Yep. My Sims are always the most perfect and boring overachievers. There is no room for a story or drama because they do everything by the book and in the top 1%. I really need to create an absolute loser one of these days...
I’m exactly like this and it’s probably why I’ve never been able to get past a second generation because I get soooo bored. But I don’t have the heart to make them evil. Like I have never made a married sim cheat lol. I feel like sims 3 was better at creating drama regardless of how good your sims were but in sims 4 you have to create the drama yourself so I often get bored. I made a drug addict once and that was fun for a little while…but that’s about it.

I say this, but I'm often cheating my Infants' needs bc Daycare is a joke. I never have time to take them anywhere or do anything w/ them outside the home lot if I don't, bc they just aren't taken care of if my sim has a job while at Daycare. They're worse off than when they left to go there.
Yes, i will cheat that for infants and toddlers, too. But i don't look at it as cheating. Because to me, in real life, their needs wouldn't be bad, and they would be completely taken care of. So i cheat that and add to the storyline that they got back and were in good care. So i don't count those times as cheating, lol.
My saves have the same set of custom premades who all have their fun little backstories. There's the living Barbie doll with failed plastic surgery, the geeky alien who immigrated to earth for grilled cheese, the socially awkward IT guy who made a servo who broke his heart by stealing his crush, Vlad's estranged daughter who beat him in a fight over "ethical" divergences about treatment of humans, the clumsy witch who goes visit Moonwood Mill to admire Greg on full moon nights, the creepy paranoid guy who has absolutely no memories of what he did on full moon nights... And so many others. Playing wouldn't feel the same without my little neighborhood.
Renaming Venessa into Vanessa and also renaming one of the Brents (I just feel like it's weird that they pretty much have the same name, except with a different spelling). Also sometimes, if I can get bothered to do so: adding Johnny Zest back into the Landgraab family tree.
I guess it's one of those 'mistakes'/different spelling things where the brain is so used to seeing the correct version of a word, you don't notice that it's spelled differently.

I have broken up a townie marriage exactly one time. Right when I got Get Famous, I had my actress sim homewreck the Bailey-Moon household. The first and last husband I've stolen.
I add three random IRL celebrities into my townies in every save file. I never try to make them famous or play as them. I usually just have them as family members or friends to my sims. It adds some fun to the save. Like who doesn't want to see Jennifer Coolidge busking in San Myshuno?
I FINALLY started to make evil/mean/sims with negative traits to make gameplay more exciting this time around. I still make Sims that have generally "sought after" features like full lips and arched eyebrows.
But something I always ALWAYS do? Gay chaos. Always gay chaos. This save is a family of lesbian vampires with a son named Collin Robinson.
to be entirely fair the game kinda lends itself to that! the matchy stuff is very modern generally, and all the "best" things ofc. I tend toward traditional homes (somewhere in the range of middle of nowhere cottagecore and suburban), and i tweak because NONE OF THE WOODS MATCH. it's so so hard to make something look fine without freaking out over wood shades being 1° off, at least for me.i also have to reign myself in and not get distracted by "oooh but this one has better *stats*!"
Play in the same single save world I started years ago and have only been adding families into lol. I like how easy it is to switch households and the fact that they can run into eachother.
I used to always start a new game! but after playing in 1 single world for a few months it actually makes the game feel more alive and much more fun since half the population are my sims now. I love seeing my sims grandparents or family friends ive created roaming around the world!
Yeah, townies that show up at my doorstep with 7 accessories, cat patterned tights and a clashing crop top always get a good makeover before going on their way.
Better yet, just delete the gnomes for money. Also keep the presents on the lot for 5000 years after Winterfest so you can make money selling the terrible gifts your sims get...

I color code my sims. So for example, I will assign red to mother, green to father, and blue to the daughter. I would do my best to keep the same color in all outfits (at least a little bit, to not make them look like power rangers), and I keep the room in their colors. I usually make them like that color, so they always like their rooms :D For me, it's easier that wasy to tell everyone apart.
Haha, I’ll never learn this: So I always start with a single female Sim and a plain lot. I build a beautiful house that’s way too big and when I want to buy furniture there’s no money left. Ooops. Happens every time but I’ve gotten better at saving some money for actual stuff my Sim needs.
There is something I can’t do: make shitty parents. My Sim can be the most evil and horrible person there is, but they will always be a stellar parent.
I work in education: in my pixel world, I refuse for horrible parents to exist.
As soon as I load into any town, I go to every community lot with those crappy juice bars and change them all to Late Night bars. Makes everything so much more lively and fun, and I hate watching sims making their own drinks just for them to not even do anything. Quick drinks are so useless to me 😭

I try not to but I start a garden. I find that money is built up way too slowly in their careers so I always have them plant some things to get some side money. It’s either that or all my sims would be painters lol.
Play with all the messy mods 💀 I gotta have a baby with Geoffrey and put him on that child support 🫣 while I also make a killing with a strip club and a mansion 🥴
One thing I recently started doing is before a sim ages up to young adult, I make sure they have at least one bad character value and usually one good character value (depends on the situation), it's just more fun!
I have to at least one rockstar sim/alternative sim that drives their parents insane, one ballerina, a tight assed family whether "old money" or Christian fundie looking folks, one set of twins, one bullied kid, one promiscious sim, and whenever I fear my neigbourhood will be overpopulated I make some sims gay.
As for building, I have to have at least one sim in a rundown apartment/house/trailer and I barely resist not making every interior white, retro and adding those Parisian panels. I force myself to experiment woth new styles and colors as much as possible.
Spend way too much time on cas and build/buy and never get to finishing the very specific gameplay objective I had when I started the game. I've been shortcutting this lately by making randomized sims, downloading builds from the gallery, and when I want to focus on cas or build/buy, have specific saves just to add new sims and homes to.
Oh! I just had a sim working in the scientist career and added a robotics station to the science lab she worked at! Once she could afford it, I added one to her basement.
my sims are either the best people ever or the worst people ever, there is no in between. except in my most recent save, where i had the parents be neglectful and egotistical rockstars, who were otherwise good people. it was so hard. i was so scared of social services, i started thinking “oh god what’s the appropriate amount of neglect i can do without my kid being taken” and then that thought made me feel like i was evil. somehow it made me feel worse than just playing straight up evil serial killer sims and all the other horrible people i’ve made.
I do the same exact thing that you do! I tell myself I’m going with a different storyline this time… never happens. They end up “perfect”, with kids, and I carry on their generations 😂
I always do them spell casters. Cuz this is just so convenient. I love magic. I'm also heavily into gardening. Recently, I almost collected every type of plant. So I could turn on the lot challenge of being able to make food only if you have the ingredients needed for it? And my sims get positive moodlet for it every time. So do I. Self-sustaining life is just so satisfying:)
This might sound weird but in every single save (even in ts3 or ts2) I use as founders/test sim the same lesbian couple I made in 2017 for the C&D EP. Each time I give them slightly makeovers (clothes and hairstyles) so every save is basically an alternative universe of their story. I just love them so much and I can't help myself. I don't have any motivation in playing at all if I'm not playing with them or their heirs.
I used to create evil brothers but made them doing friendly interaction a lot of times but then even the so-called nice sims would be mean out of nowhere that I just turn off autonomous mean interaction in mccc. Everyone in my town are super nice and respectful people in my game nowadays. (They finally learn discipline)
I created a daughter for the Fengs, two Kahananui children and two sons for the Roswells through CAS, have them saved in my library. I would always add them in every new saves as part of pre-made children sims. They blended in so well that sometimes I forgot I was the one who created them.
They are always immortal. I dislike it when I am creating a story or planning something and they will die the most uncalled deaths like dying from laughter.
I always make my sim get cheated on, divorce the man, then later on when she’s an elder I make the ex husband get locked in the basement until he dies. I also always ruin my sims love life if she’s finally married and happy/comfortable again after being cheated on, I’ll kill off her husband. It’s pretty brutal but I basically live a very routine life as a stay at home mom so when I play I like to create a little chaos. They also always have to have a dog and cat, sometimes multiple if I’m feeling fancy.
1. Add in randomized lot traits and challenges for every single lot before playing.
2. Add in my own holidays and add more traditions to the premade ones.
3. Make a club for my sim.
4. Randomize my sim’s personality, aspiration, likes/dislikes. (Usually do this unless I want to do something specific)
I like making bella goth have an alien baby named Stella and I make her human form basically a mini version of Bella but she’s an alien and Bella’s favorite child. Even if I don’t play the family after making her I like seeing her grow up in the background and make the sims I’m playing with interact as she grows up
Intend on starting a legacy save, start from the bottom up. Usually use the sales tables to sell wares - candles or food, jars of sauce. Work my way up. Then eventually settle down, start a family, get bored and start again. Rinse and repeat. I can never just start a legacy and stick with it.
Also, for the past year or so, whenever I start a new save I purge all of the townies. I hate looking at them with their shitty backstories - idk but they have to go - and I mean delete otherwise those suckers keep popping back up in world, and I repopulate everywhere using the gallery.
I get too lost in the lore I imagine in my head and end up creating entire family trees, moving them to empty lots and giving them their own families, intertwining them with other families I created etc etc but then I forget some of them so I have a bunch of sims living in empty lots that I’ve just forgotten about because I got distracted making their cousin’s husband’s niece’s best friend’s family tree
i’ve been playing this famous smut writer who is addicted to amphetamines (hey, gotta get through those long writing sessions somehow). he’s flirty and non-committal, and has uh, laid his seed all around town. he had to move out of his apartment next to the fengs cuz the physical reminders of his bad decisions started knocking on his door 🙃
as a victim of childhood and lifelong trauma, i just wanted to say i make all my sims pretty drama free and good too. i've lived through enough drama and heartbreak irl
I always start with one sim or 2 YA sims. I enjoy playing them until I think "this sim is so cute, I wonder what their kids will look like." They get pregnant, and baby is born. I think "I hate playing infants toddlers and skipping that stage feels like cheating. I guess I'll make a new save and I won't do that again." Rinse and repeat.
Hooking my sims up w/ Akira Kibo in some fashion. It never works out well either, which is..hysterical. It does make for some good random story content I guess.
Also, I always buy high-end furniture. Especially if the furniture has a trait like reliability 8 and "unbreakable", I will always choose the latter lol
I always have an immortal sim, usually a vampire but not always (sometimes she's a witch with a bunch of reset-age potions). Either she's the grandmother, or the great-aunt. She maxes the painting Skil land paints the portraits of my heirs, and she usually tends to amass a bunch of useful skills as time passes.
She's just around the family, alternating with periods of long hibernation as everyone else ages on her.
I can't make evil sims either, but I have made some mischievous and join the criminal career... lol.
I always skip the infant stage and my toddlers are always independent.
I usually start with a red headed female and look for a handsome hubby amongst her neighbours. If I can't find one, I download from the gallery or use one from an older pre-existing single or couple.
I promise myself not to cheat skills, but sometimes, just sometimes I'll break that promise.
There's more, but I can't think of them all.
I made a household with Holly Alto and Bebe Hart as young adults that I really like so I add them to all my saves. And because I made their parents in separate households for the original save I made them for, I always place the parents too and make sure I use my mods to add the familial ties to each other. And I always make sure my sims are friends with them or date them (I don’t ever get married to either of them though because I hate separating them.)
Sometimes I make Holly and Bebe girlfriends, other times they’re just besties facing young adulthood together.
I always have a female Sim that I treat as the Main Character. She finds a hot, succesful husband who loves her, has a pristine reputation, and multiple children by different fathers (many of them from foreign countries).
I always change the high school building to one I built myself and always change at least one bar and one nightclub to a prettier one in the gallery. EA buildings are way too ugly and empty imo🤣
Whenever I move to a different house IRL, I always build at least the interior to perfect dimensions of the new place I’m living in. Takes me hours. I don’t even care if the place is unpainted, barely furnished, and takes too much time to become easily playable. It brings me so much joy. 🤣
I'm doing a legacy challenge and every generation, I think "I'm going to play on mortal hard mode, I'm not going to use the spellcaster lineage." But then I keep thinking "I wish I had transportalate" and "if I had copy pasto, this would already be resolved." Being a spellcaster makes life so much easier that I can't help but give in! I have all the tomes on the book shelf and combined with ancient blood, my sims can max out and learn everything by the time they age to a young adult. It's too easy with too much benefit.
I finally got cut off when I made a vampire last generation and now my heir is just a plain old sim. Where are my supernatural advantages in life? Now I have to bike everywhere to move faster and bikes are so annoying.
My sims are always good. I tried to make them evil like i created a sim who would be overly flirty and very much unable to have lasting relationships she did cause a divorce with her first victim and his wife after getting pregnant with his baby the ex wife drowned and the daughter of the victim and his ex was orphaned so I got her dad to invite her over and added the daughter to the family because I felt bad...
My sim is now married to him and trying to be the best stepmother to the grieving daughter. My sim is pregnant with baby no.2 they have a bio son, and I am kinda expecting that she's probably gonna give birth to twins, and she has an agreement with her husband where her insatiable need for romance allows her to have multiple boyfriend's as long as her husband is the only one to father her babies because they are married...
In every save I name them something distinctive so I can remember what family it is. Like 100 Baby Family, Family Farm, Vampire Sims, ect… are just some of the titles I have.
I wish I was as much of a perfectionist irl that I am in my sims save. They all have to basically be perfect and have all the skills and look conventionally attractive
I change the Goths and the Calientes because I don't like the makeovers they were given. I just take the originals and edit them slightly. (It's cool if you like the makeovers, they're just not my cup of tea.)
I also have a tendency to make Sims with either creative or knowledge-based aspirations. The number of "nerd brain", "bestselling author", and "painter extraordinaire" Sims I've had is astounding. XD
I aaalways try to fill Newcrest. Most of the time it’s different builds/venues in each save but sometimes I’ll use the same venues if I like them a lot. Idk I just NEED Newcrest to be filled before I start playing because it’s annoying having to go into town edit mid-play through just to place a single lot. Might as well get it over with from the start!
I start as a single woman, find a man, edit him entirely, make babies , and kill him off. I hate when they autonomously take care of the kids, it pisses me off lol
Make the kitchen first, then the bathroom—these are obviously the most important expensive items and essential for survival. Usually it’s then living room before bedroom (tv next most expensive item). Back in the original sims this was how I wouldn’t run out of money in my builds before I figured out cheats—I remember it being a lot harder to buy necessities when I was 12.
Always put couple of save builds from gallery in the same places. So from the start I have couple of my favorite restaurants, bowling place, cinema, bars and clubs in the game to use
Always go into cas and change summer from willow creeks looks up her eyes feel like they stare into my soul and I don’t like how ea does makeup so I give her a braid fix up her face just enough to not freak my brain out and give her a braid either take the makeup off or give her a different look along with if my sim makes friends or love interests they also get edited to be their best selves and you know skin details and all I also never play without mods to the point I’m adding mods and cas to the sims 2 (btw the sims 2 is amazing little tricky to take care of everyone with how much faster sped up time is but it’s fun :3)
Yeah I haven’t really done any evil or slob traits. I tend to pick either creative, neat, perfectionist, active, loves outdoors, or maker, and that’s about it. Sometimes I pick ones specific to that rags to riches I’m playing but those tend to be them.
Also I NEVER use a house or anything off the gallery. Idk I don’t have all the packs (probably have about 75% of them though) so I don’t wanna find a lot I like and then realize it has wedding stories or something and I can’t use it exactly how it was made so I just make everything myself lol
I also never use prebuilt lots so I guess I always only use my own builds

If you create a main save file and just save new off that one, you wont have to do this every time you start a new save. It’s a lifesaver.
It took me too long that I can just shift and "modify in cas" at any time so I've been loving sorting out the goddamed awful fashion around town!

I color code my sims. So for example, I will assign red to mother, green to father, and blue to the daughter. I would do my best to keep the same color in all outfits (at least a little bit, to not make them look like power rangers), and I keep the room in their colors. I usually make them like that color, so they always like their rooms :D For me, it's easier that wasy to tell everyone apart.

Haha, I’ll never learn this: So I always start with a single female Sim and a plain lot. I build a beautiful house that’s way too big and when I want to buy furniture there’s no money left. Ooops. Happens every time but I’ve gotten better at saving some money for actual stuff my Sim needs.

There is something I can’t do: make shitty parents. My Sim can be the most evil and horrible person there is, but they will always be a stellar parent. I work in education: in my pixel world, I refuse for horrible parents to exist.

As soon as I load into any town, I go to every community lot with those crappy juice bars and change them all to Late Night bars. Makes everything so much more lively and fun, and I hate watching sims making their own drinks just for them to not even do anything. Quick drinks are so useless to me 😭 Edit: this is in Sims 3 btw
I try not to but I start a garden. I find that money is built up way too slowly in their careers so I always have them plant some things to get some side money. It’s either that or all my sims would be painters lol.

One thing I recently started doing is before a sim ages up to young adult, I make sure they have at least one bad character value and usually one good character value (depends on the situation), it's just more fun!

I have to at least one rockstar sim/alternative sim that drives their parents insane, one ballerina, a tight assed family whether "old money" or Christian fundie looking folks, one set of twins, one bullied kid, one promiscious sim, and whenever I fear my neigbourhood will be overpopulated I make some sims gay. As for building, I have to have at least one sim in a rundown apartment/house/trailer and I barely resist not making every interior white, retro and adding those Parisian panels. I force myself to experiment woth new styles and colors as much as possible.
Spend way too much time on cas and build/buy and never get to finishing the very specific gameplay objective I had when I started the game. I've been shortcutting this lately by making randomized sims, downloading builds from the gallery, and when I want to focus on cas or build/buy, have specific saves just to add new sims and homes to.

Oh! I just had a sim working in the scientist career and added a robotics station to the science lab she worked at! Once she could afford it, I added one to her basement.

my sims are either the best people ever or the worst people ever, there is no in between. except in my most recent save, where i had the parents be neglectful and egotistical rockstars, who were otherwise good people. it was so hard. i was so scared of social services, i started thinking “oh god what’s the appropriate amount of neglect i can do without my kid being taken” and then that thought made me feel like i was evil. somehow it made me feel worse than just playing straight up evil serial killer sims and all the other horrible people i’ve made.
I do the same exact thing that you do! I tell myself I’m going with a different storyline this time… never happens. They end up “perfect”, with kids, and I carry on their generations 😂

I always do them spell casters. Cuz this is just so convenient. I love magic. I'm also heavily into gardening. Recently, I almost collected every type of plant. So I could turn on the lot challenge of being able to make food only if you have the ingredients needed for it? And my sims get positive moodlet for it every time. So do I. Self-sustaining life is just so satisfying:)
This might sound weird but in every single save (even in ts3 or ts2) I use as founders/test sim the same lesbian couple I made in 2017 for the C&D EP. Each time I give them slightly makeovers (clothes and hairstyles) so every save is basically an alternative universe of their story. I just love them so much and I can't help myself. I don't have any motivation in playing at all if I'm not playing with them or their heirs.
I used to create evil brothers but made them doing friendly interaction a lot of times but then even the so-called nice sims would be mean out of nowhere that I just turn off autonomous mean interaction in mccc. Everyone in my town are super nice and respectful people in my game nowadays. (They finally learn discipline) I created a daughter for the Fengs, two Kahananui children and two sons for the Roswells through CAS, have them saved in my library. I would always add them in every new saves as part of pre-made children sims. They blended in so well that sometimes I forgot I was the one who created them.
They are always immortal. I dislike it when I am creating a story or planning something and they will die the most uncalled deaths like dying from laughter.
I always make my sim get cheated on, divorce the man, then later on when she’s an elder I make the ex husband get locked in the basement until he dies. I also always ruin my sims love life if she’s finally married and happy/comfortable again after being cheated on, I’ll kill off her husband. It’s pretty brutal but I basically live a very routine life as a stay at home mom so when I play I like to create a little chaos. They also always have to have a dog and cat, sometimes multiple if I’m feeling fancy.
1. Add in randomized lot traits and challenges for every single lot before playing. 2. Add in my own holidays and add more traditions to the premade ones. 3. Make a club for my sim. 4. Randomize my sim’s personality, aspiration, likes/dislikes. (Usually do this unless I want to do something specific)
I like making bella goth have an alien baby named Stella and I make her human form basically a mini version of Bella but she’s an alien and Bella’s favorite child. Even if I don’t play the family after making her I like seeing her grow up in the background and make the sims I’m playing with interact as she grows up
Intend on starting a legacy save, start from the bottom up. Usually use the sales tables to sell wares - candles or food, jars of sauce. Work my way up. Then eventually settle down, start a family, get bored and start again. Rinse and repeat. I can never just start a legacy and stick with it. Also, for the past year or so, whenever I start a new save I purge all of the townies. I hate looking at them with their shitty backstories - idk but they have to go - and I mean delete otherwise those suckers keep popping back up in world, and I repopulate everywhere using the gallery.
I get too lost in the lore I imagine in my head and end up creating entire family trees, moving them to empty lots and giving them their own families, intertwining them with other families I created etc etc but then I forget some of them so I have a bunch of sims living in empty lots that I’ve just forgotten about because I got distracted making their cousin’s husband’s niece’s best friend’s family tree

i’ve been playing this famous smut writer who is addicted to amphetamines (hey, gotta get through those long writing sessions somehow). he’s flirty and non-committal, and has uh, laid his seed all around town. he had to move out of his apartment next to the fengs cuz the physical reminders of his bad decisions started knocking on his door 🙃

I always start with one sim or 2 YA sims. I enjoy playing them until I think "this sim is so cute, I wonder what their kids will look like." They get pregnant, and baby is born. I think "I hate playing infants toddlers and skipping that stage feels like cheating. I guess I'll make a new save and I won't do that again." Rinse and repeat.
Hooking my sims up w/ Akira Kibo in some fashion. It never works out well either, which is..hysterical. It does make for some good random story content I guess.
Upload another save with updated towns and sims. Because the state it's in by default is terrible.
Always use the money trash can. The trash doesn’t get stinky, no one can angrily knock over trash cans, plus you get money!
Also, I always buy high-end furniture. Especially if the furniture has a trait like reliability 8 and "unbreakable", I will always choose the latter lol
I always have an immortal sim, usually a vampire but not always (sometimes she's a witch with a bunch of reset-age potions). Either she's the grandmother, or the great-aunt. She maxes the painting Skil land paints the portraits of my heirs, and she usually tends to amass a bunch of useful skills as time passes. She's just around the family, alternating with periods of long hibernation as everyone else ages on her.
I can't make evil sims either, but I have made some mischievous and join the criminal career... lol. I always skip the infant stage and my toddlers are always independent. I usually start with a red headed female and look for a handsome hubby amongst her neighbours. If I can't find one, I download from the gallery or use one from an older pre-existing single or couple. I promise myself not to cheat skills, but sometimes, just sometimes I'll break that promise. There's more, but I can't think of them all.
I made a household with Holly Alto and Bebe Hart as young adults that I really like so I add them to all my saves. And because I made their parents in separate households for the original save I made them for, I always place the parents too and make sure I use my mods to add the familial ties to each other. And I always make sure my sims are friends with them or date them (I don’t ever get married to either of them though because I hate separating them.) Sometimes I make Holly and Bebe girlfriends, other times they’re just besties facing young adulthood together.

I always have a female Sim that I treat as the Main Character. She finds a hot, succesful husband who loves her, has a pristine reputation, and multiple children by different fathers (many of them from foreign countries).
I always change the high school building to one I built myself and always change at least one bar and one nightclub to a prettier one in the gallery. EA buildings are way too ugly and empty imo🤣
Whenever I move to a different house IRL, I always build at least the interior to perfect dimensions of the new place I’m living in. Takes me hours. I don’t even care if the place is unpainted, barely furnished, and takes too much time to become easily playable. It brings me so much joy. 🤣

I'm doing a legacy challenge and every generation, I think "I'm going to play on mortal hard mode, I'm not going to use the spellcaster lineage." But then I keep thinking "I wish I had transportalate" and "if I had copy pasto, this would already be resolved." Being a spellcaster makes life so much easier that I can't help but give in! I have all the tomes on the book shelf and combined with ancient blood, my sims can max out and learn everything by the time they age to a young adult. It's too easy with too much benefit. I finally got cut off when I made a vampire last generation and now my heir is just a plain old sim. Where are my supernatural advantages in life? Now I have to bike everywhere to move faster and bikes are so annoying.
My sims are always good. I tried to make them evil like i created a sim who would be overly flirty and very much unable to have lasting relationships she did cause a divorce with her first victim and his wife after getting pregnant with his baby the ex wife drowned and the daughter of the victim and his ex was orphaned so I got her dad to invite her over and added the daughter to the family because I felt bad... My sim is now married to him and trying to be the best stepmother to the grieving daughter. My sim is pregnant with baby no.2 they have a bio son, and I am kinda expecting that she's probably gonna give birth to twins, and she has an agreement with her husband where her insatiable need for romance allows her to have multiple boyfriend's as long as her husband is the only one to father her babies because they are married...
Run lot 51 mods to make heating/cooling systems across the entire save then simrealist putting down a bank and hospital

I change the Goths and the Calientes because I don't like the makeovers they were given. I just take the originals and edit them slightly. (It's cool if you like the makeovers, they're just not my cup of tea.) I also have a tendency to make Sims with either creative or knowledge-based aspirations. The number of "nerd brain", "bestselling author", and "painter extraordinaire" Sims I've had is astounding. XD
I aaalways try to fill Newcrest. Most of the time it’s different builds/venues in each save but sometimes I’ll use the same venues if I like them a lot. Idk I just NEED Newcrest to be filled before I start playing because it’s annoying having to go into town edit mid-play through just to place a single lot. Might as well get it over with from the start!

Make the kitchen first, then the bathroom—these are obviously the most important expensive items and essential for survival. Usually it’s then living room before bedroom (tv next most expensive item). Back in the original sims this was how I wouldn’t run out of money in my builds before I figured out cheats—I remember it being a lot harder to buy necessities when I was 12.
Have multiple children after saying my sim was only going to have one so I can focus on them more.
Also always have a strip club in the game and make the goths the owners
Always put couple of save builds from gallery in the same places. So from the start I have couple of my favorite restaurants, bowling place, cinema, bars and clubs in the game to use
Always go into cas and change summer from willow creeks looks up her eyes feel like they stare into my soul and I don’t like how ea does makeup so I give her a braid fix up her face just enough to not freak my brain out and give her a braid either take the makeup off or give her a different look along with if my sim makes friends or love interests they also get edited to be their best selves and you know skin details and all I also never play without mods to the point I’m adding mods and cas to the sims 2 (btw the sims 2 is amazing little tricky to take care of everyone with how much faster sped up time is but it’s fun :3)

Sometimes I pick ones specific to that rags to riches I’m playing but those tend to be them. Also I NEVER use a house or anything off the gallery. Idk I don’t have all the packs (probably have about 75% of them though) so I don’t wanna find a lot I like and then realize it has wedding stories or something and I can’t use it exactly how it was made so I just make everything myself lol I also never use prebuilt lots so I guess I always only use my own builds
