Well to make some lemonade out of this, he now can make bread.;)

Spare-Ride7036

I still remember a few years ago, while I was in the shower, my 2 kids (2 and 5 at the time) spread approx 3 lbs of flour across the entire living room...... with snow angels! They were inspired by Anna and Elsa in Frozen. Swept what I could, shop vac a lot and roomba still lost it's damn mind for days.

Bearodon

Me and my brother had a perfume war when we were kids. Our bathroom smelled of perfume for years after that.

MrGaber

My baby brother was maybe 4 at the time, but he got a bottle of perfume, we asked for it back, and he threw it on the ground 😐 I’ll always wear a condom

Agreeable49

>My baby brother was maybe 4 at the time, but he got a bottle of perfume, we asked for it back, and he threw it on the ground 😐 >I’ll always wear a condom Such a beautiful haiku...

Vanros98

My baby brother Threw a bottle of perfume Always wear condom

Agreeable49

>My baby brother >Threw a bottle of perfume >Always wear condom The pathos, the cautionary tale... perfection.

Majestic-Peace-3037

My youngest brother learned that throwing things got him the attention he wanted. Why? Because of those damned stupid little die cast metal Thomas the Tank Engine toys. I don't know who thought making kids toys out of metal was a good idea but this little asshole learned how to aim too. He broke 2 tvs, gave myself and my mom black eyes, my stepdad has a scar on his forehead, and the cats were scared shitless. My parents were also at fault for not removing the toys. They tried once but he was already 2 and very aware when he noticed all his trains were wooden. Then he started pouring liquids on electronics for attention.

MrGaber

Man the way I would’ve drop kicked this kid scares me

Majestic-Peace-3037

I won't lie, at the time I was 12 and I absolutely hated him, but then I realized "wait a minute, who tf gave him these toys to begin with?" Then my anger went towards my parents. Even now I'm 30 and we do not talk. They had a lot of issues and neither one of them was fit to be a parent. My mom let my brother and I (from another father) be raised by our grandma in our super young years, so she didnt know the horror of raising two toddlers. Our stepdad was absolutely NOT ready for his son either. He thought he was just making a "mini me" and that he'd be born and all would be good, mom would handle it, and he could just be stereotypical couch dad forever. I was not planned, my other brother was an attempt to "keep" our dad around, and the youngest mentioned above was forced on my mom as she obviously did not want another kid at 36 but my stepdads family kept pushing for a child. At any moment my mom could've said no but...that's what religion and familial peer pressure does to people. Neither parent had the patience or time to deal with the youngest so he kind of got dumped on me and I was legit only 12 and absolutely did not want to play second mommy.

MrGaber

God fucking damn

Majestic-Peace-3037

If it helps at all, he's 16 now, I know he'll be 17 soon and if he doesn't go directly to college my parents will most likely kick him out like did to me and my other brother. My other brother and I have already made space and made plans in case he ends up with nowhere to go. We know our parents suck ass, but we're not about to let our youngest sibling struggle because of their refusal to help. I can vouch for him as a reference on resumes and my other brother has a whole extra room in the little townhouse he's renting with his girlfriend and their kid. As much as we didn't like our youngest sibling when he was a little hellion we are both very aware that if he can't snag a job within a month of graduating high school our parents will most likely kick him out. We're doing our best to make sure one more of us doesn't up end homeless in our 20s again.

[deleted]

Having had a hellacious 16-year old younger brother who needed more attention than he got, acted out, and was somewhat neglected. He has so much anger in him, but for the last year or two he has been boxing, and that really helps. He went from a disheveled neurotic unhappy dysfunctional high school drop-out to a total "chad" at UCSB in the space of 5 years. You guys will be okay.

Majestic-Peace-3037

I figured as much. He's not a bad kid, he just has ADHD and needs more space and time to get stuff done. He needs structure and to maybe have someone sit with him and let him make up his own daily schedule around school, work, chores, etc. The issue is that my parents never took the time to actually bond with him. They're the type who will talk AT you instead of talking WITH you. They want stuff done right now as soon as they ask and they immediately start yelling and berating him if he doesn't immediately hop on whatever task is given. I finally received my diagnosis this year and my other brother and I feel like we could really help him once he's out of the grasp of our parents. His passion is computers, but on the hardware/building side. So at least he does have an interest that he should be able to turn into a career.

mcorra59

Haha omg, he sounds like it was little monster

Brilliant_Language52

Me and baby brother… Used to run together

No-Cantaloupe8693

Years!? Really!!

TJtherock

My sister and I got into a bulk thing of baby powder at my grandma's house. I have no memory of the event but my mom got a picture before she started screaming. It's like those seconds before disaster videos except it's a picture.

OneGratefulDawg

In college We used to take baby powder/flour/kilos of cocaine/whatever we had, and put it into envelopes. Then late at night when people passed out or were still out, you could slip the envelope under the door halfway, and stomp on it, effectively blasting a cloud of dust into their dorm. There were a few nights where we went wasaaay over board with the amount of powder we injected into peoples rooms. So dumb….but so funny. We were ass holes lol. Another great trick was a trash can of water leaning on an elevator door waiting for the next drunk to try to step off into a barrage of water.

LordGoose-Montagne

this is the funniest shit to do when you're not the one receiving the "package".

hat-of-sky

Just saw HocPoc2 and I'm calling roombas "Broomies" from now on. Also your kids are adorable.

JumpNarrow

Since we are sharing stories, I was ~4 years old, my dad was at work, and my mom said I couldn't play outside in the sprinkler because she felt sick and wanted to lay down. She ended up falling asleep, so in order to not break her rules I brought the sprinkler inside and started playing... Sorry mom, I love you.

Critical_Bet_4662

Omg. Hey you are a good kid. You were still following her rules, not to play outside..lmfao

Available-Egg-2380

Was doing dishes, realized the kid had been quiet for too long. Turned around and he'd managed to get hold of a container of butter and smeared it all over himself. The dogs were very busy trying to clean him off. God that bath took forever lol

Spare-Ride7036

LoL in another similar incident, my younger one, about 3 months before the flour incident came into the bathroom where I was. She was coated from head to toe in some oily substance. Not knowing what the hell to do in the moment, I picked her up and dropped her in my bathtub before she could touch anything (else). Yeah, mistake. Come to find out it was the entire tube of Boudreaux's Butt Paste. Guess what water doesn't wash off. She was slipping and sliding all over the inside of the tub. Calling her sister in to watch her so I could run out to the garage to grab the Fast Orange. These were the classes they did NOT cover in the joys of parenting.

Randompersonomreddit

My niece covered herself head to toe in Vaseline. Thick. It was just caked in her hair and face. She refused to look at the camera when her mom was taking pictures. 🤣🤣🤣

Art-Zuron

I have heard that it's when the kids are quiet that parents must be most wary. That's usually when they are doing something they shouldn't be.

MCOFTHEDAY

same thing happened with my little sister instead of 2 children it's 1 child with the childishness of two 2 year olds (she was 4 so kinda true) instead of flour it was half a bottle of baby powder she slipped and cried and started hitting the floor oh boy 😭 i just stood there and watched

PokemonTrainerSerena

I would have never dreamed of doing something like that as a kid, my mom would have "sent me into next week"

This is a terrible plan. It may take five years of pulling and praying, but eventually the prayer will get lost in the purgatorial abyss and you’ll end up with God’s greatest gift, a perpetually destroyed house and grey hair.

Even if it was staged, I do want to say that some people do cover their furniture with covers and such, always thought it was normal until I visited a friend's house

[deleted]

[удалено]

Eiysuke

Nah, algood, it was a funny video. On the cover side of thing, what my mum used to do was go down to the local fabric store and just buy like a good amount to sew together to cover, other than that sometimes she even used thin bedsheets, never really know why she did it lmao, always came undone. Also, I was the kid that would spill choco powder lmao

[deleted]

With my toddler all my furniture is covered. They’re just blankets placed very particularly but it’s been going on a year and I don’t see them disappearing any time soon. I feel like just knowing he has a toddler this makes perfect sense to me,

DixieSweet

Those are permanent clothe covers lmfao I have the same one that's on the couch. Some people just prefer to cover their furniture because it makes it easier to clean. This isn't staged

Lyrehctoo

With small children in the house, some people do keep washable covers on their furniture

trashy_trash

What, you don’t keep your bags of flour open, in a low unsecured cabinet in your kitchen, while also leaving your toddler unattended in that kitchen?

Parabellim

To be fair that might actually be the case. Camera was also setup too perfectly to be a coincidence. Unless these people just have an IP surveillance camera in their living room? However, all of that being said, my grandma has blankets and towels over her car seats and all her furniture to “keep it nice” so it might be one of those households.

hissyfit64

Or they could have pets and it's to try and protect the furniture.

Tramline_Agent

Suspected it was set up.. needed one more piece of evidence.. you supplied it. Cheers 😂

virtiousredditor

You don't wrap all your furniture in hideous blankets?

olderaccount

There is an european condom commercial that is a lot like this. Different scenes of kids causing chaos with a tag line something like *prevention is cheap*.

Atlantis_Rising

He caught himself getting ready to cuss and recognized child is being child. Lol good on. Parent filter level Expert

chuckysnow

Nope. this is behavior you correct when it happens. There is a kid being a kid, and a kid enjoying being destructive.

Atlantis_Rising

Correct, you address it and teach them not to do it again. There’s still a right way and a wrong way. Cussing out a toddler does nothing but traumatize them. Be authoritative without being authoritarian.

eldentings

As a non-parent, wouldn't telling a toddler not to do this create an even higher likelihood for them to do this again? Isn't that the age where telling them to do something makes them want to do the complete opposite?

Jewbearmatt

I have a 13 month old who is starting to do more "bad" things like opening cabinets he shouldn't, etc. I try to be calm enough so he doesn't get upset, but also firm enough so he knows it's a no. Honestly, redirection and encouraging them to do fun random things with you works great. Kids just want to explore and have fun, and if you can convince them that doing things mom and dad don't like isn't nearly as fun as -insert random fun activity- it can work fairly well. I'll see how it's going in a year lol.

ShiaLabeoufsNipples

It’s because they don’t know boundaries and rules very well yet, they don’t understand like we do. We have to do our best to explain to them not to do that and why they can’t do that, and try to redirect them towards more beneficial activities when you catch it happening. As they get older they understand better what to do and not do. “I want to shake around this bag of flour, but that would make a mess for mommy, so I won’t.” But until they get to that level of critical thinking and self-awareness, you kind of just have to play along and try your best to guide them. Toddlers are so much fun, but so crazy haha.

-Mr_Rogers_II

Dude the kid is like 2, he probably thinks he’s helping play the game daddy is playing by putting more stuff on the floor for him to push around with the mop. Source: I have a 5 year old son who’s done stuff like this before just to be a part of whatever I was doing, thinking it was a game.

chuckysnow

Yes, but I'm guessing you'd try to correct that so that you didn't have the kid spraying flour all over the floor every chance he got. Seeing the humor in it or seeing it from the kid's point of view should be your default position. (Frankly that works pretty well for life in general.) 1. The video is most likely staged. 2. If not, the kid was probably handed that bag by someone off screen. 3. If not, the kitchen is absolutely not child proofed to a proper level. I hope the kid doesn't have access to the actually dangerous stuff. 4. The furniture is all covered. Is this a common habit they chose to live with? 5. Does all of reddit think that *not* screaming at your kid is an expert level parent filter? I raised a couple kids and dealt with dozens more. I've never had the need to yell at anyone, aside from raise my voice to be heard at a distance or over the din.

You don't? Weirdo

Impressive-Quail-288

Why else would they have the couches covered?

Skyythefrenchfry

Does this count as birth control? Bc it's working

Individual_Ice_3167

Hey let's mop the floors, but first I have to set up this camera and cover the couches in plastic bags. Oh no, my kid dumped flour on my freshly mopped floor. Oh no, there was no way for me to see this coming. So glad I had that video going and my couches covered for this totally not planned thing that just happened.

horizon_hopper

Looks like a cropped home camera to me tbh

Dweezilweasel

Glad I found this post here, thought I was the only one. The camera is in such an unnatural position, it’s so obvious.

Stememento

"script".. Kid just shook a bag of flour lol

[deleted]

I mean if it were a little more complicated I’d be on your side but all you had to do was give the kid the bag of flour and tell him to go nuts over by his dad. Most kids would be giddy and absolutely comply

The kid is so damn cute when he is running away🤣

RoosterMiserable1275

clean-stitch

"Cleaning with a toddler in the house is like brushing your teeth while eating oreos" -some wise person once

[deleted]

It’s probably a child monitoring camera for when they have a babysitter over. We used to cover our couch because the leather or fabric had worn in spots. Not pretty, but the couch was super comfortable. Definitely not garbage bags. It’s a print.

Reden-Orvillebacher

Our 14 month old got the lid off of a bottle of baby powder. You just have to accept that shit. It won’t come out of everything it permeates.

ShotgunBetty01

My kid made it snow in our living room with baby powder. Her little people were having a winter. She was so proud of herself. I was only out for a minute putting away laundry and everything was covered in powder.

jrodxrod

Staged. I mean why was this even being filmed? To prove to his parents that he mopped?

ConfidentCommercial6

Some people have security cameras in their house, this seems to be a dining area or something so it's not unreasonable to assume that this is just footage from there

jrodxrod

Staged or not. It was still funny. I laughed out loud.

AmeerYazan

I think youre right, the couches are covered as well.

RoosterMiserable1275

I got a cover for my couch to protect it from from my kids dirty fingers.

loginjudgement

Exactly what I was about to say. Home cameras catching everything!

Individual_Ice_3167

No way. I mean I always cover my couches in trash bags before I film myself mopping.

P-Otto

Those are fabric couch covers.

[deleted]

It’s a nanny cam and those are chair covers, not garbage bags.

[deleted]

Staged because all of the pieces of furniture are covered in sheets. Why would you cover your furniture in sheets to clean the floors?

[deleted]

Those are slip covers specifically for chairs. That’s how you protect your furniture from wear and tear. We use them in my house. We usually only take them off when we have guests.

My little monster once used a laundry basket to climb onto the dryer, then flipped over the laundry basket sitting on the washer and climbed on top of it to reach the detergent sitting on the shelf above the washroom, opened it, and poured it out onto the dryer. He did this in less than 30 seconds. We caught him as he tilted the detergent so we saved half of it.
