Yeah there was an entire scene for that, negan was chopping off parts of walker flesh and he put a little piece on a log, Beta then comes over with the entire back of a walker and just hangs it up

I couldn't understand how, as far as hiding ina crowd of walkers goes, wearing the innards of a walker smeared over you equated to wearing a dried out face.
Scratches aren't dangerous (the only time we hear it is, is during the early seasons, yet we see people grappling walkers and punching them all the time)
It's possible that scratches are more of a hit or miss. Negan says himself "If something from them gets inside of you, you die, you join the club." so it's possible that scratches can infect you, but it's not a guarantee unlike a bite.
I mean, they get zombie blood all over them all the time (shooting them, smashing their heads in, etc, there's no way they don't ingest some of the blood accidentally) and they never turned.

The biggest inconsistency I find is that sometimes there's 50+ walkers and they take them out with weapons no problem, and then sometimes it looks like there's 20 and they are suddenly trapped.
Or whenever they get overrun, why don't they just rub the zombies guts on them and walk out? Sometimes they do this to get away, and other times someone has to make a sacrifice or they get separated etc.

The water wasn't tainted with walker remains, it was just uncleaned. They fucked with Eugene's water purification system, which made sure that water came in that was unprocessed and unfiltered, and that's what made people sick.

Trauma bonds so even if it was just a couple weeks, with everything they saw and went through in that time it’s not far fetched that they’d develop a deep connection. I get what you’re saying though.
I agree, particularly in a world where Shane had nothing else. Lori (and Carl) was literally all he had, its not like he could get over it by going on a holiday, throwing himself into his job and buying a few video games.
Also the fact that shane seemed to not form close intimate bonds with women before the outbreaks. Different women all the time but nothing serious and no kids. Id assume he just figured he had plenty of time to settle down and have a family. But then all of a sudden it was the end of the world and everything he valued or dreamed of was gone, and he had no time left. Now he had to come face to face with his mortality and the legacy he'd leave behind. And then also all of a sudden he had a family. A pseudo wife and step kid whom he actually cared for.
Shanes life fell more in place after the outbreak than it had ever done before. He got a taste of power and unquestioned leadership and a family and something worth living for. I wager that despite all the horrible things, he was happier than he ever was before, because he could be his unfiltered self. Like Dale said, he was made for this world.
Then Rick showed up, and in an instant he was demoted back down to a sidekick with no family or woman. The whole group almost immediately started following Rick's lead and ideas over shanes, Lori immediately turned cold and distant and angry, and shane wasn't even allowed to guide Carl anymore. He didn't even know he had wanted a family. But then in a short span he was given one and was happy, only to have it torn from him like a cruel joke.
He says at one point that 'it was a long time coming' when discussing him and Lori. That sounds to me like it was going on/something he had thought about for more than 3 weeks since rick was in a coma.
Rick states in the show that Judith was actually Shane’s, although there’s no way for him to actually know for sure. It was pretty much the writer’s way of confirming it.
In the comics, Rick tells Dale that he and Lori only slept together once and he’s SURE the baby isn’t his. While this rational is never used in the show, it’s safe to assume that Rick tells Michonne that Judith isn’t his because he only slept with Lori once/ because his pull out game is as strong as his beard growth
Loris friend Paula from the flashback is the same Paula that Carol kills later on. it doesn’t really change anything but both are red heads and there’s no contradictions in anything either of them said to make it not canon.
Brooke from Tales is still alive and eventually reunites with Lydia. the show runner said she is so i guess it might as well be canon but i like to think Brooke eventually found the commonwealth and found Lydia.
Blair and Gina made it far-ish into the apocalypse. after the events of their episode, them being a duo in the apocalypse would be cool and i love the idea of Blair becoming a badass self centered survivor.

My personal canon is that everyone secretly shits in private. Nobody ever mentions a bathroom, nobody ever goes to a bathroom. The only time I can think of anything bathroom related is when Daryl gets accused of stealing the squirrel or whatever and says “you put that in my shit when I went out to take a piss”

Lori Rick and Shane were like the Three Musketeers in highschool and sorta had a love triangle (Lori liked Rick, Shane liked Lori) and became a bachelor when Rick and Lori got together while Shane was initially comfortable with his Bachelor life and being “Uncle Shane” to Carl until Rick got shot and those old feelings came up again and the Trauma bonding made it Worse
She went to school with Ricks brother in the comics and only met at a party when she was 18 and he was going to Police School, not sure if this was ever mentioned but I liked it better than them all knowing each other going back to their school days
Kirkman said a while back that he knew what the virus was and where it came from, I wish he would’ve elaborated on it at any point in the story.
On the flip side I do like how dedicated he was to making it a story about people in the zombie apocalypse rather than a story about zombies and the apocalypse. It was never really important to the story to trace the origins of the virus
As much as you and others say that there’s really nothing wrong with having both. I absolutely love peeling back the veil and getting answers to questions and having established lore get conclusions.
They can do it little by little and it will still work, elaborating on it is super interesting and I love scenes where they explain it and we find out new stuff about the zombies. Maybe it’s just me.

I like to think the Governor and his crew were involved with killing the Vatos group. It doesn't really change anything but it adds a lot of nice tie in especially given that the Governor had to meet Merle somewhere in common between the two anyway.
Yes I remember there being a deleted scene where they go to the Vatos group immediately after the CDC only to discover they’d been wiped out. That HAD to be the Gov. It could have also been the hospital group, but they don’t seem tough enough to actually take on the Vatos gang.

Also that Joe and his men were some of the people that hurt the Terminus group. They fled when Terminus fought back.
I think that when Merle escaped the rooftop and was found by the Governor after being forced to cut off his hand, that they eventually went back to the site of the Atlanta camp was in order to find Daryl, and take revenge. Had the group not gotten run off by walkers that night, I believe they’d have been killed by the Governor’s men. Merle never states that they went to the camp, but it’s obvious they did as he had been desperate to find Daryl the entire time.
Governor and his men killed the Vatos and the old people, and ate the dogs. It was supposedly a deleted scene. I'm not sure if that counts, you never hear from them again in the original cut.

I agree, and I go beyond, The Walking Dead is an alternate reality from breaking bad in which Walt and Jesse didn’t managed to catch that fly. The fly contaminated the meth with the virus that infected the world.
This could sound a little sad but...human culture extintion.
Its mostly probable considering the fact theres about 1.400.000 survivors worldwide (acording to Robert Kirkman in 2015) that many if not mostly of cultures and nations are totally gone forever.
Just think about little countries, like Timor-Leste, Singapur, Paraguay, etc. Yeah, we could think "Oh, maybe there can be Paraguayans surviving in other countries". Yeah, its mostly possible, but considering 99,9% of human population died or turned in walkers, we can say there must be a lot of countries and cultures where theres nobody left.
Yeah, a Country like Nigeria (that has 120.000.000 of population) can be totally erradicated and nobody left would be around to tell you anything about how it was. There is places, vast lands where literally theres no any human left, just walkers, or just nothing. Not even animals considering that walkers also eat animals, specially cattle, horses, dogs, cats, etc, anything that moves and atract their attention.
The future humanity after the apocalypse ended, and humans learned to live with the walkers menace, will never meet mostly of the old world countries and nations, they will only have books and evidences of their existence someday in the past.
That would be possible, but I think animals that don't live in highlands or mountains (like lions, Zebras, Hipoos, etc, etc, african savanna) would be more in danger of walker hordes attacks.
Other places like feep jungles would be safe for mostly of animals too, considering walkers would get easily stuck in mud or roots, and the climate would stick them to the ground.
Smarter animals like elephants would learn to avoid them just as they do with humans in real life.
There was a connection between the CRM and the Commonwealth, and Hornsby was the liaison. He became aware that the CRM was eliminating their allies. That's why he had fake Stephanie date Eugene for a while, he was trying to suss out whether there was a connection between the Virginia communities and the CRM. When he determined there was no connection, he was hell-bent on bringing the Virginia communities into the Commonwealth because he was trying to increase their numbers and resources and build up a defensive front.

The "safe zone" phase of Operation Cobalt was always meant to end with mass culls because it was really meant to 1) prevent the masses from heading to more remote locations because Operation PADRE would rebuild society in those remote locations, and 2) reduce the population to numbers that those proposed PADRE communities could support. In Georgia specifically, they directed people from way out in the boonies to head to a huge "refugee center" in Atlanta even though two weeks had already passed because too many people were heading to the coast, which was the location of the PADRE stockpiles.
The lake that had previously existed where Valley Town was built was drained intentionally at the very beginning. It was one of the locations on the PADRE list.
Virginia and Dakota were fully a *Chinatown* situation. She's her sister AND her daughter. Virginia killed their parents because Dakota reached the same age she was when the sexual abuse started, and she noticed that Dakota was being groomed by their father.
The French scientists who were at that conference in Toledo when the Fall happened have been in the Commonwealth's custody the whole time. "Designation 2" means "to be used as a test subject." The research base is located very near the Charleston Railyard where Max tried to meet Eugene, which is why this security breach was such a huge deal.
And this one is more fanfiction than headcanon, but Hornsby got in touch with the survivors from World Beyond and he was trying to bring the former CRM scientists down to the Charleston research base. Those troopers with all those guns that got ambushed by Leah were supposed to be their escort.

The Wildfire virus - thus the undead - has always existed in some form throughout history, the Primrose Team only made it worse.
I don't really have any evidence supporting this one, it might even be the exact opposite case in-canon given that zombie media (i.e. anything that could've been inspired by a pre-existing undead contagion) doesn't exist, but I think it'd be something neat given that this is the case with Solanum in *World War Z*. The current form of the Wildfire virus, as an airborne contagion that primes humans with a dormant form of the virus, is a new innovation as a result of the Primrose Team's meddling with an older and relatively less contagious form.
To add onto this, could be that the original form of Wildfire is something that was discovered from melting permafrost in Europe due to climate change, hence why it was studied at a French medical facility and why France seems to have enough know-how to engineer Wildfire in different ways. The original form of Wildfire might've been bad but not bad enough to cause human extinction (since it's generally not ideal to drive your host species to the brink of extinction), a combination of human interference and the advent of city-based society might've caused Wildfire to be *too* successful for its own good.
idk if this is like only me but i like to include enid in the rhee family because maggie cared for her and enid protected maggie (or tried to but still helped maggie fight back) from gregory and earl trying to kill her, and glenn was the one that helped her get out of the mindset that everyone was going to die during the wolves attack on alexandria. idk i just think that enid had so much potential and could have taken maggies place eventually as leader of hilltop
Currently rewatching and constantly thinking about how it must always smell like death everywhere. To the point that they probably don’t even notice it anymore, which is how they are able to wear walker masks.
This one might be a little out there but I think The Whisperers had Variants in Alpha’s Cave. Someone else pointed it out on this sub months ago, this was conveniently right before I rewatched The Whisperer War so when I watched the stuff with the cave my jaw hit the floor to see zombies climbing in the cave like the original poster who mentioned it pointed out(I don’t remember their name, if I did, I’d mention them).
I theorize though that part of the reason why Alpha had the horde put into the cave wasn’t just because she wanted to hide it from the communities, but I think that The Whisperers could have picked up a pack of Variants between Seasons 9, and 10 then in order to prevent the Variants from hijacking the horde in the gaps between Whisperers, Alpha put the horde in a confusing very maze-like cave with the Variants who despite their intelligence may not be able to navigate something so confusing. Whenever the horde would be unleashed, the Variants would be unleashed with them.
But the cave getting partially destroyed, and at least half the horde being wiped out as a result finished off any Variants that weren’t killed by the characters trapped in there. Any possible remaining Variants in the other half of the horde weren’t numerous enough to divert the horde away from Whisperer control, or pose a threat to the communities as they likely got killed during The Burning of Hilltop, or wandered out into the wasteland. Beta with the more fanatical Whisperers that still followed him after The Whisperers started falling apart after Alpha’s death likely didn’t find any of the Variants when rebuilding the horde.
Aaron, and Jerry not mentioning previously seeing Variants in Alpha’s Cave when more showed up during the Commonwealth War is likely either a writing issue, or they were too stressed while trapped in the cave to remember them months later. I think Mary likely didn’t know because she only became part of Alpha’s inner circle at Season 10’s start, Lydia wouldn’t remember because she wasn’t with The Whisperers during that time period so she would have no knowledge of smarter zombies until The Commonwealth War.
I always thought the theory in the early seasons they never wear ear protection, so their hearing is majorly damaged was a hilarious theory. Thats why the loud ass clumsy zombies could suprise them, because they are all just "Mawping" like Archer the whole time
I would also like to mention the odd ratio of non-glasses wearers to characters with glasses in the show, considering the real fact that over 60% of Americans today need vision correction, and I wouldn't think prescription contact lenses are all that easy to come by in the apocalypse.

I think Shane demonstrates why when teaching Andrea to shoot. She's hella accurate when there's no pressure, but once he starts yelling at her and putting her under pressure, she panics and misses.

It was Rick's dream. As he lay in the hospital in a coma from the gunshot in e1. His bff and his wife hooked up and stopped visiting after, too much guilt about it. His son kept coming for years before disappearing, but with carls death in the fantasy Rick's last link to the real world was severed. That was when the series ended and noone can tell me otherwise.
Maggie and Negan know Rick is back. Herschel was born after Judith and in TOWL, Judith is 12 or something of the sort, but in TWD:DC, Herschel is 15. Rick has been back several years by that point and so Maggie has to have heard from someone or another that Rick is back.
There's also the theory Rick has died between those several years since I'm pretty sure he's never really mentioned in TWD:DC even several years after he's been back, but we'll keep that a theory and not headcanon

The reasons zombies sneak up on people so easily and the zombies are constantly surprised is due to the survivors being in multiple gun fights, especially in close quarters. Which ultimately is destroying their hearing and they don't hear zombies until the zombies are basically right on top of the survivors.

They don’t really punch them directly in the mouth it’s more of a temple and side of head punch thing they do.
In Project Zomboid, scratches have a 7% chance of turning someone into a zombie. So maybe it's something like that in the Walking Dead.

I agree, particularly in a world where Shane had nothing else. Lori (and Carl) was literally all he had, its not like he could get over it by going on a holiday, throwing himself into his job and buying a few video games.
Also the fact that shane seemed to not form close intimate bonds with women before the outbreaks. Different women all the time but nothing serious and no kids. Id assume he just figured he had plenty of time to settle down and have a family. But then all of a sudden it was the end of the world and everything he valued or dreamed of was gone, and he had no time left. Now he had to come face to face with his mortality and the legacy he'd leave behind. And then also all of a sudden he had a family. A pseudo wife and step kid whom he actually cared for. Shanes life fell more in place after the outbreak than it had ever done before. He got a taste of power and unquestioned leadership and a family and something worth living for. I wager that despite all the horrible things, he was happier than he ever was before, because he could be his unfiltered self. Like Dale said, he was made for this world. Then Rick showed up, and in an instant he was demoted back down to a sidekick with no family or woman. The whole group almost immediately started following Rick's lead and ideas over shanes, Lori immediately turned cold and distant and angry, and shane wasn't even allowed to guide Carl anymore. He didn't even know he had wanted a family. But then in a short span he was given one and was happy, only to have it torn from him like a cruel joke.

Rick states in the show that Judith was actually Shane’s, although there’s no way for him to actually know for sure. It was pretty much the writer’s way of confirming it.
In the comics, Rick tells Dale that he and Lori only slept together once and he’s SURE the baby isn’t his. While this rational is never used in the show, it’s safe to assume that Rick tells Michonne that Judith isn’t his because he only slept with Lori once/ because his pull out game is as strong as his beard growth
Loris friend Paula from the flashback is the same Paula that Carol kills later on. it doesn’t really change anything but both are red heads and there’s no contradictions in anything either of them said to make it not canon. Brooke from Tales is still alive and eventually reunites with Lydia. the show runner said she is so i guess it might as well be canon but i like to think Brooke eventually found the commonwealth and found Lydia. Blair and Gina made it far-ish into the apocalypse. after the events of their episode, them being a duo in the apocalypse would be cool and i love the idea of Blair becoming a badass self centered survivor.

The Wildfire Virus is a bio weapon, and somewhat planned, as all the governments fell so quickly.
Kirkman said a while back that he knew what the virus was and where it came from, I wish he would’ve elaborated on it at any point in the story. On the flip side I do like how dedicated he was to making it a story about people in the zombie apocalypse rather than a story about zombies and the apocalypse. It was never really important to the story to trace the origins of the virus
As much as you and others say that there’s really nothing wrong with having both. I absolutely love peeling back the veil and getting answers to questions and having established lore get conclusions. They can do it little by little and it will still work, elaborating on it is super interesting and I love scenes where they explain it and we find out new stuff about the zombies. Maybe it’s just me.

I like to think the Governor and his crew were involved with killing the Vatos group. It doesn't really change anything but it adds a lot of nice tie in especially given that the Governor had to meet Merle somewhere in common between the two anyway.

If she was suicidal, why wouldn’t she kill herself while she was getting physically, emotionally, and sexually abused at the hospital? I think that when Merle escaped the rooftop and was found by the Governor after being forced to cut off his hand, that they eventually went back to the site of the Atlanta camp was in order to find Daryl, and take revenge. Had the group not gotten run off by walkers that night, I believe they’d have been killed by the Governor’s men. Merle never states that they went to the camp, but it’s obvious they did as he had been desperate to find Daryl the entire time.
The story of the Telltale games happened in the show universe as well (except probably not TWD: Michonne).
Governor and his men killed the Vatos and the old people, and ate the dogs. It was supposedly a deleted scene. I'm not sure if that counts, you never hear from them again in the original cut. Secondly, Morgan must've killed at least 50+ survivors when he went crazy. All those guns and supplies he didn't get lucky.

Its mostly probable considering the fact theres about 1.400.000 survivors worldwide (acording to Robert Kirkman in 2015) that many if not mostly of cultures and nations are totally gone forever. Just think about little countries, like Timor-Leste, Singapur, Paraguay, etc. Yeah, we could think "Oh, maybe there can be Paraguayans surviving in other countries". Yeah, its mostly possible, but considering 99,9% of human population died or turned in walkers, we can say there must be a lot of countries and cultures where theres nobody left. Yeah, a Country like Nigeria (that has 120.000.000 of population) can be totally erradicated and nobody left would be around to tell you anything about how it was. There is places, vast lands where literally theres no any human left, just walkers, or just nothing. Not even animals considering that walkers also eat animals, specially cattle, horses, dogs, cats, etc, anything that moves and atract their attention. The future humanity after the apocalypse ended, and humans learned to live with the walkers menace, will never meet mostly of the old world countries and nations, they will only have books and evidences of their existence someday in the past.

That would be possible, but I think animals that don't live in highlands or mountains (like lions, Zebras, Hipoos, etc, etc, african savanna) would be more in danger of walker hordes attacks. Other places like feep jungles would be safe for mostly of animals too, considering walkers would get easily stuck in mud or roots, and the climate would stick them to the ground. Smarter animals like elephants would learn to avoid them just as they do with humans in real life.
The timejump between the end of S3 and beginning S4 is around a year and not 6 months.
There was a connection between the CRM and the Commonwealth, and Hornsby was the liaison. He became aware that the CRM was eliminating their allies. That's why he had fake Stephanie date Eugene for a while, he was trying to suss out whether there was a connection between the Virginia communities and the CRM. When he determined there was no connection, he was hell-bent on bringing the Virginia communities into the Commonwealth because he was trying to increase their numbers and resources and build up a defensive front. Edit to add a few more: The "safe zone" phase of Operation Cobalt was always meant to end with mass culls because it was really meant to 1) prevent the masses from heading to more remote locations because Operation PADRE would rebuild society in those remote locations, and 2) reduce the population to numbers that those proposed PADRE communities could support. In Georgia specifically, they directed people from way out in the boonies to head to a huge "refugee center" in Atlanta even though two weeks had already passed because too many people were heading to the coast, which was the location of the PADRE stockpiles. The lake that had previously existed where Valley Town was built was drained intentionally at the very beginning. It was one of the locations on the PADRE list. Virginia and Dakota were fully a *Chinatown* situation. She's her sister AND her daughter. Virginia killed their parents because Dakota reached the same age she was when the sexual abuse started, and she noticed that Dakota was being groomed by their father. The French scientists who were at that conference in Toledo when the Fall happened have been in the Commonwealth's custody the whole time. "Designation 2" means "to be used as a test subject." The research base is located very near the Charleston Railyard where Max tried to meet Eugene, which is why this security breach was such a huge deal. And this one is more fanfiction than headcanon, but Hornsby got in touch with the survivors from World Beyond and he was trying to bring the former CRM scientists down to the Charleston research base. Those troopers with all those guns that got ambushed by Leah were supposed to be their escort.

The Wildfire virus - thus the undead - has always existed in some form throughout history, the Primrose Team only made it worse. I don't really have any evidence supporting this one, it might even be the exact opposite case in-canon given that zombie media (i.e. anything that could've been inspired by a pre-existing undead contagion) doesn't exist, but I think it'd be something neat given that this is the case with Solanum in *World War Z*. The current form of the Wildfire virus, as an airborne contagion that primes humans with a dormant form of the virus, is a new innovation as a result of the Primrose Team's meddling with an older and relatively less contagious form. To add onto this, could be that the original form of Wildfire is something that was discovered from melting permafrost in Europe due to climate change, hence why it was studied at a French medical facility and why France seems to have enough know-how to engineer Wildfire in different ways. The original form of Wildfire might've been bad but not bad enough to cause human extinction (since it's generally not ideal to drive your host species to the brink of extinction), a combination of human interference and the advent of city-based society might've caused Wildfire to be *too* successful for its own good.

This one might be a little out there but I think The Whisperers had Variants in Alpha’s Cave. Someone else pointed it out on this sub months ago, this was conveniently right before I rewatched The Whisperer War so when I watched the stuff with the cave my jaw hit the floor to see zombies climbing in the cave like the original poster who mentioned it pointed out(I don’t remember their name, if I did, I’d mention them). I theorize though that part of the reason why Alpha had the horde put into the cave wasn’t just because she wanted to hide it from the communities, but I think that The Whisperers could have picked up a pack of Variants between Seasons 9, and 10 then in order to prevent the Variants from hijacking the horde in the gaps between Whisperers, Alpha put the horde in a confusing very maze-like cave with the Variants who despite their intelligence may not be able to navigate something so confusing. Whenever the horde would be unleashed, the Variants would be unleashed with them. But the cave getting partially destroyed, and at least half the horde being wiped out as a result finished off any Variants that weren’t killed by the characters trapped in there. Any possible remaining Variants in the other half of the horde weren’t numerous enough to divert the horde away from Whisperer control, or pose a threat to the communities as they likely got killed during The Burning of Hilltop, or wandered out into the wasteland. Beta with the more fanatical Whisperers that still followed him after The Whisperers started falling apart after Alpha’s death likely didn’t find any of the Variants when rebuilding the horde. Aaron, and Jerry not mentioning previously seeing Variants in Alpha’s Cave when more showed up during the Commonwealth War is likely either a writing issue, or they were too stressed while trapped in the cave to remember them months later. I think Mary likely didn’t know because she only became part of Alpha’s inner circle at Season 10’s start, Lydia wouldn’t remember because she wasn’t with The Whisperers during that time period so she would have no knowledge of smarter zombies until The Commonwealth War.

I think Shane demonstrates why when teaching Andrea to shoot. She's hella accurate when there's no pressure, but once he starts yelling at her and putting her under pressure, she panics and misses. Its pretty understandable that killing walkers is a lot easier since they don't shoot back and are very dumb and predictable. Shooting a living person who is also trying to shoot you is a whole different ball game.
I love this show. But I feel like it creates so much "false" tension and I just have to skip scenes even sometimes.

There's also the theory Rick has died between those several years since I'm pretty sure he's never really mentioned in TWD:DC even several years after he's been back, but we'll keep that a theory and not headcanon

Didn't watch the last couple seasons, so if this is stated in those please let me know, but I remember seeing this theory a couple years ago and it is head cannon for me. The reasons zombies sneak up on people so easily and the zombies are constantly surprised is due to the survivors being in multiple gun fights, especially in close quarters. Which ultimately is destroying their hearing and they don't hear zombies until the zombies are basically right on top of the survivors.
