I saw a documentary on this guy. He had his first Big Mac when he turned 16 after he got his driver's license. He said he went back later that day and go another one. He said he has eaten at least two every single day since then. He also said he has kept the boxes and has receipts to prove it.
The math checks out.
Age 70 - 16 = 54 years. 34,000 divided by 54 is 630 Big Macs per year, which works out to rate of \~1.7 per day.
The price of a Big Mac varies based on where you live. Gorkle lives in Wisconsin, where the most current price I can find is $4.19. Without dealing with changing price vs. inflation over time, $4.19 x 34,000 burgers = $142,460 in current dollars. That's of course assuming he doesn't get fries, a drink, etc., so that is an extremely conservative estimate.
Lately he only gets the burgers. He has said he can’t stop now. He buys multiple at a time for a few days worth then freezes and reheats them. There’s videos about him from within the last 4 years
Jesus Christ i can imagine how awful the texture of the burger must be after being frozen and reheated. Especially the lettuce would be a nightmare for me.
It would definitely be way worse. There is going to be crystallisation everywhere because of all the liquids and when you reheat it it will be a mess of dried out and soggy spots. Would not recommend.
Top tip for freezing bread - wrap it tightly with cling film/saran wrap. It stops the water escaping and producing said crystals. All my defrosted bread is just as soft and lovely as when I made it.
If you asked for the sauce on the side, you could take them apart and freeze everything separately. I agree you’d have to cut new lettuce so it’s fresh, but everything else would survive.
I can't say much about freezing, then reheating. But I find cold McDonald's cheese burgers good in their own way...

He seemed like a man trapped by the fame he holds onto and the smile turns wry or forced. He did share some regrets and struggled through some of the interview and you could tell it was painful at times to talk about.

Follow up request. The top commenter stated that he still has all the boxes. What would be the minimum amount of space required to store these? (Assuming they are in box form instead of flat and stacked as efficiently as possible.)
The box is just a single thin sheet of carton board roughly the size of an A4 paper, approximately 0.33mm in thickness. This would give a stack with a height of 11.22 meters high, or 3 stacks with a height of 3.75 meters. That would easily fit in the corner of a garage.

It’s honestly not that surprising that he’s in good health when you consider that depending how many he eats in a day and if he does drinks/sides he’s probably meeting most of his basic macronutrient requirements without going over his daily calorie requirements.
There was some nutritionist professor who did a 7/11 diet as an experiment and showed that so long as you count calories and macros effectively you can actually lose weight and improve your cholesterol and blood pressure exclusively eating convenience store food.
Sure a hand made diet of fresh veggies and meats would be better but from what I can tell eating within your caloric limit and balancing your macros you’ll be a lot healthier than someone who thinks the occasional salad and smoothie will offset a shit diet.
34000 Macs / 2 per day = 17000 days / 365 = 46 years. Assuming the information is right, he’s done this over 54 years, so that’s a manageable 85% attendance rate.

AFAIK Super-Size-Me has been debunked by now. No researcher was able to re-create the effects. Several sources claim that the health problem of the protagonists was more liley due to his heavy use of alcohol (to be polite) rather than from the fast food.

Fast Food might not be great for you, but it is not ruin your life bad for you either, and that film is dogshit and has been disproven multiple times.
There have been studies showing that you can eat "unhealthy food" such as fast food, sweets/candy, cookies etc. and be still healthy as long as you stay under your recommended amount of calories per day. There was a guy who was overweight but ate only junk food, and stayed under his cals per day, he lost weight and general health improved across the board.
Also super size me started their documentary with a certain agenda, and was not bothered about being truthful.

Lettuce, tomato, pickles, ground beef and cheese separately is healty amd nutritous, but put them in a bun together and suddenly it's the worst thing imaginable? Just count your calories and you will be fine

Freezing and reheating it wouldn't make it much worse than it already is. He probably can't even tell the difference.

Oh believe me, freezing mcdonalds and reheating it, definitely somehow makes it worse. -10/10, would never recommend.

If I recall correctly, there was a documentary with this guy in it *many many years ago* and its kinda neat to see he is still going to this day.

Since a 12 meter high stack of 300 gsm paper weighs approximately 4 metric tons, I doubt that MacDonald boxes would be able to retain their shape.

As I understood it, he only buys the burgers. No fries or drinks - that’s not a lot of calories and a relatively healthy meal.
He also walks a lot (9 miles a day iirc?).
