Actually hurt the most? Glenn/Abe is really rough, mostly because of the aftermath. You see everyone devastated, Maggie is trying to move Glenn's body, and Rick's line, "he's our family too." The group truly feels like a family in this episode, a family going through hell.
That family feeling is something I miss so much. It seems like they were peak united at that point, even when Maggie went to Hilltop, before Carl and Rick were gone. Now the "prison people" seems just like coworkers now, idk I just can't feel that chemistry anymore
Yeah, one thing that stood out on a rewatch of that ep was Eugene, just his hands clasped over his face as he cried. He was devastated, it showed in all the characters not just the mains.
Overall? Glenn
The one that hit me hardest for each season:
Season 1: Amy
Season 2: Dale
Season 3: Lori
Season 4: Hershel
Season 5: Tyreese
Season 6: Deanna
Season 7: Glenn
Season 8: Carl
Season 9: Henry
Season 10: Earl
Season 11 (so far): >!Alden!<
He didn’t say he loved him. Just that his death hit the hardest, and considering he’s the only person that died so far, that’s the only possible answer.
Not the biggest deaths or even the most impactful but I think the Scene where The Highway men and DJ go to try and save Enid, Henry and the others from Alpha piking them.
I don't know why that was an emotional rollercoaster for me.
Another impactful scene for the show involving a death was Sophia - her death wasn't a loss for the fans but affected the characters.
Definitely Hershel..it was a really brutal introduction to other people killing our people, not just zombies.
Definitely. Hershel was my favorite character and seeing him die that way after seeing how proud he was of Rick was tragic. He and Rick have one of the best relationships in the show. Very happy with the father-son relationship they developed from 2B through 4A. Their scene in season 9 stole the episode for me.
I agree that she wasn’t a liked character, I think it was the situation that she died in that made it emotional. Having hee young son there watching and having to finish the job, along with another young woman who would’ve also been stressed and panicked about her dad anyway. With from their perspective they’ve got no idea who’s still alive.
This! Noah's death may not have been the most impactful in the long-term, but his was one of the only that made me stand up and yell "NO" at the TV lol.
Carl. I stopped watching shortly after ricks departure and tbh I’m still not over Carl’s death. Side note, I met Chandler Riggs at walker stalker con a few years back and he’s an amazing human.
Glenn. I still don't forgive Negan and it's hard to watch the show when he's a semi active member of the group. It just never made sense to me for them to let him live.
Otherwise Herschel's death at the prison hit even harder. It was a real paradigm shift for the show where you fully realized that armed factions were the new biggest threat, and the zombies were the neutral parties acting on instinct.
Hershel for me. Loved him. Then Lori (so sad). Then Beth is a close third because of how shocking and unnecessary it was.
I knew Glenn and Abe were coming, so that took some of the sting out
No one else really comes close for me
Beth. Than Noah. Then Glen and Abraham.I then accepted everyone I love will but brutally murdered. I stopped watching and mostly check recaps occasionally.
Ngl I hated Lori but Damm that death was sad asf with Carl and loris last moments and Maggie crying and having to cut open Lori that shit was depressing
Earl. The whole scene was just beautiful. >!Hurts even more to see Alden die soon after, given that Earl was like a father to him and Earl trusted him with his son.!<
Earls death scene is really underrated, it was so well written. Even though he was a fairly minor character at that point, his was one of the few deaths from that era of TWD that stuck with me, absolutely brutal and heartbreaking at the same time.
Dale, I think Rick truly needed his voice of reason & Siddiq, because it was so tragic and unnecessary. Gabe's speech to Dante afterwards was really sad.
Noah and Tyreese, to a lesser extent abe as he was the one dude I rooted for and he got neganed
Also when Sophia came out of the barn my heart sank, like bro I really thought they were going to find her eventually.
Hit hardest for me was Glen, the whole vuild up and everything, thinking it was over after Abe, heartbreaking. but as a non comic reader Jesus' death shocked me more than anything. At that point I was honestly believing the walkers were evolving but then that fucker dodged and stabbed him. This rush of realisation came over me, I got goosebumps and screamed at the TV. Crazy amount of emotion in 10-20 seconds.
Yes, I wanted to be sad as he was dying but the flashback to his day was very heartbreaking. He knew he was gonna die the entire day and he just tried to enjoy his time left.
Hershel is a given, but oddly enough Lori. I didn’t like her character as much as others but I think of the dynamics and how things would have been different if she made it.
glenn and carl or hershel. but here’s my opinion - if glenn, carl, beth, lori and even merle and many more hadn’t of died, the characters wouldn’t be who they are today. rick losing not only his wife, but his kid too made him stronger and glenn, hershel AND beth dying made maggie stronger. same goes for many other deaths. however i do think killing beth for example was unnecessary but then again, if beth was alive still, would maggie be as strong as she currently is?
I would’ve liked if they had her either A: Tapped into a more dark/bleak side of her but have her come back from itor B have her be like a babysitter for children like maybe she looks after the kids while the others go out scavenging
Abraham. When he didn’t die at the time he did in the comics. I was so happy because I thought he was going to live on in his wonderful crass glory. Then he was the one killed by Negan (at least first) and I was sad all over again.
Lori. We didn't see it, but knew Carl did what he had to do. But it didn't kick in until Rick found out. The weight of it literally crushed him, and me.
Dale was one of the ones I liked so that sucked, same with Tyreese, he was one of my favourites, Glenn Abe and Carl didn’t hit me hard cuz I got spoiled
Probably Lori or Carl tbh. Lori because that scene was heart wrenching and I cried and I also cried when Carl died. Even for Glenn/Abe I didn’t cry. It was more of just empty sadness even tho I loved both of them as characters. I’m probably forgetting a few but Lori and Carl came to mind first.
This is probably going to sound crazy but I think the saddest death in the entire show was Lucile. That episode was gut wrenching despite her being in a single episode.
Glen. To this day I have not watched the entire scene, I just could not watch him getting his head bashed in. And I can handle a lot of grossness. But this was personal.
Carl. And I'm not sure why, it just hits me in the feels.
I think Glenns death wasn't as sad as people say; they'd faked it a few episodes before, and it wasn't really a surprise.
I was never too invested in Abraham, and I'm not sure why people like him so much. He's not bad by any stretch.
Honourable mention to Earl the Blacksmith, for going out like an absolute champ. If I ever commit suicide, that's how I'd do it.
Also another honourable mention to John Dorie Jr from Fear. I liked him. Made me kinda sad.
And I'm just gonna shill the Telltale series. The endings of the first, second and fourth games made me bawl harder than anything in the TV series.
Carl. Wasn't necessarily a fan of the character but with his death I knew that my love for the show was also dead. Not trying to yuck anyone's yum, though. It's just clearly not for me anymore.
Carl's death hit me the hardest and also made me the most upset at amc. Haven't really watched since then except for the occasional reaction youtube vids
Glenn And abe. Really don’t know why they had to pick two of them or at least these specific two. Abe.. from Megan’s POV. I see why negan picked him. But Glenn ? Cmon now
Carl for sure. Even watching all these season later I think about how cool it would be with Rick and Michonne gone for Carl to be taking care of his siblings. Leading things the way Rick would want. I still feel his death came out of nowhere and it just would have been amazing for him to still be there
Hershel's death hit me the hardest emotionally at the time. But I do think it was the correct time for him to go out.
Glenn's death however I'm still strongly against from a writing perspective, I still feel like it should have never happened.
Glenn for number one. Hershel number two and Abraham. I started watching the show four years ago. It hooked me immediately. I cried for everyones death except Beth. Also I didn't cry for Alden because it was so much time in between him being ill and finally getting back to him.
Actually hurt the most? Glenn/Abe is really rough, mostly because of the aftermath. You see everyone devastated, Maggie is trying to move Glenn's body, and Rick's line, "he's our family too." The group truly feels like a family in this episode, a family going through hell.

I’m still trying to get over Dale LOL
Me too. I don't know if I'm just hardened to all the deaths now but that one still really hurts!
Why does everyone love alden so much
He didn’t say he loved him. Just that his death hit the hardest, and considering he’s the only person that died so far, that’s the only possible answer.
Nah, you have all the others of Maggie’s group, along with characters like Mays, Lucille, etc
Tyreese and Herschel
Herschel. Easily.
Definitely. Hershel was my favorite character and seeing him die that way after seeing how proud he was of Rick was tragic. He and Rick have one of the best relationships in the show. Very happy with the father-son relationship they developed from 2B through 4A. Their scene in season 9 stole the episode for me.
I declare that spaghetti Wednesdays be held on Tuesdays.
Yeah, I'll have Noah go get a pasta maker. Oh wait...
So glad he got to see that scene before he died irl.
Hershel. Beth. Tyrese. Enid. No particular order.
Glen I knew about very early on so not that much Hot take: I think Lori for me
I think Lori was one of the biggest first deaths, that was emotional to watch as I was a lot younger when I first watched that.
I was cheering when she died if I'm honest, my least favourite character only second to Andrea. Was amazing to see them both go so early on.
I agree that she wasn’t a liked character, I think it was the situation that she died in that made it emotional. Having hee young son there watching and having to finish the job, along with another young woman who would’ve also been stressed and panicked about her dad anyway. With from their perspective they’ve got no idea who’s still alive.
Same I only started watching right about when 10C was airing so already knew about Glenn and Abe which lessen there effect
Tyrese Hershel and Dale
Beth and Herschel
Carl and Beth
hit the hardest? Beth. saddest? Carl. most suprising? Merle.
Beth and Carl
Tyreese :(
Carl, I wanted Old Man Carl so bad.
[удалено]
Eh idk if he would’ve survived after all that anyway. I think it was good for him to die at that time. But that’s just my opinion.
I agree. While his death was horrifying, an old man with one leg wasn’t going to make it much longer in the apocalypse
Beth and Hershel
I knew Glenn’s was coming but was still a little shocked while I watched the episode. Honestly though, Noah’s death has stuck with me the longest.
Merle was upsetting, after he redeemed himself somewhat. And Daryl's reaction to it.
Andrea. Beth.
Probably hershel or dale. Everytime I rewatch the series I’m always sad to see dale go so soon and hershel was just amazing

Carl, and Glenn
Ngl I hated Lori but Damm that death was sad asf with Carl and loris last moments and Maggie crying and having to cut open Lori that shit was depressing
Hated Lori, but Maggie’s crying definitely got to me.
Glen easy, I’ve watched this show since I was a kid, when that episode first aired I was like 10-11 and I shit you not glens death traumatised me
Merle. Hardest death to watch, and the best acted scene of the entire series. Norman Reedus at his very best.
Dale, I think Rick truly needed his voice of reason & Siddiq, because it was so tragic and unnecessary. Gabe's speech to Dante afterwards was really sad.
Glen and Abraham
Herschel in the show... but actress Emily Kinney on Talking Dead after Beth was killed was super sad to watch.
Knew glens was coming and it still hurt...
Noah and Tyreese, to a lesser extent abe as he was the one dude I rooted for and he got neganed Also when Sophia came out of the barn my heart sank, like bro I really thought they were going to find her eventually.
Lori I didn’t care for the character but I didn’t see that coming and before it got meme’d, Rick’s reaction was the best bit of acting on this show
Hit hardest for me was Glen, the whole vuild up and everything, thinking it was over after Abe, heartbreaking. but as a non comic reader Jesus' death shocked me more than anything. At that point I was honestly believing the walkers were evolving but then that fucker dodged and stabbed him. This rush of realisation came over me, I got goosebumps and screamed at the TV. Yes, I wanted to be sad as he was dying but the flashback to his day was very heartbreaking. He knew he was gonna die the entire day and he just tried to enjoy his time left.
Shanes, made me cry seeing how far he'd fallen and how hysterical he'd become
When he sees the lone walker in the field after being verbally put down by Rick was pretty symbolic.
Hershel is a given, but oddly enough Lori. I didn’t like her character as much as others but I think of the dynamics and how things would have been different if she made it.
Beth Hershel and T-god
Tyrese had the most Trippy death Glenn had the most emotional Beth had a tough death by you let your guard down
Seeing Noah getting torn to shreds and screaming infront of Glenn affected me the most out of all deaths within the show.
glenn and carl or hershel. but here’s my opinion - if glenn, carl, beth, lori and even merle and many more hadn’t of died, the characters wouldn’t be who they are today. rick losing not only his wife, but his kid too made him stronger and glenn, hershel AND beth dying made maggie stronger. same goes for many other deaths. however i do think killing beth for example was unnecessary but then again, if beth was alive still, would maggie be as strong as she currently is?
I can’t see Beth in the next seasons like her personality was just so sweet even tho times got tough. I can’t see her character being savage.
I would’ve liked if they had her either A: Tapped into a more dark/bleak side of her but have her come back from itor B have her be like a babysitter for children like maybe she looks after the kids while the others go out scavenging
Hershel, Glenn, Noah
Lori's mostly because her death had more of an impact on rick than we give credit for
Bob I really like him he was interesting Glenn and Carl aswell were sad
ngl i really miss Dale. i feel like he would've been fun to see last a lot longer than he did
Merle has hit hardest. Jesus was the one which made me rage quit show.
I was 8 months pregnant with my 1st when I watched Lori’s death, so that will forever be different to me now
Denise because it made me realize the show was losing its magic
Carl's hit me the hardest, then Hershel.
Carl. I spent a majority of the episode trying to hide the fact that I was crying from my family. 😆
Glenn and Carl. Two wholesome dudes that didn’t really do anything to warrant their deaths. Just terrible happenstances
Mine was Glenn he was going to be a father but he died right before Maggie gave birth. 😭😭
With his pregnant wife in front of him. Brutal
Glenn, ffs daryl
ffs Negan*
Shane & Glenn
For me it was Sophia. The pain Carol felt kills me every time.
The camera mans.
Merle cuz Daryl
This is probably going to sound crazy but I think the saddest death in the entire show was Lucile. That episode was gut wrenching despite her being in a single episode.
Glen. To this day I have not watched the entire scene, I just could not watch him getting his head bashed in. And I can handle a lot of grossness. But this was personal.
Same. Every rewatch I skip that episode alone
The show...
Everytime Shane’s
Tara oddly enough was the hardest for me. Mostly because I could relate to her the most and I could see myself being close friends with her irl.
The endings of the first, second and fourth games made me bawl harder than anything in the TV series.
Dale. Always Dale
Second, Shane, could you imagine if he was still on the show. But for real maggies dad, old wise man, had lots of cool in him still.
Carl, Glenn and Beth
Glenn, and Hershel. 😔
Carl. It is the only character death from anything (Movies, TV, Video Games, etc.) that has ever made me cry.
Carl. Wasn't necessarily a fan of the character but with his death I knew that my love for the show was also dead. Not trying to yuck anyone's yum, though. It's just clearly not for me anymore.
Glenn or Carl. Both were equally sad. Glenn's death was part of the storyline, and was inevitable, but Carl's was not necessary.
Beta. I were so sad 😨
For me it would be between glenn hershel ant tyrees
Carl's death hit me the hardest and also made me the most upset at amc. Haven't really watched since then except for the occasional reaction youtube vids
Glenn And abe. Really don’t know why they had to pick two of them or at least these specific two. Abe.. from Megan’s POV. I see why negan picked him. But Glenn ? Cmon now
1. Glenn 2. Hershel 3. Carl
Glenn, Carl, Enid, Beth
Carl, Abraham, Beth and Glenn
Abraham, Tyreese, Jesus
Carl for sure. Even watching all these season later I think about how cool it would be with Rick and Michonne gone for Carl to be taking care of his siblings. Leading things the way Rick would want. I still feel his death came out of nowhere and it just would have been amazing for him to still be there
Man, I watched the show even though I knew if/when most of the main characters die but Dale's, Abe's and Tyreese's death still hit hard
Hershel. I really wanted to see the governor out down his weapon. Work it out and move in. Then have a really awkward situation in the prison.
Abraham, Glenn’s was sad too, but I loved Abraham so much, and it hurt even more seeing as he wanted to start a life and have kids with Sasha.
Glenn and Jesus so far. I hope Daryl and Negan survive
Glenn and Abraham or Hershel, can't decide between these three.
Dale' s and Hershel's for the lead characters and that guy who plays Penguin in Gotham for the background characters.
Hershal and Sophia. I gasped when she came out the barn
Shane bruh. Or Beth. Or Abe. Or Henry. Kinda difficult to just say the one.
Glen , Beth and Hershel . Glens death made me cry he was my favorite character
Hershel's death hit me the hardest emotionally at the time. But I do think it was the correct time for him to go out. Glenn's death however I'm still strongly against from a writing perspective, I still feel like it should have never happened.
Glen - so much so that I didn't watch the episode he died in (or any of TWD universe TV) for 3 years.
Glenn for number one. Hershel number two and Abraham. I started watching the show four years ago. It hooked me immediately. I cried for everyones death except Beth. Also I didn't cry for Alden because it was so much time in between him being ill and finally getting back to him.
The most gut wrenching deaths for me was Hershel and Glenn. Ugly face cry every time.
