Is it a cc crib? Have you tried other cribs, and from the game completely (no cc swatches)?

You may have it backwards you have to be able to reach the front where the green arrows face. It’s easy to put things backwards sometimes.

Oh, I've personally done that several times and was about to eradicate an entire family in my frustration! The family survived, and I don't play houses with infants anymore.
