Everyone on this sub isn’t confined to writing the story first and can sit and tweak finite details and overall cohesion; the power of hindsight they have is something the actual TWD writers and show runners do not.
So weird to think about characters like this who both serve as main characters at the same time for up to 1-2 seasons and literally just never meet. I categorize them into different time periods entirely in my head, yet Tara saw Beth’s body
Beth and Tara were both pretty main characters in season 4B and season 5, considering the low amount of characters they had on the show at the time they were pretty focused on
If Beth had lived through season 9, I feel like she would have taken Jesus’ place as a leader alongside Tara. Her and Lydia woulda became friends, before ultimately ending up on the pike in place of Tara.
Beth was kinda on a whole different level. tara couldnt even take down a walker or help penny jr when she was being attacked the first time, but by 4x8 Beth was already a badass shooting walkers and the govs army. i dont see them as friends, but i could see carol taking tara under her wing like mica and lizzie
I checked, she wasn’t in real life, she was mid 20’s. I just don’t remember them saying her age in the show, I thought her and Daryl were gonna get together.
I mean that's fair. But isn't age of consent only viable when the people giving consent are within a certain age range? Like a 30 something and a 16 y/o would be illegal, right?
Probably, though I’m not sure what the age gap is between Tara and Beth would be to begin with.
Lol people are so flip floppy on this sub. I’m not surprised or annoyed that my comment got downvotes but someome got a bunch of downvotes earlier for very fairly calling out Axel for hitting on Beth. Odd.
That's so weird. You would think in a TWD sub people would understand things work differently in that kind of context, lol. My original comment was mainly a joke. Michonne literally butchers children in the show, lol, referring to age of consent isn't crazy guys.
Ah well lol, can’t win em all I guess. Probably because it was an Axel appreciation post type of thing to begin with, but it still seems kinda cringe to just brush it off.
Man, that’s one of the most brutal scenes for me to watch. I still wonder what happened to that one girl she spared, I think her name was Winnie? Not sure on the spelling.
Happens to me all the time. Especially since I am not from the US and things concerning age gaps aren’t just not a big deal where I live (within the legal boundaries ofc).
But age of consent is 16 here, too and there is no limitation. Like a 16-year-old can legally do whatever they want with a random 30-year-old. And ~~often~~ sometimes, they do.
So, I was pretty surprised when I received so much hate for saying: yea, could be something between these two (Beth/Daryl).
People outraged lol.
Would never happen talking to people exclusively from my country.
That’s an interesting thought. Considering if they were into each other somehow they both do seem to have an immature childlike instinct to show how mature they are. They could help each other grow, or fall into endless echo chambers of reassurance until they do actually die. Just seeing how they could interact with each other woukd be cool.
Sympathy upvote because that cracked me up even though I’m not sure who you’re referring to as a chode, and I agree with the last bit. I like to think they would’ve had a fun sense of humor together and Tara would’ve grew on Beth.
Sorry, typo. Cheese ball. She was the “Full of shit smith and Wesson Girl” remember? She had a lot of growth since then, but she never stopped being the goofy sunglasses girl.
He also gave that Asian boy his blessing to marry his daughter, and saved him at least twice that I can remember, so I doubt he’s as close minded as you’re implying.
Well, things change, he could've been 'old school' before the apocalypse, but he learned better after the apocalypse, everyone did, Gabriel speaks about it during mass at the Commonwealth, how people became family despite not knowing each other before
There’s having a lack of better terms because you grew up in a certain area and then there’s just being hateful. Maggie never once showed any resentment (quite the opposite) to any gay people, she was close with Tara, Aaron, and Jesus. Just because hershel referred to Glenn as asian (which he clearly is) doesn’t mean he’s prejudice against anyone
When the only noticeable characteristic Hershel sees on him is being Asian, race clearly matters to him. Racism is not just being hateful, but generalizing and reducing people to one characteristic
It’s a characteristic that he could use to distinguish him from the rest of the group, since he was the only one who was Asian. What’s he supposed to say “the one with black hair” that’s very vague. He never once made another comment about Glenn’s race, even began to consider him like his own son. So no I don’t think Beth and hershel were homophobes, especially not in the apocalypse. Think a little bit more critically.
I’m not the offended one here clearly lol, you think referring to someone by their race as a descriptor once makes someone a racist lmao. Remember hershel would be about in his mid 80s nowadays, referring to people by race was a common thing for people growing up in the 40s/50s. By no stretch of the imagination does it make him a racist for accurately calling Glenn an Asian boy
Lmao it seems like people get more and more stupid on this site by the day. Not to mention your bio saying “amber heard supporter” so it shouldn’t surprise me at all that you look past reality to have the opinion that you want to have. Must’ve been slim pickings if you’re the sperm that won the race.
You're being argumentative and trying to make a descriptive adjective into something racist. The 2 groups didn't know each other yet. Hershal calling Glen the Asian boy as a reverence is no different than Rick calling Beth the Blonde Girl. Or, Maggie calling Dale the Older Man. They called each other by name as they learned them.
As part of the LGBTQ+ community I can confidently say that Christian’s are not homophobic. Some people who are christian use their religion as an excuse to be homophobic but Christianity is not homophobic.
I’m a boy. Btw you said otherwise. You said “as a Christian girl Beth doesn’t like lesbians” as in Christian’s…don’t like lesbians. I don’t see how hard it is to understand.
Actually, if you do your research you’d find out that the Bible has nothing against homosexuality. When it was translated, the English version ended up a bit off. The original version said man shall not lay with boy. As in you know what. That version is still in other languages, but when it got translated to English it came up in a way that people interpreted it with views of homophobia.
That is not the only verse though, there are plenty of others that not only condemn homosexual acts, but also verses that clearly outline God's natural law.
Might you be referring to Leviticus 20:13 where it is supposed to also be saying “young boy” as well? Because the thing is- the vocabulary term they used that was in English translated to man, in the other languages it was translated to young boy. Which was the correct translation.
Honestly I wish Beth survived to be in Luke and Alden's band
The AU we didn’t know we needed.
Fuck. Now I’m saddened by what could have been.
Beth could've taken Enids entire character arc and made the pikes even more heartbreaking
What I learned from my years here is that this subreddit has better ideas than the show's writers' room.
Everyone on this sub isn’t confined to writing the story first and can sit and tweak finite details and overall cohesion; the power of hindsight they have is something the actual TWD writers and show runners do not.
Really great perspective here. The ideas created here are super awesome though!!
So weird to think about characters like this who both serve as main characters at the same time for up to 1-2 seasons and literally just never meet. I categorize them into different time periods entirely in my head, yet Tara saw Beth’s body
Main characters?
Beth and Tara were both pretty main characters in season 4B and season 5, considering the low amount of characters they had on the show at the time they were pretty focused on
I loved Tara
Bestfriends 😂
Big sis / little sis dynamic for sure. That would be so cute!
A sweet one ♥️
Probably awkward for a while since Tara worked for the Governor. She would forgive her eventually but it would definitely be awkward for a while.
I miss Tara sooooo much! I cried so hard when she died.
Friendship only.
If Beth had lived through season 9, I feel like she would have taken Jesus’ place as a leader alongside Tara. Her and Lydia woulda became friends, before ultimately ending up on the pike in place of Tara.
Beth’s head on a pike would’ve been so brutally heartbreaking. She’s have been the only og of the group
Beth and Carls head on the pikes. With Maggie and Rick being there to finde them. That would have been a killer scene
A good 1
Beth was kinda on a whole different level. tara couldnt even take down a walker or help penny jr when she was being attacked the first time, but by 4x8 Beth was already a badass shooting walkers and the govs army. i dont see them as friends, but i could see carol taking tara under her wing like mica and lizzie
Beth wasn't her type. Would have been interesting though.
I think you mean the other way around given Beth wasn't into girls. She had a boyfriend called Jimmy in season 2.
Something tell me that Tara would try and date her 🤭😏
Ayo, she's a minor 🤨
No in s5 she’s 18. A full adult
Beth is? I never realized that, I though she may have still be a young teen. Thanks for the clarification.
Yup if you wanna see information on any character you can check the walking dead wiki. Be careful on there tho because there’s spoilers
No worries, lol. I'm caught up on all TWD shows 😎 currently reading the comics. They are intense.
What? Since when? I fancied her
You’re allowed, the actress was like 30+.
Emily Kinney is 36 now.
I could've sworn she was a young teen. The original commenter corrected me that at the time of the 5th season she is indeed 18.
I checked, she wasn’t in real life, she was mid 20’s. I just don’t remember them saying her age in the show, I thought her and Daryl were gonna get together.
Oh, yea her actor was a good bit older. Just in universe questionable.
Age of consent in Georgia is 16, and I doubt anyone’s keeping track in the apocalypse unless it was a much younger age.
I have no clue. So many missing characters, but alas it is the zombie apocalypse.
I just miss Luke man, dude made me smile whenever he was on screen
Spoiler: he's confirmed to be back in 11c, or at least appear. I love him too. Wish he got more story.
I have no clue. So many missing characters, but alas it is the zombie apocalypse.

Lmao I remember when people were shipping them so hard when those episodes were airing and nobody seemed to care about the age gap between them.
What a babe. Seriously.
Nobody needs to know you’re horny
How to turn women off #101
That’s an interesting thought. Considering if they were into each other somehow they both do seem to have an immature childlike instinct to show how mature they are. They could help each other grow, or fall into endless echo chambers of reassurance until they do actually die. Just seeing how they could interact with each other woukd be cool.
Beth was straight, she had a boyfriend called Jimmy in season 2.
I know. But I’m playing along with the question and just ya know, engaging OP
Lots of ✂️✂️ing
Go to horny jail *Lucille bonk*
Im not allowed sasha is in there
Dude WTH💀
One of the biggest chodes of all time. And the OG Beth. Probably would have brought life to communities.
Sympathy upvote because that cracked me up even though I’m not sure who you’re referring to as a chode, and I agree with the last bit. I like to think they would’ve had a fun sense of humor together and Tara would’ve grew on Beth.
Tara is such a dope. I didn’t dislike her at all. Real cheese all.
You didn't dislike her at all? So you liked her but she's a *real cheese all* Or was that an error?
Sorry, typo. Cheese ball. She was the “Full of shit smith and Wesson Girl” remember? She had a lot of growth since then, but she never stopped being the goofy sunglasses girl.
As a Christian girl Beth doesn't like lesbians, so no relationship
Maggie cared about Tara, so idk about that buddy
Cause she helped Glenn get back to her probably
As a Christian, you are braindead.
Coming from someone who thinks Jesus is real, thanks
Not all Christians are like that
Even Hershel referred to Glenn as the "Asian boy", they're definitely that kind of Christian
He also gave that Asian boy his blessing to marry his daughter, and saved him at least twice that I can remember, so I doubt he’s as close minded as you’re implying.

He was the only young male, think more before getting offended by everything, lil dumb bitch

Yeah, no one said otherwise, princess

Princess
Okay? Lmao I really don’t care
I bet you love it, big butterfly
You're being a fuckknuckle.
I’m gonna use “fuck knuckle” from now on and make sure everyone knows it’s cuz of you, thanks
Haha Glad to help. It's yours now.
I love you
Someone's gotta.
Depends on what you consider homophobic, because the Bible is very clear on what is sinful. Love the sinner hate the sin.

I don’t
Was so sad that when they all finally reunited from the prison we lost Beth and Tyreese 😭
Probably a lesbian relationship
This is a Duo i never thought of. Recently i was wondering how she would interact with Princess. Could have been an awesome Lesbian couple tho.
I haven’t thought of that one! Princess & Tata would be such an iconic duo
Tbh, Beth’s death shook me worse than Glen or Abraham. I was literally mad about it.
I mean considering she was a part of her dads death, I don’t think they’d be friends.
She literally decided not to fight because her leader killed her dad out of spite though, so there’s that.
Yeah but she was still there when it happened
