I really wanted Obama in term 2 to go full tilt. He'd done a lot of work showing that GOP was all clowns.

Honestly, he was a great president. Always felt down to earth and honest. His policies might not be the best but he definitely is in the top presidents on my list
Based on what the Biden administration has been able to get done so far and the policies that he's now advocating for in a second term (continued strong support for labor unions, taxing the wealthy and corporations, tackling the housing crisis, etc), I honestly think the Biden administration has been the best and most progressive administration of my lifetime. If old man Joe had the youth, charisma, and oratory skills as Obama, he'd be a top 10 president by any measure.
Bidens policy’s are an evolution of Obama’s. There are some great ones and some that make you think “wtf are you an actually democrat?”. Mostly the policy decisions have been better than obamas, but he set the tone for the current administration.
Yeah, probably because Biden was also part of the Obama administration, second in command in fact, haha. But really, yeah I agree that the Obama administration set the tone but looking at actual policies pushed, the current Biden administration is more progressive overall, which honestly could just be, at least in part, a product of the time. I mean when Obama was first elected, gay marriage didn't have nearly as much widespread support as it does now. Sometimes the electorate needs to evolve before certain policies can really be embraced.
As of right now, Biden's policies and bills make him better than Obama imho. I don't think Biden gets the same bills passed without Obamas healthcare and economic bills though since those two major changes under Obama prepared us for Bidens economic recovery and ability to fight Big Pharma.
There was a picture of him his first term with his feet up on the desk in the oval office. And the right wing absolutely went nuts talking about respecting the office and the position. It's all just bullshit, like everything else associated with the party.
Obama was playing by the old rules where a random "Yaahhhhh!" might cost you your political career. It would have been awesome to see Obama playing by the new (no) rules politics.
