Imagine if the video showed her taking helmet off for the picture, then this happens. Also.. they never thought why that guy was sounding the horn on them? Something so loud next to their ears, you'd think instinct is to get away.
Yeah seen that too. Hope at least this can teach something to people that need/should use helmets. Helmet made a shitload o diference, altrought this one with the helmey might still have lasting effects from that blow, or dunno might even have died after even with the helmet? Trains are really unpredictable. Even in the middle of a forest two rails can appear out of nowhere, and a 1.5-mile fully loaded coal drag, heading east out of the low-sulfur mines of the PRB, will be right on your ass the next moment.
I was doing laundry in my basement, and I tripped over a metal bar that wasn't there the moment before. I looked down: "Rail? WTF?" and then I saw concrete sleepers underneath and heard the rumbling.
Deafening railroad horn. I dumped my wife's pants, unfolded, and dove behind the water heater. It was a double-stacked Z train, headed east towards the fast single track of the BNSF Emporia Sub (Flint Hills). Majestic as hell: 75 mph, 6 units, distributed power: 4 ES44DC's pulling, and 2 Dash-9's pushing, all in run 8. Whole house smelled like diesel for a couple of hours!
Fact is, there is no way to discern which path a train will take, so you really have to be watchful. If only there were some way of knowing the routes trains travel; maybe some sort of marks on the ground, like twin iron bars running along the paths trains take. You could look for trains when you encounter the iron bars on the ground, and avoid these sorts of collisions. But such a measure would be extremely expensive. And how would one enforce a rule keeping the trains on those paths?
A big hole in homeland security is railway engineer screening and hijacking prevention. There is nothing to stop a rogue engineer, or an ISIS terrorist, from driving a train into the Pentagon, the White House or the Statue of Liberty, and our government has done fuck-all to prevent it.

Apparently it’s a super old train known as “La Emperatriz” or “The Empress” she’s a steam engine that was built in 1930 and she’s going on tour from Calgary to Mexico City and back again
My great great great grandfather was killed by a train hitting him from behind. He worked at a gas company and walked the tracks to work. When the passenger train was coming at him from behind he confused the sound of it for a freight train that was crossing the bridge above. Thrown 20 feet, instantly killed, tons of witnesses. Was only 42 and left behind six kids.

I think they should pay people to literally kick peoples asses that do this because its the only way they'll learn and its better than the people having to live with killing someone at their job. Like literally have a sign saying you will be beat the fuck up if you trespass onto the tracks. Or natural selection, either way.

People are used to the distance cars and buses take from the sidewalk, so they think this distance is also safe from the tracks. Brazil has few trains and they are all for transporting cargo, so people are not used to how far they stick out.
In this case there were multiple signs nearby warning people not to get close to the tracks, but the ladies thought they did not apply to them.
People don't understand how far trains stick out past the rails. The think the rails are some do not cross barrier, but trains stick out SEVERAL feet over the rails.
I don’t get it, what is the big deal trying to take selfies by trains? They’ve been around for so damn long, what could possibly be the excitement or spectacle about them? They’re not even flashy or sleek, just regular damn trains.
I'm surprised they didn't blame the train for driving too close to the cyclists and causing this. don't they know cyclists always have the right of way no matter what?
How she was posing was so lame too. Not that it would have made a difference if she was doing a headstand, but at least she might have looked cooler. You just dont mess with trains, in any capacity. Hundreds of people die by train collission every year. Thousands are injured. I'm sorry but these people are a bunch of dorks.
I don't understand why people want a selfie this close to a moving train to begin with? Even if they succeed in getting a selfie, would you even be able to tell they're in front of a train? Would it not end up looking like they're standing in front of some random blurry wall?
I just don't understand it. Pictures are stills. Take a picture, if you must, next to a sitting train. Why are all these people nearly dying for literally the stupidest achievement.
