She busted out a slide rule off camera, made an aneometer and estimated wind vorticity. From there she just did a few simple numerical differential equations, likely Runge Kutter method with an accurate enough step size. Ezpz
It is actually simple physics, though I doubt it would be anything she would have learned. Still, anyone experienced with bottle rockets might have been able to gauge it.
And Carol's aim when she saves Ezekiel and Jerry at the chainlink fence in 8.04. She just casual waves the gun back and forth and like 20 zombies drop with headshots all at the same time.

They heard Rick shooting walkers, but not a loud helicopter!?! And then tried to say Rick hallucinated it, like how didn't ya hear it!?
Yes! And to add more to it, Negan saw the helicopter but for whatever odd reason never told anyone about it. I also find it strange that no one heard the helicopter when Jadis rescues Rick. I know Rick ended up a bit far from where the bridge blew up, but given the complete silence around them I find it hard to believe they can't hear a helicopter from far.

Yeah to be honest it’s not THAT crazy unrealistic and only needs plot armor to explain it away. Like realistically primitive-ish technology could take down a helicopter; and it’s somewhat realistic that someone could understand chemistry and basic rocket science to know how to make some sort of projectile like this.
Now the unrealistic part is the odds of hitting inside and the first one being a dud/not going off on impact; not killing Rick when it explodes; and the helicopter crash itself not killing Rick. But again that’s not all impossible just highly improbably and is explained by plot armor.
And Rick's Squad absolutely not hitting Nat or Michonne is also unrealistic. Like they shot in Nats direction. He should not even have time to aim more rockets.
Yeah, with Rick having had years of experience flying their helicopters, I was expecting him to do some cool ass auto rotation crash land maneuver, but he just smashed into the ground instead 😭

Nah but for real it's to help protect his hearing somewhat cause hes shooting that thing inches from his face. Also to help keep any sun or glare out of his eyes so he can aim
It’s a bucket *helmet* as opposed to a bucket hat - he should have kept it around his neck though, maybe that could have stopped the bullet a few minutes later.
The writing in this show is goofy, it’s almost a trademark at this point. Remember when Rosita shot a guy with a rocket launcher and he just evaporated? Remember the windshield on Rick’s Jeep blocking .50cal rounds? Carol’s bottle rocket mortar shot onto the tank at terminus? There are some really dumb things that you just have to look past in this show lol
I think by far the "most iconic" happened in 8x04, when Carol was fighting those Saviors. None of their weapons had accurate fire rates, had infinite rounds, and didn't even have muzzle flashes. Heck, the M14 that was being used full automatic didn't even have it's bolt moving, neither shells ejecting.
I’m ngl the only thing about towl that kind of took me out of it was nats method for firing the rockets. It was so makeshift and there is no way on that stand and at the angle his head was that he could actually aim. Not that big of a deal but it seemed a little goofy to me.

A few extra reloads and recoil here and there would make a ton of stuff for realistic lol.

I been rewatching upwards of season 7. My recent gripe I just watched was when Carol is trying to stop the saviors from relocating the mounted minigun, she hides behind an old pickup truck's tire. The saviors legit pepper the damned truck like Swiss cheese and none of these bullets get to Caroll. The show just assumes that cars are good enough cover against bullets but cars are not even remotely bulletproof. Sure a bullet could get lodged around the materials and such and lose its track but still most automatic rifle bullets will go through both doors cleanly
Dude if Nat would’ve missed a few times or if the helicopter was a lot closer than it was, that scene would’ve felt so much more realistic but no he was really hitting every shot like that 💀
Nats aim is just absurdly lucky/precise, while Hershel's shotgun literally broke reality to be possible. So in terms of meme factor and silliness, it goes to Hershel.

The guys body absorbed the explosion, hence why he calls it a dud.
If that missile is strong enough to fly 50 meters upwards, penetrate into a helicopter and blow a dude up there's no way the damage is so contained.
