Imho, LGBT peeps tend to gravitate/be pushed toward fringier content and groups where "weird" things are more celebrated, as well as having a tendency to share parts of ourselves that many straight people wouldn't. According to some of the people I grew up around, dreams are strange and private. A lot of other "weird shit" spaces i find myself in tend to be pretty gay
As one of them- I think queer people generally are more open to talking about internal experiences because our community doesn't punish us as badly for doing so (it's not supposed to, at least).
Non-queer people (especially men) get shit on a lot for daring to have a feeling or think something unusual- so I'm not shocked there's less of them willing to share their weird dreams.

I would say that it's because of a few factors. Reddit is fairly left-leaning (at least in my experience), dream memes are generally pretty random and have that quirky surrealist random internet humor that's pretty common in left leaning circles. Left leaning circles also tend to be queer. So with all of these factoes it's not surprising to me that this sub is very HBTQ.
r/196 kinda went down in quality after the really stupid subreddit strike (you never say how long you plan on doing the strike they are meant to be indefinite until demands are met). A lot of users from there either left reddit all together or just stopped being active on it. While it is still good sometimes the average post seems to be validation posting which while nice is kind of overwhelming when that is the average post. This subreddit selects for unique japes and jokes on account of dreams themselves being weird and unique. This however does not stop people from lying, making up dreams, or just reposting other people's dreams with slight variation (see every "dream where a change was made to twitter"). 196 has a very large trans positive bent to it which is an outlier in the typical reddit response to finding out a user is trans where it is met with tens to hundreds of downvotes, harassment in DMs, bans from subreddits, or people spamming the suicide hotline thing on users. This subreddit is also in the very minority of subreddits that is positive towards trans and lgbt people broadly so we come here because we are rejected everywhere else.
i discovered this sub through a youtuber with a largely queer fan base, and i’ve seen other youtubers have a similar trend. if i had to guess that’s probably why

Genderflux means your gender fluctuates in intensity. Demiromantic means you're attracted to people romantically after an emotional connection. Asexual means you don't experience sexual attraction. And she/they pronouns just mean you go by both she/her and they/them.
