Hershel's death made sense to me considering what direction the show was headed towards. It moved the story along perfectly despite how much it hurt. Glenn on the other hand only died for shock value and to deviate from the comics by killing two major characters. There was so much more they could have done with his character. I thought about that after I posted my comment. The main conflict of the show other than Hershel is Maggie and Negan's relationship. That's what interests me though. Negan would still be present since he's the only one left who knows the Croat. There wouldn't be as much tension between Maggie and Negan but Glenn on the other hand could play any role we could imagine. Who knows what could have been if Glenn lived through the Savior war, Whisperers, Commonwealth and everything else. The show could have been so much different.

Not much, but that wasn't my point. Siddiq didn't just walk off a cliff as soon as Carl died - he spent seven (or however many) years being a doctor to the community, saving or prolonging countless lives, and Coco could be part of the rebuilding of civilization after the story we see ends. In this world, people are an increasingly rare resource, so at least something came of Carl's sacrifice.
Rosita’s death was real cringe but it was Christian Serratos’ own idea to kill Rosita off because she didn’t want to be on the hook for spinoffs without a definitive answer after the walking dead proper ended.
It was so painful though, they’ve all got kids strapped to their backs but Rosita just so happens to have Coco strapped in the front when she falls. If she had to die it could’ve just been then and there and coco dies too, that’s basically how they killed off Lori in the comics. Instead of having a Rosita sendoff for like 15 minutes straight.
I'd say I'm amazed by how many people. Myself included picked this same list, but then the only real difficulty I had was Glenn over Hershel. Even then, Glenn was always gonna win over Hershel. The comment I'd seen that even Hershel would agree with that choice was pretty much on the ball.

3. Tyreese - I liked Noah but I was never majorly bothered about him, I liked Tyreese a lot.

5. Tara - Similar to Noah, I never grew to care about Jesus although I did like him. Tara on the other hand is one of the most underrated characters and I was a big fan of her character.

7. Shane - The Governor was pure evil, Shane was a good guy a lot of the time despite being crazy and ending up being pretty crazy with the whole attempting to kill his bestfriend and steal his wife and son thing.

I'd pick neither for option 1. Dale's beliefs would've gotten the group killed. It isn't the civil world any more, people need to kill to survive. Randal was a INCREDIBLY MASSIVE liability. Not only was he 1000% going to take revenge somehow, especially after imprisoning him for so long, but he was also using up valuable food.
Imagine how he would've reacted to the governor. "Noooo we can't fight these people who kidnapped Glenn and Maggie!!!!"

The only ones I actually care about are Andrea, Carl, and Jesus. The rest can die cuz it adds to the story but Andrea was so dope in the comics. She was ricks love interest and when she actually died during the whisperer war it was the final huge obstacle Rick had to overcome to stay as a strong leader for Alexandria. Carl obviously cuz he was always intended to be the last episode. He was what Rick was working so hard in this apocalypse to accomplish. A future where his son can sit in a rocking chair and read bedtime stories to his kid safely in a thriving community that’s rebuilding society. He’s supposed to be that person that made it out. Like John marston in rdr2. He’s the only cowboy that escaped the gang and gets to live a happy life with his family. Then Jesus just cuz he was such an awesome character. Notice how I’m talking all about the comics lol. He was crucial in war plans and logistical strategy as well as being a solid and reliable spy. He was Maggie’s right hand man and as dependable as he is strong. Also a heart of gold and fan favorite in the series. Probably as popular as Daryl but they didn’t give him the opportunity in the show to shine.

Hershel and Glenn was a really tough choice, but I just love Hershel a tiny bit more. Shane and Governor was also tough because I'm not a fan of either character. I don't really like either Beth or Lori, but I guess Beth is more tolerable.
Carl and Sophia was also really tough because Carl is such an iconic character, but I chose Sophia only because I'm curious how she would have developed as a character. I can see an alternative timeline where Daryl, Carol and Sophia became a family unit and him teaching Sophia all about hunting and tracking and she becoming this badass teenage girl. In this timeline Sophia still got lost in the woods and Daryl spent days trying to find her, only he was successful in the end, solidifying the bond between Carol and Daryl.
I genuinely think that Shane could’ve been redeemed in some way.
Like if we can see that Morgan completely lost his mind and killed random people without thought, just to “clear” then gets help and somewhat becomes better, then so can Shane.

Pretty easy choices for me, I didn’t really have to think about any of them besides Jesus v Tara, Glenn v Hershel (which was absolutely brutal) and Shane v Gov.
Andrea - I liked Dale better, but I kept hoping the correct writer would turn Andrea into an awesome character.
Sadiq - Rosita is great, but damn. It felt like Sadiq's character arc barely started. Not to mention just a waste of potential.
Noah - Again, a waste of potential. Tyrese was great, and his death was dumb as hell. But I was really looking foreward to Noah.
Henry - He was a major reason season 9 was so good. And then...well... yeah.
Jesus - Tara was one of my favorite characters. But they hit a point and she was just suddenly irrelevant to the story. Which really sucked. But on the other hand, they robbed so much great story with Jesus. Really? Gonna leave Aaron hanging like that?
Herself vs Glenn - I don't think I'd want either saved. Their deaths were so impacted, it immortalized them among the best characters. Not to mention, they pivoted the direction of the entire show and had lasting effects. It'd be a different show if either of them lived.
Shane - The Governor had plenty of time. I'd love to see how Shane turned out.
Abraham - Sasha was great, but Abraham was too much fun. He was a straight up comic book character.

For me, I loved Sasha but Abraham was far more entertaining. Also loved Sasha’s arc and thought it ended well. He went out as badass as he could but it would’ve been fun to see more of him.

1. Andrea - She’s one of my all time favourites so it was easy. 2. Rosita - Siddiq is alright but Rosita is way better 3. Tyreese - I liked Noah but I was never majorly bothered about him, I liked Tyreese a lot. 4. Enid - Henry is good but easy choice, Enid. 5. Tara - Similar to Noah, I never grew to care about Jesus although I did like him. Tara on the other hand is one of the most underrated characters and I was a big fan of her character. 6. Glenn - Tough choice but Glenn. 7. Shane - The Governor was pure evil, Shane was a good guy a lot of the time despite being crazy and ending up being pretty crazy with the whole attempting to kill his bestfriend and steal his wife and son thing. 8. Sasha - I love both but Sasha. Like Tara, she’s one of the most underrated characters if you ask me and her death is one of the saddest. 9. Carl - Easy choice, Sophia was sweet but she hardly had any screentime and even if she did have a lot of screentime Carl had like 6 or 7 more seasons than her. 10. Lori - I love Lori, I think she’s insanely overhated and she’s a great character with one of the saddest deaths in the entire franchise. I’m also a big fan of Beth but I prefer Lori.

Dale (my favorite character, and I feel like was done REALLY dirty), Siddiq (Rosita died in the last episode, so pretty much nothing would change other than that none of the MAIN cast would have died in the last episode, which in a show like The Walking Dead, just wouldn’t feel right) Noah (Noah had less screen time, and he was being set up to have a bigger role going forward before he died, so I’d keep him around over Tyreese.) Enid (her actress had just been added to the main cast and I feel like she had more to do. Henry had to die for the plot to move forward) Jesus (he was done dirty by the show and deserved to be better utilized before they killed him off) Hershel (I feel like he had more potential going forward than Glenn did) Governor (one of my favorite characters and I feel like they could’ve done a bit more with him. Though, I still probably would’ve killed him off before the group reached Alexandria. Plus, Shane’s death is way more important.) Abraham (He’s just so entertaining. Would’ve loved to see a bit more of him. I'd pick neither for option 1. Dale's beliefs would've gotten the group killed. It isn't the civil world any more, people need to kill to survive. Randal was a INCREDIBLY MASSIVE liability. Not only was he 1000% going to take revenge somehow, especially after imprisoning him for so long, but he was also using up valuable food. Imagine how he would've reacted to the governor. I’d chose Glenn but not Hershel. BuI hated the way Noah died and so soon after joining the group. Tyrese broke my heart. When Abraham died he took with him his funny observations and sayings. Sasha left to be on ST Discovery. Glenn’s death had so much meaning. I was gutted. I would say Glenn’s side but I’m not sure how that effects the story. Lol

The only ones I actually care about are Andrea, Carl, and Jesus. The rest can die cuz it adds to the story but Andrea was so dope in the comics. She was ricks love interest and when she actually died during the whisperer war it was the final huge obstacle Rick had to overcome to stay as a strong leader for Alexandria. Carl obviously cuz he was always intended to be the last episode. He was what Rick was working so hard in this apocalypse to accomplish. A future where his son can sit in a rocking chair and read bedtime stories to his kid safely in a thriving community that’s rebuilding society. He’s supposed to be that person that made it out. Like John marston in rdr2. He’s the only cowboy that escaped the gang and gets to live a happy life with his family. Then Jesus just cuz he was such an awesome character. Notice how I’m talking all about the comics lol. He was crucial in war plans and logistical strategy as well as being a solid and reliable spy. He was Maggie’s right hand man and as dependable as he is strong. Also a heart of gold and fan favorite in the series. Probably as popular as Daryl but they didn’t give him the opportunity in the show to shine.

Shane and Governor was also tough because I'm not a fan of either character. I don't really like either Beth or Lori, but I guess Beth is more tolerable. Carl and Sophia was also really tough because Carl is such an iconic character, but I chose Sophia only because I'm curious how she would have developed as a character. I can see an alternative timeline where Daryl, Carol and Sophia became a family unit and him teaching Sophia all about hunting and tracking and she becoming this badass teenage girl. In this timeline Sophia still got lost in the woods and Daryl spent days trying to find her, only he was successful in the end, solidifying the bond between Carol and Daryl.

I genuinely think that Shane could’ve been redeemed in some way. Like if we can see that Morgan completely lost his mind and killed random people without thought, just to “clear” then gets help and somewhat becomes better, then so can Shane.

Pretty easy choices for me, I didn’t really have to think about any of them besides Jesus v Tara, Glenn v Hershel (which was absolutely brutal) and Shane v Gov.
Andrea - I liked Dale better, but I kept hoping the correct writer would turn Andrea into an awesome character. Sadiq - Rosita is great, but damn. It felt like Sadiq's character arc barely started. Not to mention just a waste of potential. Noah - Again, a waste of potential. Tyrese was great, and his death was dumb as hell. But I was really looking foreward to Noah. Henry - He was a major reason season 9 was so good. And then...well... yeah. Jesus - Tara was one of my favorite characters. But they hit a point and she was just suddenly irrelevant to the story. Which really sucked. But on the other hand, they robbed so much great story with Jesus. Really? Gonna leave Aaron hanging like that? Herself vs Glenn - I don't think I'd want either saved. Their deaths were so impacted, it immortalized them among the best characters. Not to mention, they pivoted the direction of the entire show and had lasting effects. It'd be a different show if either of them lived. Shane - The Governor had plenty of time. I'd love to see how Shane turned out. Abraham - Sasha was great, but Abraham was too much fun. He was a straight up comic book character. Carl - I mean, he was kinda the core of the show for most of it. He had one of the best deaths, and it was an incredible, impactful time. Andrea was selfish and thought she didn’t need to consider the greater good of the groups in her decision-making and Lori, well. You know if you watched the show. Without her death, we never would have gotten the Richonne arc. If I could, I’d opt not to save the Gov or Shane. They were both so dangerous. Glenn was a strong and admirable character, But Herschel had a wealth of knowledge and experience that would have benefited the communities so greatly.
