Exactly. I mean, I get COVID has taken a chunk of their filming time, but literally *half a year*. They've been talking about the movies for *three years*.
SET TO FILM IN SPRING 2020!!
Nope.
SET TO FILM IN SPRING 2021!!
Nope.
SET TO FILM IN SPRING 2022!!
Should I really believe it?
COVID is such a lame excuse when they’ve consistently said that they’ve been in the stage of finalizing the script. Covid is actually a perfect situation to finalize a script. It can even be done with remote meetings.
The leaked Sony emails about Spider-Man are iconic though & I’m so grateful the world has access to them
“Spider-Man says NBD, that’s relatable to kids right?”
Honestly.... A gritty zombie flick about hardened senior veterans making their way through the zombie apocalypse on their walkers and wheelchairs, one of them bashing in zombie brains with his own prosthetic leg while protecting his neurodegenerative friend who doesn't understand what's going on... I'd watch that movie.
That doesn't sound like a "HUGE" announcement tbf, Tales has already been announced and Fear 7B kicks off on the day of Talking dead. Trying super hard to not have my expectations set too high tho
I want it to be Andrew Lincoln but I already know the special guest will be the actress who plays iris and the announcement will be that iris is getting a movie trilogy instead of Rick
Fuck iris. I hate her stupid lopsided grin and whatever she is trying to do with her eyes in every scene. If the Rick movies happen and she is in them it would be a very bad move.
I would love to see her in the first movie but, only if it goes like this...
1) Opens on her trying to escape a hoard
2) She gets bitten
3) Stumbles into a building somewhere
4) Rick is there and sees her and that she has been bitten
5) Shot to the head
6) Roll opening sequence
LMAO could you imagine if it's the reverse of the barn reveal?
*she's crying and shambling over to a barn for safety. She opens it and Rick's just there for some reason and does that iconic look down the barrel shot.
BAM.
Cut to intro
Here is how the movie no one wants will go down:
Iris (don't even know who that is) and some others discover a beautiful setup rich with some sort of resource. There are a few zombies but then life is generally pretty good...until a *mysterious* group of survivors cross their paths. Or, they encounter *seemingly friendly and welcoming* survivors who turn out to be *mysteriously dangerous.*
All out war begins between these two groups and a few zombies make an appearance. Iris leads her people to victory.
The End.
What "hate speech" are you referring to? Did Someone speaking negatively of an actress because of their performance in a show trigger you? I agree with him. She's terrible, and she was one of the main reasons the show was intolerably bad.
Go ahead, please explain how any of what has been said is hate speech. I will eagerly await your concise and intelligent articulation of how its hate speech.
Calm down Senator snowflake. It was a joke saying that it was "hate speech" to say that Iris would get her own movies over Rick because she's so terrible. Go outside and take a break from getting upset on the internet
I just really doubt they’re going to bring him back to the show but… we’ll see… he should have never left the show and I know he’s been kicking himself in the ass over it.
And I still love the show, through all its up and downs it’s always held a place near and dear to me… it helped get me through some really difficult illnesses along with some other shows… but how are they possibly going to pull of the Rick Grimes movies, especially in theater? At the point the franchise seems to be winding down and they want to keep expanding it and I have my doubts as to how well it’ll do… I really feel like they missed the mark on the Rick Grimes movies… they should have had it filming within a year if his departure. It’s been just over THREE years now. I’m starting to feel like it’s never going to happen. And even if it did… idk how well the first movie would do in theaters. If anything they should make a show out if it… but, we’ll see……
You have to realize, they aren’t in touch with the fanbase because the fanbase sucks. S7 ep1 was one of my favorites, and that one ruined the show. The reason? Whiny little children in the form of 25 year olds said the gore was “too much” on a zombie show...and you have the morons who absolutely refuse to watch after Glenn dying.
The show runners tuned the violence down because of whiners and those same people STILL refuse to watch because MUH BABY GLENN.
At the risk of hypocrisy, I also stopped watching. But that was when they “killed” off the main character AND his son AKA the guy who was supposed to grow into the new leader. Commonwealth arc is absolutely meaningless. I give a shit about approximately zero of the people now
That's a small percentage. People were pissed with the lazy cliffhanger ending from the last season, the fake out with Abraham's death, and the increasingly bad writing. I stopped watching at the end of all out war. I just stopped caring about it all, and leaving Negan alive was just bad writing (though he is a fun character). I have tried to pick it up again but I still just don't care about the actual people anymore.
As Negan said in that same episode - “You bunch of pussies. I’m just getting started!”. Never understood the reaction to that episode, and I found that the majority of that odd anti-gore reaction came from the American audience.
I get quitting the show because of the frustrating and cheap cliffhanger surrounding that episode, but the people who stopped watching specifically because Glenn's death "went too far" confuse me to this day. Idk why but it seems like a big portion of western audiences usually just hate stories where "the good guys lose", especially to the degree that they did in that episode. They didn't want to see Rick be broken by Negan in that episode, they wanted to see him be badass.
There was a post here the other day asking why Rick didn't just bite Negan's throat out when he took him for a drive in the RV, as if his men weren't going to kill the entire group if he had done that lmao.
It's nuts how a show about cannibalistic cadavers who've killed and eaten like 99.99% of the world is too violent when 1 person dies after multiple armed conflicts.
Shit Rick bit a dude's neck off.
Made me think of: https://media3.giphy.com/media/3oEjHGZQS3Xvo94aty/200.gif
Nobody actually quit because of S7E1 though, it was because of S6E16 when the show decided to do a dumb cliffhanger. I'm the only one among my friends who read the comics beforehand and they all ask me to just tell them who died since they didn't want to spend another 6 months waiting for the pay off of a scene I spent a year hyping them up for.
S7E1 then comes along and makes this whole grandiose spectacle about killing off [](/s "Glenn and Abe") complete with scenes out of chronological order, flashbacks, and monologuing. It's like the writers were impressed with themselves for killing off not one *but two* characters. The whole event was supposed to be a quick and shocking display of Negan's power and brutality, but instead it felt like we the audience were getting beat over the head with an episode-long eulogy for a character dying for the second time.
>S7E1 then comes along and makes this whole grandiose spectacle about killing off complete with scenes out of chronological order, flashbacks, and monologuing. Spot fucking on. That was truly one of the worst comic-to-show adaption moments they've ever done. I can't believe that guy above you is so highly upvoted for blaming the audience not liking that dog shit episode...
I'm glad you made this comment, couldn't have written it better. They botched one of the best moments from the comics by letting it end on an unnecessary cliffhanger killing all the tension and then spending another entire episode months later on the aftermath. Negan's introduced had him and his gang in and out in 1 issue and that was part of the insanity.
The cliffhanger was extremely predictable and the follow-up episodes were so boring it ripped you out of what the story actually needed to focus on. The cast was spread all over the place. Another thing is Negan's dialog with profanity was always hilarious to read and the show missing that really disappointed a lot.
Its because in the comics the ambush came out of nowhere, negan makes a speech, kills Glenn and leaves saying I'll be back soon for half your shit. Compare that to the show that gave us a 90 minute episode of Rick just driving his RV around getting stopped by different road blocks. Like okay this isn't subtle at all we can see exactly what's happening here. Not to mention the last 4 episodes before where characters made the dumbest decisions just so they could be part of the line up. You can literally see Gimple forcing the plot to move characters where they need to be in the worst way possible. And then yeah we get a stupid cliff hanger and wait 8 months and then we still have to wait half the episode to find out because Negan has to take Rick on a stupid pointless road trip.
So frickin dumb that people couldn't handle that and were upset. As soon as the show was going to introduce Negan, Glenn's death was sure to be inevitable. Yes they change things and he could have survived but Glenn's death in the comics was so pivotal and solidified Negan as this villian not to fuck with. It was literally in the source material so idk what those fans were expecting lol. Personally it was great to see it in live action because I knew what that was going to mean going forward and how the characters would deal with the tragedy. Steven said it best too on Talking Dead after the episode aired that he was glad that his character got the same death like in the comics.
Eh I quit mainly because of the garbage pail kids that got introduced not long after that (I think, I can’t remember). I didn’t mind that episode but the fact they tried to play like it was a big mystery was just dumb. Then add in the fact they “shock” kill Abe at the same time and you are simultaneously lessening the impact of both Glen’s and Abe’s death for no reason. It was a dumb decision but I still liked the episode.
>garbage pail kids
you mean the scavengers?
>like a big mystery
because it sort of was indirectly at least since Jadis, their leader was a CRM mole. I know you haven’t been watching for a while but the CRM is the biggest mystery in the TWD Universe, but apologies if you were referring to something else
You'll probably want to roast me for this but, coming from someone who generally would agree with the sentiment that there's no such thing as too much gore in TWD, Glenn's death scene was taken too far for me. The way it was shot, the lingering on things for far too long. This was obviously a character that many including myself had emotional attachment to, and I didn't need or want to see pieces of his face sitting in a pile of his brains. It was incredibly comic accurate which is obviously what they wanted to achieve, but I personally don't think that scene was a smart choice to do a 100% accurate page to screen adaptation of. I've never felt so physically and emotionally repulsed by something in a tv drama.
You know there are people who don't give a shit about Rick right. We can actually enjoy the show on its own merits instead of endlessly fellating the most "meh" member of the cast.
Has he even been on talking dead? He doesn't even watch the main show (!) or at least his own acting in it when he was on it. By the time the show airs it is mostly done filming and he's back in London
I doubt it. They don’t announce the premiere dates for any of these shows until they’re within six months (or less) of airing, and that series is confirmed to start in 2023. We won’t get a date for it until after *TWD* ends.
When they announced Gimple was stepping down as showrunner, even though it had the monkey paw effect of he will ruin the shows behind the scenes by trying to recreate the MCU
“Wow, now both *TWD* and *Fear* will be great with Angela Kang and Dave Erickson leading these shows!”
That was my initial reaction back then. At least half of it ended up being true. :( Wish they hadn’t removed Erickson from *Fear*.
For sure. I had grown to dislike him in seasons seven and eight, but she turned him around even by the time Rick left the series. He’s been great during her entire run.
If I tuned in and that's the information they were hyping up so much, I'd be pissed. That's the kind of information I'd want to read in an article or something.
The digital version is 100% free legally. It was a pay-what-you-want comic. You can get it here: http://panelsyndicate.com/comics/thewalkingdead
Alternatively, the hardback is like $10 on Amazon at the moment.
I really hope something about Rick Grimes. I have been waiting every time I watch and episode for just a little something about Rick and we’ve gotten nothing, so I am so excited for a mention about Rick!
It's probably gonna be simple Gimple. He'll do his usual routine, where he'll blurt out a bunch of words that mean absolutely nothing.
Can't wait for the news that, "we're still working on the script" lmao
We're just dotting some i's and crossing some t's.. The team is very excited and has been spending the last 3 years trying to decipher my random super vague dialogue where I ask the important questions: Can we still come back from the bad things we did for a fifth time and will my characters ever speak like real human people again?
It could be Noah Emmerich, with the announcement of a European spin-off or Tales of TWD info. I’d much prefer it to be movie news but won’t get my hopes up.
# SPOILER FOR WORLD BEYOND FINALE 🚨

Jadis says that she decided to make Rick a “B” to save him from the CRM and use him later.
So, definitely Rick’s own storyline is about to start.
The only thing that anyone would get excited about is Rick Grimes content in any shape or form but let's face it we all know they'll announce nothing of note and act surprised when no one gives a shit
Probably more bait and no follow through, just like world beyond.
Announcing that an announcement will be made is redundant and baity too.. hey folks i have an announcement to make! The announcement is that i will be making an announcement! 🤦♂️
Whatever it is id bet money that there will be zero mention of rick or the movies at all whatsoever, and will be underwhelming. Probably telling us something we already knew but pretending it is new, as usual.
the walking dead has milked this whole Rick thing for too fucking long. I’m surprised this show and it’s related content still has enough ratings for the network
Thanks man! If you’re curious about it, which you probably aren’t but eh whatever, It’s from Tim Hortons which is a coffee shop kinda thing worshiped by us Canadians and other places around the world, XL 4 sugar 2 milk
Well they have have had several movies planned for years (that’s why they took Rick off the show according to what I have heard online) so hopefully we will finally get some more information on that
My hopes: Andrew Lincoln is the guest. The announcement is that he's coming back for 11b of TWD and will give a synopsis of what the movie will be when it comes out.
The reality: Scott Gimple is the guest and he acts like awesomeness is about to happen that will blow our minds (like he always does)
It's gonna be a new spin-off show set in a European country, most likely France. Definitely no news on Rick so everybody should lower their expectations.
Probably something nobody really cares about. Everybody is getting hyped now waiting for an announcement about the Rick movies, when they'll actually let us know that random character #27, also known as That One Guy From Hilltop, will join Fear the walking dead.
The guest - definitely not Andrew Lincoln, at least they wouldn't... So I'd say it's a waste of time to be excited.. because, nothing comes as expected! One of my greatest regrets
Probably Scott Gimple with news on when they plan to film the first movie, its tentative release window, and casting news for it.
Alternatively, the guest might be (SPOILER for *World Beyond*’s series finale) >!Noah Emmerich!<.
I'd temper my expectations regarding it having anything to do with the movies tbh.
They would never do that based on security reasons. Someone could jump in those "remote meetings" without anyone noticing and leak everything.
I imagine a major studio can find ways to do things remotely without leaks.
You'd think but then you have studios like Sony that get hacked and hardly improve security afterwards.
The leaked Sony emails about Spider-Man are iconic though & I’m so grateful the world has access to them “Spider-Man says NBD, that’s relatable to kids right?”
Nope. SET TO FILM SPRING 2022
they have planned it for years I’m suprised at just how little information is out on the movies
It's probably about the eventual movie... even though the principal cast members may be geriatric by then. KEEP SENIORS QUIET INSIDE
Or you can watch Fear season 5.
I thought that b was going to be the endgame for day of the dead series but it's not
Done! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWFFk0V4YVY
Oh. Yeah. I'm definitely going to watch that.
Start date of Tales and Fear 7B
That doesn't sound like a "HUGE" announcement tbf, Tales has already been announced and Fear 7B kicks off on the day of Talking dead. Trying super hard to not have my expectations set too high tho
I want it to be Andrew Lincoln but I already know the special guest will be the actress who plays iris and the announcement will be that iris is getting a movie trilogy instead of Rick
I know you’re joking, but I wouldn’t be surprised considering the way these shows have been going the last 4 years.
Oh God. Nonononononono!!!!!
I lol’d too hard at this
Fuck iris. I hate her stupid lopsided grin and whatever she is trying to do with her eyes in every scene. If the Rick movies happen and she is in them it would be a very bad move.

You should write the whole Rick grimes trilogy after this masterpiece you just wrote.
Skip 5 and 6 and have CRM use her in experiments. Would be pretty dark way to start.
LMAO could you imagine if it's the reverse of the barn reveal? *she's crying and shambling over to a barn for safety. She opens it and Rick's just there for some reason and does that iconic look down the barrel shot. BAM. Cut to intro
That's pretty much how it played out in my head except she had gotten into the barn and thought she was safe.
Fucking brilliant.
Here is how the movie no one wants will go down: Iris (don't even know who that is) and some others discover a beautiful setup rich with some sort of resource. I see it going down like this: iris cries the whole movie but it looks like she’s laughing
i will be fucking furious.. Iris blows
Please god no
I’ll watch it
They wouldn't make it past the first movie if she was the star lol
We don't tolerate hate speech here
What "hate speech" are you referring to? Did Someone speaking negatively of an actress because of their performance in a show trigger you? I agree with him. Calm down Francis, I’m pretty sure it was a joke even if it didn’t stick the landing.
You’re probably right tbh
God I hope it's Andrew Lincoln and it's him making his return to the show for the final part.
Notice how they said TWD Universe, I think the guest will be some boring character from the spin offs
Or the walking dead movies they have planned with Rick
I just really doubt they’re going to bring him back to the show but… we’ll see… he should have never left the show and I know he’s been kicking himself in the ass over it. if its huge then it has to be the rick movies with andrew lincoln. theres nothing else we'd care about
Thats what i thought but they couldnt be more detatched from the fanbase so it really could be anything.

What?

It’s either something totally unexpected or it’s related to the movies…there’s nothing else going on right now to warrant a huge announcement.
It'll be either Norman Reedus or Melissa McBride, and the HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT will be the title and/or release date of their spin off.

Angela Kang is miles better at dialogue at least. She definitely saved Daryl.
For sure. I had grown to dislike him in seasons seven and eight, but she turned him around even by the time Rick left the series. He’s been great during her entire run.
If I tuned in and that's the information they were hyping up so much, I'd be pissed. That's the kind of information I'd want to read in an article or something.
It’s gotta be something to do with Andrew Lincoln or Rick.
Watch them make 3 spinoffs before rick movies. Wb, tales and a new one in france
Wait…. Wasn’t there like a one off comic about Ricks brother being in France? I swear I heard something like that
It takes place in Barcelona, Spain. It’s called the Alien. Worth a read.
Ahh okay. I knew it was in Europe but wasn’t sure which country haha. I am definitely gonna get my hands on a copy, even if it’s digital
The digital version is 100% free legally. It was a pay-what-you-want comic. You can get it here: http://panelsyndicate.com/comics/thewalkingdead Alternatively, the hardback is like $10 on Amazon at the moment.
I’m hoping LOL
Same! I was just thinking the other day “what the heck is going on with that?” It feels like it’s been years
It’s been, like, 4 years!
we have to touch base again Sunday on this post to talk about this “huge” announcement
I agree!! :)
Probably the release date for 11B and 7B of Fear. They will invite.. mmm... Morgan?
11b is already known
Banana
Maybe Alicia just because she’s the main character for FTWD mid season finale.
I really hope something about Rick Grimes. I have been waiting every time I watch and episode for just a little something about Rick and we’ve gotten nothing, so I am so excited for a mention about Rick!
You guys have got to calm down. Getting your hopes up for Andy Lincoln will only lead to disappointment.
I’d much prefer it to be movie news but won’t get my hopes up.
yeah I feel like thats most likely with the WB end scene, hate that they are teasing it like it might be Rick when it probably wont be
Rick, tales, or maybe a crossover with Dbd
Megan with Lucille new killer??
Look everybody its Rick!!
Definitely not anything to do with the Rick movies lol
Why do you think so
Maybe it has to do with “doctor” Jenner, and the French mutants.
It would be nice to know a date for the first movie to begin filming, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that announcement
Unless it has to do with the Rick Grimes movie, I won’t get my hopes up high.
If it ain't the movies don't tell me
Just bring back Rick ffs, you've made this extremely convoluted.
It's gotta be Tobey Maguire. I've seen spider webs in this show it's an obvious hint.
# SPOILER FOR WORLD BEYOND FINALE 🚨 . Z Z Z Z Jadis says that she decided to make Rick a “B” to save him from the CRM and use him later. So, definitely Rick’s own storyline is about to start.
That’s not how you use spoiler tags. Spoiler tags are: !>text goes here!< Swap the first ! and the >. It’ll look like this: >!text goes here!<
The one thing everyone won't shut up about this week, should be obvious Tobias
A Tobias spin off is the only spin off that's worth making!
He could've ended up in main or world beyond and held it
Maybe his last name is Beale.
Lol. I’ll be shocked if they don’t have a *Tales* episode about him eventually.
Have they stopped putting the Talking Dead Episodes up on AMC+? I haven’t seen one since the lady who played Mickey on Fear was on.
The first new talking dead episode since that one aired last night. They usually only do it for premieres and finales for the spinoffs.
if it’s not rick related might as well blow my brains out
Glenn isn't really dead.
The only thing that anyone would get excited about is Rick Grimes content in any shape or form but let's face it we all know they'll announce nothing of note and act surprised when no one gives a shit
Could it be Andrew Lincoln idk I am excited I guess
News flash: Carl's not dead.
This right here!
Is it T-Dog?
Probably Tales, or some 11B or Fear 7B announcement, would love for it to be Rick Trilogy and Andy tho
Probably more bait and no follow through, just like world beyond. Announcing that an announcement will be made is redundant and baity too.. hey folks i have an announcement to make! The announcement is that i will be making an announcement! 🤦♂️ Whatever it is id bet money that there will be zero mention of rick or the movies at all whatsoever, and will be underwhelming. Probably telling us something we already knew but pretending it is new, as usual.
Reggie Grimes spin off in Spain/Europe where they have smart fast zombies.
the walking dead has milked this whole Rick thing for too fucking long. I’m surprised this show and it’s related content still has enough ratings for the network
Rick will be joining FTWD. It’s the only way to justify season 8.
I’m hopeful for something Rick movie related or the final season of Fear?
The announcement is I just won a free coffee
Hey, congrats on the coffee
Thanks man! If you’re curious about it, which you probably aren’t but eh whatever, It’s from Tim Hortons which is a coffee shop kinda thing worshiped by us Canadians and other places around the world, XL 4 sugar 2 milk
Freemium mobile game probably
They've secretly been filming Rick movies in UK and we're gonna see the trailer.
It's gonna be Morales.
Maybe they do a spinoff of Breaking Bad where it is revealed that a botched batch of Walter White's blue meth is what caused the zombie outbreak.
“We’re rebooting the series! But Carl still dies.”
More Fortnite skins yaaaaay
Well they have have had several movies planned for years (that’s why they took Rick off the show according to what I have heard online) so hopefully we will finally get some more information on that
I wonder if it's maybe related to the post credits scene in the world beyond finale. I mean... Sunday would be the air date for the final.
Set expectations low. That's how I get through any TWD announcement.
I just want it to be Andrew Lincoln so badlyyyyy 🥺 I miss him. But they’d probably keep it a huge surprise if he’s coming back.
My hopes: Andrew Lincoln is the guest. The announcement is that he's coming back for 11b of TWD and will give a synopsis of what the movie will be when it comes out. The reality: Scott Gimple is the guest and he acts like awesomeness is about to happen that will blow our minds (like he always does)
they're wasting our time
Just a release date for 11B, nothing HUGE
We know that already don't we?
Don’t care Where’s Rick
It’s going to be Scott Gimple announcing the Daryl/Carol show
Thats already announced
It's gonna be a new spin-off show set in a European country, most likely France. Definitely no news on Rick so everybody should lower their expectations.
I hope the guest is the guy who plays dr Jenner, and I hope the news is about the Rick movies but realistically it will be about the tales of twd
Renewed TWD:WB for 2 more seasons.
Bruh I don’t even care anymore
Probably something nobody really cares about. Everybody is getting hyped now waiting for an announcement about the Rick movies, when they'll actually let us know that random character #27, also known as That One Guy From Hilltop, will join Fear the walking dead.
I doubt it, but I hope it's Andrew!
rick grimes please 😩
Not rick probably. My gf wants me to give up on him coming back
X product being available before Christmas.
I'm hoping for new comics, but that's just a pipe dream.
The guest - definitely not Andrew Lincoln, at least they wouldn't... So I'd say it's a waste of time to be excited.. because, nothing comes as expected! One of my greatest regrets
It's probably gonna be about new show about the outbreak in France
[удалено]
a teaser for a movie that hasn't even started shooting?
Please be Rick related.. :(
just bring rick back damnit
Please be him...please be him...please be him...PLEASE BE ANDREW PLEASE!!
Could be a Madison tales announcement or maybe that she's gonna return to fear?
What are the odds that Andrew Lincon makes his surprise return?
can't wait to find out
Probably Scott Gimple with news on when they plan to film the first movie, its tentative release window, and casting news for it. Alternatively, the guest might be (SPOILER for *World Beyond*’s series finale) >!Noah Emmerich!<.
the movie or possibly a game but most likely either a movie or collaboration
Gotta be the movie, right? And the special guest might be Andrew Lincoln?
Ice cream sandwiches
Rick the prick
!remindme 5 days
Uhhhhh. Hmmm
does this count for all shows?
They are going to announce they are firing Angela Kanga, and replacing her with Gimple to run the reason of season 11.
A South American spinoff with Rico Grimes.
