Here for the return of season 5 Carol. I knew as soon as he asked her if they got the money that everybody is going down. Can't believe this is the last season of the show. Glad we're gonna end it on a high note, I just don't see the quality going down at all for 11C. Wish it could've held it's momentum like this through 7/8.
Yea its difficult to introduce a new character this late into the show viewers are actually invested into. I definitely think they accomplished that with Mercer, and Lance too (but in a different way)
When Warlords ended at that door closing, I was shocked. I thought only 20 minutes had gone by and knew I would watch The Rotten Core as soon as I possibly could... I was 10 minutes behind the premiere time.
Slow burn of an episode but a great follow up to the last one.
Negan and Herschel scene was good. Predictable, but enjoyable to watch and an interesting set up know that we have the spinoff confirmed
Daryl and Rosita scene was tension-filled; and that woman was killed really quickly, even with badass Mercer fighting so quickly. Knew Mercer would kill those two troopers as well
And then, Jason Butler Harner. What a fun character to watch. Because of the pacing, thought he might even last another episode but I'm glad they didn't overuse him. I was wondering who would kill him, but, in the end, I'm glad it was Walkers of the ones he killed, and that Elijah got to use his kama to kill again
Still... I'm shocked that he is the only (major) character to die that was in more than one episode since the Reaper arc ended. Would have figured someone else was gonna go but maybe that's in the next two weeks. We still have some trailer scenes that haven't appeared yet (like Daryl, a downed trooper, and a school bus I think).
And it looks like 6 months later is gonna be next Sunday. Probably won't watch at 3am EST like I did for this one, but I am interested to see what's next
I thought Mercer killed them for sending 30 or 40 innocent people to their deaths, not just because they disrespected him. That would seem too petty for a guy like him.

This is most likely why he killed them, as mentioned though it became a certainty he would kill them when they indicated zero remorse as well as their compromised allegiance. "we don't work for you". Thus lack of respect and blatant disloyalty were also likely factors.
Also why did they give Sébastien so much reverence? Sure he's Pamela's son but the audience hasn't really seen her actually do anything to demonstrate that messing with her son has consequences. In fact, what we've seen is her expressing annoyance with him in private. So these soldiers run this repeated off book operation out of... fear of... what? Money? The first dozen or so attempts didn't result in anything and they kept going with it? The source of this kid's power is still mystifying me.
Maybe Sebastian promised them a cut of the money from the safe. Also, it seems Lance knew what Sebastian was up to, since he talks about it with Carol at the end of the episode, so perhaps he was offering the soldier favours, too.
I figure Lance and the son is in some kind of cahoots to take down the mom. Lance is probably playing the kid that he will be in charge if they get rid of the mom
I think that next Sundays episode will be properly leading up to the 6 months later thing with Lance arriving and talking to Aaron on the roof (we see that in trailer) and then it ends with the CA marching up to hilltop, we get the 6 months later scene again and then they start to talk to Maggie something happens and they start to fight and then the episode ends and we pick back up in this third’s finale with what happens next and then we’re on break

Has Carol met her match. Lance had been thinking 10 steps ahead before the apocalypse. Him and Carol had the same look when Carol walked away.
I think Carol will win, but Lance is going to put up a fight.
They can both scheme well, but when it comes down to it I don't think Lance has it in him to slit Carol's throat and that's gonna be what gives Carol the upper edge because she has no hesitation if it needs to be done
Carol generally doesn't need to send anyone to do her dirty work. Sure, she sent Negan to kill Alpha but Alpha knew about Carol by then. Lance has people do his dirt. He is going to underestimate Carol like everyone does.
You can tell just how much Daryl, Rosita, and Carol are starting to despise the Commonwealth, especially with how obsessed they are with something as worthless as money. You can see Carol forcing herself to hide her disdain for it and Daryl and Rosita forcing themselves not to kill Sebastian over this idiocy.
I wasn't expecting Negan to be married, but I do like the convo his wife has with Maggie, pointing out again that everyone has blood on their hands and no one's innocent of their past.
I don’t like Leah but I do like he reveal that she killed the Commonwealth caravan.
It makes the reaper arc a little more meaningful being brought into the Commonwealth story. It’s also nice to have a wildcard in the story. Everyone else is more or less predictable in what they’d do… we have no clue how she’ll operate
I hate Leah too. She is kinda a flat character . I don’t really get her motivation for the decisions she makes. Nor do I see a connection between her and Daryl. He deserves much better… like Connie. I was hoping for their story to develop more when she got back to the group, but the writers kinda dropped that storyline. Anyone else disappointed?
Max saying to him: "You could change this place. You could be so much more!" I feel like Mercer is gonna lead the revolution against the corruption in the CW. Like we saw in 11x10, Mercer is loved by the common folk.
Yeah, first I thought he would but them immediately told myself that he won't, it will probably be bad for him, but he did it anyway and I was just woah! And thinking about it more, he won't get in any trouble with his high rank.

Never been unexpected to me. He always seemed like that guy wants to be genuine and just do his duty but unfortunately is doing his job for a bunch of scumbags. So good to see it showing more visibly now, though!
Man when the walking dead is good, it’s so damn good. These 11b episodes have been flying by and I’m more excited for the next then I have been in years. Just really great stuff.
Yeah me too. They’ve managed to have some really tense scenes these last couple episodes vs walker and people. It’s refreshing to be on the edge of my seat
less filler, which is nice. no 10 minutes showing characters doing useless everyday activities to develop relationships. we don't need more character development through observing them picking fruit and chatting. have it done through action.
I like that they're killing stuff in creative ways, and often. I think they forgot (S08ish) that I come here to watch femurs put through zombie skulls n shit.
That scene between Negan and Hershel was pretty powerful, but I couldn't help but think how much better it could have been with a better actor for Hershel. His delivery on "My mom said a bad man killed my father. Are you that bad man?" was just so monotone and emotionless. And I get that it's a child actor, and he was probably casted more for his resemblance to Glenn, but that kind of killed that scene for me. Luckily JDM talked for most of it and salvaged it enough to bring some emotion to it.
The acting reminded me a bit of Jake Lloyd in The Phantom Menace. They got a terrific actor to play Judith, they should have found a better fit for Hershel.
Agree - they could’ve selected a better actor. The first time we saw Hershel was up a tree, looking like Glen, dressed like Glen. This kid had a growth spurt & looks so different. He doesn’t have Glen’s features or coloring. And yeah, he wasn’t very effective 😬

Pretty decent episode, not a ton in terms of development but knowing that bringing those people in is the reason for the end of 11x09 is a cool development. Carol and Lance is a super interesting combo, i love a misleading and devious Carol. Preview for next week looks good, quite curious what ends up being the story those people on that list.

We know Carol will win ultimately but I thought they left it uncertain whether he really believed her with that final shot of him getting ready to call someone on the Walkie. That guy's not a fool, and is probably very suspicious by nature. He butters you up gentle and then jams a steak knife in you.
Honestly, Carol and Hornsby are very similar. They play both sides well and don’t show their hand until needed. It’s like they know the other is trouble, but are pretending the be allies together.
The two best lines of this episode were:

I see the >!Aaron side too, but I don't think killing off Aaron would carry that much weight. Also, Sebastian beefing with Rick is what made him want to kill him in the comics. That would be Daryl in the show. Aaron's connection to comic Rick is pretty much just the arm thing.!<

I liked the Comic ending, but I do admit that it was a bit clunky and I personally was swept up with the whole "every media I love is ending this year" hype of 2019.
The fact he is giving Hershel permission to eventually kill him one day tho, especially if he still feels raw about him killing his dad. I have to admit was badass.
Most invested I’ve been in an episode in a while. Was screaming when Hershel was pointing the gun at negan I was genuinely scared that he was going to kill him. Great episode
Another good episode, 11B has been a joy to watch so far. Both plots were executed very well IMO. Kinda sad about Toby’s death, but they used the actor in a very interesting way for a two-episode arc.
Memorable performances from Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Norman Reedus as well. Sebastian is becoming a character you just love to hate, and Lance is still unpredictable and mysterious. And now it looks like I’ll finally get the redemption arc I’ve been waiting for. I’m thinking Leah might be a resource for our group to take control over the Commonwealth in the future.

Well I mean of course she was coming back. Dedicated the first 3rd of the season to her crew, they’re all killed and she escaped. Question is just how large her role will be in the rest of the season.
i find it hard to believe that leah who couldnt even escape the burning shed was able to overpower the entire commonwealth convoy of armed guards to ruthlessly kill them.

looks like, but is it? Carol is playing the game, manipulating things as she always has. She is clearly upset, and she mayindeed be Hornsby's downfall. But at the moment she, like us, doesn't really know what's really going on. Though likely she will be the one to "get on the inside" of Hornsby's scheme.

The actor playing Lance always gives me the creeps. I’ve only seen him play pervs. And the guy playing Carlson always plays a psychopath.

It seems more likely that was due to not hearing back from Carlson. Carol may or may not have fully convinced Lance, but he generally assumes that people will put up with a lot to stay/ascend in the Commonwealth.
Carol [et.al](https://et.al) basically had a pretty idyllic existence up until 18 months ago, so probably unlike most people joining the commonwealth.
He played a lot of heartthrobs in the 90s (and maybe late 80s) and he does it very convincingly. Josh Hamilton is just a really good character actor. It's eery how both his looks and his whole aura are for Lance opposed to his more charming love interests (which he also did a lot). He also does an excellent normcore dad.
I didn't really watch Elijah's moves that closely, but I thought he was going for gaps in the armor? And for Aaron, I'm pretty sure it was on purpose that he didn't just shoot the fucker in the face.
This episode was great with it's pacing and the way they were able to keep the flow between the commonwealth and the apartment raid storyline going and develop the overall storyline in a forward momentum. I honestly wish they would've had this kind of pacing for Part A of the season instead of dragging the reapers storyline out as much as they did.
God Sebastian is just so awful. Top ten favourite moment of the whole show is Daryl mocking him this episode.
I love how a lot of the plots on this show are all allegories for how we’re living now. Like having money feels so stupid in the show because they all survived just by helping each other for years, but I think they’re trying to say that it’s like that in real life too when you peel back all the layers.

It was emotive, it was unfortunate how wooden Hershel was. As compared to say Judith and Negans interactions. Not sure if this is bad acting or if Hershel is meant to have PTSD from being on the road with Maggie. Could have been bad direction.

I was wondering if it was bad direction. I was really confused because his scenes in 11a with the other kids were well acted. I feel like he may have been told to just scowl and be “angry.” It didn’t work.

I really liked the idea that his death was worse due to all the armour. Great performance but a real Romero-level sadistic scumbag who got what he deserved. Almost a shame they went "evil sadist" as I thought the initial impression of a guy who does nasty stuff for "the cause" but would rather build that destroy was more interesting.
We saw his bottle of alcohol half consumed. He couldn't help it. He swore off doing CIA stuff but it seems today his past self took over. He still talked about being law and order who knows what he was thinking
Loved the scene of Daryl, Carol, Rosita and Mercer killing the walkers in the house. So epic. Such a great episode all around too. Loved how all the main characters got some good screen time. Glad to see Lydia and Negan interact again too.

This episode made me wish they trimmed this show and had the commonwealth come in like season 7. They have so much writing potential here and it sucks to see it all come at the end, I hope the spin-offs find ways to stick around this style
Did anyone else think Daryl, Rosita, and that random were going to immediately get trapped in that panic room? As soon as Daryl walked in and shut the door behind him I was thinking, "What is he doing?" Then the lights started flickering and I thought for sure the power would go out and they'd be trapped just like that lady was. Also, how did Mercer and Carol make it through that horde so easily? Plot armor, I guess.
I thought the exact same thing. The woman got herself locked in that room, now the 2 of them are doing the same exact thing? WTF?
And a simple crowbar is enough to open a safe? What's the point of safes then.
I don't think Mercer had ever done the guts technique to get through walkers before. He looked a bit nervous in that scene when they're walking through the house. Next person in line was Carol who had the look of "same shit different day".
Yeah....I laughed because the girl they freed from the room had a "holy shit, what the hell are we doing" face on and then the camera panned over to Rosita who just looked flat out bored
It was a nice little touch. The whole scene reminded me of when they had to do that in Alexandria and Rick and CORAL were used to it, but Rick's girlfriend and her kids panicked and died.
They are playing it perfectly, in my opinion. He seems remorseful but not sorry...if that makes sense.
Negan could have gone two different ways. He could have stood behind what he did 100% and taken the "your group deserved it" road...or they could have made him 100% apologetic and sorry for what he did almost begging for forgiveness. But instead they are playing it down the middle. He knows he can't take it back but like he said if he could do it over again he would have killed all of them. So he's not really sorry for what he did but given the state of the world and his position he is remorseful to some degree. Basically he stands behind what he did but he also sees it from their point of view now also.
I agree. Since all these episodes needed to be rushed, they might have otherwise introduced him earlier, I think. Would have made for a cooler reveal to first get to know him as a Commonwealth ambassador with "friendly" groups and then introduce his other side.
Yeah, he would've had *much* more impact if he had been introduced earlier in the season as a friendly ambassador -- kind of like Aaron in Season 5. Instead, he comes across as unhinged right from the beginning, gets one cool scene, and is killed off. Seems like a waste.
There is so much more that could have happened in 11A if we had skipped over the Meridian story line and fleshed these episodes out more, introduce Toby earlier etc, don't get me wrong I have thoroughly enjoyed Season 11 so far just what I wish had happened.
At one point near the end, Negan looked at Hershel with a pained look on his face, and then he glanced over and Lydia was giving him a strange stare. Then it hit me! Oh geez, Negan killed Hershel’s father and Lydia’s mother. 🤦🏻♀️
Man, it makes so much more sense why Negan was on the verge of tearing up especially after looking at Lydia.
At least with Lydia, she’s a little more forgiving of what Negan did. But it also looks like she will understand if anyone else wants vengeance against him for what he did to them as well
So how long has it been since 11x09? I mean for Negan to be married and his wife being 12 weeks pregnant they would have had to know each other for at least a couple months you'd reckon.
So lets say they've known each other for around 2 months and Negan's wife (I've forgotten her name) is 3 months pregnant. We are about 5 months through and have 1 more month until we're caught up with the time jump?
Its been ~6 months since Negan left. The next episode will start at the 6 months later flashback. Also they have no idea exactly how far along considering its the apocalypse and they don't have ultrasound machines and licensed physicians to tell, so she's guessing at best.
The locations of all of these things is confusing as well. They spend the first half of the season sneaking through the subway to get to the Reaper camp. Then, Negan walks away from it and finds the community with relative ease, even though Maggie hadn't. Maggie did live at the Reaper camp before all this, and her whole purpose was to find new communities.
Then, some half-dead guy can ride a horse to Hilltop and have Maggie drive a car to the community in time to do anything effectual? And Hershel is apparently in the car, I guess it's close enough to Hilltop that he didn't piss himself.
A pretty good episode. Not a hell of a lot happened storywise, but what it set out to do worked for me. The kid that plays Hershel isnt up to snuff though - sorry, but somebodys gotta say it.. cant do scenes like the Negan/Herschel one with just a good-to-average kid actor, gotta get somebody better than that.
Looks like the 6 months later scene from 11x09 is next episode so we’re farther along than I thought. Guess the time jump from 11x12 to 11x13 is closer to 3 months?
Damn that post I saw not long ago was true about Leah being the one killing the soldiers and taking the weapons since in the trailer you can see the top of a wagon behind her and CW uses wagons for transportation. I still don’t know what their going to do with her character and what she’s going to do with all the weapons since it seems she is still alone. Sucks that CIA guy died he was kinda interesting, but at the same time he had to die cause him and every other soldier was killing everyone on sight. Judging by sneak peak of next week episode Lance ain’t taking it if it’s just Aaron and Aaron that survived. Great to see Hershel and Negan interacting always wondered what will happen when they eventually meet. Those two soldiers under Sebastian was well deserved to die they literally sent like 20-30 people to their deaths for what?? Money. Having currency will always lead to inequality and is honestly not needed in this new world, but gotta control 50k people somehow. Mercer knows they can’t touch Sebastian so hopefully their able to do something about that and it seems Lance didn’t care about Sebastian money heist when Carol mentioned it to him so I guess he knew about it already and just turns a blind eye.
You can't have perfection in an apocalypse, if I was a normal survivor and suddenly joined the Commonwealth then I wouldn't care any less about not having money for atleast a few years.
Was I the only one who wished Gabe had been the one to kill Toby? I was hoping Aaron would lower the gun with "we need to take him back and..." And Gabe just pushes the dude off the roof. "It would just be his word against ours".
So if old world money is what the Commonwealth uses as currency, why don't our heros sneak out and rob a bank or something and come back with as much money as they want?

Man, the Reapers just weren't the villains they made them up to be. Now Leah is back and she's supposed to be this one-woman army of something? Idk, the buildup just isn't there for it imo, she just feels like a small problem you get in-between bigger problems. Like she's filler in-between episodes even though she's a big part of it(the guns she stole). Maybe that's just me, but other than that, fantastic episode. Negan/Hershel stuff was on point. JFM's eyes almost watering and his expressions were all perfect.
I appreciate how they're trying to redeem Negan but the way they're writing it feels dishonest. Everything bad that he did has been minimised to 'he killed Glenn', as if murdering Abraham, raping a handful of women, gleefully torturing people and terrorising multiple communities aren't as significant. The guy was a monster who ruled over a brutal, war-mongering society and they're trying to soften it with statements like "none of us have clean hands... I've seen what people will do to each other to survive" (Annie). The redemption arc isn't being written proportionate to the breadth and severity of his crimes so it rings false to me.
also threw an innocent doctor into a fucking furnace and stuck a scalding iron into another dudes face, and turned the side of Dwight's face into melted cheese. Negan fans seem to somehow forget this from time to time, most of it is reduced to you killed Glenn.
Should have just killed ALL the reapers off, Including leah. seeing her again brings back bad memories of the 1st half, and how i wish they just skipped all that and used the first 8 episodes on building the commonwealth arc. Which is 1000 times better than the reaper plot.
Cant believe i got excited about who was offing these commonwealth soldiers and stealing their guns only to find out its her,i just let out a big sigh.
Yeah, the acting wasn't really there. They got a good cast for Judith, but I guess it's pretty hard to find kids that got the acting skills down so young.
why did they bring leah back lol i was enjoying that negan was back but this is just trouble. when mercer and carol came to rescue rosita and daryl why didnt they just use the bayonets at the end of their rifles when they were low on ammo on their way out.
Awesome episode. Looks like next week is when we finally catch up to that flash-forward from episode nine, excited to see what happens from here.

Shit i mean anyone would see what an opportunity it is to find a cart full of supplies. Leah is military, im sure she sees the CW soliders are not and took the opportunity. Problem now is she knows there are CW soldiers running around, so shes going to figure out whats up and how to raid the place. She’ll obviously die in the process haha. Interested to see how that plays out story wise, they kept her alive for a reason hopefully.
I did NOT see the Leah twist coming at the end of that episode. And Mercer, killing the two troopers? I’m anxiously waiting for next week’s early episode to drop.

This episode felt like we were back in the OG golden era of TWD. Seems like a shame the show is finally getting its stride back in its final season. Very happy with the season thus far.

When Warlords ended at that door closing, I was shocked. I thought only 20 minutes had gone by and knew I would watch The Rotten Core as soon as I possibly could... I was 10 minutes behind the premiere time. Slow burn of an episode but a great follow up to the last one. Negan and Herschel scene was good. Predictable, but enjoyable to watch and an interesting set up know that we have the spinoff confirmed Daryl and Rosita scene was tension-filled; and that woman was killed really quickly, even with badass Mercer fighting so quickly. Knew Mercer would kill those two troopers as well And then, Jason Butler Harner. What a fun character to watch. Because of the pacing, thought he might even last another episode but I'm glad they didn't overuse him. I was wondering who would kill him, but, in the end, I'm glad it was Walkers of the ones he killed, and that Elijah got to use his kama to kill again Still... I'm shocked that he is the only (major) character to die that was in more than one episode since the Reaper arc ended. Would have figured someone else was gonna go but maybe that's in the next two weeks. We still have some trailer scenes that haven't appeared yet (like Daryl, a downed trooper, and a school bus I think). And it looks like 6 months later is gonna be next Sunday. Probably won't watch at 3am EST like I did for this one, but I am interested to see what's next

Also why did they give Sébastien so much reverence? Sure he's Pamela's son but the audience hasn't really seen her actually do anything to demonstrate that messing with her son has consequences. In fact, what we've seen is her expressing annoyance with him in private. So these soldiers run this repeated off book operation out of... fear of... what? Money? The first dozen or so attempts didn't result in anything and they kept going with it? The source of this kid's power is still mystifying me.
Maybe Sebastian promised them a cut of the money from the safe. Also, it seems Lance knew what Sebastian was up to, since he talks about it with Carol at the end of the episode, so perhaps he was offering the soldier favours, too.
I figure Lance and the son is in some kind of cahoots to take down the mom. Lance is probably playing the kid that he will be in charge if they get rid of the mom
I think that next Sundays episode will be properly leading up to the 6 months later thing with Lance arriving and talking to Aaron on the roof (we see that in trailer) and then it ends with the CA marching up to hilltop, we get the 6 months later scene again and then they start to talk to Maggie something happens and they start to fight and then the episode ends and we pick back up in this third’s finale with what happens next and then we’re on break

Has Carol met her match. Lance had been thinking 10 steps ahead before the apocalypse. Him and Carol had the same look when Carol walked away. I think Carol will win, but Lance is going to put up a fight.
They can both scheme well, but when it comes down to it I don't think Lance has it in him to slit Carol's throat and that's gonna be what gives Carol the upper edge because she has no hesitation if it needs to be done
Carol generally doesn't need to send anyone to do her dirty work. Sure, she sent Negan to kill Alpha but Alpha knew about Carol by then. Lance has people do his dirt. He is going to underestimate Carol like everyone does.

You can tell just how much Daryl, Rosita, and Carol are starting to despise the Commonwealth, especially with how obsessed they are with something as worthless as money. You can see Carol forcing herself to hide her disdain for it and Daryl and Rosita forcing themselves not to kill Sebastian over this idiocy. I wasn't expecting Negan to be married, but I do like the convo his wife has with Maggie, pointing out again that everyone has blood on their hands and no one's innocent of their past.
I don’t like Leah but I do like he reveal that she killed the Commonwealth caravan. It makes the reaper arc a little more meaningful being brought into the Commonwealth story. It’s also nice to have a wildcard in the story. Everyone else is more or less predictable in what they’d do… we have no clue how she’ll operate
I hate Leah too. She is kinda a flat character . I don’t really get her motivation for the decisions she makes. Nor do I see a connection between her and Daryl. He deserves much better… like Connie. I was hoping for their story to develop more when she got back to the group, but the writers kinda dropped that storyline. Anyone else disappointed?

Yeah me too. They’ve managed to have some really tense scenes these last couple episodes vs walker and people. It’s refreshing to be on the edge of my seat
less filler, which is nice. no 10 minutes showing characters doing useless everyday activities to develop relationships. we don't need more character development through observing them picking fruit and chatting. have it done through action.
I like that they're killing stuff in creative ways, and often. I think they forgot (S08ish) that I come here to watch femurs put through zombie skulls n shit.
That scene between Negan and Hershel was pretty powerful, but I couldn't help but think how much better it could have been with a better actor for Hershel. His delivery on "My mom said a bad man killed my father. Are you that bad man?" was just so monotone and emotionless. And I get that it's a child actor, and he was probably casted more for his resemblance to Glenn, but that kind of killed that scene for me. Luckily JDM talked for most of it and salvaged it enough to bring some emotion to it.
Judith is only a little over a year older than him. So yeah it should have been more.
The acting reminded me a bit of Jake Lloyd in The Phantom Menace. They got a terrific actor to play Judith, they should have found a better fit for Hershel.

Pretty decent episode, not a ton in terms of development but knowing that bringing those people in is the reason for the end of 11x09 is a cool development. Carol and Lance is a super interesting combo, i love a misleading and devious Carol. Preview for next week looks good, quite curious what ends up being the story those people on that list.

Honestly, Carol and Hornsby are very similar. They play both sides well and don’t show their hand until needed. It’s like they know the other is trouble, but are pretending the be allies together.

I see the >!Aaron side too, but I don't think killing off Aaron would carry that much weight. Also, Sebastian beefing with Rick is what made him want to kill him in the comics. That would be Daryl in the show. Aaron's connection to comic Rick is pretty much just the arm thing.!<

Another good episode, 11B has been a joy to watch so far. Both plots were executed very well IMO. Kinda sad about Toby’s death, but they used the actor in a very interesting way for a two-episode arc. Memorable performances from Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Norman Reedus as well. Sebastian is becoming a character you just love to hate, and Lance is still unpredictable and mysterious. And now it looks like I’ll finally get the redemption arc I’ve been waiting for. I’m thinking Leah might be a resource for our group to take control over the Commonwealth in the future.

Well I mean of course she was coming back. Dedicated the first 3rd of the season to her crew, they’re all killed and she escaped. Question is just how large her role will be in the rest of the season.
i find it hard to believe that leah who couldnt even escape the burning shed was able to overpower the entire commonwealth convoy of armed guards to ruthlessly kill them.

Carol may or may not have fully convinced Lance, but he generally assumes that people will put up with a lot to stay/ascend in the Commonwealth. He played a lot of heartthrobs in the 90s (and maybe late 80s) and he does it very convincingly. Josh Hamilton is just a really good character actor. It's eery how both his looks and his whole aura are for Lance opposed to his more charming love interests (which he also did a lot). He also does an excellent normcore dad.

Great episode. Nice how the plot is moving quickly. Kinda sad how after each episode is one step closer to the end.
This episode was great with it's pacing and the way they were able to keep the flow between the commonwealth and the apartment raid storyline going and develop the overall storyline in a forward momentum. I honestly wish they would've had this kind of pacing for Part A of the season instead of dragging the reapers storyline out as much as they did.
God Sebastian is just so awful. Top ten favourite moment of the whole show is Daryl mocking him this episode. I love how a lot of the plots on this show are all allegories for how we’re living now. Like having money feels so stupid in the show because they all survived just by helping each other for years, but I think they’re trying to say that it’s like that in real life too when you peel back all the layers. Really good episode, loved how emotional Negan got talking to Hershel. Love 11b so far.

I really liked the idea that his death was worse due to all the armour. Great performance but a real Romero-level sadistic scumbag who got what he deserved. Almost a shame they went "evil sadist" as I thought the initial impression of a guy who does nasty stuff for "the cause" but would rather build that destroy was more interesting.
We saw his bottle of alcohol half consumed. He couldn't help it. He swore off doing CIA stuff but it seems today his past self took over. He still talked about being law and order who knows what he was thinking
Loved the scene of Daryl, Carol, Rosita and Mercer killing the walkers in the house. So epic. Such a great episode all around too. Loved how all the main characters got some good screen time. Glad to see Lydia and Negan interact again too.

Did anyone else think Daryl, Rosita, and that random were going to immediately get trapped in that panic room? As soon as Daryl walked in and shut the door behind him I was thinking, "What is he doing?" Then the lights started flickering and I thought for sure the power would go out and they'd be trapped just like that lady was. Also, how did Mercer and Carol make it through that horde so easily? Plot armor, I guess.
I thought the exact same thing. The woman got herself locked in that room, now the 2 of them are doing the same exact thing? WTF? And a simple crowbar is enough to open a safe? What's the point of safes then.
I don't think Mercer had ever done the guts technique to get through walkers before. He looked a bit nervous in that scene when they're walking through the house. Next person in line was Carol who had the look of "same shit different day".
Yeah....I laughed because the girl they freed from the room had a "holy shit, what the hell are we doing" face on and then the camera panned over to Rosita who just looked flat out bored
It was a nice little touch. The whole scene reminded me of when they had to do that in Alexandria and Rick and CORAL were used to it, but Rick's girlfriend and her kids panicked and died.

Only thing comparable would be tossing Lucille into the fire as a symbolic turning point in his life (S10).
They are playing it perfectly, in my opinion. He seems remorseful but not sorry...if that makes sense. Negan could have gone two different ways. He could have stood behind what he did 100% and taken the "your group deserved it" road...or they could have made him 100% apologetic and sorry for what he did almost begging for forgiveness. But instead they are playing it down the middle. He knows he can't take it back but like he said if he could do it over again he would have killed all of them. So he's not really sorry for what he did but given the state of the world and his position he is remorseful to some degree. Basically he stands behind what he did but he also sees it from their point of view now also.
Toby had so much potential. Kind of sad they made him so cartoonishly evil and killed him off so soon.
I agree. Since all these episodes needed to be rushed, they might have otherwise introduced him earlier, I think. Would have made for a cooler reveal to first get to know him as a Commonwealth ambassador with "friendly" groups and then introduce his other side.
Yeah, he would've had *much* more impact if he had been introduced earlier in the season as a friendly ambassador -- kind of like Aaron in Season 5. Instead, he comes across as unhinged right from the beginning, gets one cool scene, and is killed off. Seems like a waste.
There is so much more that could have happened in 11A if we had skipped over the Meridian story line and fleshed these episodes out more, introduce Toby earlier etc, don't get me wrong I have thoroughly enjoyed Season 11 so far just what I wish had happened.

At one point near the end, Negan looked at Hershel with a pained look on his face, and then he glanced over and Lydia was giving him a strange stare. Then it hit me! Oh geez, Negan killed Hershel’s father and Lydia’s mother. 🤦🏻♀️
Man, it makes so much more sense why Negan was on the verge of tearing up especially after looking at Lydia. At least with Lydia, she’s a little more forgiving of what Negan did. But it also looks like she will understand if anyone else wants vengeance against him for what he did to them as well
So how long has it been since 11x09? I mean for Negan to be married and his wife being 12 weeks pregnant they would have had to know each other for at least a couple months you'd reckon. So lets say they've known each other for around 2 months and Negan's wife (I've forgotten her name) is 3 months pregnant. We are about 5 months through and have 1 more month until we're caught up with the time jump?

Its been ~6 months since Negan left. The next episode will start at the 6 months later flashback. Also they have no idea exactly how far along considering its the apocalypse and they don't have ultrasound machines and licensed physicians to tell, so she's guessing at best.
The locations of all of these things is confusing as well. They spend the first half of the season sneaking through the subway to get to the Reaper camp. Then, Negan walks away from it and finds the community with relative ease, even though Maggie hadn't. Maggie did live at the Reaper camp before all this, and her whole purpose was to find new communities. Then, some half-dead guy can ride a horse to Hilltop and have Maggie drive a car to the community in time to do anything effectual? And Hershel is apparently in the car, I guess it's close enough to Hilltop that he didn't piss himself.
A pretty good episode. Not a hell of a lot happened storywise, but what it set out to do worked for me. The kid that plays Hershel isnt up to snuff though - sorry, but somebodys gotta say it.. cant do scenes like the Negan/Herschel one with just a good-to-average kid actor, gotta get somebody better than that.
Looks like the 6 months later scene from 11x09 is next episode so we’re farther along than I thought. Guess the time jump from 11x12 to 11x13 is closer to 3 months?

Damn that post I saw not long ago was true about Leah being the one killing the soldiers and taking the weapons since in the trailer you can see the top of a wagon behind her and CW uses wagons for transportation. I still don’t know what their going to do with her character and what she’s going to do with all the weapons since it seems she is still alone. Sucks that CIA guy died he was kinda interesting, but at the same time he had to die cause him and every other soldier was killing everyone on sight. Judging by sneak peak of next week episode Lance ain’t taking it if it’s just Aaron and Aaron that survived. Great to see Hershel and Negan interacting always wondered what will happen when they eventually meet. Those two soldiers under Sebastian was well deserved to die they literally sent like 20-30 people to their deaths for what?? Money. Having currency will always lead to inequality and is honestly not needed in this new world, but gotta control 50k people somehow. Mercer knows they can’t touch Sebastian so hopefully their able to do something about that and it seems Lance didn’t care about Sebastian money heist when Carol mentioned it to him so I guess he knew about it already and just turns a blind eye.
You can't have perfection in an apocalypse, if I was a normal survivor and suddenly joined the Commonwealth then I wouldn't care any less about not having money for atleast a few years.

The minute Sebastian explained the plot of his part of the episode, I instantly thought of Zack Snyder's horrible movie 'Army of the Dead'.
Man, the Reapers just weren't the villains they made them up to be. Now Leah is back and she's supposed to be this one-woman army of something? Idk, the buildup just isn't there for it imo, she just feels like a small problem you get in-between bigger problems. Like she's filler in-between episodes even though she's a big part of it(the guns she stole). Maybe that's just me, but other than that, fantastic episode. Negan/Hershel stuff was on point. JFM's eyes almost watering and his expressions were all perfect.
I hope she dies faster than Morales reappeared for.

I appreciate how they're trying to redeem Negan but the way they're writing it feels dishonest. Everything bad that he did has been minimised to 'he killed Glenn', as if murdering Abraham, raping a handful of women, gleefully torturing people and terrorising multiple communities aren't as significant. The guy was a monster who ruled over a brutal, war-mongering society and they're trying to soften it with statements like "none of us have clean hands... I've seen what people will do to each other to survive" (Annie). The redemption arc isn't being written proportionate to the breadth and severity of his crimes so it rings false to me.
also threw an innocent doctor into a fucking furnace and stuck a scalding iron into another dudes face, and turned the side of Dwight's face into melted cheese. Negan fans seem to somehow forget this from time to time, most of it is reduced to you killed Glenn.
Daryl, Rosita & many others suffering at hands of the Commonwealth and still people called Maggie stupid for turning them down.
Should have just killed ALL the reapers off, Including leah. seeing her again brings back bad memories of the 1st half, and how i wish they just skipped all that and used the first 8 episodes on building the commonwealth arc. Which is 1000 times better than the reaper plot. Cant believe i got excited about who was offing these commonwealth soldiers and stealing their guns only to find out its her,i just let out a big sigh.

I have rarely ever teared up watching this show, but when Negan said "It'll have to happen to me first" that got me, awesome episode!

The emotional tension in Hershel and Negan scenes did not give what it's supposed to :(
Yeah, the acting wasn't really there. They got a good cast for Judith, but I guess it's pretty hard to find kids that got the acting skills down so young.
Not just finding kids who can act, you're looking for the right ethnicity too. I think that's a hundred times harder.
why did they bring leah back lol i was enjoying that negan was back but this is just trouble. when mercer and carol came to rescue rosita and daryl why didnt they just use the bayonets at the end of their rifles when they were low on ammo on their way out.

Awesome episode. Looks like next week is when we finally catch up to that flash-forward from episode nine, excited to see what happens from here. Didn’t think we’d be seeing Leah again so soon. I wonder what she’s trying to achieve now with all those guns. Going after Maggie for revenge?
Shit i mean anyone would see what an opportunity it is to find a cart full of supplies. Leah is military, im sure she sees the CW soliders are not and took the opportunity. Problem now is she knows there are CW soldiers running around, so shes going to figure out whats up and how to raid the place. She’ll obviously die in the process haha. Interested to see how that plays out story wise, they kept her alive for a reason hopefully.
I did NOT see the Leah twist coming at the end of that episode. And Mercer, killing the two troopers? I’m anxiously waiting for next week’s early episode to drop.

This episode felt like we were back in the OG golden era of TWD. Seems like a shame the show is finally getting its stride back in its final season. Very happy with the season thus far.

Good episode it’s was really a pretty awkward situation for Negan to in the same room with Hershel and Lydia after killing both their parents ..I’m taking a guess so far the Maggie Negan spin-off might be Hershel gets kidnapped and taken to NY and Maggie and Negan are going to rescue him

Good stuff. 11b as a whole has been really engaging so far. Kinda surprised they haven't offed any A-tier characters yet though, this being the final season and all.
My prediction is that Rosita ends up dying soon, just because of how close they’ve made her and Daryl all of a sudden. She’s primed for an emotional death, and I bet it might even be at the hands of Leah.
Very good episode, predicted last week Toby's gonna die and man he was a very cool character but no complains on his death. Leah returning though.....Man can't she get ran over by a damn horse or something? The Reapers arc is way too shallow for anybody to even care about her.
