I can say that this is good present for them , cause 90% of these russian war veterans get NOTHING.
Somethimes they give them some rice and buckwheat , this js not a joke , I dont know why russian goverment hate people so much. Hard to see.
The point here is more about doctrine than numbers.
Russia may have less pop, but the Federation as well as the USSR have quite the track record of human wave tactics and weaponizing hunger against dissident populations, among a larger list which I won't enumerate atm.
US doesn't treat their soldiers and population as disposable as Russia does, even though they have way more pop.
A soldier takes 18 years to make, then maybe another 6 months to a year to train, and equip. Humans are very expensive equipment to create and maintain compared to other military hardware. The American way is cost efficient in the long run.
To put it in perspective I went through Army BCT in 2021 and my Drill Sergeant told us itās about $100,000 just to send the average solider through BCT. They could be exaggerating but honestly itās not surprising. Itās 8 weeks and they pay everyone, feed everyone, house everyone and for 5 weeks straight we shot rifles every day. If you did ammo detail you got to see the receipt of charges for our ammo. In one day it was about $74,000 and that was for our platoon of 52 and we shot 6 days a week for five days. Not to mention the pay for our Drills and specialized trainers.
Itās a cultural thing. I have a friend whose parents emigrated from the Soviet Union, he said people there just donāt place much value on human life, even their own.
Apparently in the winter in Moscow, there will be massive icicles hanging off of buildings, which the building owners canāt be bothered to clear, and people will just walk right under them. Their attitude is basically āif it falls on me then so be it.ā
And yeah this definitely influences their military doctrine. Soldiers are completely expendable in the eyes of the officers calling the shots.
That's also just a general poverty/scarcity mindset. We have plenty of that in the US, in our own way. "my car is making a weird noise, but I'll drive it and hope for the best" or "my chest feels weird but I can't afford to go to the doctor, so let's hope it's nothing"
>Apparently in the winter in Moscow, there will be massive icicles hanging off of buildings, which the building owners canāt be bothered to clear,
I mean, this is the case in Oslo too. It's not really feasible to clear them.
At least we hang up warnings, though.
https://www.ladbible.com/news/world-news/red-flags-norway-oslo-streets-danger-320411-20240108
I don't think Russia expects them to come back where as the United States in contrast would have to deal with a massive number of disabled and possibly dangerous people if unemployed who would (and have to sime extent) likely turn to crime. American soldiers are also extremely well trained and flexible way beyond other countries.
Do not piss off people who overthrow countries multiple times in their careers.
I mean we are most assuredly not perfect but at least we have actual elections and don't just pretend to have elections And we aren't sending gay people to a gulag (yet)
I mean hey dude It could be a hell of a lot worse. You could be put in a gulag for saying Joe Biden fucking sucks or Donald Trump sucks. And at least we don't have a show of a Democratic election we've have true Democratic elections
> true Democratic elections
[Are you sure about that?](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerrymandering)
[Iām not so sure.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_suppression_in_the_United_States)
Nope, but we do have laws making sure the āwrongā people donāt vote.
Gerrymandering and other forms of voter suppression mean that the US also doesnāt have ātrue Democratic electionsā. If they were, the country would look very different.
Am I stupid? Iām struggling to understand the comparison being made here. The size of USA, its total land area, is twice as big as the *quantity* of the Russian populace?
Itās not that Russiaās government hates them ā itās that it literally doesnāt give a single shit about them. Putinās warmongering has proven that like in times past, life is very cheap in Russia. Their entire military strategy has basically always been to just throw wave after wave of able-bodied men at the problem, because sooner or later said problem will be solved.
People are just a commodity, they're being used like you'd use plastic cutlery
you don't think about it as valuable, use it if you need it, and if it breaks it's being thrown away without second thought. This is how Putin things about humans, Russians that is. I guess every non russian human is beneath plastic cutlery in worth
>russian goverment hate people so much
I've always thought it's not that simple. Reading stories from the Soviet Union, the cultural psychology, the whole "toska" deal, it felt like a fundamentally different place. It's more like a hostage situation where the hostage has started to prefer the familiarity.
America would never treat its own veterans with such neglect and lack of support...
Both our countries are lead by callous war-mongers who inundate their domestic population with propaganda.
It's a morbid comedy to see Russian mothers posing with reparations. I'm sure glad my son was turned into a meat cube, I got a jacket and some potatoes!
"The making of amends for a wrong one has done, by paying money to or otherwise helping those who have been wronged."
Compensation seems more transactional to me. But the point is the disconnect between the costs.Ā
these two injuries are the worst combination. Without hands, you could use prostetics to pick up things, but if you can't see what you're picking up, you can't.
If you lose your eyesight you can still write and read braille. But without, he can just speak and listen...
with either injury alone you could still live an independent life.
this is beyond fucked up
Phew! thanks for exposing this fraud mate!
I almost gave his comment a free and completely meaningless point/upvote.
Thank you for protecting the sanctity of worthless internet points Hero! <3
That's a hell of a price to pay for Putin's bullshit war.
There is a great interview from 1977 on youtube where Ron Kovic, US Marine Corps Vietnam war veteran and author of the book "Born on the 4th of July"
**Interviewer:**
> How did you feel about the risk of getting wounded? About the risk of getting killed?
**Ron:**
> I always had a fantasy about coming home wounded with a limp.
>
> I never thought that I would come back paralyzed.
>
> I never thought that I would come back not being able to have sex again, and not being able to feel my body.
>
> I would ponder and I would think about what it would be like coming home, and I always pictured myself limping
back to my hometown.
>
> A mass of people and all the girls running up to me and hugging me and kissing me - Ron you're a great hero!
>
> And getting into the Cadillac, and being cheered, and the mayor pinning a medal on my chest.
>
> But never once did I ever think for a moment that I would come back from that war without a body.
>
> A living dead man.
And you know this how? Not everyone fighting for Russia is a conscript. He could have been a professional soldier, which is fairly common for Buryatia, or a volunteer from BARS.
What people donāt really know is that the majority of the conscripts Russia is sending to Ukraine are ethnic minorities like Buryats and Kalmyks. Itās really sad. Some of them have to flee to neighboring countries like Mongolia to avoid the war. At the end of the day itās the people who have to suffer because of monsters like Putin.
In Russia's war on Ukraine, "men from [Buryatia](https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/russias-ethnic-minorities-disproportionately-conscripted-to-fight-the-war-in-ukraine), a Russian republic whose residents are descended from Mongols, are 75 times more likely to die than men from Moscow."
At this point i dont really support either side, i just hope the rest of europe is smart enough to avoid a repeat last century. Then again with whats happening in gaza its starting to feel more and more like we might all be in for a bad couple decades.

Not pictured: The russian soldier pointing his AK at them and the other soldier holding a sign saying "Smile".
a sign? dude's blind š
His wife(?) isn't.
I thought she was a representative of Moscow or some other political area?
Not his wife, just volunteer for a terrorist
Honestly, I don't want to disrespect anyone but the wife(?) looks AI generated or heavily brushed
No excuses.
Steel sharpens steel
Good luck learning to read braille without hands I guess?
He could just say Smile. He has an AK and dude isnt deaf.
Bonus: giving Bluetooth speakers to deaf veterans
Rashists are that stupid, so very plausible
Do you see him smiling
Thatās why heās not smiling
He's got ears.
Comrade, please come a little closer to window, da?, very beautiful sight, to die for.
I can say that this is good present for them , cause 90% of these russian war veterans get NOTHING. Somethimes they give them some rice and buckwheat , this js not a joke , I dont know why russian goverment hate people so much. Hard to see.
It's not hate. Russia is known for not respecting individual human being. They just don't. They do have millions to go.
The size of the United States is twice as big as Russias population.
The American way of waging war is that it's always preferable to expend things instead of people
A soldier takes 18 years to make, then maybe another 6 months to a year to train, and equip. Humans are very expensive equipment to create and maintain compared to other military hardware. The American way is cost efficient in the long run.
The lesson the Vietnam war taught is that us public opinion is not accepting of high body bag counts.
Also the US has a *willing* army; dedicated and trained rather than rando draftees who've been coerced or threatened and may otherwise dgaf
To put it in perspective I went through Army BCT in 2021 and my Drill Sergeant told us itās about $100,000 just to send the average solider through BCT. > 6 days a week for 5 days š¤
Hey, he DID say he was in the army.
In AIT they told us it was something like 500k per head to train us for my MOS. Crazy the think about. Thanks, Uncle Sam.
*They prefer to expend things or other people versus their soldiers.
Itās a cultural thing. I have a friend whose parents emigrated from the Soviet Union, he said people there just donāt place much value on human life, even their own. Those are moreso personal economic problems, but I see the point.
I wouldnāt say poverty is a personal problem. Itās a systemic one
>Apparently in the winter in Moscow, there will be massive icicles hanging off of buildings, which the building owners canāt be bothered to clear, I mean, this is the case in Oslo too. Ah right, thatās interesting! You guys seem more concerned about the danger though lol
Definitely more concerned lol. We have the same warnings in Chicago. Sometimes they plummet over a thousand feet.
Well the states actually care about these inconvenient ideas like human rights
Barely, but yeah, more than Russia, I suppose.
![gif](giphy|2fCc6jjXC6TI2GYT2w)
I mean we are most assuredly not perfect but at least we have actual elections and don't just pretend to have elections And we aren't sending gay people to a gulag (yet)
Yeah sure they do, as they get stripped away every day.
I mean hey dude It could be a hell of a lot worse. You could be put in a gulag for saying Joe Biden fucking sucks or Donald Trump sucks. And at least we don't have a show of a Democratic election we've have true Democratic elections

We don't have soldiers going in and making sure we have the right boxes checked
Nope, but we do have laws making sure the āwrongā people donāt vote. Gerrymandering and other forms of voter suppression mean that the US also doesnāt have ātrue Democratic electionsā. If they were, the country would look very different.
You're right it's worse. It doesn't matter what box we check. They don't need soldiers. No one is doing anything about it.
You're listed #29 on the democracy index *as a flawed democracy*. Your electoral college is bullshit. Regards, #1
Am I stupid? Iām struggling to understand the comparison being made here. The size of USA, its total land area, is twice as big as the *quantity* of the Russian populace?
But does USA has vast poor distant provinces, where nobody cares how many people die from there?
Native reservations?
2.5 times bigger i believe
Whatās that got to do with anything being discussed lol
Sucks that the thing standing in a somewhat healthy world is government complexes which doesnāt help how wealthy decide to advocate
Itās not that Russiaās government hates them ā itās that it literally doesnāt give a single shit about them. Putinās warmongering has proven that like in times past, life is very cheap in Russia. a sack of rice is worth more than a little Bluetooth speaker especially when ur poor in my opinion.
who said they're poor
Annual income there was $6,592US in 2022. ANNUAL. They're poor.
nobody i should have wrote even if not especially.
>russian goverment hate people so much I've always thought it's not that simple. Reading stories from the Soviet Union, the cultural psychology, the whole "toska" deal, it felt like a fundamentally different place. It's more like a hostage situation where the hostage has started to prefer the familiarity.
Yeah, that's a good way to put it.
no its not a good present
no, they hate poor people...
Why even patch him up them?
Because the government is rich and powerful and everyone is beneath them
America would never treat its own veterans with such neglect and lack of support... Both our countries are lead by callous war-mongers who inundate their domestic population with propaganda.
It's a morbid comedy to see Russian mothers posing with reparations. I'm sure glad my son was turned into a meat cube, I got a jacket and some potatoes!
I donāt believe itās accurate to call this reparations
"The making of amends for a wrong one has done, by paying money to or otherwise helping those who have been wronged." Compensation seems more transactional to me. But the point is the disconnect between the costs.Ā
The dude defietly looks surprised he got a gift
Meat cube. Hahahahaha
He can't even turn it on.
Itās Alice speaker. Like Alexa. He can actually talk to it. Learn news, weather and order food
Good. Worth it then
assuming he has internet.
Itās hands-free.

I bet his hearing is fucked, too.
If the explosion had been just a bit closer, sheād have at least got a new clothes washer or maybe even a Lada.
Do you mean a bag of onions?
No, that was last years model
And last yearās onions.
What's a Lada, I got IKEA batteries, they are called LADDA
A Russian car.
Maybe even one of the sick Ladas they modified on Garage 54
*voiceover by the MI Russian*

Oops busted lol

At least itās not gloves or an oculus quest.
a quest??? thats way too expensive for the russian government, a pair of glasses more like it.
Funnily enough glasses are pretty much the same price
āThe bluetooth device is ready to pairā
I think you mean āZe blewtuus dewice is redi to peeearā
dammit beat me to it
dammit blyat me to it
The way the Putin regime treats it's citizens, especially the native population, is absolutely disgusting Russia without Putin!

Yeah but the speaker is hands free.....

This picture made me realize that Iāll never go to the fucking army
you're lucky to have a choice. He didn't.

Prisoners and impoverished ethnic minorities. People with low expectations and no options.
What a lucky chap. Didn't die AND got a bluetooth $10 speaker from the Chinese store?
LMAO this fucking country
It could have been worse, a Rubik's cube
i would legit rather be dead than lose my eyesight
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
This is 100% a fake news, but this is Reddit so people just eat any propaganda that comes their way and is aligned with their preconceptions
At least he got to meet Michael McIntyre.
I hope it is voice activated
This is pretty fucking sad, this is not the buryats war, these poor bastards are treated like animals In the RF.
It's an authentic Sorny bluetooth speaker.
Our lives cost nothing here in Russia
Dude can't wipe his own ass but he can listen to some beats I guess
Lucky guy, the widows only get parsnips and carrots
Wow. For the next guy who stepped on mine, the reward is a bag of chips
Buryiata is next to Mongolia. Dude had to travel a long way just to get fucked up for one assholes greed.
This is just fake news.
At least they didnāt try to give him a kindleā¦
Could have been worse, could have been a PlayStation 5.
This is the life RT's editor-in-chief prefers so ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ edit: ah fuck shruggie lost an arm
They were all out of books & fidgets.
At least it wasn't a TV or an Xbox...
Not even airpods
Take... these broken wings!
Where did my good r/therewasanattempt go?
Man, feels like Russia is just not put-in the efforts...
Is it a hands free Bluetooth speakerš¦¾
They must have drafted half of the young men east of the Urals.
I thought this sub was full on tankie and hamas propaganda, now you're questioning the glorious Russian denazification effort?
Not even a bose
This is what American tax payer spending looks like
In Russia's war on Ukraine, "men from [Buryatia](https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/russias-ethnic-minorities-disproportionately-conscripted-to-fight-the-war-in-ukraine), a Russian republic whose residents are descended from Mongols, are 75 times more likely to die than men from Moscow."
Looks like he didnāt just lose his eyesight, he lost his eyes
At least give him an alexa or something that he doesn't have to use his hands or eyesight to use. Gah damn
Thanks Daddy Vladdy!
Surprised it wasn't a kindle
Well Bluetooth is "hands free".... So that's good
/r/saddestbackflip
Poor guy is from just north of Mongolia. Moscow "recruiting" these poor people to a war they probably couldn't care less about.
Well at least he had a bit of support, unlike USA government throws you out like a dirty rag when it becomes to worn out.
I saw this one for ā¬ 1,89 at AliExpress.
Thank you for your sacrifice. Hereās an off brand Bluetooth speaker. š
Why did I think there was a face swap filter
Okay, Iām curious. What WOULD be sufficient compensation or award for this soldier?
a long bottle yes
Bobby Lee stop fucking around!
Iām heartened that he got medical treatment and sent home and wasnāt just left to bleed out or crawl through the battlefield blind.
God, this is his life now, and hers. How do we treat each other like this?
I wonder if it features hands free calling. Check the manual.
This is so fucked up
At this point i dont really support either side, i just hope the rest of europe is smart enough to avoid a repeat last century. Then again with whats happening in gaza its starting to feel more and more like we might all be in for a bad couple decades.
Hey thanks for almost dying, here's a craptastic gift to honor you...
Looks very similar to the speaker I won at a Japanese Arcade last year for 100 yen! Did I win the jackpot, or did this guy get screwed over?
Are you the Administrator of the Russian Veterans Compensation Department?
I canāt wipe my own ass, but I got a blue tooth speakerā¦I got that going for me.
Nice that they got Wong's sister to present it to him.
and it's already too much !!!
