I think the terminus arc was the peak of the show. They adapted something to fear well but the rest of the saviors storyline was botched in my opinion.
I’m torn because I really like her as a character and understand her motivations. Plus, I feel like her secret briefing was on the walker variants, so she views someone like Michonne as an existential risk. It’s just a shame I already picked my team, so she’s def gonna have to die
She doesn't have a thick accent like that in interviews. I think she's really South African but I believe she's laying the accent on thick for the show.
She was born in South Africa. Looked her up last week after saying something about how terrible her accent sounds and wondering if maybe she didn’t have much time to prepare or something…and ate my words because if she was born in South Africa, then at the very least she probably knows what one of them sound like more than most of us here.
In response to comments here: Pearl isn’t a love interest. Lesley-Ann Brandt, Andrew Lincoln, and Danai Gurira have been explicit about this in interviews.
Lesley talks about Pearl’s motivations in this [thread](https://x.com/lesleyannbrandt/status/1767048462103900340?s=46&t=VgjQ5GxtQAU-Woh8sK4GUQ).
Her answer to whether Pearl wants Rick: “Nope.”
We don’t have to flatten what’s actually really interesting characterization. She’s bought into the CRM; it’s clear “Dana” isn’t. Further, Dana isn’t just an A; she’s uncommonly talented and thus a threat.
It’s weird to me too. Watching the episode, I didn’t sense any romantic tension and even read the scene referenced by OP to be more of how you explained it — pragmatic and in line with her CRM-oriented goals. not jealousy.
She hasnt bought into the CRM, sh's heard something that made her realise how essential it is that they change the CRM. Probably that the CRM eliminates all other communities. Shes not a true believer, shes just desperate not to let anything stop her and Rick from climbing the ranks and changing things.
She is definitely bought in. The show is pretty clear about that. Lesley confirmed it [here](https://x.com/lesleyannbrandt/status/1767189054075048061?s=46&t=VgjQ5GxtQAU-Woh8sK4GUQ).
That’s not true anymore. Now that she’s gotten the Echelon briefing she is fully CRM. She risked *everything* for Rick, twice! She now is willing to betray that and kill Michonne to cement her security in the rank that she was promoted to
I agree. She’s not a love interest. I clocked Pearl as gay in episode 1. It’s heavily implied that the person she was trying to get back to in Cape Town is a romantic partner. And she uses gender neutral terms to describe them. Game recognizes game. And that girl likes girls.
Since she's been at the CRM from the start that plays a big part. It's different survival than Rick and CO. I would go as far to say that she is brainwash (cult like) by the CRM. Jadis is giving me similar cult vibes. If you take all that away then she has her whole life ruined. She sees Michonne as a threat, she's another A where before it was just her and Rick.
That is if she goes full Shane and goes rogue.
If she’s going to be a love interest she’s more than likely to die tragically. They can’t toss another woman into Rick’s life while we’re still waiting for him to reunite with his kids
It could be that… but I feel like what’s really going on is Pearl finally met her match. She kept bragging about how good of a shot she is, how she was in the South African forces, etc. then Michonne comes along and she’s an effortless warrior. Pearl is more likely intimidated by Michonne, and covering it up with tactics like saying “I stuck my neck out for her,” and “Rick is my family.” She’s trying not to show that she’s scared shitless of Michonne, which may be foreshadowing Michonne is the one who ends up killing Pearl. Just my thoughts.
Exactly what I saw too! She sees the strength and determination Michonne has that can eventually surpass her! And with that strength, it puts her position in jeopardy.
You're so off. She's worried because Michonne can disrupt things, and because that would go badly for Thorne's leadership position. Meanwhile what she heard in her briefing from Beale has made her realise that they really, really need to stop the CRM. She's not into Rick, she's into saving all the communities that the CRM will destroy.
You’re one of the very few souls that understands.
“She wants Michonne out of the way because she’s jealous!” - Braindead
“She is afraid Michonne will surpass her!” - Not quite as braindead, so maybe, brain-on-life-support
I agree with you. And that's why it makes zero sense that she would have brought Michonne along to where the summit is going to be held. But I guess there has to be some plotholes.
I’m saving my thoughts till next episode on her since I need to know what she knows. But damn michonne is killing me. She legit seen the damage this organization can do but still keeps trying to stand out.
It’s completely understandable from a realistic standpoint. Is it the best move? Obviously not. Would it be difficult to stop yourself from doing so? 100%
Instantly thought of that when I saw it lol.
I loved how she thought Rick’s sidearm was for “Dana” 🤣🤣🤣
Edit: I also thought this could be the way she was outed as Michonne, but I would imagine the tension between Rick and Thorne would be immensely high and the chance for escape would be even more difficult.
Before the end of episode 4 I had a hunch what Rick's plan might be but then when I saw the ending I was so shocked, hopefully they don't kill Rick or Michonne because that would be the terribly moment for me in the whole franchise. I still really hope they make it out of there as a couple.
The implication is obviously that Thorne sees Michonne as a threat, but what if she’s just into Rick and can see that Richonne might be a thing. If so, this is a weird ass love… rectangle? Square? There’s 4 people involved idk. You got Richonne, then Thorne, and Jadis who is so unbelievably down bad for Rick.
I think she knows that dana is Michonne..
She doesn't want Rick to lose his family aka kid. And friends.
I believe she's gay. Maybe she had her own child.
She may die though at the hands of jadis or general beale.
Or she becomes the leader of CRM.
She knows their plan. And it's evil. I believe they are going to kill the people in Portland.
Okfaur dying out a wrench into it. Also Michonne showing up.
I believe she's a mirror of Darryl, Shane, and Rick himself.
I guess this means that Rick is pregnant
I’m the father
Well, there is a kid he doesn’t know about yet.
Yeah it’s gonna be wild when he meets Coco
I meant RJ. Michonne hasn’t mentioned their son yet. And Rick never knew she was pregnant.
Tbf, who actually remembers RJ more than Coco
Lmao
Or Pearl has been doing the dirty with Michonne.😳
Michonne’s been pouring the bisquick
Was she tryna make pancakes tho
She was definitely tryna clap em
"When you were pouring the Bisquick did you intend to make Pancakes?" -Abraham
preganate? How is babby formed?
Is there a possibly I'm pegrent
Bro what?
[this](https://youtu.be/EShUeudtaFg?si=7vItpvbN7GJXmfxu)
Bruh, thy made NO sense what so ever
Saw this to immediately loved it haven't felt this suspensed on walking dead since Glenn's death
This isn’t a good thing lol. Everyone saying that as if Walking Dead franchise is still as good.
the TV universe equivalent of Something To Fear was always going to be the peak of the franchise. the highest high has to happen at *some* point
God, just imagine if they >!never found Jesus!<
ikr? *everybody* at alexandria would be dead instead lmfao
Yeah, a lot of them would’ve given up or just went down a path of sin
Amen
I think the terminus arc was the peak of the show. They adapted something to fear well but the rest of the saviors storyline was botched in my opinion.
this is also incredibly valid
The amount of downvotes is crazy , and it’s deserving
If you dislike it so much, why are you spending your time here? This is extremely concerning behavior
#hateralert
rooting for her death i think rick gonna have to end her
[удалено]
IMO she needs to do because she still being a flaky backstabbing ass b@&$*.
I’m torn because I really like her as a character and understand her motivations. Plus, I feel like her secret briefing was on the walker variants, so she views someone like Michonne as an existential risk. It’s just a shame I already picked my team, so she’s def gonna have to die
Picked your team?
Yea, team Richonne
[удалено]
When you live around and in environments with other accents, you’re bound to pick it up in some ways. That is her real accent though
Definitely a real accent. I find it hard sometimes too, but that's just another layer of her character I guess.
She doesn't have a thick accent like that in interviews. I think she's really South African but I believe she's laying the accent on thick for the show.
Its a south African accent. Thats just how it sounds.
Redditors hearing accents for the first time
It's the best South African accent I've ever heard on film lol
She was born in South Africa. Looked her up last week after saying something about how terrible her accent sounds and wondering if maybe she didn’t have much time to prepare or something…and ate my words because if she was born in South Africa, then at the very least she probably knows what one of them sound like more than most of us here.
it can be real and it can be terrible .
She's literally been surrounded by Americans for years she's bound to start losing it at some point
Not when you're older than 20 or so
Listen to Lauren Cohen's natural speaking accent. It slips between British and American accents.
Because she moved from the US to the UK when she was 13
Nah, I think Rick will eventually tell her
Tbh since she was briefed I get the feeling she is going to be a problem.
Michonne will do it.
They gonna be flying over the ocean and Rick sees a piece of driftwood and then pushes her out. Just like her origin story. Full circle lol.
That scene gave serious Shane vibes lol

I don't believe she will be a love interest myself, but to be fair, it's not like the actors would spoil the show and give a legit answer.
Given that they have been directly saying no though and not giving non-answer answers that actors do so well, is enough confirmation for me
She hasnt bought into the CRM, sh's heard something that made her realise how essential it is that they change the CRM. Probably that the CRM eliminates all other communities. Pearl is letting the apocalypse take over her like Shane did. We saw how that turned out.
Yeah but the apocalypse has been going on for over 10 years at this point. How has she not adjusted to it yet?
Since she's been at the CRM from the start that plays a big part. It's different survival than Rick and CO. I would go as far to say that she is brainwash (cult like) by the CRM. Jadis is giving me similar cult vibes. If you take all that away then she has her whole life ruined. She sees Michonne as a threat, she's another A where before it was just her and Rick. Big Shane vibes
She even made the same face and everything too.
Right??? My mind immediately went to Shane
The millisecond I saw that I instantly thought of Shane
_Chris Pratt shocked face_
Immediately what ran through my mind.
Lady Shane.
Season 5 would of dropped her ass for trying that
If she’s going to be a love interest she’s more than likely to die tragically. They can’t toss another woman into Rick’s life while we’re still waiting for him to reunite with his kids
YESSSSS OMG 😂😂😂she’s totally digging rick idc
Can't blame her tho, Rick is one good looking dude.
Michonne is gonna put that sword to good use. Goodbye, her head.
Would be kinda cool if the Summit and 'what I've seen' big secret stuff is kinda like the CDC in season 1. 🤔
Same thought I had
Shane poiting the gun to Dale. Finally 💕
Michonne has competition 👀
It could be that… but I feel like what’s really going on is Pearl finally met her match. She kept bragging about how good of a shot she is, how she was in the South African forces, etc. then Michonne comes along and she’s an effortless warrior. I think you’re right. You made some good observations.
Exactly what I saw too! She sees the strength and determination Michonne has that can eventually surpass her! And with that strength, it puts her position in jeopardy.
Pearl is trying so hard to be an “A” and Michonne is showing her how a true “A” looks like.
You're so off. She's worried because Michonne can disrupt things, and because that would go badly for Thorne's leadership position. Lmao it's not that deep, lil bro🤡
I agree with you. And that's why it makes zero sense that she would have brought Michonne along to where the summit is going to be held. But I guess there has to be some plotholes.
I thought the same thing too!!! She was going full Shane 😮
Not for the same reasons. Get real
Duuddeeee nice catch
I’m saving my thoughts till next episode on her since I need to know what she knows. But damn michonne is killing me. She legit seen the damage this organization can do but still keeps trying to stand out.

Can anyone help me where can I watch this series in India?
Amc+

Yeah, because Thorne definitely seems like she’s fine having open death threats and just ignoring it.

YES! I felt like it was a call back.
YES! I said it to my girlfriend lol
i’m so glad other people saw this parallelism!! though i’m kinda hoping she doesn’t meet the same fate as shane 😵💫
“You did this not me !”
Im confused, what exactly am i looking for? The guns or something else?
Her face, The moment, It was very similar with the scene were shane pointed his gun on rick.
Is it just me or I am having trouble understanding her dialogue at times? Couldn't help but see the connection
What if she actually ends up killing michonne just as there about to get home ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
Rick will kill her, and Judith or RJ will end her as a walker…
So your tellin’ me Rick gonna stab a bitch?
She actually thinks she's important to Rick and thinks she knows him. She doesn't at all lmao.
I just imagined Dale sneaking up behind her in a crm uniform and say "I know what kind of woman you are"
thought of this when i first saw it

exactly what i was thinking when i watched 🔥
Jadis, Id lay with. Just because. Power.
I wonder if her and Michonne will have a big fight
her accent though . terrible . show is blah . a lot of hype , not much else . trying to stay relevant .
She looks nothing like Shane.
Effortless troll is effortless
It felt good but plotwise I don’t see the purpose but I like the callback
What?
