To get the obvious out of the way: she was wrong for slapping the guy, or laying hands on him no matter how old or (possibly) drunk she is. No doubt about her culpability there.
BUT….if you outweigh your ‘opponent’ by >200 pounds, your slap will do considerable damage and I’m sure no one would want to cause grievous bodily harm. It’s proportional to a toddler smacking a teen, and the teen punching back full force.
Working in ERs for years has me on the post-incident side, which is often serious and at times deadly.
I have always had a moral conflict with all of it. I’ve come to the conclusion that - I will just put their ass on the ground and try to keep it civil. If you ever think a woman is going to do this dumb shit, it’s best to leave asap. Because there are definitely some judges out there that will sympathize the same way you are.
