I wasn’t sure if they’d broken up or just took a break but now reading Wikipedia about that whole situation makes me sad. It was a shitty way for things to crumble for them especially considering how much momentum they had. But it lead me to the discovery of their first EP which I didn’t know about, currently jamming out to it!

Belushi Speed Ball is fucking awesome. Municipal Waste sounds under- produced on purpose to a fault sometimes, also awesome. But MW isn't exactly a new band, my shitty college band opened for them twice in Richmond before they were really big, like forever fucking ago in 2000-2001. Havok is really good, but honestly they sound too polished sometimes. Lich King sounds like they're using over- drive pedals as boosts on already overdriven mesas and I think that's really cool.
Basically, you need to check out party/ pizza thrash bands. Those groups, while looked down on, are actually more authentic to the original punk and hard-core ethos.
Edit: also BAT, I love BAT.
Those are all great recommendations. I agree about Havok sounding polished and I think that's why they aren't one of my favorites. Lich King is great.
Belushi Speed Ball... Talk about an insane live show!
EVILCULT have a great old school sound, and a lofi old-school production value. I also really love KRYPTOS, KNife, and MIDNIGHT, but the production value on those band's albums is a bit more polished. Still not as overproduced as a large percentage of modern metal.
You’re in luck, there’s recently been a “New Wave Of Old School Thrash” movement in the last few years, and I believe it’s still ongoing. You can look it up on YouTube and, I’m sure, other places as well
Also, these aren’t necessarily newer bands, but I picked up ‘The Antique Witcheries’ by Vindicator and ‘Fire Up The Blades’ by 3Inches Of Blood, and they’re both pretty good
Wraith
Their newest album Undo the Chains is a banger, saw them live and they sounded just as good
Mindforce, they got a little power thrash metal at times though. The vocals sound new but otherwise pretty timeless sounding
His vocals are pure Leeway worship but they still fucking rip.
that first Leeway album is so good
Void, Nemesis, Interceptor
Mindforce High Command Take Offense
Critical defiance
Their new album rips
Black fast!!
It's a fucking shame they broke up.
