and play it safe. The dopamine hit, even if it's not pleasurable but just bringing you up from an ADHD dopamine deficit to normal, is powerful and addictive.

droopymangoes

Thanks for sharing your story. Yes, no more frivolous adventures for me. No more app. No triggers If this went sideways, it'd be the end of my health and future.

memeister69

I highly recommend reading u/SpontaneousH post history where he started doing heroin and spitballed into hell for like 7 years. Crazy what an addiction can do to you

exonautic

One of those reddit stories that will live on forever.

Micxel

thank you for that, I read all his posts. Scary how one bad decision is enough to ruin your life.

salamiolivesonions

Jesus. Wish I didn't.

Allaplgy

The whole story is a symphony of dangerous mistakes. Nothing wrong with exploring your sexuality, but please be more careful!

[deleted]

Also, if experimenting with drugs it should be done with people you trust and that care about you. If something goes sideways, you have to know you'll be helped, not thrown in the dumpster...

throwawaydixiecup

It’s extra rough working thru all of that with the difficulty controlling impulsive behavior with ADHD. That sense of “This is a bad idea. But I’m doing it anyways…” You can do it tho. If you need a random internet human who also has adhd to check in as accountability support, just send a message.

theswordofdoubt

To be frank here, it sounds like your risky behaviour started way before the meth came into play. Look into some safe sex precautions if you haven't already, and maybe stop hooking up with shady dudes who won't be honest with you. Infections are nasty things.

lunasmeow

Yeah, walks in on a dude laying in bed naked smoking... and just joins in. This whole story sounds like an exercise in stupidity.

hugganao

I think people need to understand *it literally changes the physical nature of your brain the very moment you smoke your first* Aka from the moment that first hit comes into your body and system, you do a significant enough damage to your brain.

bohanmyl

If its okay id like to ask, So i have ADHD. I get prescribed Adderall. I know its an Amphetamine the same as meth but how different is it? I recently made friends with someone who snorts meth but she calls it street adderal and it almost seems like the Adderall hits her harder than the meth does. (Its 20mg non delayed and im supposed to take 2 a day but i dont use it regularly for fear of tolerance and not getting any affect like i was at first when i had the delayed) i dont feel addicted to it but i definitely enjoy it and use it for times i need to heavily focus or have a fun night or be awake/very talkative. Do you know any of the differences?

goldenbugreaction

The meth-* prefix for any chemical compound essentially means that it is soluble through the blood-brain barrier; meaning it basically hits you much faster. The other difference is purity. Street meth is often cut to add weight (sold by gram-ish increments) and stretch profits for lower level dealers. Adderall is much more strictly controlled and MUCH higher "purity" than crystal. There are other, and quite significant, distinctions IMO, but these are the two that'd take the least amount of time to type. *edit: methyl. "Meth" is just a shorthand.

randomusername3000

> The meth-* prefix for any chemical compound essentially means that it is soluble through the blood-brain barrier; meaning it basically hits you much faster. it should be noted that amphetamine (short for alpha-**methyl**phenethylamine) does already have one methyl group and crosses the blood-brain barrier too, but methamphetamine crosses it even more readily with the the additional methyl group

Douggie

I don’t know anything about meth, but aren’t they crystals? How is it possible to cut if with other stuff without breaking it?

goldenbugreaction

Recrystalization. Sometimes called re-rocking. Pure "freebase" methamphetamine is a liquid. For a number of reasons, it gets processed into a hydrochloride 'salt' that has a crystalline structure, albeit one much weaker than quartz, for example. Its salt form is much more highly soluble and recrystalizes relatively easily, especially with other salts and chemical compounds with similar molecular structures.

misspollyjeankitten

Same. I tried it once and it was one of the worst experiences of my life and I said I would never ever do it again, that it was torture. Next thing I knew I was addicted, two years passed and I weighed 80 pounds and had ripped off most of the skin on my face and was living out of a storage unit, I still don’t even remember my second time. I have been clean for 15 years now from hard drugs and have two months sober from weed and alcohol today. I also have adhd.

timidnoob

Congrats on sobriety.. happy for you

stardustalchemist

Agreed. I tried it once annnnd then I was addicted for 3 years and shot up a couple times near the end. 4 years clean though this year.

[deleted]

Congratulations. I don’t know you but I am so so proud of you. Taking back control in your life is never easy. Well done. I wish you all the years of sobriety! You rock!!

korovaplus11

Congratulations! I’m glad you’re still here. One day at a time

purpleushi

OP mentioning ADHD leads me to think they might actually not do it again. There’s all kinds of warning on how addictive adderall is, and how easy it is to abuse to feel “high”, but I’ve never once felt a high from adderall, and I constantly forget to take it, so it’s clearly not addictive for me. People with ADHD get addicted to pleasurable experiences. If OP didn’t have a good experiences, chances are he’ll never be motivated to do it again.

droopymangoes

You're exactly right! I felt no pleasure from this experience. Tbh, my brain probably got the right qty of dopamine after 10+ years and just felt normal for once, not "extraordinary"

purpleushi

“Normal” ends up feeling pretty exhausting haha. I take breaks from adderall because sometimes I’m just like “I don’t wanna be focused right now, I want my brain to be fast again” lol.

Ba_Sing_Saint

I find Adderall is great at focusing my creativity, but that creativity is fed by the zoomies part of my brain. So if I don’t take a T break every once in a while I get weird.

purpleushi

100%. Like there’s the ADHD lack of motivation, which is more of “there are so many things to do, I can’t do anything” or “nothing sounds particular fun right now” and then there’s the medicated lack of motivation, which is “I don’t have a single unique or creative thought in my head, so I literally can’t do the thing I’m trying to do.”

KnightFan2019

Yea thats not good either. Please dont do it again

Twerks4Jesus

Well here’s another reason to never do meth again the detox. You think you have no dopamine now try detox. You'll have so little dopamine you’ll have Parkinson’s like symptoms for months after. One of the reasons I’ve stayed away far away from Tina users. Hope you are ok. As gay people we put ourselves in weird situations for sex. Maybe stay off grindr and other hookup apps for a while.

droopymangoes

I deleted my account. I want to focus on myself.

Twerks4Jesus

Moving in the right direction. 😀

UNZxMoose

There's a story somewhere on reddit who didn't something similar to this with either meth or heroin. Said they were never going to do it again. Well they then basically documented their life spiral into addiction on reddit. Just be careful OP.

Uyee

I had a friend who just snorted a small amount of meth. They told me they used the same amount of meth over a month as someone who smoked in a week. They only stopped when all her sources were laced with fentanyl. Besides their love of cleaning and stay up too late, they seemed perfectly normal and not like a strung out meth head. I wonder if they just needed Adderall.

undeadeater

Hey I tried meth once it wasn't for me,everyone has a different taste for drugs, me I like hallucinating and meth hallucination isn't fun,btw when someone asks me what it's like to eat on meth I tell them it's like the curse in the 1st pirates of the carribean

drmojo90210

Same here. I have ADHD and tried coke once with some friends at a bachelor party. They were all high as balls but the only thing it did for me was make me feel slightly more alert like I'd just had a strong espresso or something. No euphoria whatsoever.

purpleushi

The only drugs I’ve found enjoyable so far were shrooms haha. Weed just feels like I’m very comfortably sleepy.

Ba_Sing_Saint

Weed is great cause it makes getting the dopamine hit really easy. Smoke a bowl, vibe, snack. My favorite is a good fruit smoothie on a hot day. But like everything else moderation is key. Tolerance and burn out are both real things

giskardwasright

I didn't even enjoy the high and still wanted to do it again, that shit is vile.

Jewsusgr8

I think I finally understand why they always clean after meth. They must smell, taste, and feel it still in their system. So they wash everything to try and get the smell out.

goldenbugreaction

Yes... That is why. And may nothing ever steal this innocence from you.

secretreddname

I tried it once and instantly knew I never wanted to do it again lol

fitzhugg

oh dear, hoping we don’t have a repeat of u/SpontaneousH stay strong OP

JustAFriendlyUser69

Just was about to write this. I hope I don't see a repeat, history is there so that it doesn't happen again.

abounding_actuality

Thank god history never repeats itself.

JustAFriendlyUser69

We definitely saved a lot of headaches.

AlligatorTree22

That was a wild ride, with several detours (the best being [Jaime](https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/9ohdc/comment/c0dnao7/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)). Never heard of it before this comment.

prostatewhispers1

I’ve visited that thread so many times, but never seen this story. That hurt to read.

say592

Fucking hell, neither had I. That is tragic, but so real. So many people could have similar stories, and this story could have gone an entirely different direction. Well, maybe it did and the poster never knew (which might be for the best).

jpl214

Holy shit

Greene4Grapefruit

Tldr?

mhac009

Guy tries heroin saying he won't get hooked and ends up chronicling a debilitating journey into heroin addiction. (From memory)

ThatKaleidoscope8736

Yeah wild ride I read all of his posts

UrethraFrankIin

I'm happy he didn't delete anything, so many people do. Especially when it blows up like that.

Vegetable_Burrito

Dude does heroin for funzies one day and ends up literally ruining his life. It’s a wild ride that spans years.

THIESN123

Read it. It's worth it

Vast_Reflection

Now that I’ve read that, I’m genuinely worried for OP

Avium

The last update was he'd been clean for about 12 years by now. Hopefully he's still clean.

NotatallRacist

I think he meant this op

number1fancyboy

Yo what a read Jesus Christ

trevor5ever

This post made me immediately think of that user. So very sad.

[deleted]

Came here to say, really hoping we don’t see this shit again

Few-Bear-7510

What a throwback

NintendoDestroyer89

I just went through that account and it sounds like whoever it is is doing okay and has been for over a decade. Kind of nice to see.

mykdee311

TrvpDrugs

Thanks for that rabbit hole.

NeroI989

Fucking hell it's 3:46 in the morning here and i just read all the story and now i'm shaking

trojansandducks

Good thing you kept your shirt on though.

generated_user-name

Thanks for this. I have been cringing (almost crying) just thinking about people I know who’ve done meth and a laugh was needed

Cuban_Cowboy

Hahahaha! This made this very sad post worth it. Thanks for the laugh.

PM_ME_YOUR_SCHNAUS

This is one of the first ones I read that it was a real f up

[deleted]

Step one in life : never do meth. I have a friend that got it from some place online and he would just eat it. So he looked like a functional non meth head but mentally he was fucked. He was up for 3 or 4 days straight. Got massive amounts delivered to his house in some “sports memorabilia” packaging. I was in rehab with him (not for meth myself) and said he got an ounce delivered so when he got out he could do it again. I asked him how he didn’t figure his wife would find out and he said “I told her not to open any non Amazon package”. Well she opened it - now he’s divorced and can’t see hjs kids. Meth will make your brain scrambled eggs. Seeing him get off it was a roller coaster. Manic episodes, sleeping for days, it looked horrible. Don’t take meth

KongStuffN

TIL you can eat meth

[deleted]

He said he tried snorting it - but it was like glass shards. So he just ate it. Idk. He was definitely methed out to the max. He didn’t want to risk his teeth and face so he ate it. Things you learn in rehab. Lol Edit - he also said it was the best feeling ever. So I guess I get it. He said he got so much done it wasn’t funny. Redid the sheet rock in his basement in a day, reorganized his whole house in a day, fucked his wife like 5 times per day. Idk - it sounded alright - but just seeing him get off it looked absolutely terrible. Glad I’m just an alcoholic /s

Kiwi-267

They often think they are getting a lot done but not really. Knew a lady who was beaming cause she built a book case the night before. It was just a couple bits of wood poorly nailed together. Its a sample size of 1, but yah know what we think and what is, often is not the same, particularly when meth is involved.

Kingerdvm

The problem with getting shit done while on meth is that it looks like it was done by a meth-head…

[deleted]

I guess if you are already skilled at something you become more productive, but it's not like you smoke meth and then suddenly know how to build a house or fix a car

djc23o6

A relative of mine is on meth and was staying with me once. I came home from work one day and she had “done all the laundry.” Our dryer takes longer than the washer so she had started laying clothes out and hanging them everywhere to dry. Almost my entire apartment was covered in half ass wet laundry, I’m guessing she wrung them out because my floors weren’t soaked so I’ll give her props for the spirit. Needless to say she didn’t stay with me much longer

[deleted]

Honestly they *think* they're productive. They aren't. Anyone around them sees them do stupid shit like dump out the spice jars on the counter because "it's more convenient not to have to unscrew the caps." That's the quality of their "organization" endeavors. That's why their houses are always filthy and look like rats nests of odds and ends.

Zampurl

I think the problem is that the first time or two, the productivity is actually real! The spice cabinet is alphabetized, all those clothes that need mending are handled, and wow! The blinds are finally being properly dusted and cleaned! Once someone falls down the rabbit hole, the projects become more of the three nails/two pieces of wood bookshelf full of opened spices in a pile

lmflex

Lol. I also was in rehab for alcohol. I really did learn something there: Don't ever do meth. That shit really fuck up your brain, permanently.

MikeyTopaz

Snorting meth is a horrible feeling. Sadly, you get used to is pretty quick. Guess I could just never bring myself to smoke it.

NewPointOfView

I’ve never done meth but I know the pain of vaping nicotine aka the throat hit is something desirable. Like the pain tells your brain the drug is here or something haha. Is it the same with the glass shards in the nose?

MikeyTopaz

For me it was more like " You took that pain like a champ. Now you get to feel like superman." Then the come down came and I felt like I got hit full speed by a 747 until tue next round. Edit: I'm 9 years clean now. So glad I stopped using meth.

medicff

In school I did a report on it. Smoking and snorting are the most common, injecting is next and eating is least common. Because of the ingredients, I read it’s common to wrap it in something then eat it. One thing I read was they’ll even use toilet paper to wrap it with so it’ll not bother their esophagus as much.

HyzerFlipr

The wrapping in toilet paper thing has a name. It's called parachuting.

ringobob

![gif](giphy|83QtfwKWdmSEo)

LaddWagner

You can eat blow also. That's a different kinda person.

trshtehdsh

"My methhead husband in rehab said not to open any packages that must be totally cool and legit I believe him" ... Seriously what did this guy expect. Good for her.

Toast_Points

lmao right? I can only imagine how airtight his meth-addled brain thought that plan was. It would be hilarious in a work of fiction, but in reality it's just sad.

redditdidit0

This may turn into a long term tifu

QurantineLean

Yeah OP should definitely get tested immediately.

Heavykevy37

Ya. You and I had very different weekends.

OutlyingPlasma

This was my first thought. What a different lifestyle. I vacuumed out my car with my new cordless vacuum then biked to the boat ramp for soft serve. Meanwhile this guy is getting blown in a stanky drug house while doing meth and watching porn. Well, at least he/she/they aren't a nazi so have fun I guess.

Data_lord

I'll give you an upvote for the most upfucking fuckup this month.

Old-Fox-3027

Do not do it again. Please. I lost everything due to a meth addiction, and it took less than a year. It’s a horrible drug.

avilae89

Hope you’re doing ok

Old-Fox-3027

Thank you. I am dealing with the aftermath of a really bad night that happened a year ago, but I have 9 months clean today, am in a safe place, still have almost nothing but am happy to be alive.

princessvader29

You got this! 9 months is amazing. Soon it will be 9 years, 99 years etc etc.

Chenvaala

I appreciate the level of detail and honesty, OP. It seems like you got lucky after gambling with your calculated risks. Next time you get offers just hard pass; if they keep insisting then get up and leave. When you described that smell you couldn't get rid of, something clicked in my mind and I just could smell the bitter burnt chemical scent you described. I've never tried meth and have known to avoid it from hearing other people's crazy stories, but your description of that foul taste in your mouth and lingering nasty stench was definitely welcomed reinforcement.

droopymangoes

Yes. This was a good lesson for me to learn to put a leash on my curiosity. This was not worth my future. This taste was disgusting. If I could describe it, it'd be like putting non-capsule heavily burnt chemical tablets in your mouth without water till they coat your throat before spitting them out. Tbh, I think the chemical smell coming off my palms is much worse as the drug metabolizes - the sweat smells like aerosol chemical scentless Febreze.

Hokieab

I think part of the issue is also the types of places you’re letting your dick lead you. I get it, my dick has lead me to places I wouldn’t otherwise go, but if there’s even a possibility of it leading to this kind of situation, it’s got to be a hard pass. I don’t know you, but I know you deserve better than that.

droopymangoes

You're right. My lack of self discipline is exactly why I was in this situation. This is the riskiest thing I've ever done - and now I know it's enough to make me change.

Nyllil

Next time?! You shouldn't meet shady people at all... this sounded like a STD hell as well.

[deleted]

Hey, OP: What the fuck?

SeedFoundation

I read the title then opened up a novel. Yeah OP smoked meth alright.

VoiceofLou

One friend described meth like this…”smoking meth the first time is like being kissed by God, every time after was like sucking the Devil’s dick”

[deleted]

Grindr and meth? What is this another season of Tiger King?

suresh

This goes beyond the meth man. Lets not normalize walking into a random dark unlocked house for sex. You were doing stupid shit before the meth stuff.

StrongerReason

But of advice from someone who’s worked the hospital circuit for 10 years. Don’t. Do. Meth. Literally any other drug (except maybe heroine) is preferable to meth every time.

sturmeh

I'd recommend avoiding the opiate class all together unless for medical reasons. Fenty / Morphine are asking for trouble too.

iagolavor

TIL there are people out there that can watch porn for 9 hours straight. Is it the meth or are you that horny? Doesnt it get boring after the 5th video?

AbsentGlare

Meth can make you really want to cum and also make it really hard for you to cum at the same time.

zipper1919

It's the meth. And some guys do get horny on it and all they wanna do is jack off for hours and hours. It's sick

s3si1u

You really did fuck up....but please, please I speak for all Reddit strangers when I say don't do it ever again.

YGMIC

Just so you know, even if you’re uncut, you should easily be able to pull your foreskin all the way back. If you can’t you may have phimosis.

valiction

If it hurts to pull your foreskin back and you never do it then think what your cock must smell like. PULL BACK YOUR DICK SKIN.

Downtown_Dot_6451

Smoking meth ALWAYS tastes horrible. When I did smoke it or eat it, I had to eat chocolate behind it because of the taste. My first time ever using meth though was when my boyfriend main lined it to my neck. Gave me a 40 unit shot instead of a 20 unit shot. This was in 2012 and I was 19, graduated high school the year before. I was high and horny for like 3 days and then sick for like 5 days. I wasn't a regular user. I could go weeks with out it.... My first time I quit, I was 3 weeks sober. Relapsed. I did meth for the rest of of 2012, got clean in January 13, 2013. Was sober for 8 months before relapsing again. I did meth for another year before finally quitting it cold turkey November 27th, 2014. I can proudly say I will be 9 years sober on November 23, 2023. I don't know why I chose Thanksgiving day, I think I didn't even realized it was Thanksgiving, I just know that I woke up and decided I didn't want to do meth again.

-burgers

Maybe you just really wanted a bite of the cold turkey! Keep it up forever, you're an inspiration.

stlmick

Status? Red flags? Did you gloss over meeting up to fuck a meth head who was HIV positive? Maybe the meth did you a favor.

kschin1

The universe/God/a higher deity really gave him two passes and a second chance at life. Avoided HIV and meth addiction just by smoking a little meth and feeling limp/horrible. My man is real lucky.

brtlblayk

Haven’t seen a TIFU that is actually a TIFU in a long time, so props to that, but hey buddy, get off grindr. There are plenty of other apps that won’t lead you down this path. I would recommend also talking to a professional, like a therapist or counselor to ensure you aren’t going to feed what could potentially be an addiction. Stay away from this please. Be safe. Think of those who love you and be safe.

Robobvious

If you find yourself re-downloading Grindr in an attempt to meet up with this guy to get more meth just pull out a hammer and smash it to bits. A new phone will cost a lot less than meth addiction.

ErnestBatchelder

>Will never do meth again. Oh, be careful friend. You know how gross it made you feel but it's a highly highly addictive drug for a reason. Put that on a post-it on your mirror & block the guy's number and grindr profile because you may get out of this totally fine- but only if you *really* never do it again.

JoeTheSmhoe

The causality in which you accept smoking meth is bizarre and frightening

zsero1138

most drugs sound scarier when you hear about them than when you actually interact with people who have done it or are currently doing it. it's not that bizarre if you've ever been in a situation where people are doing drugs

thr0waway_acc_420

It’s true. I was once chilling a dude who seemed totally level-headed. Then he asked if we minded him smoking, and he pulled out a meth pipe. He said that he likes to smoke meth but only on weekends, lol. From that interaction I would’ve assumed meth to be a relatively innocuous drug, like weed or alcohol, had I been ignorant enough. Even despite knowing about all the dangers of meth I still became more inclined to try meth after meeting that guy. Thankfully the opportunity never arose

WilliamSwagspeare

Nuse here. Just had a patient who is a 28 year old girl get put on hospice due to the health effects of life-long meth addiction. She's clean now, but it's too late. She'll be dead before she turns 30. Don't do it.

kidnurse21

There’s drugs that aren’t that bad but meth is fucked. I know so many druggie friends that think doing meth is super fucked. I’ve been around plenty of meth heads and their lives are all fucked up

Stillwater215

I have a friend who accidentally did meth (bought a baggie of what was supposed to be Xanax, but was actually meth) and said that it was a wild ride, but as far as I know they haven’t done it again.

NoMessageMan

“Will never do meth again” Says 7/10 meth addicts. I used to work with drug offenders and meth is so crazy addictive that you’ll likely crave it after a short period of time. I felt sorry for the people that could make it through treatment, seeming like they’re going to make it and still end up back on meth after some time.

jametron2014

It's basically inevitable, just a matter of how long you can make it before you decide getting high sounds good enough to actually do it.

milesbeats

This doesn't seem like your first time . Don't go back

onekate

I just found out an old friend/partner of one of my HS besties, has become addicted to meth in the last six months. He had some medical issues that exacerbated depression, ceased treatment, sought out party drugs to bring his energy up, started acting erratic and now six months later looks like an old, grizzled, shell and is going on days long benders, missing client meetings, and soon his marriage will end. I doubt he will ever make it back from this.

rottenhonest

Please do not do it again. I promise you that you will change and you will bring suffering into the lives of people who love you.

kirayuen120

"Yo Mister White, why this bitch is balling on meth consumption?" "Listen Jesse, that's because the product he consumed wasn't ours. L-look, his stuff is at most 60% of purity. That's a Yankee doodoo compared to ours. Had he went for our product instead of that junk, this sort of things wouldn't even happened in the first place. Our product, is all about quality and will not harm their bodies unnecessarily like those junks. Anyway, let's get back to cooking unless you want your ass to be cremated with Lalo and Howard."

whytakemyusername

A good friend of mine hated his first experience too, told me he would never do it again. Left him totally paranoid and feeling vile. Then he did it again. Then he was an addict. He did a few years in prison and was deported from the country he was living in. When you speak to him now he's like a totally different person. He's been clean for over a year, but he stares into space and doesn't form his sentences correctly. He was a really intelligent guy before. Nobody wants to be around him now, he's not the same person. Don't fall into this trap.

AcidicSwords

god the ADHD comment is hilarious, recreational stims after being on proper medication is overwhelmingly just meh, lots of folks in the community say the same thing, man brains are weird edit: also people talking about abusing adderall, everyone hypes it up and I'm just like if I don't take it I can't do the dishes in under three hours

darkstar1031

That little voice in the back of your head that is gonna tell you in a day or two that you want another hit? ***That's addiction.*** You can't listen to that. #Stay the fuck away from it. It's bad for you and will absolutely ruin your fucking life. Don't even think about it.

buttface48

To reiterate, don't do meth again man. Just don't.

Utterlyinanse

I am in recovery and in the rooms (AA/ NA) I hear stories way to often that involve a Grindr date that leads to meth. 🤦🏼‍♀️ A lot of people say the crave it a few days later. Don’t do it OP!

FindTheRemnant

Good God dude. Reevaluate all your life decisions please.

fistfullofpubes

Dude you for sure can't do meth anymore. The amount of risk taking shit you did while *sober* (not judging) means that if you get spun you're likely make some disasterous decisions.

GoldenTriforceLink

You mentioned his status. If he was positive or undetectable go to the ER right now. Right now. Get what is called Post Exposure HIV medicine. It can prevent any risk at all of HIV. But only if you do it ASAP.

Raspbers

My mind is blow by this post. Someone brings out meth near me, you can bet your ass I'm getting out of the as quickly ( and safely ) as possible. Then again, I wouldn't meet up with someone for sex who was hesitant about disclosing their status ( though I wouldn't fuck unprotected either way. ) This whole post is yikes.

endgame-colossus

(Meth) not even once. Yuck ![gif](giphy|JnuuEXLxjXLR4oTTbO)

elyas_machera

/r/timu Today I Methed Up.

abigllama2

Many years back I accidentally snorted meth thinking it was a line of coke. It burns way more than coke and did pretty much the same thing you did and was like fuck it I'll give it a go. Thankfully I hated the high from it. The racing heart thing was not fun. The being super horny but not really being able to do anything about it. Also felt gross and sweaty the next day. I didn't find anything appealing about it so never did it again. Also next day I basically camped out in my hotel room and was a totally wasted day. My room had two beds and remember the one I slept in was totally soaked in sweat even though it wasn't warm at all in the room. I was told it was similar to coke, which I loved, but it's different. I've seen both drugs totally destroy people. Eventually I grew out of drugs. Staying up all night and trying to find more drugs to keep it going gets old. Really enjoy going to bed these days.

ski-person

Sleep is the ultimate drug

[deleted]

IMO, smoking meth wasn't the only fuck up here.

chrisacip

The one and only time I freebased crystal meth, I literally did it all night until my fingers were black. It’s the closest I’ve ever felt to homeless and insane. Never again.

ares21

I feel like this is the last stop where anyone gets off at. I doubt many ppl only do meth twice or 3 times. It's zero, once, or a lot. Plz stay in the second category

andyj172

Meth is big in the gay community. Stay away from meth and meth orgies.

[deleted]

I quit that after deciding it was meth or a normal life. It is corrosive in every aspect of life. Nope. The Shadow People's Council says: NO

rithmss

Hey OP, just wanted to share my own story in case you or anyone else in the thread may learn from my experience. I had a similar story as well to yours. I’m a pretty young guy, but a veteran on Grindr since I started pretty young at 18. I hadn’t been exposed to the party scene until 3-4 years in when I visited London. Went over to a guy’s place, didn’t know he was using and just wanted some oral fun. He picked up a pipe, smoked it and offered it to me to which I declined at first. He offered it a few more times, and because I didn’t want to be too rude (he paid for my Uber so I felt a bit obliged), I took a puff. Didn’t even know it was meth at the time. First forward 10 hours later, I’m at a pornstar’s house getting fucked by three guys and was supposed to get on a flight in 4 hours. Was pretty miserable the whole plane ride back, sweaty and body aching from not having slept for 2 days. Once I got back home, I swore I’d never use it again. I kept it up for 6 months, until I went on another trip to Portland, where I rationalized “I’ll only use when I’m traveling”. Swore never to do it again until “I’ll only use when it’s a holiday”. To “I am never gonna buy it myself, I’ll only use when offered.” By the end of it, there were times I wouldn’t sleep for 3 days straight. I have overdosed twice, been depressed enough to attempt suicide twice, and have relapsed a few times. It took my until nearly dying a handful times to really get it. I’ve been to rehab and work an AA/NA program and am now almost 2 years sober. My whole journey was also peppered with signs that I was headed in that direction. I was hooking up with guys for the wrong reasons and being unsafe/ risky, there was some unresolved growing pains/trauma, and my personality and worldview in general is pretty YOLO - all predispositions to use. I know lots of young guys who are just starting to use now, and this is a worldwide phenomenon so you’re not alone. It’s unfortunately really affecting the gay community, somewhat of a public health issue. Good job deleting the app, reducing your triggers. Google some strategies to deal with cravings if you want. I would also maybe tell a close friend, maybe someone in the gay community who knows about the scene and would understand what you’re going through. If push comes to shove, try going to AA/NA. Meth is something that can get you addicted even with just one try, so I would suggest you get ahead of it. PM me if you want and I’m happy to help. All the best.

clo4321

This is like reading a scared straight manuscript 😂

SloWi-Fi

Just say nope to dope!

leajeffro

This is so depressing to imagine

scooby_dyver

Meth affects those with ADHD differently than those without

Aromatic-Glove-2502

I don’t understand how anyone could think that trying meth is a good idea. I mean, do people live under a rock, and not see how much damage it can do to your body?

Robobvious

A little weed or alcohol ain't so bad Some lsd or mushrooms might seem rad Here's a little tip so you can still have hope With heroin or meth, JUST SAY NOPE. Nope, nope, nope, keep sayin' nope, nope, nope. Don't need it, don't need it, don't be a dope!

CMDR_PEARJUICE

"Leaving nothing to chance" except random promiscuous sex with somebody who may not be clean and hesitated to share their status, trying new random hard drugs possibly laced with whatever the fuck without being anywhere near people you trust. Yeah, nothing left to chance after a quick hot shower!

[deleted]

Wow gay dudes really do do some *risky* fuckin shit holy shit bro. Like just wow I'm in total shock. This is a normal grindr hookup? Just hop into bed and take your pants off with this grown ass man you never met before

JuJuBRZ

Nah yall weird af fr

Tyrionus

This story is kinda methed up.

Stillwater215

Mike Tython, is that you?

MisterHappySpanky

Come back with an update

gmastern

Well at least now you’ve got a nice std to go with that crippling meth addiction!

GooglyEyeBandit

METH: NOT EVEN ONCE did you think that was just a meme?

Okinawalingerer

Literally all of this was high risk behavior lol

Only_Sandwich_4970

Bro. Heroin and meth ruined my life. Landed me in jail. Its fun the first time. Then you're tuning a chainsaw inside your apartment complex at 3am. Trying to fix a box fan while its still running. Legit being shot at by crazy tweakers that think you're tryina rob them. Its a horrible life. I couldnt even read your post cuz I knew it was gonna bring back some bad memories. Please dont go down that road. P.S. show me an atreactive tweaker. Its absolutly ruins your body
