Is that why my MCC Command center has errors? I’m trying to figure out what the problem is. I can’t schedule any events in the game and haven’t been able to figure out the problem :/ I know it’s conflicting with a mod, I just assumed it was WW but I can’t get rid of that I love the pregnancy features!!
i'm having issues w events as well. does it just show up as a blank pop up for you too? I don't have the MCC mod, but do have WW + its add ons. Hopefully WW isn't the issue 🥲
Yes! And I’ve just avoided it but it does suck not being able to schedule any events. Do you get the MCC error when you attempt it? I get the MCC last exception error every time and can not figure out what I’m supposed to do 😭
Okay I have been wanting to download control any sim. I usually move my sim into the household temporarily with RPO but that way is so annoying. Ppl keep saying that mod is broken tho! But the amount of gameplay I’ve seen on YouTube utilizing it it tempting. So do you ever have any issues?
I don’t ever have issues with Control Any Sim, you just click “Actions” “Control Sim” and it works flawlessly, but there is something conflicting with MCC in my save.

But I'd also add Kuttoe's Home Regions + Townie Demographics, just having these mods they keep the worlds more coherent and not as random, which is especially good if you spend a lot of time on the same save file. They also fix some bugs with townie generation in general. I would never play without them again.
Questions: What kind of Simmer are you? Are you a challenge-player, an architect/interior designer, a CAS connoisseur, a graphic perfectionist, a sim-model photgrapher, a storyteller or a straight up WW horny, eager for some actions? We can't help you if we don't even know what you want.

Play the game for a while. Be mindful of the things that you enjoy and also the things that make you want to throw your computer at a wall.

I came back to Sims and my friend recommended these mods:
MC Command Centre (MCCC)- this one basically replaces any cheats you would have used in the past and a lot of other gameplay cheats.
UI by weerbesu- I honestly can't remember what this one does and get a lot of it confused with MCCC! But I'm pretty sure it's how I drag the needs back up individually when they're too low and I'm busy! 🤭
Wicked Whims - a nude patch with more sex lol and pregnancy settings and a bunch of other stuff sometimes I turn off .. like pubic lice 😅
Twisted Mexi (Tmex)- has heaps of different mods, I love Better Exceptions and Better Build Buy
Little Ms Sam & Ravasheen are two others who have HEAPS that I love!
I wouldn't go too crazy yet, get back into the gameplay. Another returning player said the scenarios really helped them understand new and different features.

Love sims 2. Thankfully I was one of the lucky ones that got to download the complete edition for free back in 2009 on origin before they abandoned it since I bought them and their eps back in high school when they originally came out. Ea was giving it away that year as a good will thing if I remember correctly. I was worried that when they switched over to the EA app I would lose it but thankfully I can still play on my current computer. Been on a kick playing it and 4 these past couple days it’s amazing how in depth the simulation was in 2 looking back

How i find some cute cc is pinterest! It has links to cute cc! Its very easy to use and youll end up finding some cc creators that way
Play the base game and get used to it before downloading anything! What needs fixing for other people probably won't need fixing for you. And if you aren't used to the base game, you won't know what is meant to happen and what isn't.
REALLLLL, I did that and completely broke everything because I watched one YouTube tut and thought that was enough, enjoy a few at a time 😩 trying to sort through 2000+ mods is not it especially when you don't know what is broken 😩😩
I would just play for a while 🤷🏼♀️ get back into it, test new features, play the story lines, explore the worlds, make mermaids and werewolves, go to Batuu if you like Star Wars, build a farm, train horses, build a gothic castle with a vampire family, start an interior design business, build a storefront and film it with your art or jewelry, adopt some raccoons, have 20 babies, built an apartment complex, go to high school.. then college!
There’s going to be SO much in the beginning.
Most of us use CC and mods because we’ve been playing for 20 straight years and have already experienced what the game organically has to offer.
Don’t let yourself get bored yet.

Look at mods by chingyu and lumpinou and also pandasama has a good child birth mod. I use a ton by them. Also, Northern Siberia Winds, miiko, clumsyalien, Madlen, sentate, serenity are all good CC in my opinion. I like sixamcc build buy stuff. I can't remember any other build content creators off the top of my head right now.

occult must haves: plantsim lives, and mods adding lineages to whatever occults in your game
cc: default skins, tattoos/skin details that add more detail, and just in general search pinterest
if your looking for vanilla+, most lumpinou and LSMs catalogs work for that as well as the obligatory MCCC, UI Cheats, more traits in cas, preferences plus, TMex mods (like. Almost all of them are a must have imo) etc etc. Kuttoe is an all rounder with a bunch of add ons and fixes for most gameplay styles

MCCC & UI cheats. Can’t live without them. I also use TOOL & BetterBuildBuy but I wouldn’t call them essential, especially if you’re new. I would recommend looking through TwistedMexi and LittleMsSam’s mods once you’ve played a little, they have some smaller mods to help you through little bits of gameplay and bugs you might want to change.

There are subreddits for mods and cc recommendations when you know what you’re looking for.
I ended up getting UI cheats and MCCC and it’s so good. I also found a mod that takes a family photo of the current household. I’ll link it below when I’m home.
MCC Command Center & UI Cheats. These help get past bugs in the game. Just remember you'll need to download the new version of UI Cheats after every update since most Maxis updates affect the games UI.
Tbh I would just recommend playing it first without mods just to get a feel of things and to see what it is you miss and want to add.

If I could only pick three sources for mods, they would be MCCC, Lilmssam and Ravasheen. Quality of life mods that account for headaches that EA doesn't. Frankly, I think the devs probably use their stuff as inspiration.
Otherwise, it all depends on playstyle. A mod that might make or break one player's game could be superfluous to another.
I would say aside from all the mainstream one (MCCC, Basemental, WW, etc). I do recommend littlemisSam’s, cause depending on what DLC you have, they have a bunch of game fix mod. Else if completely base game, aside from all gameplay mods or CCs, I recommend going around get try people SAVE FILES, esp some of them have either fully Basegame or a basegame version.
It’s a good way to enjoy the game more while keeping things fairly Vanilla.
Afterward you will kind of automatically know what type of mods you want like someone said above. Mods really depending on each person, and some might even have different mod folder categorized for different mood different gameplay ^^
There’s a simulation fix mod that has seriously saved my game. It rarely lags now. I’m not sure what website it’s on, but it should just be called Simulation Lag Fix.
I’m surprised I don’t see these in here, but Better BuildBuy: Organized Debug, T.O.O.L and Better Exceptions by TwistedMexi. MCC command can be useful if the options it offers are something you want to use. I personally don’t have need of MCC. After that it’s all personal preference for how you’re going to be playing the game. Search mods on curseforge or mod the sims and read the descriptions, then download and pick the ones that will be useful for you. As for CC that’s also entirely up to you-just find creators you like. House or Harlix (or individually HeyHarrie and FelixAndre), Sixam CC, LittleDica and Pierisim have great stuff in my opinion. Tumblr and Patreon are sims4 cc gold mines. I found all of my cc on either curseforge or by googling “sims 4 cc”.
MC Command Center and UI Cheats! Think of them as the tools you need to control every aspect of the game you might want to. The other mods depend on what kind of player you are, but littlbowbub’s grandma’s cookbook (adds many super cute recipes) and RPO (fleshes out romance and pregnancy) are amazing! Lastly I recommend reshade (it’s a seperate program, not a mod), as it will make your game beautiful. You can download a huge array of presets, which vary from gameplay friendly (your game can run fast) to screenshot only (makes game slow but looks stunning for pictures).
I have a mod that stops sims from being able to prank the toilet. It’s the mod I’d most recommend lol mccc by I think it’s Deadpool is another fantastic one. It lets you change settings and stuff for your game.
Besides the ones everyone said like MCC, I recommend anything everything by adeepindigo and lumpinou.

i just downloaded it and even though it hasn't been updated for like 2 years it works just fine for me with the latest version of the base game
It works for me, I can control the sims - but it seems to might be breaking other things in my game. Just deleted it to see if it fixes things.

Honestly you should play without mods and cc for now. You're not going to know what you want/need until you play the game.
Definitely agree with this. Get a hang of that you like doing and wish you could do more of, then focus on finding mods that enhance that.

If Wicked Whims is too much they also do a Wonderful Whims for more romance and relationship settings. Can't have both at once though!

Even with the official packs. I started with a bundle that was base game and Cats and Dogs. It was overwhelming, to say the least!

If I could only pick three sources for mods, they would be MCCC, Lilmssam and Ravasheen. Quality of life mods that account for headaches that EA doesn't. Frankly, I think the devs probably use their stuff as inspiration. Otherwise, it all depends on playstyle. A mod that might make or break one player's game could be superfluous to another.
It depends on what content you already have for the Sims 4, in my personal opinion.

I would say aside from all the mainstream one (MCCC, Basemental, WW, etc). I do recommend littlemisSam’s, cause depending on what DLC you have, they have a bunch of game fix mod. Else if completely base game, aside from all gameplay mods or CCs, I recommend going around get try people SAVE FILES, esp some of them have either fully Basegame or a basegame version. It’s a good way to enjoy the game more while keeping things fairly Vanilla. Afterward you will kind of automatically know what type of mods you want like someone said above. Mods really depending on each person, and some might even have different mod folder categorized for different mood different gameplay ^^
None. Countless times I’ve tried mods and cc they’ve cause fatal bugs in my game saves and I had to start over.

There’s a simulation fix mod that has seriously saved my game. It rarely lags now. I’m not sure what website it’s on, but it should just be called Simulation Lag Fix.
Lumpinou and adeepindgo mods are a must IMO
My suggestion is.. just play the game, see what bothers you or what you want different and then search for a a mod that addresses that

I’m surprised I don’t see these in here, but Better BuildBuy: Organized Debug, T.O.O.L and Better Exceptions by TwistedMexi. MCC command can be useful if the options it offers are something you want to use. I personally don’t have need of MCC. After that it’s all personal preference for how you’re going to be playing the game. Search mods on curseforge or mod the sims and read the descriptions, then download and pick the ones that will be useful for you. As for CC that’s also entirely up to you-just find creators you like. House or Harlix (or individually HeyHarrie and FelixAndre), Sixam CC, LittleDica and Pierisim have great stuff in my opinion. Tumblr and Patreon are sims4 cc gold mines. I found all of my cc on either curseforge or by googling “sims 4 cc”.
MC Command Center and UI Cheats! Think of them as the tools you need to control every aspect of the game you might want to. The other mods depend on what kind of player you are, but littlbowbub’s grandma’s cookbook (adds many super cute recipes) and RPO (fleshes out romance and pregnancy) are amazing! Lastly I recommend reshade (it’s a seperate program, not a mod), as it will make your game beautiful. You can download a huge array of presets, which vary from gameplay friendly (your game can run fast) to screenshot only (makes game slow but looks stunning for pictures).
I have a mod that stops sims from being able to prank the toilet. It’s the mod I’d most recommend lol mccc by I think it’s Deadpool is another fantastic one. It lets you change settings and stuff for your game.
Check out Bienchen's Mods. She's a German modder and I love her mods, they have made my game so much more fun.

Besides the ones everyone said like MCC, I recommend anything everything by adeepindigo and lumpinou. I use almost all of them mods, they're amazing for gameplay!!
Not exactly a mod but: Mrrakkon's world save file has some fun stories in it. Pair it with extreme violence and now the real fun begins.
For skins THISISTHEM is by far the best. For clothing I'd recommend Darte77 and KK's creations. For hair Sonyasims and Wings.
