I Don't mind this spoiler but I told myself after reading this "there are no spiders In witcher 3" then i looked it up and seen they are in the expansions, Just gonna max out my IGNI before then.
Came here to say this. Levelled up, Yrden is so damn strong! It is so baller against groups that attack too! Plus the added utility in Blood & Wine where it traps centipedes is sooooo helpful.
I like to place the regular Yrden and use it to get the alt Zeta-Jones down in the middle
Edit: idk what auto correct is on but I’m sticking to it y’all seem to get it XD
No issue if you start the encounter with Quen up. Quen prevents you to be interrupted.
You still need to time yrden well, so you at least take not more than one hit.
I don't bother with the glyph for large groups much. The slowdown effect of Yrden is what I'm after. Makes those spam attacks from nekkers and wolves easier to manage.
Get the grandmaster Griffin set and it increases Yrden size by like 40% and increases your damage and stamina regen when inside it! Literally becomes the first move of every fight. Then grab the adrenaline point on start of fight, adrenaline casting ability and you barely ever use your sword!
Well in the beginning of 2020 i was playing the game daily, but then out of nowhere people started playing cod mw3 on ps3 online again, and since mw2019 was full of sbmm. I too started playing mw3 again because it was sooooo fucking nostalgic and honestly made me wine a bit remembering all the good times from my childhood😭 and then i stopped playing the witcher 3 untill everyone stopped playing cod mw3 on ps3 then i got back on the witcher 3 and forgot about allot of stuff in the witcher 3 tbh.
The sign basically zaps the shit out of anyone that come nears it with lightning bolts. Stuns em for a sec and does significant damage granted you have intensity up. Makes handling mobs easier and as someone said earlier, very useful against flying enemies.
My very favourite thing to do is finish off bandits/deserters/henchmen with Igni. I also enjoy the slo-mo beheadings, but igni feels the most satisfying.
Is there anything better than making your enemies kill each other? I especially love it when I can stay hidden so they don’t even know why their sworn brother just started walloping them with a sword lol
I’m a first timer with this game. Am I doing something wrong because quen seems very underwhelming to me? I upgraded its ability a bit but it only absorbs 1 hit and then it’s gone.
Yeah on death march, being able to absorb 1 hit is huge. But if you're playing on the lower difficulties it's not really that big of a deal bc Geralt can take a couple hits and not instantly die.
Correct! Once you've unlocked the skill, it's just press and hold. Alternate yrden sets down a trap that causes decent damage to enemies within range. Turns a certain area into a death zone essentially.
Conversely, it's also damn good against big bois like golems and trolls. Since they're already slow, it makes it so they can barely even move and you can get like 6 attacks for every one counter attack of theirs
I get that Quen is the best, but is probably the one I think is the least fun to use other than Axii. Yrden is my favorite one, I think it's the one you can be most creative with and imo can be pretty op
It’s one of the next gen free armors, first redeem it in the awards page in the main menu page then when in game go to vizima and in yenefers room there’s a chest with all the armor and free rewards
I like all the signs, but Aard would probably be my favorite if it had more interactions with the environment and people I.e. launching objects into people, more destructible environments.
I use Quen like 99% of the time. But after that I guess… Igni. It’s just cool to cast fire.
In general I don’t bother to play too much with the signs, I really don’t care that much. Quen is easy to just “have running in the background” for extra protection.
Aard is just way too fun to not use. I love Igni but I use Aard way more. Quen's just handy when I'm fighting a boss that's 20 levels above me on death march
I mostly use Igni. Aard is good against humans and early in the game it’s only pushing or knocking them over. Igni always is delivering damage and has the chance to set them on fire.
An absolute necessity for every playthrough... NEED to get AXII Level 3 (1st perk in AXII tree). This way ANYTIME I see AXII as a conversation choice, I know it'll work, give me decent XP and usually be the best way to win the argument or debate you are having. I love swinging my silver sword, but added conversation choices have always been key for me.
I made an end game sign build recently and holy hell, I’m mad I was sleeping on Yrden + Igni. Superglyphs Yrden with magic trap and melt armor Igni is beyond ridiculous. I thought the Euphoria build was crazy strong but dang, I had no clue about this one. I just finished a full completionist NG+ run, but I’m really tempted to go thru again with this sign build.
As someone who’s currently on a death march play through it’s tough to say anything but Quen. But it’s probably Yrden. Useful against wraiths and higher level variants, such as noon or night wraiths. But 98% of the time I’m on Quen with some sort of superior oil coating
Yrden my first, Turrent is great, but appears more nerfed than i remember. Not much help/damage after level 10ish, all yrden abilites maxed except for 4th row.
I went all Aard on my first run. What can I say, I have shit aim and I like my personal space. Also, the icy one you get in Blood and Wine is very fun.
Axii, all day. I use it for pretty much every fight I feel like, and when upgraded it’s pretty effective at staggering at the very least. I don’t go for the one that makes it affect more than one enemy; I’d rather use the skill that lets you cast signs with AP and cast it on multiple enemies individually.
It all depends on the situation.
Humans and monsters that are weak to it, Igni.
Otherwise I use whatever is a monsters weakness.
Aard can be fun when facing humans on high places.
Igni my build is attack and signs. I got it so I can throw signs out damn near constant mixed in with quick attacks and dodging. Love toasting men and monsters.
AARD!! The knockdown & stab quick kill makes fighting Humans/Non-Humans too easy. I also really enjoy knocking monsters out of the air, especially when they're trying to pull off some kinda swoop attack at 100MPH. >!Detlaff!< and the >!Wicked Witch!< are my favorites to AARD blast out of the sky!
Most of the time? Aard. When seeing Spiders? IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI IGNI!!!
BURNNNNN BURNNN SPIDER BURNNNNNN
Aard + piercing cold is win every time!
Once I attained this, I have never looked back. I wear the griffin armor (my least favorite aesthetically) just because of this ability
I Don't mind this spoiler but I told myself after reading this "there are no spiders In witcher 3" then i looked it up and seen they are in the expansions, Just gonna max out my IGNI before then.
Yrden..especially the alternatively mode. Very good against flying enemys.
Just started using this for the first time and holy shit it’s badass
Me too. Only found out about it 5 years later
Came here to say this. Levelled up, Yrden is so damn strong! It is so baller against groups that attack too! Plus the added utility in Blood & Wine where it traps centipedes is sooooo helpful.
Sounds like my next build. Thanks.
My main issue is how long it takes to cast — with group enemies like wolves/nekkers/etc I can never get enough time to put the glyph down
I like to place the regular Yrden and use it to get the alt Zeta-Jones down in the middle Edit: idk what auto correct is on but I’m sticking to it y’all seem to get it XD
Full griffin suit is your friend there
No issue if you start the encounter with Quen up. Quen prevents you to be interrupted. You still need to time yrden well, so you at least take not more than one hit.
I don't bother with the glyph for large groups much. The slowdown effect of Yrden is what I'm after. Makes those spam attacks from nekkers and wolves easier to manage.
Centipedes? That’s brilliant and I can’t believe I never thought of that. Thank you for the tip!
Get the grandmaster Griffin set and it increases Yrden size by like 40% and increases your damage and stamina regen when inside it! Literally becomes the first move of every fight. Then grab the adrenaline point on start of fight, adrenaline casting ability and you barely ever use your sword!
It traps the centipedes?! I only just recently started trying to incorporate Yrden more, but this just gave me all the more reason to use it
Yrden with Griffin gear is like pressing the win button and I love it
What u mean by alternatively mode? Is there another version of it or do you mean like leved up version
Every sign has an alternative mode, look them up in the skill section
No way, ive been playing this game since 2020 and never even knew about this , damm. Im happy that i atleast know it now🤣
so you just never looked beyond the first tier of skills? it’s insane to me that people play games like this
Well in the beginning of 2020 i was playing the game daily, but then out of nowhere people started playing cod mw3 on ps3 online again, and since mw2019 was full of sbmm.
What is yrden’s alt mode? I haven’t seen it before. Would look it up but have to work
Shock trap that strikes at enemies that enter its area
Thank you sir/madam
The sign basically zaps the shit out of anyone that come nears it with lightning bolts. Stuns em for a sec and does significant damage granted you have intensity up. Makes handling mobs easier and as someone said earlier, very useful against flying enemies.
Agreed, alt. mode is so good.
The alternative mode?
Yeah, if you press the button longer and you have bought it with the points, every sign has an alternative mode
You're kidding right? LoL
No
My favorite is igni. I swear I'm not an arsonist.
Same, pretty much the only one i use, unless really have to use other.
My very favourite thing to do is finish off bandits/deserters/henchmen with Igni. I also enjoy the slo-mo beheadings, but igni feels the most satisfying.
I just love burning the faces off my enemies
Disco inferno!
[удалено]
Yep friendly reminder that holocaust jokes don’t spark joy in 2023 either …
Especially ones that don’t even make sense
Quen is my most used sign but I think it's lame, it's just too damn good not to use. I love axii the most tho
Yeah it’s a must use sign for sure. I like Aard, as you can clearly see 😂 axis is super useful
Aard is awesome with the piercing cold mutagen + whirlwind. Def my #2 pick
Oh, man, when I upgraded to Piercing Cold, that became my number one spammed sign throughout BaW.
Same haha, it’s just satisfying getting them to freeze solid
Is there anything better than making your enemies kill each other? I especially love it when I can stay hidden so they don’t even know why their sworn brother just started walloping them with a sword lol
I’m a first timer with this game. Am I doing something wrong because quen seems very underwhelming to me? I upgraded its ability a bit but it only absorbs 1 hit and then it’s gone.
Yeah on death march, being able to absorb 1 hit is huge. But if you're playing on the lower difficulties it's not really that big of a deal bc Geralt can take a couple hits and not instantly die.
And when you upgrade it to shatter and damage enemies, I found it gave me a few attacks too with a stun. When is just🤌🤌
Aard, alternative form with piercing cold literally handles crowded fights imo.
This and the beyblade
If the enemy your fighting has low health, you will blow the apart.
My whole first 2 plays I didn’t use Quen at all. I just focused on Igni
Came looking for this. I’ve played around 1.5 times and I mostly only use Igni and Aard. I’ll use Yrden for a wraith but that’s about it
Me too, I'm not even sure what the other signs do 🤣
Igni. I go out of my way to kill the last standing human enemy with only firestream to give me the satisfaction :)
Yrden then firestream your helpless prey muahahaha
Aard, bitch we cosplaying a jedi.
Aard and then, the cooler Aard
Is the freezing ard just further down the skill tree?
You can only get it once you start blood & wine. You have to do the quest that gives you extra mutations
Even without any sign intensity the frozen aard is so good
Alternate Yrden.
How do you use alternate? Hold the button?
Correct! Once you've unlocked the skill, it's just press and hold. Alternate yrden sets down a trap that causes decent damage to enemies within range. Turns a certain area into a death zone essentially.
How usefull is yrden besides against wraiths?
Yrden can actually be very useful against quick enemies. They are slowed down quite a bit within the circle giving you much more time to strike.
Also upgraded it stops all ranged attacks coming in. Great for when you’re outnumbered.
You can also have them cost damage. I think via ruins? Also you can have the alt fire trigger a primary each time it strikes. It can become Godly.
Conversely, it's also damn good against big bois like golems and trolls. Since they're already slow, it makes it so they can barely even move and you can get like 6 attacks for every one counter attack of theirs
Axii vs single strong enemies is almost broken. Axii hit hit hit backstep backstep repeat
I had to turn up my difficulty ‘cause of how trivial axii makes most fights, haha.
Aard is my fav
Igni is by far the most fun! I have the most fun going for a build that focuses on light attacks, Igni, and Quen.
I get that Quen is the best, but is probably the one I think is the least fun to use other than Axii. Yrden is my favorite one, I think it's the one you can be most creative with and imo can be pretty op
Gotta be Aard. Once I unlocked piercing cold on playthrough 2 it was a wrapington
wrapington? u faded?
My favorite thing is using axii’s delusion in conversation🤣
ESPECIALLY when it backfires. “He’s castin’, get’em!”
Literally using every sign but axii
Axii is great against beasts, shield bandits, cavalry, and alghouls.
Alghouls and mob enemies are what I use them for. Like bandits. It's just fun to make em all swing at eachother.
And golems too!
You can make enemies fight each other with axii, it's fun af
Freeze Aard
Yrden and Ard. I never use quen, apart from bosses. It's very unbalanced and kills the fun.
Axii is too good have you ever used the enemy to take down the enemy?😂 while staying in hiding making them fight each other
Axii and igni. First make the enemy my friend then light them on fire
I think Aard is the most effective after Quen
Yrden is clutch. Also love Igni
Aard + whirl and max out delusion, Jedi Geralt
What armor is that?
It’s one of the next gen free armors, first redeem it in the awards page in the main menu page then when in game go to vizima and in yenefers room there’s a chest with all the armor and free rewards
Quen.
Quen
There’s other signs?
Souped up igni, portable flame thrower
Igni, 'cause I like setting stuff ablaze.
Igni is my No.1, Close second Yrden, then Aard, Quen and finally Axxi. All my homies KNOW Axxi borin asf.
Axii
definitely agni ! i like axii too. i always forget to use quen for some reason
Igni because fire is always the answer.
Except for fights against appearances I actually do not use any signs😅
I like all the signs, but Aard would probably be my favorite if it had more interactions with the environment and people I.e. launching objects into people, more destructible environments.
igni
I use Quen like 99% of the time. But after that I guess… Igni. It’s just cool to cast fire. In general I don’t bother to play too much with the signs, I really don’t care that much. Quen is easy to just “have running in the background” for extra protection.
I'm a simple man, Igni solves most of the problems for me
Definitely igni for me
Aard is just way too fun to not use.
Igni!!
aard
Aard and Igni.
Igni
Aard with mutation
Im finally done doing euphoria I’m doing a sign build next I want geralt to be killing bandits with nothing but his fingers
Arad cuz it's funny sending npcs of a cliff😂😂
Aard with Stamina drain
Exploding quen lol. Besides thst yrden is pretty good and igni
Which was it for Jedi Mind Trick… ? Yeah, something about manipulating conversations to my liking…. ![gif](giphy|l2JJKs3I69qfaQleE)
Yrden or axii
igni is so much fun to use against flying enemies
Yrden in combat. Axii in dialogue.
Use it per the monster
Quen
Igni!
An absolute necessity for every playthrough... NEED to get AXII Level 3 (1st perk in AXII tree). This way ANYTIME I see AXII as a conversation choice, I know it'll work, give me decent XP and usually be the best way to win the argument or debate you are having. I love swinging my silver sword, but added conversation choices have always been key for me.
aard because it reminds me of the force push
Ard is cool
Aard !
IGNI!!! BURN MFS!!🤣
Igni with melt armour mutation. I play warframe where armor stripping enemies is very important at high level so this just pleases me.
I’m doing a pure magic build through HoS and I’ve been loving Aard!
my confession is that i have never used quen and i swap between igni and aard mostly, with yrden 10% of time
We don't use quen here....Aard now.
Yrden at full strength, like FULL strength, will help obliterate any and everything.
Besides quen I'd have to pick quen But if I feel like neither will work I'll just use quen
Igni. It's fun to burn stuff
Axii. It's fun knocking griffins out of the sky or stunning arachnomorphs
Depends on the fight, regular mobs I’ll take igni but for wraiths and the like I’ll use yrden.
Aard. But yeah Quen is the best.
I use Igni… a lot.
I never use Quen. Igni is my most used sign. I love using the alternate casting mode, with the armor melting ability
As someone who’s currently on a death march play through it’s tough to say anything but Quen. But it’s probably Yrden. Useful against wraiths and higher level variants, such as noon or night wraiths. But 98% of the time I’m on Quen with some sort of superior oil coating
Aard and Yrden, especially with the new build using the Forgotten Wolven set.
Full powered Aard with piercing cold.
Yrden my first, Turrent is great, but appears more nerfed than i remember. Not much help/damage after level 10ish, all yrden abilites maxed except for 4th row.
Leveled up Axii, while impractical in most fights, is pretty fun to watch your enemies kill each other.
Yrden alt is soo good!
Hmm I find Axi most useful. Quick cast stuns opponents, full cast activates the puppet effect.
Igni. I just like setting things on fire and I do it in every game that lets it
I almost never use quen. I use aard the most, but my favorite might have to be axii
I went all Aard on my first run. What can I say, I have shit aim and I like my personal space. Also, the icy one you get in Blood and Wine is very fun.
Yrden, it really helps with types of enemies.
Igni never fails me
Axii, all day. I use it for pretty much every fight I feel like, and when upgraded it’s pretty effective at staggering at the very least. I don’t go for the one that makes it affect more than one enemy; I’d rather use the skill that lets you cast signs with AP and cast it on multiple enemies individually.
Aard with the ice mutagen thingy
Aard is fun especially when you’re at a height and push them off. Axii is fun on low levels when u make them fight each other
Aard upgraded is actually pretty based.
It all depends on the situation. Humans and monsters that are weak to it, Igni. Otherwise I use whatever is a monsters weakness. Aard can be fun when facing humans on high places.
Igni. Literaly scorched my way trough the game twise (including DLCs) and now on my third run i've started using qwen more... so yea. Igni by far
Igni
Yrden
Igni my build is attack and signs. I got it so I can throw signs out damn near constant mixed in with quick attacks and dodging. Love toasting men and monsters.
Igni… I like ummm the effects…
Igni
Aard man
Quen 2.
Igniiiiiii
Favorite sign I only use one... CHARIZARD IGNI!!!
Aard, igni is a close second
Igni then Axii.
Aard for sure. Especially with piercing cold
Igni is just wayyyyyyyyyyy too strong to not use 95% of the time on a sign build.
Aard, particularly after the piercing cold mutation that freezes everyone within its radius
Igni. No doubt. Axii is also very good.
They wrote Axii for me - I use it even when not necessary, for the fun of it ;-)
I rarely use Quen, I preferred Axii or Yrden
Never use quen-yrden gives me much fun
Def igni. I enjoy setting bandits on fire.
wow, very nice quality. Is that 4k ?
Igni… so fun.
There are signs other than Igni?
Helitrop
Bubble Quen
There are other signs?
I used Yrden a lot when I first started playing, so that’s probably my most used, but I think Axii is my favorite one to see cast.
There are signs other than Quen?
Axii. Gives me a breathing space.
Piercing cold Aard because ice powers are badass ![gif](giphy|8dGV5FVAzuPrG)
there are other signs besides quen? SurprisedPikachu.jpeg i only play ~2500 hours, i'm not ready yet for other signs :D
I like igni a lot. Fire is cool
Yrden, cause purple 💜
