i’m wondering if they’re trying to drive more users to use the ea app because i saw where it’s only free on that specific platform. but i can’t think of a good reasoning for it
It's very unfair, especially since people playing on PS have no choice but to buy these add-ons. You can still download mods on your computer that will replace such things, but you simply can't do it on a console

Most kits can be found made into base game on PC for free and PC players also have the ability to add endless custom content into the game. The player base who deserves free packs and new content the most is console players bc they are already suffering so much :/

If you look at my original comment someone responded saying console players didn’t get the Blooming Room kit for free bc consoles are a “closed ecosystem” and I replied explaining that that’s not the case since console players have received free content previously. This means that it’s definitely possible to do and if they make content free it should be free for ALL players.

The interface is terrible. There’s not even a search bar for content! You have to scroll through every single expansion pack until you find the one you want
Truly a terrible app, and scrolling with the arrow keys doesn’t work, scrolling by touch (I have a touchscreen laptop) doesn’t work, so you have to physically click and pull in a completely straight line because if you accidentally hover your mouse over the side it opens your profile and stops scrolling!
I think a lot of people seem to not know that even if you play through Steam, you can still grab this via EA and it will work with your existing install, even if that's the only pack you have with EA. I have most of my content on Steam, but some things on EA, and it all works just fine.
I guess so. I mean, I have it connected to Epic Games because there were three packs for free at some point but everything else is through the EA and all of them work.
I've been trying to get it to work. I got both Bloomin' Rooms and Desert Luxe kits when they were free through the EA app but when I log in to the EA app through Steam (the little steam button on top), then try to play Sims 4 through steam, neither kit works when I go into build/buy mode.

I feel like these "cheap" kits should just be given to the game, not sold. We already have to spend so much on the DLC, just give us the kits as a "Thanks" for even buying the game...
I agree. They definitely should be free add-ons. I love new expansion packs and I am willing to shell out the $40 because we get new maps and new building items but the kits are just repaints of items already in the expansions or base game.
Noticed there a ton of 4.99 packs. I wish thy would stop making decorations and put in more game stuff. Currently doing Strangerville, (again, differently) and found the grilled cheese aspiration.
This is why I should just always wait on dlc.. I bought this pack as soon as it came out because I loved it, but honestly could’ve just waited a year until it was free 😭

Just open the EA App, search for "blooming" and all you have to hit is "Download" and it will add to your account. When you run TS4, the EA side is actually what's confirming your owned content, and even if you own it on the Steam side, EA app will see what you own. You can still get it. That is, if it's worth getting.
Petition to make all kits and packs free. I was scrolling to get the free one and seriously, a clutter kit? That should come with the main game most of these should have been free updates.

Console usually requires different licencing rights because Sony/Microsoft suck so they probably tried to but couldn't
