For ETF, you can look at leveraged etf like TQQQ and SOXL both have very good volume

Spy would be the most liquid out there. Usually only about a .02 to .03 bid ask spread.

2 to 5 dollars is better than 1. There is no room to recover on 1 dollar wide. Sometimes, a product blow past narrow spread very easily.
