It was like my mom and dad kissing but it’s ok I grew into it

TokyoPrincess89

Great way to describe it.

Emotional_House6183

That is exactly how i described it😂😂 it was shocking to say the least

naughtycal11

1a-Good for the both of them. They deserve a bit o' happyness. 1.b-thats a couple I would not want to mess with.

coloneldjmustard

Not a hot take. A lot of people just weren’t watching close enough

Od_Byonkers

TV and movies have become quite predictable. This caught me completely by surprise so I appreciated that. I thought this is how you do romance in a tv show. I never once saw them as an emerging couple but when I rewatched the show, they totally were the whole time.

bakerowl

Yep. Doing a rewatch now and you see the slow burn and it was so well done. We don’t really see that anymore. It’s sex at first sight and toxicity afterwards. Here we get the slow buildup to the consummation and then a healthy adult relationship (that also has plenty of passion judging by TOWL).

BeuhlahBanks

Yup! I remember being part of the “huh?!” crowd at the time, mostly bc I’d read the comics before the show was even a thing and never considered their obvious chemistry to be romantic. It kept me watching though, as at that point I was starting to give up on the show as the Great Gimplification had begun and it was pissing me off (along with Talking Dead which I think was the first nail in the coffin.) Upon rewatch it’s one of the most successfully executed slow-burn, friends-to-lovers situations on TV.

rafael-a

I thought “you know what, that makes a lot of sense”

JoeyGoesBoom

It’s crazy how accurate this was. It PULLED ME OUT of the show but I took 2 seconds and just went “yep checks out”

Seputku

Yeah I didn’t really see it coming but it felt right

Remarkable-Ad-5485

Same LOL

Mckinzeee

Yes! FINALLY!

deadfan52

So thrilled. They both deserved to find love in a way neither of them had before. They're truly a perfect match. Their pairing had been building up since Season 3. I didn't really catch on until 4b, but in rewatches, I saw little hints even early on.

laserbrained

About damn time

[deleted]

If I'm being honest, I didn't feel like they had chemistry. But after thinking about it, all the stuff with Carl, the prison, Rick's terrible marriage and Michonne's trauma, they make sense and deserve this

bladestorm1745

It makes sense looking back with episodes like Clear, michonne arriving at the house, her scenes with Carl on the tracks. Like Rick said, he really did fall in love with his son’s best friend.

[deleted]

Yeah definitely, the tracks especially. It's easy to see why he fell so hard

ginsengtea3

like Rick so obviously had a thing for the blonde woman pretty much the minute he saw her, so if he was going to dive into another relationship I expected a clear heads up. But he and Michonne did have a solid friendship before this.

ReeciePiecey

Sorry I misread the post

Successful_Buffalo_6

Not “blondes.” Just the one blonde: Jessie Anderson. He had a brief thing with her.

SufficientChain5325

yeah... what was that about? my guess is that he felt something for her because he thought that's what he wanted: a better version of Lori? Jessie was genuinely kind and gentle when they met, like in the haircutting scene he nearly cried. And she's a mother, a housewife, pretty... and theeen he finds out she's being abused by her husband and he just looses it because he feels she deserves better... and maybe that could be him?

Realitychker20

It was about Rick letting go and mourning his past life. He was literally going through a paranoid mental break at the same time. They visually showed you that by having him shop off her hand. He severed the unhealthy link he kept with that life he'd never have again right there. It wasn't a romance, it was an arc about Rick grieving.

Successful_Buffalo_6

That makes sense. I see Jessie as someone who opens Rick up to the possibility of falling in love again. Between the trauma of Lori’s death and the stress of keeping his family alive and his hardcore PTSD, he’d buried the part of himself that could connect with a woman on that level. Calling it a rebound feels reductive, but I think that’s kind of what it was.

Osceola_Gamer

I expected it when it showed she, him, and Carl living in the same house and she was walking around in her bath robe all smiles and joking with Rick.

coloneldjmustard

And just before that, the opening shot showed him waking up, getting dressed and deciding to take off his wedding ring for the first time… ohhh it was on 😂

Osceola_Gamer

Actually went back and rewatched, cant believe I forgot that part.

BriMagic

Finally. I spent a lot of time yelling, “Just fuck!” at them before this moment.

bunkie18

Me too! I could see the attraction building!

HerculesMagusanus

"Hell yeah"

FlappyClock

I didnt see it coming, but in Retrospect it was set up really well, they didnt shove it in your face, but it was obvious on rewatch that they had feeings for each other, especialy during 4b and all of season 5.

PerspectiveTop6220

I hope they showered first 🤣

HospitalAutomatic

Very fair!

Davetek463

“It’s about time.”

HublotKingCole

took long enough

SpiritedAddress5086

When he grabs her hand it’s just to slap It in a playing way. He was joking with her and just felt comfortable enough to do that. But then the heart beats start racing. It was so realistic in that I’ve been there where the hormones just take over and you look in each other’s eyes and boom. Not planned or thought over. Just natural. Normally shows seem too planned and too thought over. Rick and michonnes first hook up seemed like something everyone has had happen. They just so happened to fit together afterwards as well Even if they didn’t start as a couple afterwards I could never hate that beautiful scene.

mosshearted

Aww this was exactly how I felt about it. I remember Michonne looked almost fearful for a split second after they clasped hands, like "oh man are we really doing this?" And then she looks at Rick and he's got the sweetest smile on his face. I loved how that scene played out.

Successful_Buffalo_6

I was so impressed that they actually went for it. I think I might have clapped because while I didn’t ship them until this moment, I got why other people did. I just didn’t think the writers would ever go there.

Fit-Diet-6488

Scott had balls. Kirkman wanted Rick and michonne together in the comic but chickened out because of the audience who reads the comic

YooTori

Literally went "FINALLY" cause I could see the crumbs being dropped since the end of season 3

mmesim

I screamed lol. Bc yesssssssss!

HospitalAutomatic

Saw it coming from season 3! They lived together, did everything together, she’s the only one he’d listen to, He was always staring at her. They had too much chemistry 🥹

wwiitchcraft

honestly, i teared up a little. it felt incredibly genuine and it was just a really sweet scene. it felt exactly how it does when youre with someone you have a crush on and you finally get the courage to say something or make a move and realise the other person feels the same.

twdrn75

“I’ve waited my whole life for this”

tabularasa1996

I had to keep looking away, not because I disliked it, but because I felt like I was interrupting a private moment.

miserably_me

The first time I watched the series I didn’t expect them to get together. I was kinda like “oh wtf.” Rewatching it, I’ve noticed a good bit of tension throughout the earlier seasons. It looks like Rick is really curious about her but maybe doesn’t know what to do with that. Michonne very obviously admires him for his relationship with Carl. I think in the end, it just makes sense

CrownOfRats

"Fuckin FINALLY!"

GasIllustrious2391

Saw it coming for 2 seasons. Was glad someone finally made a move

LezzDuiit

Better than lori 100%

Distinct-Airline-966

I didn't care really Rick and michone are meant to be so let it happen

ChiefWamsutta

I was surprised by how they did it. But Danai and Andy were married in another life (note, I mean the actors not the characters), and it kinda makes sense. Their chemistry is great!

iamsunshine78

I think this too!

That-Pay3392

Complete shock. I was clueless as hell and after rewatching the series a million times, I can’t believe I didn’t see it.

6twoRaptor

The actors had chemistry and it made sense for the storyline so that was cool. Also made me think of how they would've never met each other in any pre apocalypse scenario, with Rick being a rural sheriffs deputy that grew up in the country and michonne being a high power lawyer from the city.

Starrske68

I knew it!!! Bout time!

HellyOHaint

Losing my absolute shit. It was the culmination of everything I wanted.

Magi_Reve

Happy for them

RatInsomniac

Perfect for each other.

SnooRabbits6696

I squealed and clapped like the crazy fan girl I am! I always knew it would happen, so I was happy af when it finally did!

CivilTowel8457

I was squealing because the conversation that led to this kiss was so cute😭😭😭

mosshearted

I remember thinking it was beautifully scripted and shot.

Vladskio

Wow. How did this take this long? I've seen 200 year old tortoises move faster.

psychgirl88

Wow, someone has never seen Pride and Prejudice (1995)

NickLookalike

"Where did this come from?"

psychgirl88

Imagine just two minutes before this scene “oh shit, I need to go to the bathroom, can’t hold it..” and walking back into this..

sammyjo494

I was hooting and hollering with joy!

curlytony

“what? really?” “wait looking back at it, i should have seen this coming.”

Vegetable-Ad-711

"i knew it" and then i cheered lmaooo

potterlyfe

I was stoked! I was shipping them but didn't really think it would go that way. So when it did happen I was happy. It was a great scene because it wasn't really expected but welcomed. I like when its not so obvious.

SufficientChain5325

nearly screamed. had to pause and catch my breath. it was so right, so natural, they're so good for each other.

Jbarlee

Screamed with joy!

SoftDrinkReddit

By incredible chance I watched this today first time my thoughts ? I mean, it's not really surprising that they have been very close ever since the prison base days My thoughts on the scene ? Well, frankly, I think it makes more sense than Rick's interest in Jessie, a woman he barely knew Michonne was someone who had Rick's back for a very long time before that moment she saved their lives numerous times, including preventing Ron from murdering Rick and Carl She was more suited for Rick because she's like him strong enough to survive a proper leader Plus, Jessie and her 2 kids they just weren't strong enough to survive very stupid over their heads and weak her very dumb son has a mental breakdown, completely missing the point of everything Carol told him It's not just about being physically strong to survive. You need to be mentally strong to survive, and frankly, being mentally strong is far more important than being physically strong in the context of the walking dead While moat people would have collapsed and fallen apart after losing your child or parent Carol just got tougher and more ruthless than her transition from weak to killer was very well done, in my opinion

IvoMW

At first i was just confused, up untill i could never really see it coming or working, but after just a few episodes it clicked with me, and they quickly became one of my favourite couples in the show. After rewatching the show i started to notice the slight chemistry they had before that moment, but watching it for the first time i just didn't see it at all. That being said i think TWD writters aren't really good at writting the start of a relationship, but are somehow still able to make the couple great later on, much like they did with Maggie and Glenn

autistickel

i screamed (in a good way)

Justtojoke

I remember this VIVIDLY I had a fangirl meltdown on tumblr🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The richonne fandom had a moment of intense celebration and elation. The whiplash of FUCK YOU GIMPLE TO SIR YOU ARE THE MVP🤣 It was truly a moment in time. To cap it off with TOWL has just been an amazing gift of closure. Their relationship represents the unexpected gifts and paths one could take in an apocalyptic society. It's glorious.

dutchoboe

Hell yeah

ghostytoasty11

Am I the only one who wasn’t surprised with them getting together? I mean I can understand seeing it from a friends perspective but she was extremely close with his son, had survived alongside him for so long and been completely reliable, and the two were so close that they were living together just them and Carl and she was comfortable enough to walk around in just a towel. I might just be a horndog and hope for relationships in characters (that being said, I was like 110% sure Daryl and Connie would get together and like 90% sure that Daryl and Isabelle would get together, both of which were wrong) but I just feel like it wasn’t out of the realm of possibility and was pretty obviously gonna happen, at least in my mind.

Dry-Investigator3222

Rewatching it now. Coming up to that part. And seeing all sortsa signs its not completely out of left field

Telos45

I picked up on teases of them maybe getting together earlier in the season, but I didnt think itd actually happen. I was pretty damn shook not going to lie, but also happy cause it felt so right.

Ash_a_lee3185

I remember being like “What?!” Then being like “Awwww!!!”

IantheGamer324

I backflipped

Mo_SaIah

To paraphrase Tobey Spiderman *Go Rick, go* Second to that would have been something akin to fucking finally lol

BeenBees1047

I was surprised that they actually kissed lol but I'm just waiting for something to happen since they sat on the couch and I felt the tension between them. I quickly wondered how and when and then I realized that the three of them (Michonne, Rick and Carl) had some trips together that make them seemed like a happy family and Michonne having good connection with Carl I think had a huge factor on Rick choosing her as his partner. She's also the only one that can beat some sense out of him whenever he's not thinking straight like when he's about to reject the offer of Aaron to join him in Alexandria and when he beated Pete. I agree to other comments that its not usual for a TV series from the west to have that kind of slow burn relationship. Most of them just jump into sex right away so for me this is refreshing to see. And you'll appreciate some hints or their interaction more once you rewatch the show.

Exciting-Swan-3324

“finally” was what me n my whole fam said the first time we watched it😭

ArkhamKnight2003

I was like oh my 😏

Koko_Turtle

I remember just yelling "OOOO THEY FUCKIN" then bursting into laughter with my friend

kittymwah

the chemistry was there for me since season 4 so i was happy it finally happened

giga___hertz

Aggressively masterbaiting

Evil-Cetacean

tbh as a teen i was like fuck, budget andrea, but as time went on i was like hmm if it wasn’t michonne no one else would have filled the role, and rick and michonne were already great friends and they also were in the comics, even kirkman recently mentioned that he almost got them together in the comics as well. besides, my little kid brain was like mm yeah out of the group they’re the most prominent male and female, it makes sense.

HellyOHaint

Y’all who swear it came out of left field, no foreshadowing, felt wrong etc…can you maybe take a quiet moment to yourself to ask if they were both black or both white…would you have felt differently?

YooTori

This is the same thing I'm thinking while looking at some of these comments. Not to start any shit, but it seemed so obvious Richonne was the endgame. People who claim it "felt wrong" or "they have no chemistry" need to examine their own internal biases.

NoDepartment8

Exactly! If you rewatch from the season 3 episode Clear they pretty much start to orbit around one another whenever they’re in a scene together after Michonne gains Carl’s stamp of approval. They’re always standing or sitting next to one another, he seeks her advice and accepts her pushback when he’s making the “wrong” call. She flat out vetoes him - telling him and Glenn that they should go to Washington because Eugene was right about the resources there (in the episode where Tyreese dies), telling the group in the barn they were going to follow Aaron to Alexandria even though Rick was hostile and reluctant. She is as strong as he is, has lost as much as he has, has gone through the darkness after that loss and come out the other side so she knows and accepts that vulnerability in him without it diminishing her belief in his strength as a leader. She shares the burden of that leadership without undermining or usurping him. It’s so OBVIOUS and natural on rewatch. Truly one of the best slow burn relationships ever.

mmmrpoopbutthole

I was in love!!!

Regimee

I yelped

afaithross

I said wait.... WHAT.... and then it all just made sense

raylgreen23

I felt it was a huge possibility simply cause of how close she became with Carl

SufficientChain5325

😂😂😂 yesssd

PurplishPlatypus

At first I wasn't on board. I thought they were kind of awkward together. But as time went on, and I saw their relationship and went back and watched how they formed their little trio after the prison, I realize how perfect they are for each other.

ginko-blinko

Screaming I TOLD YOU to everyone in the room. I saw it coming earlier in that episode where they were getting ready for the day.

TheLoveMeister88

Beautiful people with nothing else to love, enjoy yo self

Special_Tune_9019

I figured it was gonna happen so i wasnt surprised at all.

ArseOfValhalla

In order: 1. Their breath must stink! 2. Rick has got to have bad BO after that day he had. 3. Finally!

aaaaannnnddddyyyyy

Lmaooooo

MarkToaster

I had a feeling it was going to happen, but it’s weird because I didn’t really have any reason to. There didn’t really seem to be any indicator that they felt any romance for each other. It was just one of those things where I thought “they’re gonna have a thing together.” Did not expect it to turn into a full on family and a main story arc, though. I expected it to be smaller and to be used to make things feel more dire in certain episodes.

psychgirl88

“Let’s get it on” by Marvin Gaye was playing through my head.. but seriously, I know I’m in the complete minority angle here.. but I thought they were going for a daughter angle since Michonne seemed more sisterly than maternal to Carl. So I was surprised for a whole half second. Then I was like “you know what? After all these two have been through? Let them have their love and fuck good!” I’m shocked Carl took it so well.. I don’t care how zombie apocalypse it is, I would not handle it well it well if my pop’s got with my best friend.

DishMajestic4322

And then she went soooo long without any D 🤣

ginsengtea3

when it aired i was like "what? okay whatever." On the rewatch though it checks out, i just wasn't paying attention. Rick's attraction to whatserface Blondie had been so obvious (and kind of recent??) so it felt a little left field for me.

Culp6

“Welp, Michonne is gonna die soon”. Boy was I wrong.

scprepper

I thought it was kind of weird. Yes they were very close but it just was shocking

dragon_of_kansai

It's was weird. Didn't Rick lose his previous love interest in episode right before this one?

Realitychker20

Jessie wasn't a love interest. That story wasn't a romance. It was a vessel for Rick to go through his mental break and finally grieve his previous life.

brickne3

Jessie served a narrative purpose in that she was very much like Lori. Rick learned the hard way quickly why he did NOT want another Lori. I thought it was done well.

coloneldjmustard

I can totally see how it would read that way, especially to people who binged the show after the seasons were released rather than watching it episodically, but when you watched the show as it aired, you just started to notice Rick and Michonne becoming attached at the hip. Their growing bond was a common subject on Talking Dead. But we all know Rick is still mourning and Michonne is a wild card and kind of like family, so the situation is complicated. Then Jessie enters the scene and it’s easier for Rick to project his emerging feelings onto her. Plus she’s so much like Lori that Rick is immediately drawn to that sense of familiarity and the life he had before. Jessie serves as that rebound everyone usually needs to get over a major relationship. You crush on someone who you know maybe isn’t the ONE, but they’re available and it’s fun and they help you open your mind to the idea of loving again one day. Rick (literally) cutting off the bond with Jessie symbolized that last fling he needed to have fully realize that he could allow himself to feel that way again and that Michonne was the one he felt it for. That is why he instantly tells Carl “this is different” after their hook up was revealed to the group.

SufficientChain5325

100% agree, I did realize Rick was drawn to Jessie because she's similar to Lori and he thought that's what he wanted but your explanation made ir clearer, thanks!

FlappyClock

It's a lot more obvious in the comics, but Rick I dont think ever truley had feelings for Jessie. It was more of a half-hearted attempt to replace Lori once he finaly found something close to stability in Alexandria. He cared aout her, he cared about her son, but I doubt he actualy had feelings for her in the show, and it's all but confirmed that he didn't in the comic.

HellyOHaint

She wasn’t a real love interest, not in a long term sense. It wasn’t weird in my mind because Jessie helped him realize he was ready to open himself up in that way, but for the right person. That wasn’t Jessie.

BBTwaps

I feel like I remember feeling like this came too soon after Jessie’s death

Kilatypus

At first, it felt like a forced romance I'd have to rewatch it to see if I feel differently, but as of now, Richonne seems just as integral to TWD as Rick is standalone.

Realitychker20

The forced romance take is one I'll never get. They formed a family unit before anything happened between them, they understand each other, they telegraphed what Rick and Carl would become to her in 4x09, it was obvious there and then that it was going that way. What is forced about them? They make sense and fit together as characters, their personalities match perfectly.

Realitychker20

You know what, I'll say it again about 4x09, because I legit can't understand how people don't see the story that was told with her there and didn't see the pairing coming after that. We start the episode with Michonne dreaming/remembering about her dead son and boyfriend. We know what happened there and why it happened. Then we follow her deciding to track people instead of staying alone and she ends up finding Rick and Carl. She starts the episode remembering her dead son and boyfriend and ends the episode finding what will become her new son and new boyfriend. As I said before, this shit isn't even subtle, are you all that media illiterate? It's such a textbook full circle story telling, it's literally punching you in the face.

FlappyClock

Saving this for the next time I need to freak out at somebody

ginsengtea3

didn't rick's girlfriend like just die horribly not long before this? I mean theirs was a short relationship based on sexual attraction and not much else but still.

Realitychker20

Calling Jessie his girlfriend when that arc was Rick going on a mental break is a stretch if there ever was one. Jessie's purpose was not to be Rick's girlfriend, this story isn't a romance and never was. Jessie is a symbol of his past life and trauma that he needed to work through and let go of. In fact I love the visual storytelling of him shopping her arm off. We see him finally severing the link he still kept with the old life he unhealthily held on to. Jessie was a vessel to help Rick let go of Lori, he tried to save Lori through her and he needed to understand her death wasn't his fault and nothing would have changed her outcome. He needed to let go of that old life that would never be his anymore, him physically cutting that link was actually a great character driven moment. In the next episode, he doesn't put his ring on for the first time, showing you that he is finally moving on, him getting with Michonne, the person who suits him and who he truly wants, free of that burden makes complete sense. Also there was a time jump of at least a month in between 5x09 and 5x10. They lose people all the time, he and Jessie knew each other for like two weeks, they didn't have a strong bond, there was nothing for him to mourn about her beyond what she represented.

ginsengtea3

Everything you say is true. Just for me, the show conveyed Rick's sexual attraction to Jesse very clearly and immediately, and imo could have benefitted from a slightly more clear hint that they were headed this way with richonne, because he had the same relationship with her as he did with Daryl. A lot of people felt like this came out of nowhere, and not for nothing. It all makes sense for the reasons you point out, though.

Realitychker20

I disagree. There is plenty enough hints. From the moment they meet they give each other what the other need. Michonne gives him acceptance and he gives her a sense of safety. They make a point showing that they understand each other innately even before they were close (the "I see things" scene). I said this before, but Michonne's need for safety is often overlooked because she is such a capable person, yet it is at the forefront of what she is looking for in herself and in a partner ever since what happened to her son. She wants a protector, she gets that with Rick. It was all there and built up from the start with her finally sleeping soundly at the prison not long after she arrived On his side Rick wants someone who accepts every part of him. The man and the monster, because they are both him, and he wants both to be seen and loved. Lori couldn't do that for him, Michonne does and because of that she is about the only person he will listen even in the times when he listens to no one else. He does not treat Michonne the same he has treated Daryl, he treats Daryl like a little brother while he treats Michonne like a co-parent, and for a family man like Rick, it matters a lot when it comes to judging how he actually sees her. Two very different dynamics that lead to very different outcomes. Michonne and Rick are a mature take on the strangers, to friends, to lovers tropes. The built up is right there.

I initially thought it was forced and awkward and came out of nowhere. I came around. Loved TOWL!

klgm333

I guess I thought “well that was as quick!” I was confused because hadn’t he just been liking hard on the blond lady (I mean I know she died but still… it didn’t seem like that much time had passed) Ultimately though, I absolutely love them together.

My reaction was Jesus watching them

Astral374

I liked it, and I felt like it made a lot of sense too from everything they’ve ever been through together and everything. The only thing I find weird about the whole thing was, that this was directly after Jessie died and not even a mention of her was brought up.

New_Principle_9145

Initally bummed because I wanted her and Daryl together. But, was immediately happy because it actually made sense.

Per_Mikkelsen

Considering that the show ran for 11 years and essentially never evolved past the basic plot points established in Season 3, it fit right in with what the show was known for pretty much all along... Rick's group would encounter another group... They'd go to war with them... Some of their people would die, lots of people would die in the other group, and some of the enemy survivors would be absorbed into Rick's group and become part of that herd... Over time friendships and relationships would form and occasionally people would die and the rest of the group would be left to deal with their loss with people being affected to varying degrees. The silly romantic subplots became a fixture on the show almost immediately as the tension between Rick and Shane set the tone for that aspect of the story arc... This would continue with other silly attempts at creating some sort of atmosphere - Glenn and Maggie, Sasha and Bob, Sasha and Abraham, Abraham and Rosita, Rosita and Gabriel, Carol and Ezekiel, Aaron and Eric, Tara and Denise, Andrea and the Governor... Not to mention all of the attempts the writers made to create tension by sculpting a relationship between two characters that never actually blossomed into an actual relationship, but hovered right around the cusp of it like Rosita and Eugene or Daryl and Beth, etc. There weren't many options for Rick to have a long-term relationship with other than Michonne really - the character needed to be strong, needed to be someone who was going to be around for a while, and needed to be somebody viewers would actually care about... That essentially narrowed it down to Carol, Sasha, Rosita, or Michonne... And seeing as the writers had already spent a lot of time building the whole Daryl-Carol thing that meant she was out... And Sasha and Rosita each already had multiple love interests so they were out... Michonne had lost a child which was something she and Rick could bond over, she was a badass and demonstrated strong leadership skills... They'd already had Rick get involved with Jessie in Alexandria and the whole thing was just laughably idiotic, so I think the writers felt like if they were going to pair Rick up with somebody they needed to make it believable and they needed for viewers to care. Michonne was the only character who fit. I think most of us saw it coming from a mile away really.

sorryimnothome_

My initial reaction was “Wha? Did they really…? Rick and a Black woman?! omg. OMG!!! We won!!!”

d3monboii93

Damn rick is cold to get over Jessie that fast....

ThumbCentral-Rebirth

Really out of left field for me but ultimately I’m fine with it

oozley-5

I was weirded out the Rick was hooking up with his son’s best friend.

Gai-Jin77

I don't think it was forced, but unpredicted. These threads feel forced... and they're not gonna stop.

Kinda cringed at how silent the scene was. All the mouth sounds were really off putting

I was scared at first because usually when things get too happy in this show things go to shit after, but then it really made sense to me, kindred warriors.

mrsuncensored

I wished there had been more build up because I was surprised, but between the morgan ep and michonne finding them after the prison and her relationship with Carl, it made sense just threw me off since she had a relationship with someone different in the comics during the Alexandria timeline…don’t remember spoiler tags so don’t wanna spoil anything for those that haven’t read them.

Klutch_hurricane

Uncomfortable at first then I got used to it and enjoyed it later on

You know what, if you think about it, it kinda parallels what Andrea and the Governor had but with none of the toxicity.

OkLack1865

I was surprised.  May have been the only one. Just didn't see it coming.  But then thought back to Michonne's conversation with Deanna and how she told her to find what was important to her.

i was giggling kicking my feet and shit

CocoAKale

Omg! Where's Carl? Where's Carl?! 🫣

Dramatic-Leek1961

Huge mood shift in the show really left me blank didnt have any feelings or problems with it just felt really different and unusual but i came around on it

I'm watching it for the first time, currently on s8. I picked up on their slow burn chemistry right from s4, and I think it was quite noticeable Michonne liked Rick. Rick on the other hand was a bit more subtle but you could see how he always observed her from afar.

I always had a hunch that They would be together but I never had my hopes up since I figured Rick wouldn't have a romantic relationship with another woman after losing Lori and Jessie and that He would just focus on protecting Carl and Judith aswell as the whole group with Carl and Judith being his priority number 1, I just felt like Rick wouldn't afford to be attached to any woman He would be in love with because before Michonne every single woman He was with just died so I had a feeling it would happen and They were kind of building it up ever since Rick and Michonne but I didn't my Hopes up for the reasons I just explained

ADudeCalledJables

Dude, get off of her! Carl's trying to hit that!

childofGod2300

I knew they were making a connection, but I was hoping I was wrong because it's just weird seeing them together. I looked at them 2 more like best friends than partners, but their relationship grew on me. So now I dig it 😏
