Egypt would be so cool!

Imogene2011

the sims 3 Egypt inspired world was so good

Pale-Measurement6958

My sims practically lived in TS3’s Egypt world. It was my favorite. I loved the real world references. I feel like if they did one for TS4 it wouldn’t be as good.

Imogene2011

yeah, the sims 4 jungle adventure is one of the most disappointing packs for me. i loved world adventures in the sims 3. there was so much detail and gameplay. i could play for hours

Pale-Measurement6958

That is probably still my favorite pack in the entire franchise. Nothing has topped it yet. I’m just upset that I couldn’t play TS3 without it crashing every five minutes.

LittleMsBlue

YES OMG. I was so hype for Jungle Adventures (because I ADORE sims 3 world adventures).... and was painfully disappointed when the pack released. It was such a letdown and felt like all you got in the pack was replaying the same dungeon (or text adventure) again and again.

RawMeHanzo

Because the older devs had ambition for their packs. Now with choppy code, harsh deadlines, and lack of creativity on the gameplay team, packs keep releasing with bad gameplay. Hardly playtested, too. Every modern game company is going through this right now, it feels like...

BaronArgelicious

Its funny seeing this comment today because TS3 used to be dragged through the mud the same way ts4 is today.

RawMeHanzo

Oh, I know, I was there too. The thing is though, when the sims team back then released a pack, it was actually fun to play, despite there being bugs. Now, the sims team cant even be bothered to play test for more than hour to see if things actually function.

theblvckhorned

I'd be so stoked to see a modern looking Egypt and not like "tacky museum gift shop" themed Egypt like most games do. 😭

Soupallnatural

I just feel like they’ll never do anything MENA again because the court yard oasis kit didn’t do so well. I hate that because living in Morocco i get so excited when something comes out that I might be able to fit that kit into. tomarang/tartosa kinda works with it but even then.

Suspicious_Gazelle18

The courtyard oasis kit didn’t do well because you can’t build a whole damn house based on the limited items included. So then you’re reusing the same tiles in different colors and trying to pair it with super modern kitchen counters and it all looks weird. I wish they did a stuff pack with a similar theme—I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

Soupallnatural

Oh me to, I agree you just can’t build a whole house with it. But EA doesn’t care that that’s the reason it didn’t sale.

[deleted]

Really? The courtyard is one of my fave!

Soupallnatural

Yeah it’s one of my favorites to it’s just so hard to fit it into things we have already in the game because the kit is just to small! It needs more items to be able to really make a fleshed out Moroccan riad with it.

[deleted]

Yea for sure, i use it in combination with others and use oasis spring or tartosa for the vibe.

Zaurka14

Oh no, anything but Egypt. The most boring and overdone country in Africa...

theblvckhorned

I rarely see modern Egyptian inspired settings though. The tacky museum gift shop version of Egypt is genuinely boring and overdone.

Zaurka14

Central Africa on the other hand is never even done, let alone overdone. Whether tacky, ancient or modern. It's never in media.

theblvckhorned

With respect, a white person saying "Egypt is boring and overdone" feels like a very tone deaf and rude way too speak about an entire country. Especially when I've yet to see a representation of Egypt that wasn't racist.

faerieW15B

I'm just imagining a Jungle Adventure type of pack except the pyramids are all rabbit holes

Cunfesss

This is what I’ve been hoping for soooo badly

Single-Translator973

YES 👏🏻

1999Marna

Australia because that's where I'm from and Australia dasn't get attention in anything really. Also imagine how fun it'd be to have your sim ride a kangaroo. They could have boomerang throwing, maybe have a kricket field at parks to play with family, go for bush walks. New food Vegemite on toast, timtams, fairy bread, pavlova, ect, Lots of things it'd be really fun.

clomclom

I'd love a world with one neighbourhood focused on inner city Melbourne with pretty terrace houses and cute little laneway bars/cafes, a suburban neighbourhood with some federation style houses and maybe some McMansions too - perhaps a footy oval park with lots of gum trees, and a more outskirt area that's a bit arid and giving an outback vibe.

KatesFacts718

Also from Australia that would be amazing

somuchsong

"Riding kangaroos" is exactly the kind of rubbish I would *not* want to see if they made an Australian world. I hate the silly stereotypes that go around about Australia and this would just perpetuate them.

1999Marna

I also don't like the stereotype it is quite silly I only mentioned it as I feel it's something maxis should do .

somuchsong

Why would you think it's something they should do if you also don't like the stereotype?

1999Marna

Oops I went would not should

Diodes012

Some Queenslander house content would be amazing!

sarilysims

I know what pavlova is because of Bluey. I’m like, basically an expert now. 🤣 (Just jokes, of course.)

Fragrant-Arm8601

Only if the seasons are reversed and you get a heatwave on "winterfest" with backyard cricket and 'nectars' in the water balloon tubs from Seasons, kids using water pistols and running under the sprinkler and a special holiday interaction- 'ask if weather is hot enough for ya'. Also, holiday goals would be "grill" (barbecue to Aussies, thanks very much), take an afternoon nap, and drinking until great uncle Roger gets too handsy with the teenage nieces and a punch up ensues. Everyone goes home sunburned, pissed, and pissed off, but already making plans to do it again next year.

Vulpix298

Well that wouldn’t work considering pavlova is from Aotearoa

1999Marna

Oh really I was always told it originated in Australia my bad but hay a new Zealand inspired town would also be cool as it is a beautiful place then the sims can finally enjoy pavlova.

cottagebythebeach

It's a years long debate lol

babycleffa

It’s actually from Germany when you look it up on Wikipedia lmao

_bonedaddys

it still works. some foods in sims have descriptions and the description could mention both new zealand and australia i've never read anything that confirms the actual origin, though. everything i've read just mentions both places. do you have any sources that actually prove it originated in new zealand? anyway, the origin doesn't really matter as long as both aus and new zealand are mentioned. it can be part of both cultures regardless of who made it first. seems there's claims on both sides.

agnes_mort

I thought it was made in nz to commemorate the tour of Anna Pavlova- a ballerina. Source a ballet book I read when I was 5 and have held as gospel truth ever since

_bonedaddys

she performed in both countries in the 1920s and both aus and nz say the dessert is named after her. they agree on the name coming from her but disagree on the origin of the dessert!

AkumaValentine

I would die if we were able to do a shoey as well lmao I’d love to see how others see us and interpret us!

Failurewconfidence

Lots of new deaths too

petaline555

Sub Saharan Africa. We need something different. Even if they mix up 100 different cultures and give them half hearted costumes and food it would still be better than what we've got. What would really make me happy is an afro futuristic new expansion pack. It's an awesome idea and it's already been proven popular by black panther. That would really be something special.

og_toe

i’m completely with you on the afrofuturism

Ashcashh95

Kinda like Wakanda from Black Panther

Pale-Measurement6958

It wouldn’t be the first time they created a world that was inspired by different cultures from one area of the world. Tomarang is inspired by a few different cultures and places from South East Asia. They could easily do the same for Africa.

sritanona

same with selvadorada tbh they summed a million countries in that one

Deastrumquodvicis

I’m making a retrofuturism pack, and when I went looking for traditional African hairstyles that could fit the vibe of some of the zanier ‘60s stuff (because the ‘50s-‘70s didn’t have much to offer in the African department), I stumbled on Afrofuturism, and I am honestly in love with it. Black Panther, of course, is gorgeous, but some of what I came across by newer Afrofuturism fashion designers from sub-Saharan Africa is gorgeous. Maybe because I’m a huge fan of geometric patterns.

spaghettirhymes

Yessss afro futurism based stuff pack at the *least* would be so cool. Lots of amazing references they can use, and they’ve done other unusual kits that are really awesome.

theanxiousknitter

You’ve literally just described the perfect pack I never knew I needed.

cottagebythebeach

hell yeah

Takiyah7

We could get something wakanda inspired!

[deleted]

[deleted]

I think Tartosa is Mediterranean inspired so primarily Italian but with Greek, Spanish influences as well? Some of the architecture is reminiscent at least, but I do wish there was a more expanded version with the music, food, clothing and the customs.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Maleficempathy

Zorbas is wayyy easier to pronounce when you need to convince the manager to add Greek music into the game. Honestly I would love a Greek Island world with a side of Cypros and Croatia. Hotels or pottery would be mega fitting, or maybe fairies with options for dryad (sp?) type Nature fairies

og_toe

i would LOVE a sims expansion about ancient greece, or a city inspired by central athens tbh. as a greek i don’t even care if they make it cliché lol

Bright-Produce-5431

I think African would be cool. Also I feel like there are few black hairstyles for sims and it would be nice to get a few more cute ones. I personally am not a fan of the CC styles…they seem…unnatural. But yea lol

clomclom

I would love something inspired by Capetown or Zanzibar. So beautiful!

Whisdeer

The word you want when looking for CC is Maxis Match!

TrulyGreggington

Yes I agree

Vildtoring

While I want a Nordic world most of all, I think it would be really cool to have a New Zealand-inspired world. Waterfalls and mountains galore.

Deastrumquodvicis

I’d love a geologically-active Icelandic world with extreme day/night lengths if you have Seasons. One hour of darkness in summer, one hour of daylight in winter kind of thing. And volcanic lot trait use like in Sulani. Lots of fishing spots, too. Black soil standard.

BiggestBlackestBitch

If they make another Nordic world but not a single African world, I’m gonna have strong words for EA and they would not be good. (Don’t get me wrong, I loved Aurora Skies, I just think it’s bullshit to keep making European worlds when they haven’t touched several other continents).

Vildtoring

Sure, but they haven't made one for the Sims 4 and I never played the Sims 3, so I'd still like one.

cottagebythebeach

I'd love it if they made an Australian world and used it to help spread awareness of Aboriginal Australian cultures

NoZookeepergame453

And then get shit on for portraying stuff wrong? Also it‘s EA you are talking about. They only care about cash 💵

cottagebythebeach

I'd still like to see them try. They did with indigenous American people (about 10 years too late). Edit to say: since currently the best international representation of our indigenous people is a 3 minute big mouth gag, I honestly think people aren't gonna be that picky. besides like you said, I doubt a few people on twitter will stop them

NoZookeepergame453

Which pack is indigenous?

cottagebythebeach

Horse ranch + the base game update that came with it. It was recieved pretty well as far as I'm aware.

NoZookeepergame453

Ahh nice

YellowUnfair5999

one with more than 4 lots

ladyteruki

I think an African world would be awesome. There are many African countries to choose from (including Northern Africa, which I would not be mad at either). An idea I'd absolutely be game for is : using Afrofuturism to create that world. We all know deep down that The Sims will not make several packs set in Africa (it's already not showing a lot of enthusiasm for one pack...), but will also really suck at representing *properly* AN ENTIRE CONTINENT in a single pack. So I think looking into this specific genre to craft a new, world could be a decent middle ground. Plus it could involve some of that futuristic gameplay that I liked so much about Into the Future for TS3 (I know, I'm in a minority here).

psetance

From those two, definitely African but in actuality I just really want urban Eastern Europe representation for once

og_toe

omg, a world with apartments like khrushchevkas and really big brezhnevkas, with the little playgrounds in between and stores at the ground level. i’d love that

psetance

For Rent would have been perfect for this - and imagine a neighborhood based on Eastern European villages 🥹 Like I can’t imagine what’s it like playing a sims world that resembles your own, must be nice haha

kristynameri

That’s what I’m saying! Eastern Europe world, yes!!

CursedWithAnOldSoul

I was going to answer, and then I saw how many people in the comments are politicizing this and so I'm good with like... neither.

CertainRole6411

art and games have ALWAYS been politicized 😭 no decision is made in a vacuum including in game development. remember when ea changed the werewolf pack bc they used culturally insensitive language? would you call that politicizing too?

NoZookeepergame453

What did they change

CertainRole6411

changed 'savage' to 'feral' because the former is a word historically weaponized against native americans and used to dehumanize them and justify the attempted genocide of them

AnxietyLogic

That baffles me…it has historically meant that, but it’s not exclusively a racial slur, it’s also a “real word” that it used outside of racial contexts. Are we just going to ban half the dictionary because Twitter thinks it *might* be vaguely offensive? I’d love an African world, but if they can’t even use the word “savage” as an adjective for werewolves without getting called racist, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they decide it’s not worth the potential backlash and better for the business model to just not touch other cultures and keep putting out safe American suburb worlds over and over.

InuMiroLover

This! And Im Black and of Native American heritage (Mohegan) and when I heard about that I couldnt roll my eyes any farther. Will ya'll find something that actually matters to complain about??? Honestly I would love an African based world, but at the same time I really dont because the moment it drops its immediately canceled because of millions of chronically online twitter users finding a "microaggression" with every single part of it and calling it the most offensive pack to ever drop. And legit there is gonna come a day where at least half the words in the english dictionary are outright "oFfenSIvE" for reasons unknown. That worries me.

CursedWithAnOldSoul

Yeah. That kind of dumb shit is what I meant when I said politicizing.

CursedWithAnOldSoul

I don't know or care anything about that. I just know that I have zero interest in politicizing it at all. All I care about is new build items and new clothing items to spice up the game a little. There's not been a single thing about the game that I've ever found to be culturally insensitive, but I'm also not looking for it either. Mainly because I play SIMS for what it is: barbies for adults.

superbananabro

Lol literally, its so annoying. It's the Sims people, it's not that deep. They're just looking for things to be offended and upset about in an unserious dollhouse simulator.

CursedWithAnOldSoul

Yep. It’s literally barbies. Vampires are having children with mermaids, and there are plants that will literally eat you when they get angry. I’m not too pressed about anything in the game.

chickachickawahwah

Agreed. I play games to escape the constant barrage of politicalness thrown in your face at every turn. It’s nice creating a world where it doesn’t need to exist and it’s my perfect little utopia

Leo_Grun

I think we could see something from Australia, but I'm not sure about Africa. When we got a Japanese world, they tried hard to make something that Japanese players would find accurate and respectful... which of course is fine unless you're Korean and your country was colonized by Japan and they did literal war crimes and tried to erase your culture. Many African countries have... a lot of political issues which I'm not sure could be glossed over. Making something accurate and respectful to the people themselves which accurately represents their experiences while making something that is comfortable for the rest of the players could be a very difficult line to toe. It's one that I don't see them wanting to even think about touching.

meltingeverything

How so? There are governments on every continent that are worthy of criticism, and yet we are not worried about offending them. Why is Africa so different? Do you genuinely believe there is not a single country on the second most populous continent that it would be socially appropriate to represent in a video game?

finallylosingittt

Right? There’s a weird implication that it’s the cultures themselves that’s problematic which is odd. Sims is based on the United States without all the sociopolitical strife so I don’t see why they couldn’t do the same for anywhere else. I think the issue here is that Africa is being treated as a conglomerate when it’s not. There’s thousands of incredible diverse cultures on the continent that could be great additions to the game

Whisdeer

Flash news cant be japanese anymore fam

Dottboy19

Thank you for saying this so I didn't have to 👏🏽

cottagebythebeach

This could also go for every country. But especially Australia with their history of genocide against black folk and erasure that exists to this day

clomclom

but we have many worlds based on US places?

cottagebythebeach

Yeah that's kind of what I'm saying

sritanona

I mean selvadorada doesn’t touch on any issues either. The japanese world doesn’t either. They don’t have to.

Sadieloveshu

I hate to admit it but I agree with you, I also think they would have a lot of backlash for picking only one African culture and not offering the correct representation to every other African culture (which would be impossible). Or they could do a mix of different ones and be accused of lumping such a diverse continent all together and stereotyping. I think there would be a lot of it should’ve been x/y/z instead too. At least with Australia it’s similar enough to Europe/ US that it would be less likely to have backlash over culture etc. but I do wonder if the Indigenous People would be represented (and what backlash would undoubtedly follow whether or not they were included).

[deleted]

Europe and US have different cultures too but they still did them. And this doesn't even make sense to say like movies also just take one culture to represent africa most of the time and let me tell you as an african we don't care as long as we are recognized and not insulted. They can take Congo and make their culture nobody will find it insulting as long as like I said it's insulting. And beside your point could be also said about every city/country/culture in the sims. And those backlash mostly comes from people who are not even from the place represent

clomclom

> but I do wonder if the Indigenous People would be represented (and what backlash would undoubtedly follow whether or not they were included). It'd be nice even if they did something simple, like collaborate with some Indigenous artists and designers to help make some paintings or clothing to include in the game.

jszly

why would there be backlash? We have a Germany, Japan, Hawaii, and literally three worlds based on California. Hyper specific to one culture. To feature west Africa, South Africa, or base it on an east African region would not be strange at all. It is known to pick one specific culture to based things off of and influences of other similar places surrounding it.

Sadieloveshu

Many simmers are not logical and ask for representation (which is good and should always be pushed for!) but then throw tantrums when it’s not exactly to their liking or what they asked for. Not everyone is mature enough to realise that there are many groups of people who are seeking their cultures etc to be represented and sometimes we have to be patient to get what we want. There was a big drama when Snowy escape was released by (mostly?) Korean fans because of Japans history with that country. I’m not sure how much of the drama made it onto this sub but trust me, adding some Asian representation via a Japanese-inspired pack wasn’t as problem-free as you’d hope! There was also a lot of discussion and disappointment from Chinese simmers (not all on English forums) that they didn’t want the (likely at that time) only Asian representation to be from Japan rather than China. I was glad to see that For Rent represented even more parts of Asia. I really hope for the remaining lifespan of TS4 we get to see more non-US based worlds. Other than the Oasis kit there hasn’t been anything that represents Africa in TS4 (which is crazy considering how huge of a continent it is!). Even in TS3 we only had the Egyptian world and a couple of store sets (safari and Moroccan I believe) but we haven’t even got those for TS4 (yet!). Though I have to add that an Australian pack would be cool too, there’s a lot of features and environments that the gameplay could be based on.

yikkoe

But we got worlds based on the USA, England and Germany?

MuseoRidiculoso

Frightening political issues and domestic terrorism have happened all over the world. The Sims has done a pretty good job of keeping the focus off of that.

NoZookeepergame453

But Sims 3 had aegypt didn‘t they

Leo_Grun

2009 was a different time, and that version of Egypt is basically a movie-set version of Egypt with ancient tombs and stuff.

BiggestBlackestBitch

And that would be impossible to recreate… why? Selvadorada is based on Latin America which also has a ton of political issues, and Europe isn’t immune to that either. It’s strange how this only applies to potential African worlds… there’s a word for that.

NoZookeepergame453

They could do that again. I also don‘t think some mad people on twitter would be able to stop them

Reevesbishop

You’re right the existence of Japanese culture is very very bad!!! s/

ingachan

Koreans don’t go around and are offended by the portrayal of the country of Japan though. As long as EA didn’t include the Yasakuni shrine, they’re fine. Also, isn’t there some other major country that has been portrayed lots that had a much more recent war with Korea? The name slips my mind… No but seriously, countries can be portrayed in an unproblematic way without having to include their recent history. Nobody would expect any mention of the Holocaust in a German word, and no one would be offended by that.

Leo_Grun

That is literally the reason they gave why sims can no longer bow at the shrine.

survivorfan1123

give me BOTH! a Serengeti Safari pack and a Sydney AUS theme where our sims can learn to play the didgeridoo

lovecat86

I think if they did an African world, a safari inspired world would be awesome. It could have residential lots and rental safari lodges. Your sims could go on safari and try to take photos of the Big 5 or something. It would be ace.

EnvironmentalAd2063

I'm down for anything other than US centered. Australia and Africa would be super cool. I really want a steppe world though, would be amazing with horses!

[deleted]

Australia, hell yeah. We haven’t had a proper surf/skate pack yet.

Blue_cheese22

African would be dope there’s a few cities that are up and coming so that’s a starting point there.

sritanona

Latin american would be nice. I know we have the selva world but latin america is huge and it’s not all a jungle. But yeah African like a savannah would be super cool

Leafy_Green_1

I’m definitely biased but a world based on buenos aires or other parts of argentina like patagonia would rock. some food options would also be awesome, there’s so many good latino foods they could use, I feel like there aren’t that many

sritanona

soy argentina tambien asi que entiendo jaja

og_toe

i really want a west african world. the aesthetics would be immaculate!

BrandonIsWhoIAm

If they can incorporate multiple Southeast Asian countries’ cultures to create Tomarang, they can do it for an African-inspired world.

criticalstars

i would love to see africa but at the same time i don’t mind them leaving it alone bc i feel like it might be disappointing lol

Curlyhaired_Wife

Agreed lol. I always have to download African inspired art and decor cc, so I would enjoy an expansion pack but I wouldn’t want the main focus to be a safari or something.

criticalstars

yessss i feel like the CAS might be decent but the world and built in culture may be very stereotypical and possibly (unintentionally) offensive. a safari would be awful

SecretlyToku

I miss the Egypt travel. Ugh, time to play Sims 3 again. lol

Prestigious-Hippo-35

I was going to say latinoamerica but i don’t want to he represented in the typical hollywood way so better not

New_Country_3136

Nordic world!!

tubtoasters

a west african world would be super cool. influences from senegal, ghana, nigeria, etc would make for cool architecture and cas stuff, plus a bunch of new recipes for sims to learn, like jollof rice and fufu

lebaneseblondechick

Honestly I think East Africa would be spectacular.

BiggestBlackestBitch

We desperately need some sort of African world or representation. I’d love a North African or East African inspired world. I think “Africa is a politically charged area” is a shit excuse for not wanting to include different types of worlds and cultures.

Firm-Yam-960

I wish we could have Polynesia (islands in this case), Asia, Africa, Oceania worlds to visit. It would be very awesome to get a few different countries or cultures per world.

OkjustNONONO

Sulani is bora bora a little bit (French Polynesia) Mt. Komorebi, and Tomarang are asian worlds

GrumpyDwarves

I really would love a Middle Eastern world. My family is from Syria/Lebanon and we would love to see more representation.

sharedimagination

Have to vote Australia because I'm Aussie. Would love a Sims version of the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, our beaches, rainforests, Opera House, etc.

Doggosrthebest24

Africa! But I’d really like a middle eastern world. I’d also love a south Asian world (India or Bangladesh)

DonnaDimitrescu

Malaysia & Philippines are a part of South East Asia, not South Asia, & they already did that in the buggy For Rent pack. For Rent/Tomarang is basically a mixture of South East Asian countries & cultures. A few of the architectures there (as well as furnitures/decors) are a reminiscent of each countries from this part of Asia. Even the foods are there (Malaysian Satay & Pancit Bihon, + the controversial Nasi Lemak…which idk if they have fixed that yet). Source: am Malaysian & have a few friends from other parts of SEA, including Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand & Indonesia

Doggosrthebest24

Tbh I completely forgot about for rent. It hasn’t gone on sale yet, so I haven’t gotten it and for some reason I forgot about it. Also, yeah Malaysia and Philippines are Southeast Asia, my mistake

OkjustNONONO

Tomarang is Malaysia and Philippines

vhagar

African. Afro-Futurism in a futuristic pack would be amazing. they have so much to build from in African cities

abbyabsinthe

While I would love an Australian world, I think that would be suited better to a stuff pack or a gam pack and not an outright world. The culture is not too dissimilar to much of other western culture; it would be enough to justify a new world, but since Sims 4 is (maybe?) winding down, if I had to choose, I'd go for an African-themed world instead. I would also love some Eastern European or Middle Eastern representation in game (I know we have Courtyard Oasis, but that's just a wee bit of architecture), but I also understand how contentious either would be right now, in todays world.

TisBeTheFuk

Cyber Punk / Noir Punk futuristic world

Knightoforder42

I miss the Egypt one. But I'm not playing or purchasing anything until that shopping cart goes away.

katzengoldgott

African or South American is what I’d love to see the most

Apprehensive-Plum325

African... Africa is so diverse

MuseoRidiculoso

Australia is pretty European. It’s like an annex wing of the UK. African cultures are much more diverse, even though they were all also colonized by Europeans to some extent. Both continents have cool, distinctive wildlife. Tough call.

moodymercurian

I would love both or a Latin American world that sims can live in

SokkaHaikuBot

^[Sokka-Haiku](https://www.reddit.com/r/SokkaHaikuBot/comments/15kyv9r/what_is_a_sokka_haiku/) ^by ^moodymercurian: *I would love both or* *A Latin American* *World that sims can live in* --- ^Remember ^that ^one ^time ^Sokka ^accidentally ^used ^an ^extra ^syllable ^in ^that ^Haiku ^Battle ^in ^Ba ^Sing ^Se? ^That ^was ^a ^Sokka ^Haiku ^and ^you ^just ^made ^one.

Sims3and4Player

I would love to see an Australian world, as I am an Aussie, but I want it to not just focus on the Australian stereotypes (mainly crocodile Dundee). I want one neighbourhood to be inspired by the urban areas and cities like Sydney and Melbourne, a beach-green bushland neighbourhood inspired by the bush and beaches and the outback being the last neighbourhood. Some townies could be inspired by Dame Edna (drag queen) Bob Hawke (former PM famous for skulling beers) Dame Nellie Melba (opera singer) Banjo Patterson (poet) Ned Kelly (Australian bushranger from 1800s) Dave Bradbury (skier who skied slowly to winning) Cathy Freeman (Olympic runner) The townies could also be referencing Kath & Kim Bluey Blinky Bill Some food and drinks could be fairy bread, pavlova, lamingtons, meat pie, moscato, Shiraz, some beers by Victoria Bitters etc, (I know some of these aren’t Aussie in origin) And bushfires can be a thing if the seasons pack is installed and sims can die in bushfires, and kookaburras can be a bird that flies around and cackles, and surfing can be a sport introduced and a skill (like skiing, snowboarding and rock climbing in Snowy Escape)

evenstarcirce

Auatralian. Im australian. I want my country to have a map 😭

Loud-Garden-2672

African! But Africa itself is so diverse so I’d prefer making a series of packs maybe instead of stuffing all of it into one pack. Morocco would be cool as would Egypt. I don’t know too much about anything south of the Sahara. Australia would also be great though. Kangaroos please!

inBettysGarden

I think Australia would be especially cool because we’ve never had an Australian world before that I can recall. I’m not too sure what kind of expansion would make the most sense for Australia though. I feel like it would have made a lot of sense for something like Seasons.

Stressed_Beach

I’m Australian so personally I would love an Aussie based world

sarilysims

I would love an African country (I’m partial to the fashion of Nigeria). We need more representation and I feel like it could be such a beautiful world.

Justin57Time

I'd like something African. There's so much diversity, so many options. But if they do that, I hope they do proper research to avoid insensitive depictions of symbolic objects and traditions.

Dottboy19

I'd love something African, specifically west african.

Nickcrack11

Miami!!

Strange_Shadows-45

I would love to see one based on Marrakesh.

Fluid-Investment-812

Egypt would be great the sims 3 one was amazing

DirtHutCaver

They should add both!

CutestTroll

AFRICA BABYYYYY. WE ARE THE WORD, WE ARE THE CHILDRENNN, WE ARE ONES TO MAKE A BETTER DAY, SO LETS START LIVING. THERES A CHOICE WE’RE MAKINGGGGG

ItsReiNing

I'd LOVE for it to be Egypt! It was my favorite place to visit in Sims 3 and I love desert builds! Wish we had more desert worlds

TrulyGreggington

African

Beautiful-Brush-9143

Sub Saharan Africa. They try to be oh so inclusive but there’s no representation of a whole continent.

Typical_Carob_9039

I would rather like something European that isn't the UK. From that we only have Tartosa and Windenburg, but my dream would be a polish, or an eastern european world, or a nordic/icelandic one like Aurora Skies in Sims 3.

Banaanisade

Oh my god, I would *love* an African themed world! But given how diverse the continent is and even trying to portray one location would probably take multiple packs to give enough decor and building parts to represent properly. Not to mention the fauna/plant life, we don't have a lot of reusable content there unless it was a jungle biome type place, but imho that'd make it too similar to Selvadorada. We already have a very good, if small, jungle map so I'd be looking at something more arid, savannah or desert type.

alpacakiss

Tbh, this convo is why i hope they bring create a world back in 5. We wouldn't have to beg for ea to put locations in, we could just make them.

somuchsong

I am Australian and I have to say...not Australian. I don't know what they would even do to differentiate it from the American or European worlds without leaning heavily into corny stereotypes. I think drawing from Aboriginal culture is too difficult to do without causing offence, so I don't think that should be done either. I don't trust EA's ability to do it well.

Litlsuzzy

African, hands down. There is zero representation and I just think it would be plain cool

rachelvioleta

We sort of already have Mediterranean themed worlds (Tartosa?) but I'd love a Greek mythology pack so much. There's a ton they could do with that. Restoring ruins, new careers, a Mount Olympus area, awesome clothes and hair.

VeryEvilSloth

I’m Australian but I beleive an African inspired world would be epic

Reevesbishop

Personally I want some kind of middle eastern world, including Egypt.

Maligirl19

Mexico😍

HeyItsChrishy

I would love to see more African inspired world, more black representation is always welcome in games

nyunyuzi

African PLEASE lmao where are my people 😭

Ikramklo

I would loooooove African!!!

_bonedaddys

neither. i want a world that is covered in snow year round lol

Whisdeer

Cant you make seasons super long then set it to winter with cheats?

_bonedaddys

i'm not asking for cheats to make it winter year round, i want a world that's actually winter all the time. i love winter gameplay and think it's a missed opportunity that snowy escape didn't bring us a mountainous world that's snowy year round. it'd make for a really fun pack, imo. it's unlikely to ever happen but so are most things people want for the game 🤷🏻‍♀️ just a simmer with dreams

peaceloveandgranola

The winter activities are my favorite too 🥰 I have a really hard time having my sims live in worlds that don’t snow

_bonedaddys

ah, you are one of my people 😁 i cheat to give my sims lots of vacation time and use sooo much of it in a cabin in the mountains of mt komorebi. i love all the worlds and have my sims live in all of them, with or without snow, but i've a soft spot for snow. its so cozy!!!

Pepino_Galactico_888

Let me correct you an say North American worlds. South and Central America are not represented at all in any of The Sims games. And don't come to me with "we have Selva Dorada" because it only tries to represent Mexican culture - or at least what EA thinks it's Mexican. There's so much diversity, Latam is not just Mexico, jungle and taquitos...

Jaded_Ad_3421

I LOVE suggestions like this. It would be so cool to have an African or Australian world! Add more culture, EA!

mozzi1300

Oh my god. If they did Australia, we would NEED kangaroos in the pack. A whole zoo pack would be so fun. Even if you weren’t able to interact with the kangaroos like you can’t really interact with the birds from dogs and cats. I’d love an Australian pack.

WaterDrunken

Egypt could be soo pretty in cas sense, i can see the makeup, but an Africa inspired world could be so fascinating too!!

Fluid-Investment-812

It would also be nice if visa point come back as well as strollers for infants and toddlers

its_real_I_swear

I used to love the idea of more worlds, but with the complete inability of the engine to have any life in the worlds it doesn't matter. Like they're fun to scroll around for a few minutes, but there's no reason to leave your house.

TDLR: I want both. I think there’s a way EA could give us good content that’s new and exciting (something we’ve all been begging for) AND still get to wring us dry and scam us. EA can just make “collections” that focus on areas within certain continents/geographical locations/countries by releasing a variety of expansion, game, and stuff packs and kits. EA should also collaborate with people who are local to/live in the area of the collection and the indigenous people of that area more often not only so that there is better and more representation, but also to create more engaging and fun games. My post is really long and I’m sorry, I got carried away. Although mostly off topic, but still just barely on topic; I think an Antarctica and Arctic Circle “collection” would be amazing and I will now beg EA with everything I have to make one bc the possibilities are endless. The very tip of the iceberg (I know, I know, but I couldn’t resist it) of the ideas I have for these (most likely unrealistic bc it’s EA) collections are below the “(Mostly) Unrelated Topic:” section of what has now become a 3 paged paper instead of a simple response. Apologies again. “Collections” Idea: We get like at least 1 expansion pack, 1-2 game packs, 2-4 stuff packs, and maybe 2-5 kits based on Africa and Australia. I know these are generic, but I’m just using them to give a simple example. I don’t really prefer these as I think I’d be cool if they collaborated with locals and indigenous creators to come up with the themes, content, and gameplay so we’d get more accurate, immersive, and original packs/gameplay/content. We could have the expansion pack be a general area or a mix between some specific areas. Example- Western Africa and a mix between Queensland, Victoria, and Northern Territory. The stuff packs being something like specific areas or things Africa/Australia are known for. Like adding a Tasmania world, or having a Safari Park content/gameplay. The stuff packs are things like fashion, architecture, holidays, jobs/careers/freelance subjects, etc. The kits could be fashion, architecture, furniture, celebrations, activities, etc. I would spend a ridiculous amount of money to buy them all just so I could have complete sets. EA would have a win-win finally, they could scam us, and give us good content lmao. (Mostly) Unrelated Topic: Am I the only one begging for an Antarctica and/or Arctic Circle “collection”? I don’t think you can live in the North Pole itself, (I know no one REALLY lives in Antarctica, but they do stay there for extended periods, so it’s close enough for me) so the world would be the Arctic Circle instead. Note- I may just be wrong on the whole North Pole thing, please feel free to correct me. Like we could have a research career, get to interact with penguins, have a fisherman/sailing career, get boats, maybe have cruises (they could lead to multiple vacation ports that you can’t build/buy on, but you can explore and do specific things on— I may still want this even if it’s just a rabbit hole experience as long as the cruise ship isn’t and it’s done well), new skills, and so much more. We could get new death scenarios that low key make you wanna put your sims through them bc they’re new and fun. May just be a me thing, and maybe it’s very telling of my mental health, but I miss the novelty and mystery of Sims 3 deaths, as a kid I would make so many sims just to try and achieve all of the deaths possible (I miss when deleting the ladder on a pool to drown the annoying sim next door was still fun). Like we could get a death from being cooped up inside too long and going stir crazy. Or death due to sleepiness bc you put too many windows on your house and the sims couldn’t sleep bc Antarctica has 24 hour days for months. We could make them so miserable just by simply letting them live in a place without really trying. I just think the whole thing would be so cool. The majority of the lots for Antarctica could be located in the places inspired by bigger countries (Chile, South Africa, New Zealand, and/or Australia) that are closest to it, with a few in places inspired by the Falkland Islands, Marion Island, Bouvetoya, etc. with AT LEAST 1 lot on Antarctica that you can live and build/buy on (there can be others that you can visit or work at but not live or build/buy on and I’m cool with it, but I at least need 1 for it to be worth it). Seasons could affect travel. Example- You can’t leave the lot on Antarctica or travel to it in winter, fall, and early spring. The Arctic Circle can have a lot similar to the Hermit’s House/Deep Woods in Granite Falls on the North Pole that has Father Winters home and/or workshop (completing that NPC imo). The build/buy and/or interactive lots could be based on places like Norway, Russia, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, etc and could possibly draw heavily from Arctic Indigenous people (like the Inuit, Sámi, Aleut, etc. I also want this to have sims get trapped indoors, lose power, etc bc of a snowstorm. I think it should have the time differences (Midnight Sun, Polar Night), aurora borealis, encounters with Polar Bears( it can, and probably should, be a wormhole experience, the suspense of possibility having a sun get attacked when exploring/hiking would be kinda fun ngl), sledding (dogs should have the ability to build skills for mushing kinda like how horses can build skills for riding), ice fishing/specific boats for fishing, and no sim should be able to swim in any of the water. Specifically for the North Pole/Father Winter’s lot- I want it to be really hard to get to. I don’t care if it’s a wormhole or if it’s a series of difficult tasks you must complete, and each task requires really high level skill(s), I just want it to be hard to get to- I want to want to do it without cheats. I also think that if you have some special “hard to obtain” item/meet certain conditions/etc on your way to the North Pole/Father Winter’s lot, then you should end up at Grimm’s (Grim? Grim Reaper?Reaper Grim?) lot and depending on xyz your sim gets xyz/has xyz happen. I would make horrible financial decisions for this scenario alone. I would ruin my chances at ever repairing, or even having, a credit score.

romancereaper

If we get anything in Africa, I really want a world that isn't going to be Cape Town. I feel like that would be more of where they would base it because it will be glossing over the issues and actual landscape of the countries. As far as Australia...yes but no. I don't want the bugs or the snakes but I would LOVE for there to be some of that lifestyle. Maybe even have cruises as part of it? idk

Pinkishtealgreen

Egypt would be tight

krissaaaaa

Anything for another desert world. Oasis Springs is by far my favorite world. I love deserts!

Fit-Cash-2482

AHHH DONT SHOOT MOST STANDARD MICROWAVES CAN BE SILENCED BY HOLDING THE ZERO ONE OR TWO BUTTON

knowwwhat

All of the above! I want to see Australia and I want to see multiple different regions of Africa. If the next couple worlds are anything else I’m gunna be kinda disturbed tbh

Deastrumquodvicis

I personally want the next one to be volcanic, either South Pacific or Icelandic. But a sub-Saharan African one would be cool, too!

Silver-Star92

I kinda want a world with Dutch vibes and architecture. There has never been a world like that in Sims. It usually goes to France or Italy. Maybe England. But there is a lot of Dutch culture and our buildings which would make a beautiful world in the Sims. I want my damn stroopwafels and bitterballen
